A/N: New chapters for my stories are instantly updated to my P atreon, under the same username, as soon as I finish writing them! I will still post new chapters here, just much slower as I'm putting all my focus on P atreon. I really appreciate all the support I've received from this site, which is why I will not stop posting here, just slowing down. I keep an updated list of the chapters I've posted so far on P atreon on my profile, just so you guys know what to look forward to when I eventually post them here ^^

If anyone has any questions or concerns about me posting on P atreon, please PM me about it and I will explain the move, but please don't post a review about it, please leave reviews to be just that: a review about the story. There was a lot of thought and research about moving to P atreon and I'm more than happy to explain it all. But please, above all else, enjoy the chapter! =D

Hunting for humans in the Alaskan territory wasn't ideal for Victoria. The biggest problem was that it would get back to the other vampires relatively quickly that a vampire was hunting in the area. She wanted to avoid notice at all cost; she didn't need her gift to know that hunting would ruin that. She also needed to get a better idea of who exactly she was dealing with. She had heard rumors that the ancient succubae lived there. She wasn't as old as their story was and so wanted to stay clear of them in case they were hostile. There were too many unknowns with that coven to be able to get close to them and Victoria was sure, she was willing to bet her life on it, that that was where the Cullen's had taken her mate to.

She had to keep as close as possible to try and get as much information as possible. If those succubae were just as lethal as they were when Victoria was a young vampire, then she would do well to avoid them as much as possible. She would need to get friends, but she was hoping to avoid that. The less people involved when there was a human in the equation, the better. She didn't want rumors to start; although, with Laurent, the man with the biggest gift of Gab Victoria had ever met, likely already started talking. But she would deal with that later. She wasn't concerned.

With an utter look of disgust, Victoria resorted to hunting animals. As much as she didn't want to, she had zero desire for it, it was safest to stay undetected while gathered as much information as she could. She wasn't sure how long she would stick to just gathering information; she had to move fast because she didn't trust James and his obsession problems. But she didn't want to rush in and get killed in the process. She had to stay alive and she had to protect her; if that meant living off of disgusting animals for a period of time, well, that just showed how much she already loved her mate.

Bella had woken up just over an hour ago and Carmen had been fussing with her ever since. The brunette vampire had made sure there were plenty of blankets so Bella wouldn't get cold. She made sure Bella had as many pillows she could ever need and made sure she had complete access to their T.V. and attached streaming services so she could watch whatever she wanted. Bella was thankful that the brunette vampire hadn't followed up with her offer to help Bella shower as the human was still a bit unsteady on feet.

When she had first woken up and Carmen was sure there were no lingering effects that would cause real harm, just some small side-effects that would ware off in the next few days, Carmen and the others were going to take her downstairs and talk with her. They wanted more information from her that likely only she or Edward could provide. But when Carmen first saw her fully awake, she saw the humans eyes and had to cut herself off from hissing in anger.

She had to take a couple deep breaths before talking to the human to make sure she was completely comfortable; Carmen felt so guilty for what her kind had done to the human that she may have gone a little overboard and smothered the human a little. As soon as Bella was settled in the bed again with a show playing, she retreated back downstairs, letting her anger finally take over as her eyes quickly turned black.

No one had moved from their spots downstairs, they had all silently waited for Carmen to come back and when they saw how angry the normally fair tempered woman was, they all got concerned. Before anyone could ask anything though, she immediately turned on the Cullen's.

"How could you two not notice?" Carmen hissed, barely remembering to keep her volume in check to make sure the human couldn't hear.

Both of the younger vampires immediately tensed. Carmen may have been their friend, but not only was she technically not part of their coven, she was also a lot older than even their coven leader and therefore, technically a threat if provoked enough. Rosalie had to grip Emmett's shoulder to keep him seated; out of the two of them, she was best at handling confrontation. She didn't want Emmett to get a defensive stance in case it provoked Carmen in some way.

"What do you mean?" Rosalie asked, making sure to keep all emotion out of her tone. She didn't want to seem afraid in front of her friend; she didn't want to appear weak. She had to tread carefully until they could figure out what exactly Carmen was upset about and resolve it.

