Arc One: Mystery
Chapter Twenty-One: Restless
The moonlight is the only other light source besides the Charizard's tail as the wagon makes it's way through the dark forest. Unfortunately for the Zoroark, in order to get to their cave, they had to go off the beaten path, meaning that Scar had a bumpy rid while the Ghost-Types just float around, as one of the perks of being part ghost was that you had an unusually weight that you could control at will.
Another problem they had to face was running into, well, literally anymon that wasn't their type. They ended up heading into the back corner of Apple Woods to try to avoid everymon. While that meant that they didn't run into anymon, that did mean that they had to go through a Mystery Dungeon, something that the Illusion Pokemon did not want to do again.
"These stairs are getting really old." He says annoyed. "Why are there even stairs in the first place? THIS IS THE WOODS!"
"I guess that's why they're called Mystery Dungeons." Fang says as he bounces around with Shard. Thankfully, they don't bother Scar or cause any damage for the wagon, which might I add is just big enough to fit on the strange staircase.
Scar then reaches into his mane and pulls a large metal pole. "Thankfully, this will be the last time we'll have to deal with this one." Shard and Fang turn toward the Zoroark, and are stunned.
"Woah! How did you get that?" The Gengar asks. The fox puts the pole back and says, "You'd be surprised how many things that station had. With this thing, it'll make teleporting even easier and much safer."
"But wouldn't somemon else be able to use that to sneak in?" Shard asks.
Scar brushes it off. "The only way that somemon could teleport to it would be to use a badge, but they would first have to register it to the pole, which can only be done by making contact with it. Speaking of..."
He then tosses the two a badge each and adds, "I already got those all set. Lose them, and you'll never be allowed back. Understand?" He ends with showing his claws, which he give them an eerie glow thanks to his flaming tail.
Both the Gengar and Stableye don't know how to respond to the Charizard/Zoroark, but the wagon changing it's angle signals the Zoroark to hand on to the corner of the wall to avoid falling. After the coast is clear, Scar takes a look outside and notices that the fog is disappearing.
"Finally, I think that was the last room." He says.
"Ok, so then where our hideout from here?" The Stableye asks.
The Zoroark closes his eyes for only a moment. He then opens them and moves to the front of the wagon, to which the other two give him room to move.
He then tells the Scolipede that's pulling the wagon, "Head over to the right. You should get to a gray cave soon. When you do see it, let us know."
The Megapede Pokemon gives him a short look, and then continues walking in the direction that Scar told him to go.
"So, how do you think Blade is doing?" Fang asks.
Scar sighs and doesn't say anything, he just sits down back in his corner and doesn't say a thing. Scar gets the feeling that they might say something about him not saying anything, but they just sit back down quietly looking at their new badges.
Scar chuckles to himself and closes his eyes again. He then thinks about Blade and thinks, "Doing ok?"
...
...
He doesn't get an answer, but Scar doesn't mind. He knows he got his message across and doesn't mind waiting.
...
...
"Hold on, can you give me a second?" He hears a voice call back.
"Alright." Scar goes as he shifts back into a Zoroark, but he gives himself a stick to twirl around as he sits down.
"Ok, I'm good." Blade answers. "How'd your day go?"
Scar pauses for a moment, sighs, and then says, "I take it that your day didn't go to our plan?"
"Whhhhhat makes you think that?" Blade asks.
"Your everything. I know how you act, Blade. You always try to prolong as long as you can before you have to tell me that you failed. And if I had to guess, you're picking apples for us as an apology."
"..." "..."
"Well, am I right?" He asks.
"You're no fun." Blade says back angerly, to which Scar grins on the inside.
"...But yes, I didn't get the Vulpix."
The Zoroark frowns, but Blade then says, "B-but I did grab a whole lot of food for us, and I managed not to get caught in a Mystery Dungeon this time, so that's a plus."
"Did you do what I said and take care of the Vulpix first, and then go after the other Pokemon." Scar says.
"Yeah, but..." Blade trails off, making Scar ask him again. "Well, did you?"
"...C-can we talk when I get back, please?" Blade asks.
The Zoroark shoots a look at his other companions, who are both not paying any attention to him. "I can talk to you right now, if you'd like?" Scar says.
"You're sure they won't notice you acting up?" Blade asks.
Scar chuckles and says, "Believe me, they won't bother to bat an eye towards me. They don't want to get in even more trouble than what they're already in."
