Reyna's eyes nervously scanned her surroundings as she pulled her jacket closer to herself. She tried to hide her shiver as she walked further along the street. It was easy to smell that this place was not safe. Hostile werewolves were all around. Not to mention the other gangs.

Reyna stuffed her hands into her pockets and swallowed painfully. Any moment now, they would smell her. She just had to keep her composure during this. Reyna turned the corner and saw a few men standing outside of a baked goods store. Only the store looked old and rundown.

Her phone vibrated in her pocket. She stepped back into the shadows and grabbed her phone. Reyna answered, "Hello?"

"You called," Hylla began. There was an irritated tone in her voice.

"I didn't mean to bother you," Reyna began.

"You didn't. Anything is better than this," Hylla muttered. A loud sigh left her. "What did you need?"

"I...she...I..."

Reyna swallowed painfully as her voice died on her. She turned her back to the street and buried her face in the wall. Hylla waited in silence, but those moments of nothing became a minute.

"What's wrong?" Hylla asked as concern touched her tone.

"She found me…" Reyna choked out. She felt bile build in her throat once again. It only got worse as there was silence on the other end. "I..."

"The one who marked you?"

"Yes."

Reyna stood in silence, knowing she had just set off a bomb. She could feel Hylla's anger through the phone. Her sister took a deep breath, "I'll fucking kill her."

"She'll kill you!" Reyna protested.

"It's going to be hard to do that when she is choking on her own blood," Hylla seethed in a low voice.

"Hylla, I can't... she gets in my head! And I can't do anything about it. When she talks, I can feel her words wrapping around me, and it's like I'm not in control."

"Just let me handle her," Hylla insisted.

"Hylla, do you trust me?" Reyna asked.

"I trust you, but that doesn't matter here. This monster-"

"-will die," Reyna interrupted. "The problem is I can't do it with her words wrapping around me."

"Then let me do it!" Hylla argued.

"Hylla, I want you to be safe," Reyna pleaded softly. "Cir…Circe already knows about my friends at the bar. She promised to hurt them if I don't do what she says. And losing them would hurt so much. But if you were to die, that would destroy me, Hylla."

"And losing you would destroy me!" Hylla retorted impatiently. She sighed. "Just promise me you'll be careful. I'll come back as soon as I can."

"No!" Reyna denied. "If you're in town, it's only going to make things harder. Do you still have your things in that storage unit?"

"I... yes. Promise me you'll be safe," Hylla said. Reyna opened her mouth. "Promise."

"I promise," Reyna swore. She turned back toward the street.

"Did she make you..."

"Yes."

"And what does she want next?"

"Me to find a vampire that she bought," Reyna muttered. "I know who it is, but I am sure as hell not handing him over. I just... I need to think. Try to find the receipt."

"Proof," Hylla said softly.

"Yeah. I'll keep you in touch, but I need to go," Reyna said softly. "Love you."

"Love you too," Hylla grunted, not sounding happy. Reyna ended the call and put her phone away. She pushed herself off the wall and started to walk away. The hair on the back of her neck stood as she saw two of the men at the baked goods store make their way toward her.

Reyna's nose twitched at the smell. She wanted nothing more than to curl in on herself. Instead, she made her way toward them as well, standing up straight. A small smirk rested on her face. Both men stepped in front of her.

"What the hell are you doing here?" one of them questioned.

"I'm here to speak to your boss: Lycaon's replacement," Reyna stated. "Because your boss sold some goods and didn't pay up with them. He let them escape, actually. We have a name, but I need more information. I know you have a list of sales somewhere."

"Don't know what you're talking about," the other grunted.

"CC does," Reyna replied with false confidence. Only one of them reacted, but his face turned a ghostly pale. He swallowed painfully and looked at his buddy. "She's the one who sent me."

"Go get him," the spooked one said to his buddy. The other gave him a confused look but turned and hurried away. Reyna crossed her arms. She leaned on the wall and tried to maintain her confident air. This was a stupid plan, but at the same time, Reyna didn't have many options. She was confident that she didn't have to worry about being hurt by these werewolves. Not only was the name of Circe enough to scare anyone with a brain, but she also had that ingrained scent on her.

Reyna wasn't sure how curious she was about her pack. For one, they weren't really her pack anymore, she wouldn't be welcome. Two, her grandmother tried to kill her. It wasn't like she wanted anything to do with the woman after that.

But, did this Juno know about her mother?

Only one way to find out it seemed.

That was a problem for later, though. Reyna watched as a man walked toward her. He wore torn-up jeans and a fur jacket without any shirt underneath, showing off his hairy chest. Not to mention he smelled like a sewer. He held a piece of paper in his hands.

"I don't want trouble with CC. This is Lycaon's fuckup," the man began as he raised his paper. An eyebrow cocked. "I know you."

"Yeah, you do," Reyna confirmed. She grabbed the paper, but the man didn't let it go. "You're going to get to know me a lot better if I can't find the package."

"Look, kid hangs around that centaur's bar. You know that bar too, right?" the man questioned as he furled his brows together.

"Maybe I do. The hell is his name?" Reyna questioned. She took the paper from the man. "I only got his nickname."

"Puppy name," the man said with a chuckle, like it was some kind of joke. Reyna opened the paper and stared at all of the names on it. Most of them were names of objects, easy to talk about on the phone. The object names all had initials next to them, along with initials. Nico had been given the name of 'fresh meat'.

Of course.

And next to it was Circe's name. Reyna wasn't sure how Lycaon could be so fucking stupid, but she would not let this opportunity go to waste. Reyna slipped the paper into her pocket and spoke, "Got any other info? Like why you let the merch get away."

"It's complicated," he replied lamely as he glared at her. His eyes flickered to Reyna's face. "You're the one Lycaon hurt."

"Because he fucked with my turf," Reyna retorted as she kept her gaze steady. "You and your friends aren't going to do that, right?"

"No. Just make sure CC doesn't come after us."

"I'll do my best," Reyna sneered threateningly. She took a few steps back and kept her eyes on the man. Reyna continued to move backward and didn't turn her back on them until she was down the street. Then, she turned and walked away.

Step one was complete. She had something that could begin to implicate Circe. Leverage. Reyna would keep it for now. All she needed to do was wait for the right moment. Now, she had to find Nico and let him know just how much trouble he was in.
