Reyna was not sure what she expected when she walked into the breakroom. The scene in front of her was definitely not in her first ten guesses. Or twenty. Jason sat at the table, which was normal enough. He was staring down at his phone, but it was clear he was trying to ignore what was happening right next to him.

Leo was laying on the table like a starfish. A small frown marked his face as he stared at the ceiling. Leo sighed and shifted his head. Jason just kept staring at his phone. Leo sighed again, louder this time. That only prompted Jason to pull the phone closer to himself.

Leo sighed even louder. Reyna looked between the two and finally cleared her throat. Jason turned to look at her, and Leo sighed again. And of course, he was louder than before. Jason just rolled his eyes in response.

"Sigh," Leo said aloud as if he didn't know they had heard every noise he made. Jason rubbed his forehead for a moment. "SIGH!"

"Oh my god! Leo! I get it!" Jason snapped. "I asked you ten times what was wrong, and you said nothing was! What is wrong?!"

"You wouldn't get it," Leo muttered as he laid his head back and sighed again. Jason threw his hands up in frustration, rising out of his seat and storming out of the room. Reyna turned to follow him. Then, her gaze moved back to Leo. The chef was normally a ball of fire, both figuratively and literally.

Today, he just seemed sad. The smile on his face was gone, and there was no light in his eyes. Reyna slowly sat on the table and spoke, "What's wrong?"

"You wouldn't get it either," Leo murmured as he raised both hands and then allowed them to drop back to the table.

"I won't know until you tell me," Reyna returned with a shrug.

"Alright," Leo relented as he sat up and looked at Reyna. "I tried to shoot my shot, and I totally missed. Like I embarrassed myself."

"How would I not get that?" Reyna questioned.

"Because you're just like Jason. You're so confident and beautiful. Who would say no to dating you?" Leo asked. "Not to mention Jason. He's like a golden god or something. Girls throw themselves at him. The one time that I feel like I found a girl who might like me, I blow it," Leo ranted.

"I know she's out of my league, but I felt like I could… I don't know… impress her. Like I could make her laugh and show her I'm a great guy. And she would like me back. So, I did this whole cool guy bit before trying to add humor. It didn't go well," Leo explained. He sighed again.

"Hold on," Reyna said as she raised her hand. "Back to the beginning. Confident?"

"Well, yeah. You got that look on your face that says 'don't talk to me because you're not worth my time'. You only speak when you have something to say," Leo answered.

"That's because I'm socially awkward as fuck," Reyna revealed. Leo looked at her in surprise. "It's like how you use humor to deflect and disguise how you feel. I use silence."

"I don't use humor to deflect," Leo began. Reyna gave him a look. "Okay, fine. I do. Don't tell anyone else, though."

"Your secret is safe with me," Reyna promised. "But, why do you think anyone is out of your league? You're a kind, caring guy. You always make sure that everyone has food for them. I never really talked to you, but you know exactly what kind of food I like. You always think about Piper's vegetarianism or Jason's allergies to anything spicier than salt."

"Dude won't even put pepper on his eggs. Who the hell raised that boy?" Leo asked sarcastically. Reyna smiled slightly.

"I doubt you ruined things with this girl. Why don't you just try to talk to her like you and I are talking right now," Reyna suggested. "Don't try to be a cool guy."

"I am a cool guy," Leo protested.

"Not when you try to act like one. You aren't being yourself," Reyna rebutted. Leo opened his mouth to protest, but Reyna put her hand over his mouth. "I start in one minute, so be quiet. You have to be yourself, Leo. If she's not impressed or doesn't like you, that's how it's going to be."

"I'm scared for her not to like me," Leo mumbled from behind Reyna's hand. "Like, what if I do be myself and she doesn't like that?"

"Then, you know it won't work out," Reyna said, retracting her hand. "You can pretend to be someone else all you want. At some point, your true colors are going to show. Do you really want it to be weeks later?"

"No," Leo agreed, and then he sighed. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," Reyna said as she stood. She turned to leave, and Leo jumped to his feet and followed behind her. Reyna made her way to the front door but stopped long enough to talk to Jason.

"Hey," Reyna began. Jason looked at her. "I'm sorry about what I did. I shouldn't have just run like that. I want to talk about it, but I have to get to the door."

"Yeah," Jason replied sourly. Reyna gave him a nod and moved to the door to check IDs. Thankfully, most of the customers didn't give her too much shit. The ones that did were just ignored and told to give her the ID. A few guys tried to flirt with her to get out of showing their ID, and even a girl tried.

Reyna offered them to either give her the ID or get out of line. They finally shaped up and gave it to her. Reyna sent them on their way. When it was time for her break, Frank watched the door for her and told her that Leo had made a plate of food for her.