While Scar says it like a joke, Blade doesn't think that it was funny in the slightest. "Why do you have to act like that?" He asks.
"Act like what?" Scar asks.
"Well, so mean."
"Come on. I'm not acting mean. It's called 'having fun'." Blade goes silent, which causes Scar to groan. "Come on, deep down, you still know I'm still the same Pokemon at the end of the day."
"But the Pokemon that they, and everymon else for that matter, think of you as somemon completely different."
"Now that's not true." He says.
"And it's not exactly false, and you know that." Scar rolls his eyes as his friend continues. "You act so rough around the edges whenever you talk to anymon, but me. You also make me act cold to everymon else."
"You know why that has to stay like that." Scar says. "It's how we've been told to live our lives. The thing that keeps the world spinning is fear. If no one fears you, then you'll never get anymon's respect and you'll be left alone. With fear comes power."
"But you don't treat me like that." Blade says.
"You're a special case, Blade. Everymon else isn't as lucky as you." Scar says. "Through when you really think about, we're all unlucky."
Blade stays silent again, but the Zoroark continues. "Look, I know that you'd rather not be doing stuff like this, and trust me, I don't like doing this as well." He then bites his tongue, realizing that Blade was going to pounce on him now.
"Then why are we doing this?" He asks.
Scar then snaps at him and yells, "You know why!" ...out loud.
He turns white as the two Ghost-Types freak out. "What?! Are we back?! We weren't asleep, promise!" Fangs says panickily.
"Yeah, n-no need to get mad at us." Shard adds.
"I see that you got a little carried away." Blade says. "I guess you better get going. See ya later!"
"See you." Scar thinks before he says, "No, we're not back, but we will be soon, and when that happens, we need to bring this wagon inside and burn it. Can't leave a single clue of where we are. Got it?"
"Yeah, sure thing." They both say.
Scar then looks out of the wagon and Blade's words come to his mind. He lets out another sigh and thinks, "It's the way it has to stay, but one day it'll be better." He then spots their cave and he smiles.
"Finally, shelter." He says as he turns back around to face his partners. "Alright, we're here, so you better get ready."
Only a couple seconds later and the three hop out of the wagon after checking their surroundings. Scar then takes off the red ring off of the Scolipede and says, "Ok, now get back where ever you came from. Your work is no long needed." The Pokemon nods and turns around, but Scar then says, "Hey...thanks for the lift."
"I've heard stories about you." He says. "A deal is the closest you'll ever get to peace. You better hold your end of the bargin, because we can find anymon we consider our enemy."
Scar stares at him, knowing that he isn't one to listen to him talk, meaning nothing to him if he continued, so he says, "Don't worry about. I already got you stuff. It'll be in by tomorrow."
The Bug-Type's face shows little emotion as he says, "Now, which one was it to teleport?"
"The big one in the center." Scar says.
The Poison-Type Pokemon then hits the button and leaves without saying another word. Scar then turns to entrance, to which he sees Fang and Shard pulling the wagon inside their home. He follows them only to be cut off by Shadow, who leaps out of the ground.
"Oh, what is it now?" Scar asks.
"...talk...now..." The Marshadow says.
Scar looks at the moon through the forest trees and says, "Alright, where do you want to go?"
"...away..."
Scar had an annoyed face, but then started to walk away from the cave, doing as the Marshadow said. "Then tell those ghosts that we have to do a quick errand."
Shadow sinks into the ground as the Zoroark sighs.
This wasn't going to be quick.
I open my eyes. I don't know why, but I just feel like I've slept long enough. Is it morning yet...or at least close to it...I roll onto my back and then sit up.
Wait, I think I was wrong. It doesn't feel like morning to me anymore, though it's hard to tell what time it is being underground without any windows.
Still, the latter could be right and I would like to find someway to find out what time it is, so I get up on my feet quietly.
I then freeze when I hear Lucas snoring. I look over at him and see him twitch, but then he falls back asleep. I smile as I walk out of our room.
The only light source that we have are torches, but only a select few of them are lite so that they don't make too much light, but enough so that you can walk around without tripping over something, which is good for somemon like me.
As I lift the blanket over myself, I walk into the center room and go to the table. I spy an hour glass with markers on the glass to tell the time, and judging by how much sand is left on the bottom, it is about five o'clock.
