Earth 401: Spring

3 Weeks after the Sports Festival.

As the relentless downpour fought valiantly against the raging inferno consuming the city, Izuku, Shoto, Snipe, Hawks, and Present Mic found shelter amidst the ruins of what was once UA High. With cautious gestures, they tended to their wounds, acutely aware of the need for silence. Present Mic bore a searing gash that stretched from his shoulder to his abdomen, remnants of a harrowing encounter with a destructive laser. Standing together in somber silence, they silently expressed their gratitude that his injuries weren't more severe.

However, their hearts sank deeper into despair as the cacophony of yet another building collapsing echoed through the desolate landscape, while the ever-present dust continued to paint the sky in shades of gloomy gray.

Strike Team 3, come in," Ryukyu's voice, feeble and strained, fought against the overpowering static of the radio. Her words emerged amidst the tumultuous interference, a desperate plea carrying the weight of their final hope. "You are our last chance to neutralize the Quantum Eigenstate Device. They've discovered our location. I'm sorr...," her sentence abruptly dissolved into agonized cries, mingling with the crackling noise, before the radio abruptly fell silent.

Anxious glances were exchanged among the remaining members of the team, their collective worry mirrored in their eyes as they directed their attention towards Present Mic. In spite of the searing pain etched across his face, he mustered a slow, resolute nod, determined to instill a flicker of hope in his comrades, even amidst the grim reality they faced. As Izuku's grip on Mic's hand gradually relaxed, they all turned together, their gaze fixated on the vista unfolding beyond the gaping hole in the wall.

Stretching out before them sprawled the remnants of what had once been a thriving stadium, evoking poignant memories of the exhilarating sports festivals it had once hosted. But now, the arena stood as a grim testament to the unfathomable devastation that had ravaged their world. Tragic scenes unfolded as lifeless bodies were strewn across the bleachers and scattered across the floor, a haunting testament to the grim toll exacted by the cataclysm. Amidst the desolation, at the very heart of the wreckage, loomed an imposing reactor. Its pulsating glow radiated vibrant, swirling beams of light that pierced defiantly into the heavens, an ominous sight that painted the sky with an ethereal luminescence.

"Snipe, I'll provide cover and carry you to the vantage point," Hawks commanded with unwavering authority, his voice cutting through the chaos as he fought to maintain a semblance of order amidst the turmoil. Addressing Izuku and Shoto, he continued, "Izuku, Shoto, your mission is to target the Quantum Eigenstate Device head-on at full speed. Shoto, erect as many barriers as you can to impede its destruction."

Without hesitation, the four sprang into action, each embracing their assigned roles. They swiftly prepared themselves, their minds focused and their bodies primed for the imminent danger they were about to face. Within mere seconds, they burst forth from the gaping hole in the wall, hurtling towards the desecrated stadium with unwavering determination.

Izuku, agile and nimble, leaped from one rooftop to another, his heart pounding with a mix of adrenaline and dread. In a moment of horrifying realization, he glanced back, witnessing Present Mic's piercing scream, a desperate gambit to divert the Syndicate's attention. Suppressing his rising emotions, Izuku steadied himself and pressed onward, refusing to let fear consume him as he raced toward the mission's objective, finally landing atop the towering stadium.

With a synchronized landing, Shoto, Snipe, and Hawks joined Izuku at the top of the stadium, their shared resolve radiating like an unbreakable bond. As one, they split into two teams, each understanding their crucial roles in the imminent battle that unfolded before them. Snipe and Hawks assumed the daunting task of diverting the attention of the villain who stood at the center of the stadium, tirelessly manipulating sequences within the QED.

Snipe's precise shots pierced the air, expertly aimed at their adversary—revealing the figure to be none other than Owlman. The searing projectiles forced Owlman to momentarily redirect his focus, his attention wrenched away from the device's intricate workings. Seizing the opportune distraction, Izuku tapped into the full extent of One For All, channeling its immense power like never before. A surge of energy coursed through him as he unleashed a devastating display of strength.