"Her eyes." Carmen hissed, "How could you not notice her eyes?" That had the rest of the coven's attention. Initially they had just thought perhaps Carmen was upset because of how cold the human had been and perhaps there had been worse effects she had noticed than initially realized. But mentioning the human's eyes, that made all the ancient vampires in the house realize what was going and why Carmen was so mad. They were just as upset.

The whole room focused on the pair of Cullen's. All of their gazes intense and barely concealed anger in some while both Carmen and Kate had no issues showing their anger. They hadn't seen the humans eyes, but the Denali's knew Carmen wouldn't mistake a glamoured human's eyes. It was the vampires easiest way to hunt and they had all done it. What they hadn't done because while there wasn't specifically a rule against it, it was deeply frowned upon in vampire society to keep a human glamoured because of all the negative mental effects it caused. If Bella was glamoured, then they had bigger problems than they originally thought.

"What's wrong with her eyes?" Rosalie asked, both her and Emmett's thoughts immediately going to the fact that she had been outside in the freezing snow for so long and perhaps had opened her eyes too much and they got hurt from either the cold, wind or even sun glare from the snow. They couldn't forgive themselves if that was the case; they had tried so hard to just get her away from Edward and then to do what they could to protect her as they ran to safety.

"How can you ask that?" Carmen asked with venom in her tone. She took a step forward either as a threat or warning Tanya wasn't sure, she quickly stood and took over because from all her interactions with the Cullen's, she wasn't surprised Carlisle hadn't done his job properly as a sire.

"Calm sister." Tanya said in a low tone as a warning. Carmen huffed but knew not to say anything, and moved to be next to her mate. He could always calm her when she needed it and right then, Carmen needed him to help her keep her calm unless she does something that would garner the human's attention and they weren't ready for that yet. "How much do you two know, about what happens when we glamour a human?" Tanya asked as Carmen took her new spot.

Rosalie and Emmett gave each other confused looks; not knowing why she would ask that in their current situation. There were more important things to talk about, like why Carmen hadn't brought Bella with her so they could all talk with the human to get more information on what Edward's end goal may have been.

"Um, well, from what I've done, it was enough to entice my singer to get closer to me so I could kill him and drain him." Emmett answered. He had, for years, been ashamed that he had fallen victim to his vampire tendencies, but time with the Denali's had made him realize that there was really nothing to feel guilty about like Carlisle made him feel, he was a vampire that had eaten his prey. Nothing more, nothing less.

Kate scoffed, because of course they didn't know, and Irina rolled her eyes. Perhaps instead of turning in Carlisle for letting a human know their secret, they should report him for negligence as a coven leader and sire. Eleazar kept a stoic look, waiting to pass judgment on the barely no longer newborns until he heard everything.

"Have either of you ever tried to glamour someone for longer than just quickly killing them?" Tanya asked, careful to not make assumptions before she passed judgment on them. Everyone in her coven had willing glamoured humans many times in their years, and only once had each of them kept someone glamoured for longer than a day. They had all been curious at some point to see what they big deal was and what Tanya had seen was more pitiful that anything.

"I've never glamoured anyone before." Rosalie immediately answered, "I had only hunted a small group of humans right after I was changed and I didn't let them live long enough to glamour them much less have them glamoured for more than a day." They all knew Rosalie's story of how she was changed and what she did; she was lucky the Volturi hadn't gotten involved. They were sure they had caught wind of it though since there was very little that the Volturi didn't know about; Rosalie had likely killed just enough to stay under their radar for them not to get involved.

"Not really," Emmett answered, "When I hunted for a human it was only because I lost control, never to actually hunt so it was always about speed, nothing more."

"I was afraid of that." Tanya said as she loosened up her stance, therefore allowing her own coven to calm silently as their leader calmed and more importantly, it let the younger ones know they weren't in danger with a coven of much older vampires angry at them. "Now we have even more to talk about." Tanya said with a sigh as she fell back into the seat, silently cussing about vampires not being able to drink because a nice shot of the strongest vodka she could find would be amazing. This day was turning out to be a really bad that was sure to lead to a lot more problems for her in the very near future.

"Carlisle had done you guys a bigger disfavor than you realize." Irina said with a stern stare, "There's more to glamour than just using to get a quick bite."