Alright, so a little too early. I yawn and go to head back, but when I turn around, I spy Sparks' and Eve's doorway.
I then frown. I've thinking about her all night. I know I hurt her, but why did she think I was going to do it again. She didn't have any nightmares when she was knocked out, is she?
I soon find myself lying down on the couch, facing away from the entrance, and sigh. "I messed up." I say quietly as I slowly tap my right foot on the couch while I lie wide awake.
What does she think of me now? That Dusknoir didn't mess up her vision too, did he? But that wouldn't mean too much. It would only be her vision that's wrong, not her hearing, so it's not like he was talking to her, right?
"Thanks for your help." I hear in the back of my head.
Wait, that Dusknoir could change it's voice, would that mean that he could have done the same to Eve... I grunt quietly.
While that would be a good reason, wouldn't Eve realize that and move on. I would understand her being a little salty, but she's avoiding me at all cost. Maybe it's little too soon to talk to her?
But what if it isn't? What if I just scared her for life? Ughhh! Why can't my head ever take a break!
My ears then pick up a sound from behind me and I look just enough to see Lucas moving the blanket over himself.
"You know, it's hard to stay asleep when your partner's aura is all wacked." He quietly says with a smile.
By the tone of his voice, I can tell that was his attempt to try and cheer me up. I crack a smile and respond. "What else can I say? I'm always on my feet I guess."
"For better, and from what I can tell, for worse as well." The Rilo says as he walks over by me.
I then sit up and give him room to sit down. "You can never stop thinking, can't you?"
"Nope." I answer. "If you were in my shoes, then you'd be the same as me."
Lucas then makes a confused face. I realize the mistake I made and correct myself. "I meant if you were me."
Lucas then says, "Ohh! That makes more sense. I have no idea what 'shoes' are."
I look back at the other room's entrance and say, "I just really hope Eve is alright."
I then hear the Emanation Pokemon chuckle as says, "I'm beginning to believe that you really do have crush on her."
My checks turn red as I say, "I don't have a crush on her."
"Are you sure?" Lucas asks. "Because everything you're doing makes me think the opposite."
I then get redder and look away from him as he says, "See, you have to have one. But if you're that worried about getting embarrassed, I won't tell anymon. It can just be between you and me."
"But I really don't have one." I say a little louder than I should as I turn at him.
"Then what do you really think about her?" He asks.
I think for a moment. In fact, I think for so long that Lucas smiles and says, "That's what I thought."
He gets off the couch, but then I stop him when I say, "I care about her, Lucas."
He turns at me as I continue. "I don't have a crush on her, but I still don't want her to be like this. Both her and me have some kind of unexplained power, but the way we handle it is completely different. I've only known about this for almost two weeks, and I really enjoy having it. Eve on the other paw said that she feels like a curse, but she's had to have this longer than I have. Not to mention that she can do so much more with it. I would love to use any move I could think of."
"So, you don't want her to feel ashamed of herself?" Lucas says.
I nod and say, "I don't like to see her struggle while I'm doing so well. She's part of our Guild, me and you have saved her, and vise versa. At first, she seemed like she was haunted by something, but we slowly helped her out of it. Like when Wigglytuff told her to join us to come here, she didn't have a problem with it, but now when we could really use her for the Ground Temple, she yells that she doesn't want to go."
I let a tear escape from me as I say, "I just hope I didn't break her. I just want her to be happy, and stay happy. There's so many Pokemon at the Guild, but it wasn't until we came in that she seemed to open up to everymon, as if we're special. Ever since I saw her trapped in that net...I just don't ever want to see her in pain. I just feel like I have to always protect her, and I'm failing my job."
"Hey, you're not failing." Lucas says as he sits back down. "We all struggle with pressure, and we sure have a lot now that we know how to fix things up, and...well, I almost gave up in the mountain, actually."
"Really?" I ask. He nods and says, "It started when Eve started to go out of control for no reason. I then tried to calm her down by saying it would be ok, but before I could say that...I wondered if it really was going to be ok. I was worried that I couldn't help you, and that you'd have to go see Zygarde, so I stopped and sat down on the floor, crying."
I look at Lucas and ask, "So, how did you calm yourself down?"
"I didn't." He says.
I get confused and look harder at him while making a face. "But you look fine?"
He then lightly knocks on top of my head and says, "Come on, if your head never sleeps, then you should have an good idea inside there."