As Izuku's One For All surged, the very foundations of the bleachers trembled in response. With a resounding crack, the seating structures were wrenched free from their moorings, hurtling downward in a rapid descent. Izuku maneuvered skillfully, descending with astonishing speed, utilizing the dislodged bleachers as makeshift projectiles, their trajectory aimed at creating chaos and disruption.

In tandem with Izuku's relentless assault, Shoto conjured forth his icy prowess. Calling upon his elemental mastery, he erected a colossal wall of ice, separating Owlman from his two companions. The frozen barrier, formidable and unyielding, stood as a testament to Shoto's unwavering determination to protect his allies and halt the villain's progress.

"Izuku, maintain your focus! I'll hold my ground. The fate of everyone rests on you!" Shoto's voice resounded with unwavering determination as he propelled himself to the pinnacle of the icy wall he had erected. Owlman, cunning and agile, skillfully deflected Snipe's bullets with his cape, deftly evading the scorched feathers unleashed by Hawks' valiant assault. Observing the ongoing battle from his vantage point, Shoto made a decision, going against Hawk's previous orders. With a heavy sigh, he closed his eyes, centering himself before launching himself into a head-on confrontation with Owlman.

Bursts of scorching flames erupted from Shoto's palms as he unleashed his fiery onslaught, only to witness Owlman's metallic suit instantly activating its cybernetics to dissipate the heat, leaving him unfazed. Undeterred, Shoto engaged in close-quarters combat, attempting to land strikes against his formidable opponent. However, Owlman's years of relentless training gave him a decisive edge. Shoto managed to connect with a few blows, thanks to the aid of his powerful quirk, but the cost was steep. Countless cuts and bruises marred Shoto's body as he endured a barrage of strikes from Owlman's razor-sharp claws and fists.

With each subsequent blow, the hydraulics within Owlman's suit ominously ramped up, amplifying the impact of every strike. The pain inflicted upon Shoto escalated exponentially, each hit surpassing the previous one in intensity. Despite the mounting physical toll, Shoto's unwavering determination and unyielding spirit propelled him forward, refusing to back down in the face of overwhelming odds.

Izuku's heart raced, his mind clouded with panic, as he channeled the immense power of One For All to meticulously dismantle the Quantum Eigenstate Device. Panel by panel, he tore through the device, his hands trembling with a mix of fear and determination. Every movement he made carried the weight of his entire world, knowing that a single misstep could lead to catastrophic consequences.

Amidst the frenzied chaos, Izuku's focus sharpened as he pried open the final capsule, revealing a remote hyper drive, a critical component that held the power to teleport the Syndicate away from the impending detonation. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he understood that this crucial part needed to be activated before the explosion. His gaze darted around, taking in the chaotic skirmish unfolding around him, hoping for a moment of respite to make the right decision.

As a relative novice in such matters, Izuku's confidence wavered momentarily. The pressure of the moment weighed heavily on his shoulders, his mind racing to analyze the tangled web of wires before him. Each wire he chose held the potential to determine the fate of countless lives. His fingers hovered over the array of colorful cables, his eyes darting back and forth as he searched for any clue or indication of the correct path to follow. It was a race against time, his intuition and instincts guiding him as he desperately hoped that his choices would lead him to the right wire, the one that would set in motion the chain of events needed to avert catastrophe.

As Owlman gracefully spun above Shoto, Hawks' feather found its mark, cutting through Shoto's shoulder with a searing pain that elicited a cry of anguish. Sensing an opportunity, Owlman swiftly wielded a series of shuriken, launching them towards Shoto with deadly intent.

Reacting with sheer determination, Shoto unleashed a burst of scorching flames beneath his feet, propelling himself into the air in a stunning display of agility. Suspended above the battleground, he watched as the shuriken found their mark, embedding themselves in the ice wall below.

