"Now Luz did you do create the mixture exactly like I told you?"

"Yes Amity, I got the mixture right and let it set for five hours. Even Eda and Lilith double checked so can we please get to the good stuff?" Patiance was never her greatest attribute. Just wafting for the mixture to settle had been agonizing.

With her magic skills growing day by day and her curiosity at its peak Luz was finally putting her countless hours of listening to her teachers to work. Namely by finally trying out her friends magic. Sumnoing abominations, creating illusions, healing, taming beasts, spectral orcale projections, earth shaping construction and creating and controlling plants. Sure I could do some of that before but now I can do it all. Not to mention all the magic not rooted to the main covens.

She was of course absolutely not doing this because her progress in glyph magic had stalled.

All I can do is fire and light!? Even then their either too strong or too weak. "Every titan has their own custom designs for magic Luz" could have told me that sooner collector!

Taking a deep breath, she calmed down. No, it's fine, just try which magic then circle back to titan magic.

Not surprisingly her friends had been overjoyed when she'd asked them and had rushed to the owl house as soon as she'd called them. The'd even brought their parents, something Luz was sure was done more out of a desire to either stop their parental pleading. But that was fine, after she'd met Willow's dads before, and they were great people. Gus's dad was also pretty cool, although he did constantly act as though he was on tv with his permeant announcer's voice. Even Alador had shown up with Emira and Edric. When he arrived, he said "A chance to help my daughter's girlfriend lean abomination magic and get away from my soon to be ex-wife, how could I refuse?" The twins later told her that Odalia was using every trick in the book to not divorce, entirely of course to keep close to Amity. What she hadn't expected was for Hunter along with Darius and Eberwolf to show up. He'd been a bit distant since returning, which everyone understood as the death of Flapjack was still haunting their nightmares. He'd told them he was staying with Darius for the time being, seeing he was technically homeless. Darius had nonchalantly told him "My home is your home Hunter." Hunter had thanked him before hesitantly asking where Camila was. "She went back to the human world really quick. She should be back anytime now."

"Okay... I mean yeah that's fine, not that I'm worried or miss her or anything. I- I just don't want anything to happen to her is all. She did shelter me and..." His face reddening, he tried to shut up, but Willow and Luz weren't having it.

"Annnnnnddddd?" seeing Willow's teasing glance he quickly said "wasthemotherIneverhad!"

Darius did his best to hide his slight jealousy all but confirming his attachment to Hunter while Alador laughed before he and Darius studied her abomination mixture. "A good beginner mixture, good enough to summon an arm or head." Alador said while Darius raised his hand turning it into goo. "Are you sure you wouldn't rather transform your body instead of relying on prepaid goo? I can personally assure you it's worth while. All the abomination coven leaders could do this."

Luz did want to do that. However, imagining her body turning into goo and covered in eyes just screamed "Monster Belos" so it was a major pass, at least for the time being. "Maybe one day, right now I just want to start small. I mean I'm guessing that is more advanced magic, should probably stay with beginner magic."

"Yes, perhaps it is for the best, Amity how about you? Alador has taught you well and you've more than demonstrated the necessary skills."

Her eyes lit up and after looking at her dad for approval he nodded. "Yes! But first let's get Luz up and practicing. Alright Luz, you've seen me do this a thousand times."

Focusing on what she remembered, Luz twirled her finger seeing it light up with the pink magic as the words left her mouth. "Abomination rise!"

The cauldron began to bubble and glow as the magical ooze came to life and a strangely blue abomination hand rose from it giving her a thumbs up. "I did it, I did it!" Amity nearly crushed her seeing the hand move back and forth as Luz twirled her finger.

"I knew you could do it Luz!" A bit embarrassed, Luz lost focus and the hand disappeared back into the cauldron. "ehhh..."

"Don't worry Luz, the first few times usually don't last long." she peered into the cauldron gazing at the blue ooze. "Even got your own custom color. Not quite sure how you got that with just a premade basic mixture. Usually, you need to had a special dye for that, but then again, you're always full of surprises."

Willow was next prying Amity from Luz, her eagerness taking over. "Okay my turn with Luz. I've waited too long to try this with you. Your plant glyphs were nice and all, but it never quite showed the true potential of plants." Her dads got a worried look and hesitantly said "Now Willow we know your excited..."

But Willow wasn't listening as she pulled out a dirt filled pot. "We're growing fanged plants!"

"Wait, you mean those teethy plants that always tried eat us in class."

"Yep!"

"Awesome! I've tried to grow them before both magically and normally, but nothing ever sprouted." They were a basic plant to grow and were borderline animalistic when fully bloomed. As such Luz had desperately wanted one.

"Well don't worry I've already nurtured the seed, all it needs now is some magic. Now it should be easier seeing as mine was the first you truly interacted with." the smug expression she shot Amity made the young witch glare at her with jealously.

With a growl she wished Luz luck and went to train with Darius.

"Okay just give it magic, I can do this."

Come on plants! Just focus annnnddddd... the magic flowed through her as the green circle formed and she saw the small bud emerge from the dirt. Willow was barely containing her excitement as eyed the grin Luz had. For her this wasn't just teaching her friend her favorite magic, no this was her chance to truly cement her friendship with Luz. Not that she doubted Luz was her friend of course, after all they'd been through in both worlds, they were friends for life. But for Willow a little magical bonding would settle any doubts.