I then think, but it doesn't take me too long to remember the only one who could have helped Lucas out. "Eve calmed herself down?" I asked shocked.
Lucas chuckles and says, "Yeah, that surprised me as well, but she made me feel better when she told me that as long as we had time, we also had a chance." He then hops off the couch again and says, "Just remember that, ok. Just give it sometime, and Eve will be up and ready to travel again!"
He puts out his paw and says, "Just promise me that you'll get some sleep. I've told you before. It'll. Be. Fine. Got it?"
I take a breath and say, "You really want me to relax, don't you?"
"No, I want the same for you as you want for Eve: Be happy." He says.
I then smile and shake his hand. He then says, "So, are you coming back, or are you staying out here?"
I look at the couch and say, "I think I'll stay out here, and I'll try to get some sleep."
"Hopefully you do." Lucas says. "You know, you really like to flip flop around your personality."
"I can't help myself." I say. "I don't have a lot, so everything's pretty important to me, and I just want it to work out well."
Lucas laughs and says, "I think you should know this, but I don't think everything will always work out one hundred percent the way you want it to, but I guess that's what makes life fun."
I lie down on the couch and say, "Yeah, I guess a little chaos never hurts anymon."
"Night Red. See you tomorrow." Lucas says as he returns to his room.
"Night Lucas." I say back to him as I close my eyes.
I sigh and smile, but before I go to sleep, I whisper, "Night Eve." And drift away.
The atmosphere of the jungle wasn't anything truly special compared to any other. Most of the trees were far more thicker than ones you would see at Treasure Town or even Apple Woods, but the difference about these trees was the fact that not only did they twist and turn in odd ways, but they had many vines that ran allow their bark, making it quite easy to get to the top.
But if you thought that you could get a better view from up there, you'd be sorely mistaken, as thanks to the many bodies of water that range in all kinds of sizes, and the awkward feeling temperature, there's a heavy body of mist that only gets denser and more uncomferbuly the higher you go.
Tis how this place got it's name, Dense Jungle. And standing right next to a gleaming poll are three Pokemon, each of them having some kind of accessory on them, and the light around them that matches the poll's color slowly disappears.
"Well, that's was a good breakfast, wouldn't you all agree?" Zack says as he starts to streach out his tiny flipper.
The Mawile takes a bite of her apple, leaving it just a core, and then tosses it to her second mouth. "Yeah, let's hope that the supplies will last, or at the very least Team Adventure has enough for themselves."
Daisy then says, "It's for the best that we save as much stuff as we can. With Mystery Dungeons getting more out of hand, it's best if we go with the bare minimum in case something really goes wrong."
Crush then asks, "Speaking of which, how do you think they're doing? You don't think that they're still sleeping or eating?"
The Gardevoir smiles and says, "They'll be here soon. They did have a long day yesterday, and I can also image that the Raboot didn't have the best sleep."
The Ampharos then says, "I won't worry about that. She seemed fine when she got back to the Guild."
"She's always happy to be back home. It's her favorite place in the world." Daisy says.
"And what, you like this place better? Ha, ha!" Zack says as he laughs.
Daisy then turn towards the trees, Crush then tells her, "You better not try to read his mind when he gets here."
Daisy puts her hand up and says, "I know, I know, but even if I wanted to, his mind is a mess."
"Still, I just want to make sure of that. He's going through a lot, so it's best not to over do it."
"No, I really mean his mind really is a mess." Daisy said. "I couldn't help myself, so the dinner when we found out he lost his memory...I might have tried to take a little peak."
Crush chuckles and says, "You really don't like secrets."
Daisy smiles and continues, "Well, it's hard not to when I can do it so easily, but his mind was really weird. Like I was seeing symbols, not actually events. I'm not sure anymon will be able to read his mind if it stays the same."
The poll then starts to blink, which catches the attention of the group. "Speaking of which, here they come now." Zack says as two Pokemon come out of the light.
As soon as I exit out of the light, I begin to stretch out my arms and legs.
"Well, time to start the day!" I say as I finish.
When I take a closer look at the jungle, I start to get worried and ask Lucas, who's just finish up stretching as well. "Uhh, this place isn't a Mystery Dungeon too, right?"
"Well, if it was one, then you should not have been able to arrive here, yet here you two are." I hear come from the Gardevoir, who's standing right next to Crush. Speaking of the word crush, that's how I feel as I, along with Lucas, am lifted into the air, and it's all because of a hug from Zack, but just because he was happy to see us didn't mean and we weren't running out of air very fast.