A fiery rage surged within Shoto as his eyes surveyed the devastation that surrounded him—the fallen bodies of teachers and students, a chilling reminder of the immense stakes they faced. "You missed," he declared, his voice laced with a potent mix of determination and fury.

Owlman responded with a sinister grin, his tone dripping with malevolence. "I'm right on target," he retorted, his words laced with an unsettling confidence.

Suddenly, a series of thunderous explosions reverberated through the stadium, sending chunks of ice hurtling in every direction. The force of the blasts exceeded expectations, bypassing the defenses of both Snipe and Hawks. The resulting impact blasted open the hole in the wall, leading directly to where Izuku stood.

Seizing the opportunity, Owlman lunged forward, intent on delivering a fatal blow. However, Shoto swiftly trapped one of Owlman's legs in a vice-like grip of ice, momentarily impeding his advance. Yet, Owlman's super suit activated its countermeasures, forcing Shoto to release his icy hold.

Izuku's heart sank as he observed the perilous situation unfolding before him. Time was running out for him to destroy the Quantum Eigenstate Device. Casting a quick glance upwards, his dread intensified upon witnessing the lifeless bodies of Snipe and Hawks dangling high in the sky, held captive by the formidable Ultraman. To further compound their predicament, Superwoman emerged beside Ultraman, her gaze fixated on the trio, her intentions clear and menacing.

Though engulfed in trepidation, Izuku steeled himself for the imminent confrontation, his mind racing with strategies to overcome the mounting threats that surrounded them.

Izuku's perception of time decelerates to a crawl, each passing second stretching into an eternity as he witnesses Owlman's vice-like grip tightening around Shoto's throat. In this suspended reality, memories surge forward, a whirlwind of images and emotions flooding Izuku's mind. Faces of loved ones, moments of camaraderie, and the unwavering belief in the hero within him cascade before his eyes. Amidst this torrent of recollections, a fleeting glimpse of himself receiving One For All from All Might plays out like a distant specter, emphasizing the weight of his responsibility as a hero.

While he may not possess the strength to save everyone present, he is determined to prevent the Crime Syndicate from ever inflicting harm again. As time abruptly resumes its relentless march, Izuku channels his resolve into action. He clings to the hyper drive with unwavering determination, summoning every ounce of his strength to wrench it free from the Quantum Eigenstate Device and shatter it into oblivion. These final efforts are fueled by the knowledge that by destroying the device, the Crime Syndicate's demise will be sealed alongside his universe.

Yet, amidst the struggle, a surge of anguish ripples through Izuku's chest and spine, a searing pain radiated through his body. His lifeblood splatters upon Superwoman's black and yellow leotard. He falls to the ground, each following breath shorter than the last. He watches in horror as the Crime Syndicate all gather around the QED as Ultraman, Atomica, Johnny Quick, and Power Ring approach.

"Seventh world down, on to the next!" Ultraman's voice reverberates with a chilling mix of triumph and sadism, his twisted smile spreading across his face like a malevolent stain. With a sickening glee, he brandishes Snipe's Hero License in his hand, a symbol of everything the Syndicate has triumphed over. He toys with it, twirling it around his fingers like a sinister puppeteer, mocking the very essence of heroism it represents. With a dismissive sneer, he tucks it away, adding it to his ever-growing collection of stolen insignias and badges.

Meanwhile, Owlman, steps toward the QED. His cold, calculating eyes fixate on the QED, an instrument of unparalleled destruction. With a malicious grin dancing on his lips, he engages the sequence, triggering a cacophony of harrowing and ear-piercing noises that fill the air. The QED springs to life, pulsating with malevolent energy as it prepares to fulfill its nefarious purpose.

In an instant, the Crime Syndicate vanishes from sight, consumed by a blinding flash of light that engulfs the world they once knew. The detonation of the QED radiates a warm white glow, consuming everything in its path with a force that eradicates all traces of existence. The world that once teemed with life, hope, and heroes is reduced to mere atoms, swallowed by the unforgiving maw of annihilation.

