"Reyna? Hey, Reyna. Wake up!"

It wasn't the words that woke Reyna up so much as two hands slamming into the desk near her head. She shot into a sitting position and then blinked rapidly. Her gaze focused on the hand in front of her. Then, it moved up to the angry face of Clarisse.

"You're back," Reyna slowly muttered. Her brain felt like it was running at half-speed. Ever since that bitch Circe rolled into town, Reyna didn't get a full night of sleep. Staying at Piper's didn't help, and she even stayed there for three days. Maybe getting five hours of sleep all together.

Reyna had been a nervous wreck when she finally went home, but Circe wasn't there. She didn't move to confront Reyna. But, Circe would. Reyna knew it. That's why she barely slept in her house, jumping at any noise.

It had been five days since the charity party. Five days of waiting for Circe to rear her ugly head. Five days of not knowing what the fuck to do. She made Piper swear to stay quiet about it. As far as Reyna knew, Piper had kept her mouth shut. If she didn't say anything, her friends wouldn't know.

If her friends didn't know, they wouldn't try to help. Circe couldn't hurt them then. Reyna wanted nothing more than to run, but if she did, Circe would make her friends pay. Not to mention Hylla. What the fuck could Reyna do, though?

"Are you paying attention?" Clarisse demanded. Reyna jumped and looked at Clarisse, not realizing she had zoned out. It was getting harder to stay awake. Sooner or later, she was just going to pass out on the spot. "We started five minutes ago."

"Shit. I'm sorry," Reyna began. She stood and rubbed her eyes. Clarisse studied her for a long moment. Then, she grunted and turned away. Reyna left the office after a few moments and tried to find the energy to stay awake. Her hand moved to her hip where a gun rested, tucked into her waistband.

Clarisse would kill her if she knew that Reyna was bringing a gun to work. What the hell else was she going to do, though? If Circe confronted her, what would Reyna do? Hell, could she even pull the trigger?

Reyna placed both hands to her face and sighed tiredly. She peeked through her fingers and saw Clarisse wasn't far ahead. Reyna slowly spoke, "Clarisse?"

"We're still in shutting the fuck up mode," Clarisse retorted as she looked back at Reyna. The werewolf closed her fingers and sighed as she dragged her fingernails down her face. Today was going to fucking suck.

As Reyna stepped out of the hallway and into the bar, she slowly looked around. Piper was at her side instantly with a coffee mug in her hand. She offered it to Reyna and spoke, "Here you go."

"Thanks," Reyna said. Piper studied her face.

"Are you doing okay?" Piper asked gently. Reyna simply nodded. "Are you sure? You look exhausted."

"Piper, please just let me handle this by myself," Reyna said softly.

"Not if it kills you," Piper argued. Reyna sighed and hung her head.

"Just give me a few days to figure it out," Reyna muttered.

"Reyna, you-"

"Just let me fucking handle it!" Reyna snapped. Piper stiffened and turned away. Reyna hung her head and closed her eyes for a few moments. She didn't open her eyes as she heard Piper walking away. "...I'm sorry."

Reyna didn't mean to snap on Piper. She didn't want to yell at her friends. Reyna was just exhausted. It made it hard for her to control her composure, and she was quick to anger. How the hell was she going to get any sleep?

A sigh left Reyna as she made it outside. She checked IDs, hardly speaking. It took most of her focus to stay on her feet and read the numbers in front of her. Her thoughts were a jumbled mess on what to do about Circe.

Running? Not an option.

Kill her? Could Reyna do that if it really came to it? Sure, it was easy to have a gun in her hand. Not so easy to actually pull the trigger when facing that monster.

It wasn't like she could go to the others for help. Circe would hurt them.

Maybe, the best option would be to beg Circe to just let her work out the remainder of her contract. Fuck. Reyna couldn't do that again. Just the thought of it made her sick to her stomach.

Would Circe just leave her alone? No way in hell.

"Reyna."

The werewolf jumped again and thought she had fallen asleep. Instead, she realized a few hours had passed. She had been mostly zoned out, hopefully paying enough attention to study the dates on the IDs. Reyna glanced at Clarisse.

"Break," Clarisse said. Reyna nodded and made her way into the bar. She walked back to the breakroom and sat in the nearest seat. Before she could let her head drop the table, she saw a plate of food being placed in front of her.

Leo walked around the table and sat across from her. He spoke, "What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing is wrong with me," Reyna muttered. Had Piper said something? Reyna was going to kill her if she did.

"I don't believe that for a second," Leo challenged. Reyna glared at him. "You haven't been eating when you're here, and you always eat. Also, your shoulders are all tensed up again. Like when you first started."

"Have you ever seen a paranoid person looking around like they think the shadows will attack them?" Leo asked. "That's what you look like."

"I'm not paranoid," Reyna said through gritted teeth.

"I didn't say you were paranoid. Just that you look paranoid," Leo corrected. Reyna glared at him. "You can tell your friends."

"There is nothing to tell," Reyna declined as she stood from the table. She would just take her break in Clarisse's office, even if Clarisse hated her for it.

"Well, I'm here if something comes up and you need to talk about it," Leo offered. Reyna remained silent. "You should also eat some food. Get some energy."

Leo left her without another word. Reyna waited for his footsteps to fade down the hall. Then, she sat back down and ate a few bites of the food. Her nerves were completely frayed. All she wanted was to sleep and for her friends to leave the situation the hell alone.

Reyna rested her head on the table with no clue on how the hell she was going to get out of this one. A deep sigh left her, and she let her eyes close. Before Reyna knew it, she was falling into a quick, restless nap.