"Ha, ha! It's good to see you two again. You must have had a whole lot of fun going to Central Mountain for the first time, am I right?" He says with a smile. He then looks down at us and notices that I'm going blue and Lucas is turning a darker shade of it as well.
He then sweats and gently sets us down on the ground, where we both take a big gasp in order to make up for the air we had lost. I wonder if Zack has ever hugged anymon else with the same strength?
"Sorry, you two ok?" He asks, to which I respond, "Have you ever hugged anymon else with the same strength?"
Daisy then answers that, saying, "Trust me. He's a hugger. You have to just get used to it, or try to avoid him when he does."
"Hey!" Zack says, a bit mad. I then look around the jungle and chuckle.
"What's up?" Lucas asks.
I smile and say, "I forgot that fog is a normal thing that can happen, and not a sign of impending doom." Laughing at the end.
Crush then says, "But Zack is right, it's nice to see you two. Did you have a good night's rest?"
Lucas then answers, "Sure did. That Dugtrio sure knows how to run a business. There was even some food that was given out to the guests, but I'm just glad he allowed us to pay him later once we got back to the Guild."
I sigh and say, "Yeah, we weren't expecting to stay there for the night."
"Well, you picked a good night to not come to the Guild." Daisy said. "Zack's plan for dinner didn't pan out exactly like he thought it would."
Zack rubbed the back of his head and said, "Well, that's what happens when you are short of supplies. You got to work with what you got."
I then pick up noises coming from behind me. I then ask, "Hey, is there a village nearby?"
Daisy nods, "Yes, Vine Town, but we're actually going the other way to get to the temple."
"Alright." I say. "But why is the fog so dense? I can barely see ahead of myself."
"This place gets rain upon a lot, and the temperature does no favors either, but because of your type, you probably don't mind it."
I smile and say, "And that's one more reason to be a Fire-Type."
"But it's much thicker down here because of Glass Lake, which is where we're heading." Daisy says as she goes over there.
"But can't just we travel around the lake?" Lucas asks.
Zack chuckles and says, "Well, we could, but that would be one long walk to take. We're going to be taking a relaxing Milotic over to the other side."
I raise an eyebrow, while Lucas' eyes light up. "Wow, really! Isn't that the Pokemon everymon says is the most beautiful?!"
"That's right." Daisy says. "This one in particular is called Zena, and she's the fastest way to get to the other side, but it's still a peaceful ride across. You two will enjoy it."
She pauses as she looks at me closer. She smiles and says, "And don't worry, Red. The raft she pulls has room for you to take a short nap if you want to take one."
I get annoyed by the comment and say, "Thanks, but I don't ne-need..." I then yawn before I could finish my sentence, much to my dismay.
I nervously chuckle as Lucas says, "You and I both know that sleeping has never been something you're too good at." He then whispers, "Besides, maybe you'll get another dream about yourself."
I think about it for a moment. "You could be right. I just don't want to have a nightmare in the end." I say as I think about that dark Raboot I almost drowned to last time. The worst part about dreams is that it seems you only remember the bad parts, and I can still hear his laugh. What the heck was that thing?
Lucas then snaps in front of me and says, "Hey, if you're good, then we can catch up to them."
I blink and say, "Come on, I wasn't phased out for that long."
Lucas doesn't say anything as he dashes over to Team Forever, which makes me worry. "R-right?!"
I then carefully make my way through the jungle, as there are many roots sticking out of the ground, causing the layout to be uneven. Add the fog and my history with walking and stairs, and you got yourself a panicked Raboot who is trying very hard not to trip and slam himself onto the ground.
Thankfully, it doesn't take too long to get to the edge of the lake, where everymon is waiting.
Lucas whispers, "Slowpoke." And chuckles as he looks out to the water. Like the name suggests, this lake is completely flat...and it's also huge. Sure, the fog does help make the water look like it goes on forever, but the size of it from left to right makes it feel like one big circle.
"Do any of you know how big this lake is?" I ask, to which Zack says, "Too big. You could fit two or three towns in the space it fills up. But there is a underwater town for many Water-Type, so I'll let you picture that."
My eyes widen as I say, "Wow, that is big." I continue looking over to the lake, looking for any movement on the water. It doesn't take too long for me to get impatient and ask, "So, where's our ride?"