The familiar world that Izuku once knew began to fade away, gradually replaced by an all-encompassing void. In this desolate expanse, an eerie silence enveloped him, accentuating his profound sense of isolation. Drifting aimlessly for what felt like eons, he became intimately acquainted with the bitter coldness that clung to him, intensifying his feelings of loneliness, fear, and profound sadness.

Lost amidst this endless nothingness, Izuku's thoughts turned inward, burdened by an overwhelming guilt that seemed to grow with each passing moment. He couldn't shake the nagging feeling that he had let down his friends, that he had failed them in their time of need. In his heart, he yearned for reassurance that they wouldn't blame him, desperately hoping that they would understand the immense effort he had put forth. But they were all gone now, lost to him forever.

As regret gnawed at his soul, Izuku found solace in contemplating the possibilities that might have altered their fate. Perhaps if All Might had chosen someone else to inherit One For All, someone stronger or more skilled, they could have emerged victorious. The weight of these hypothetical scenarios settled upon him, weaving a fragile tapestry of what-ifs and alternate realities. Maybe, just maybe, in a different world, things would have turned out differently, and his friends would have been safe and sound.

Yet, even as these thoughts offered a fleeting glimmer of hope, Izuku couldn't escape the truth that lingered in the emptiness around him. The past couldn't be rewritten, and the decisions made could not be undone. He was left to bear the burden of his perceived failures, grappling with the knowledge that he had done everything within his power and yet still fell short.

In this profound solitude, Izuku's mind raced, replaying memories of battles fought, sacrifices made, and bonds forged. The pain of their absence weighed heavily upon his heart, intertwining with his own self-doubt. But amid the desolation, he hears a disembodied voice call out from the void.

"I am sorry, little one. I was not strong enough to intervene," the disembodied voice murmured, its concern palpable and stirring a sense of unease within Izuku. Despite his desperate attempts to move or catch a glimpse of anything within the deep void, he found himself floating aimlessly, the ambient drift of the voice offering no solace yet. However, as the voice continued its speech, a curious tranquility washed over him, slowly easing his troubled mind.

"I can give you another chance at life… another chance to take down the Crime Syndicate" The voice, while lacking a tangible form, resonated with a human quality that struck a chord deep within Izuku's being. It emanated immense power, yet there was an unmistakable familiarity in its cadence as if it carried the weight of shared experiences.

"My power comes at a price," the voice echoed through the void, its words piercing Izuku's consciousness like a bolt of lightning. "The memory of these last weeks will fade, leaving behind only the anticipation of what lies ahead—a sense of impending apocalypse." The weight of these words settled upon Izuku, threatening to crush his spirit. The grief over the loss of everyone he had ever known, the pain of their deaths, threatened to overwhelm him. Yet, in the depths of his despair, he recognized the significance of this opportunity. He knew he might never be granted such a chance again.

Summoning his resolve, Izuku fought back the tears that threatened to cascade down his cheeks. He gathered the remnants of his shattered strength and slowly attempted to convey a "Yes" from within the void. As his affirmation reverberated through the emptiness, a subtle shift stirred within his senses. It was as if he transitioned from a private conversation to a grand assembly, where the speaker's offer resonated with all who listened.

"I may not possess the means to transport all of you at this moment, but given time, I will grant you another chance... another ray of hope," declared the Voice, its words ringing with unwavering conviction. And with those final words, Izuku's senses began to fade, one by one, until he found himself enveloped in profound stillness. Adrift in the void, he patiently awaited where the promise of redemption lingered.

Sorry that I haven't been consistent with a story. I kinda had to drop out of college and move so I haven't been able to continue my fics, and when I returned to them I just wasn't hooked into that plotline anymore.
Thanks for the read :3