Reyna walked towards the kitchen and was given a full pizza. She stared at Leo, and he just winked at her, "Thanks for the help earlier."

"This is too much," Reyna began.

"I think it's not enough. Now hurry. You have fifteen minutes to eat all of that," Leo warned.

"Thank you," Reyna gave in. Leo gave her finger guns and then walked back into the kitchen. Reyna made her way to Clarisse's office and stepped inside. She sat at the desk and turned on the laptop to watch the cameras. It wasn't so much that she wanted to make sure nothing happened, but that she was just nosy.

As Reyna shoved two pieces of pizza into her mouth, she watched the cameras. Her gaze focused on Jason. He was busy walking around to the different tables and taking orders. Jason passed by another table and made his way back to the bar.

Annabeth and Piper were behind the counter, and it looked like Annabeth was cleaning the bar while Piper flirted with a random customer. Jason gave the man a side eye before dropping off an order and moving to the kitchen. Reyna followed him before shooting her gaze back to the camera that showed the bar.

The man said something, and Piper glanced at her watch. She held up five fingers, and the man grinned. Piper winked as she took a sip from water and placed it down. She turned away to help Annabeth make drinks. The man glanced around before reaching into his pocket.

Reyna chewed on another bite of pizza as she watched the man pull something out of his pocket. He looked around again and dropped something in the cup. Reyna jumped to her feet and dropped the slice of pizza. This fucking asshole did not just ruin her lunch.

Reyna made her way toward the bar. The guy was still hovering over Piper's water. As Reyna looked at it, she didn't see anything in the water. But, she definitely saw him drop something into it. Piper turned back toward the man and smiled at him.

"Three more minutes until your break, right?" the man asked.

"And one minute for you to get the fuck out of my bar!" Reyna interrupted. The man jumped and looked at her, glaring slightly. Piper looked at Reyna in surprise. "The fucker drugged your drink."

"I didn't do shit!" the man protested. "I was just waiting for her!"

"I saw you do it, asshole," Reyna countered.

"What are you talking about?" Piper questioned. Reyna realized they had drawn a crowd, and Annabeth was getting closer to Piper.

"I saw him on the camera. He-" the man shoved into Reyna, and her side slammed directly into the bar counter. She gritted her teeth to keep from crying out in pain. The asshole ran out of the bar.

"Fuck," Reyna hissed as she slowly sat on the barstool and placed two hands to her side. Why did it have to be right on her scar?

"Are you okay?" Piper asked as she stared at Reyna. It took a moment for Reyna to nod. She tried to keep her breathing controlled to keep from going on a cursing rant.

"Fine," Reyna muttered. "Do you know that asshole?"

"No. He was just flirting with me," Piper answered as she looked back at the drink. Annabeth examined it as well. "Did he really..."

"Yeah," Reyna said as she leaned forward and tried to feel whether her side was damp or not. "Fuck!"

"I'm going to call Chiron," Annabeth said as she placed a hand to Piper's arm. "You put the drink to the side. Reyna, you saw it on the cameras?"

Reyna nodded. Annabeth stepped around the counter and stopped by Reyna, "Are you hurt?"

"I just got hit right in the scar," Reyna muttered. She hung her head again and took a deep breath. Reyna slowly stood. The two of them walked to Clarisse's office. As they made it to the office, Reyna lifted her shirt to check if her side was bleeding.

"It just looks red and irritated," Annabeth spoke up. Reyna nodded, and Annabeth had her sit down as she went through the computer. "Thank you for stopping him."

"I'm not going to let someone hurt Piper," Reyna retorted. Annabeth rewound the camera and looked at the laptop. She watched the man put the pill in Piper's drink, and a scowl morphed Annabeth's face. She watched it a second time.

"We need to make a copy of the video," Annabeth said. Reyna stared at her blankly. "I'll handle that part. You should sit down and try to relax."

"I just need a minute," Reyna declined. She slowly sat in the chair and leaned forward. Her side was really hurting. Reyna rested her face against the desk and sighed tiredly. "Fuck."

"I can get pain medicine," Annabeth offered. Reyna vaguely waved her hand. Annabeth moved a hand to gently rub her back.

"I'm fine," Reyna muttered. "Just need a minute."

"Take as long as you need," Annabeth said gently. She squeezed Reyna's shoulder and walked out of the office. Reyna sighed and pressed her arms against her side. Then, she slowly grabbed a slice of pizza and took a bite. When it wasn't miserable, she took another bite.

Reyna hoped that asshole came around again. She would rip his damn head off. For now, she would just try to quell the aching pain in her side. A deep sigh left Reyna, and she grabbed another slice of pizza as she relaxed.