Crush says, "She'll arrive here soon. All you have to do is pull that rope hanging from that tree." Pointing to...well, a rope hanging from a tree, with a sign next to it saying, 'Pull to summon Milotic'.
I walk over to it, exam it for a moment, and then pull on it.
...
...
Nothing.
"Pull on it a little harder. You have to give it a good one if you want it to work." She says.
I listen to her and give it more of a pull this time.
...
...
But it doesn't seem to change anything. I put two hands on the rope and prepare to give it more than enough, but then I notice small little ripples on the surface near me. No, scratch that, it seems like it's getting bigger-
Something very long then burst from the water, with the beast in question covered in water as it comes out. Fortunately, the water falls off of it as it lifts itself higher into the air, the unfortunate part is where it lands: On me.
I get soaked from head to toes from the mountain of falling water, which reveals the Tender Pokemon. She does some twists and turns in the air as she slowly makes her way down to our level.
She smiles and says, "Hello, it's good to see you three again." To Team Forever.
"Yeah, guess it has been a while sense we last took a trip down the lake." Zack says.
The Milotic then turns to a wet me, and wears a panicked look over her face. "Oh! Sorry about that. I have a bad habit of doing that to Pokemon."
I shake myself like an Eevee and say, "As long as there's a towel to dry myself off with, I think I'll be good."
She breathes a sigh of relief before looking at me again. "Hmm, I've never seen a Pokemon like you before." She then turns to Lucas and says, "And while I have seen a Riolu before, I haven't seen you around these part before." She then says to Daisy, "So, this is Team Adventure?"
Lucas is shocked and speaks before Daisy. "You're right, but how did you know that?"
She laughs and says, "Wigglytuff made sure that when word came out about Mystery Dungeons, she made sure to give the two of you credit for discovering them."
Lucas' tail wags as he says, "R-really! That's awesome!"
She smiles as she moves over to Daisy. "So, I understand that you need to get to the Ground Temple?"
"Yep yep!" Zack says, cutting off Daisy again, as Zena goes over to the side of the lake and pulls out a large raft.
"Well, you picked the best and worse time to go there." She says as she picks a strap over herself to pull the wooden boat.
"Why is that?" I ask as I continue shaking parts of my body.
"Just yesterday, a Mystery Dungeon formed in an area close to the temple."
She answers, "So, there won't be a crowd of Pokemon you have to worry about, but you may want to get out of there before the Mystery Dungeon spreads out further."
I gulp as she says, "Catch!". I then see a blue towel spread out in the air.
I hop into the air to grab it before it gets dirtily from the ground, but it still was a bad idea as I accidently jumped a little too far out ahead of me. I'm sure you can see where this is going...
...
If you guessed I was about to splash into the water, you were right, but if you thought that I was going to land in it, you were almost right, but Zena pulled up her tail out from the water and caught me before I could make a splash.
Her tail might be wet, but it's much better then falling into a lake.
She smiles and says, "Guess you don't know your own strength." Laughing at the end.
I take a sigh of relief and say, "You have no idea." As she sets me down on the raft, where Lucas is the last one to get on the raft as I slide off of her tail.
"Thanks." I say to her.
She smiles and says, "You can thank me after I finish taking you five across the lake. Now, are all of you seated?"
We all nod and Daisy says, "Yep, we're all ready to go."
Zena then says, "Then hold on to something. I don't want anymon to fall into the water when we first take off."
I then sit down and hold onto the rim of the raft as I feel it beginning to be pulled. It's not too strong, but it can cause you to fall down if you were caught off guard. "
Ground Temple here we come!" Lucas says as we make our way through the water. The shore that we were just on disappears into the fog as we continue going forward. I then notice some Fish Pokemon pop out of the water, as if they're saying hello to us.
I then yawn again as I finish off drying myself. Lucas then says, "You know, I can move over to the other side and you can use the towel as a pillow so you can catch some Z's."
Before I have a chance to say something, he gets up, and moves over to the other row of seats.
I grunt and say to myself, "I don't need any..." I then yawn again, which only makes me more mad than before.
...but I guess it's worth a shot. I mean, I'm not going anywhere. I bunch up the towel and place it underneath my head as I lay down on my back.
My thoughts return as I continually say to myself that I'm not that tired and don't need any shut eye...
Which just makes it even more embarrassing for when I fall asleep in almost an instant.