"The damage it causes to humans can be irreparable." Kate said with a frown, ashamed for her so-called cousin that definitely knew better hadn't even attempted to educate these younglings that he had sired. Being a sire was a big responsibility and clearly, Carlisle couldn't be trusted with it.

"El, would you mind explaining to them what exactly happens to a human under glamour for extended periods of time?" Tanya asked, worrying the younger vampires. If Tanya was giving control of the conversation to Eleazar, that meant the Volturi had done experiments with glamour and if the Volturi hadn't made it a law to not glamour, which as a vampire's main tool to eat they likely never would, or released more information about what happens so anyone could access the info through the appropriate channels, that meant they didn't want the information out there. There was a reason for that.

"Certainly." Eleazar said with a nod of his head, already expecting it. "First and foremost, a lot of people tend to think that being glamoured is like getting a high from drugs, and while there are similarities, it's a bit more involved than that."

Both Rosalie and Emmett had their complete attention on Eleazar, listening to every word he said. They had already guessed Carlisle was keeping a lot of information from them, but they were predicting they were about to learn a lot of what Carlisle should have done; something Tanya shouldn't have to do but clearly would when needed. They both couldn't help but think that Tanya was a much better coven leader than Carlisle and they both wished they had been sired by her instead of Carlisle.

"While the human being glamoured initially wants to be around what they were glamoured by, it eventually turns to more than just wanting to be near them. Eventually a sense of loyalty and longing develops, almost similar to a mating bond on the human side. In all honesty, it's not a very good story to tell, but in the end, the human because completely pliant to what the vampire wants and practically loses their identity. If the vampire is taken away, in most cases, the human rarely gets their original personality back. They all practically become a shell of themselves. In some cases, they develop part of their personality back but also develop a strong case of depression and still never quiet end up like themselves; if left alone with humans, they kill themselves."

Eleazar continued to talk and explain that humans initially act like they are addicted to the vampire but eventually that reaction wears down and the human almost becomes like a puppet; acting how and doing what the vampire in control wants. If the vampire leaves, the human becomes almost zombie like in the initial loss, the glazed over look is a dead giveaway to any vampire that knows better that the human is glamoured and obviously claimed. What worried all the vampires was that they weren't sure exactly how long Bella had been glamoured for if not from the start since it was unlikely since Edward was somewhat afraid of Bella when they first met, but also how Bella would be after the glamour completely wore off. It could take days or weeks, but eventually Edward's glamour would ware off and then Bella would either just be a zombie only doing as told or she could be completely depressed.

Tanya could swear she felt a headache approaching as she thought about the vampires that were hunting the human, Carlisle and his obsession with tearing mates apart and then the secret mate relationship that apparently neither Carlisle or Edward wanted anyone to know about for whatever reason. There were a lot of problems that Tanya had to deal with and quite frankly, she was starting to regret ever meeting the coven. But she had and now she had a glamoured human in her house; she had a really big mess to clean and it wasn't going to be easy.

At least Kate would stop complaining about being bored. Perhaps this was karma for Tanya not letting Kate get involved all the early wars North America had about territories when she claimed she wanted to join to just have a little fun.

What they all neglected to realize and what Rosalie and Emmett had only briefly mentioned, was that Bella was just the average human who had been glamoured. She had a gift, and with that gift, the glamoured effects were not nearly as effective on Bella as Edward had hoped. They barely worked on her only because of her curiosity opening a small window for effectiveness. But as Bella sat in the bed, not really watching whatever show it was that was on, she came to a decision. She wanted to stay away from the Cullen's. She wanted to stay away from Edward. In her perfect world the beautiful redhead would steal her away and someday Bella would figure out how talk in front of and then to the redhead. But in the real world, Bella just wanted these new vampires to keep her away from Edward and his stalker addiction to her. Bella could only see this as the perfect opportunity to try and get Edward away from her. She just had to figure out why her head seemed so fogged over; like she had taken sleeping pills but didn't feel the sleepy affects, just the fogginess that she normally felt just before falling sleep. Like she couldn't keep focused, her mind just blanking on her for a few seconds before focusing back to what she was previously. That was going to be a problem for future Bella though, in the meantime, she was just going to relax and go with the flow until the vampires downstairs that were obviously talking about her decided she could join the conversation.