One flick of her finger and the plant burst up letting out a toothy snarl as it lashed out at everything. "I did it!" hearing a voice it tried to snap at Luz, but she simply snapped her fingers. "No! Bad plant" to her surprise it reared back and allowed her to pet it.

"There you are, such a good plant, I'll raise you big and strong." Seeing Luz gently stroke the fanged plant and seeing it move to fully embrace her hand was adorable. It was still hostile as Gus learned when he got to close.

"Hey!"

"Sorry about that, guess I need to teach chompy jr what not to bite." No one was even remotely surprised that Luz had already named it.

"Don't worry Luz their pretty easy to tame. Now how about we move on to summoning vines?"

Upon hearing this Luz let out a happy squeal accidentally activating her new magic and causing a vine to shoot out and hang Willow upside down similar to their very first meeting.

"Oops."

To her surprise Willow wasn't mad or even remotely upset. In fact, she was ecstatic as she swayed back and forth. "Not bad Luz, excellent hold, nice healthy green, oh and well developed thrones. I've taught you well." Her dad's and Hunter weren't as happy and quickly rushed to pull her down.

"Willow are you okay? Those thorns looked like they hurt." he said checking her body.

"Hunter I'm fine. Nothing I can't handle." As his hands reached her face and they locked eyes they became unable to look away. When they started blushing and turning red one of Willow's dads gently broke them apart saying "not while I'm alive."

Luz let out a disappointed sigh, both from losing her plant teacher, but also not being able to watch the embarrassing sight of the all but unofficial lovers.

Wait a minute... oh god I was like that wasn't I? No, I was probably even more oblivious.

Snapping her out of her thoughts were three magical clones, each one pointing down to Gus.

"Time to teach you the best magic of all."

"Love?"

"Second best."

"Friendship?"

"No, I-"

"I'm just messing with you Gus. Teach me all that you know. I'm ready for everything. So, what's first? Magical clones? turning invisible? No wait, I kind of had that already with glyphs."

In true Gus fashion he snapped his fingers and giant t-rex appeared letting out a mighty roar that started all the parents.

"What kind of monster is that!?" Darius asked, turning his arm into a blade while Alador admired it. "Fascinating, is it some kind of dragon offshoot? I'm not seeing any traces of wings only those tiny arms, it must make up with its powerful legs and jaw strength. Perhaps even fire breath." The children couldn't help but laugh recalling the many monster movies they'd had in the human world.

"It's called a Tyrannosaurus Rex, or T-rex for short. It was an apex predator that lived on Earth millions of years ago. Now all that's left of them are lifeless bones. Still, they do make for some great movie monsters." Gus said making its powerful body move toward them teeth bared. His father proudly smiled at his son saying, "This just in, I've never been prouder! Also please tell me there are other creatures like this."

The twins eyed the creature with eyes similar to their father as they studied it's form their minds already thinking of what pranks they could form with it.

"Alright Luz first rule of illusions, know your illusion. The more details you know, the easier and more realistic it will be. So, first lesson I want you to focus on a creature that you know inside and out."

Her mind drawn to the T-rex she'd seen hundreds of times in her favorite dinosaur series, she knew the perfect creature. "Well since you've brought up the villain Prehistoric Brawl there's' only one creature that I can choose." Focusing on the memory, she summoned the main hero of the movie. With a massive explosion of bluish white smoke, a giant albino gorilla with scars on its chest appeared before beating it's chest at its foe.

Sadley as it took a step forward Luz felt weak, and the illusion vanished.

"Oh god... I've been tired but never like this."

"I'd say you're probably reaching your magical limit. Especially after making an illusion that big. Don't worry though, the more you practice the greater your magic grows." Her body growing tired, she summoned Stringbean just to steady herself.

"Now I know how Eda felt when I made her show me one more spell that night."

Gus helped her to her seat where he was promptly abducted by the twins how relentlessly asked him questions about earth creatures. Within five minutes the yard was filled with various dinosaurs and as well as possums for some strange reason.

All Luz could do was laugh at the sight. Well, that and watch enamored as Amity succeeded in turning her hair into flowing purplish goo as her eyes glowed. Hunter took a seat next to her having regained enough of himself to ask a simple question.

"So stupid question I know, but how are you holding up?"

"Are you kidding? I'm great! Sure, I've never felt this drained before but I'm at least learning magic again." His eyes narrowed, giving her a knowing look before she relented.

"Let's just say these wholesome distractions are helping. Keeps me from focusing on the fact I'm probably at least sixty percent titan now."

"Only sixty? I'd say with the tail you're at least at seventy five."

"What?! Her body whipped around so fast she fell of her seat only to see him smiling.

"Just kidding."

She wanted to be mad, truly she wanted to throw him into the sea. But in all honesty, it was a pretty good trick for someone that still didn't understand practical jokes. "Shut up and bring me snacks."

"Sure Luz, you just take it easy." she'd get him back later. Right now, she was just going to lay there and relax.
