Afternoon

Elena was on the phone with Stefan when Jenna passed by with a load of laundry.

"Elena, I thought you were at that bake sale for cheerleading? I didn't even know you were home," Jenna scolded, putting down the heavy basket.

"Jenna, I'm on the phone! Are you blind?" Elena snapped back.

"Off the phone now!" Jenna ordered, tapping her foot.

Jenna looked around the cream-colored bedroom. She stared at the horse portrait a moment and noticed Elena's teddy bear was on the floor.

"What?" Elena snapped, irritated.

Jenna put her hands on her hips, saying, "Ric said you were at the Mikaelsons last night. What's going on?"

Elena huffed, "It's not good. Damon and his new uncle got attacked. They are sick with something. Jenna, you know about vampires now. They don't get sick. Stefan is over there now. Bonnie's working on a spell. He thinks they will be okay, but they need me to go over there. I have to go."

Jenna frowned, "I'm sorry Damon is sick, but I thought you were at Bonnie's last night. You should have called before you went over there. We discussed this. I need to know where you are."

"Jenna, I'm 17! Bonnie had to meet someone and plans changed. I met this guy at the hospital and he wanted to meet at Whitmore. Big deal," Elena scoffed.

"Yes, it is a big deal. So you went to a college party? Is that what I'm hearing?" Jenna inquired.

"Yup, like you didn't drink in high school...I don't get why you are being so uptight about this," Elena said, getting up to go over to her dresser to charge her phone.

"I don't want you drinking with college kids, you're too young," Jenna replied, trying to stay calm. "If we can't trust you, I'm going to have to take your car keys."

Elena's eyes flew open wider, and her voice rose, "No way! This is bullshit. I was with Caroline, it's not like we were getting trashed. We had a couple of drinks. Bonnie was driving," Elena defended.

"Look, I'm not saying you are not responsible. I trust you, but it's the other kids I don't trust. Are you telling me the Sheriff was good with Caroline partying at Whitmore? Maybe I should give her a call?" Jenna announced, pulling out her phone.

Elena turned and tried to grab the phone out of Jenna's hand. They struggled briefly.

"What has gotten into you? You and your brother are completely out of control! Ric is dealing with him now," Jenna said, yanking her phone back. "Maybe I ought to deal with you the same way!"

Elena smirked, "You can try to ground me. I'll just have Stefan come and sneak me out the window. You think I haven't done that before! Stop trying to be a bitch about things. I need to leave!"

Jenna's face stiffened, she couldn't push this one on Ric, too. Jenna made a decision, she grabbed Elena's forearm.

"You know, I've tried being sympathetic and giving you kids room to work things out, but I see I've been too lenient," Jenna said. "You are acting like a petulant five year old. Maybe I ought to treat you like one."

Elena screamed, "Stop! What are you doing? Jenna?"

Jenna pulled Elena toward her unmade bed and sat down. She dragged her slender niece over her lap with a strength she didn't know she possessed. Elena was so shocked, she didn't realize what happened until she felt the first smack on her thin sweats.

Slap.

"Jenna! Are you spanking me?" Jenna screeched, trying to push herself up. But Jenna's elbow was pinning down her back and Jenna's right leg trapped Elena's calves.

Slap. Slap.

"Yes! That is exactly what I am doing, young lady," Jenna fired back.

Elena hardly felt anything except a dull warmth on her bottom, until Jenna peeled down her sweats.

Smack! Smack!

Jenna swatted Elena's blue underpants harder. Smack!

Elena jerked as she actually felt that whack.

"Ouch! Jenna, damn it. This is r-ridiculous," Elena wailed. Smack. Smack.

"Your behavior is ridiculous," Jenna retorted, lifting her right hand higher. "Someone should have done this a long time ago!"

Smack. Smack.

"I'm going to-, fuck, owwwww, call the Sheriff on you!" Elena threatened.

Jenna swatted Elena's bare upper thigh getting another yelp out of the angry teen.

Smack!

"Go ahead. She ought smack Caroline's disobedient backside herself," Jenna answered, smacking harder. Jenna's hand was starting to ache. She had never spanked anyone before and she wasn't sure it was working.

Smack.

"I'm going to have Stefan kill you!" Elena roared, trying again to squirm off her aunt's lap.

"Fine, but after I heated up your butt good and taught you a lesson," Jenna replied, pulling down Elena's panties with her right hand. She had to release her hold and use both hands and Elena almost succeeded in pushing off of her lap. But Jenna quickly pushed her wiggling niece back flat over her lap.

Crack! Crack!

Jenna's palm swatted Elena's now bare right cheek twice in the same spot, causing the girl to holler. Then, she peppered the left cheek with two hard whacks. Crack! Crack!

"Ahhhhhhh," Elena moaned, shifting uselessly. "Stoooooppp."

But Jenna ignored her niece's protests, she continued to pop the center of each cheek with multiple spanks. After a minute or so, Elena's behind was turning a rosy shade of pink.

Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!

Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!

After Jenna heard the stubborn teen start to cry, she forced herself to continue. She knew she should be ashamed of herself to have to resort to this, especially with her background in psychology, yet she felt that Elena was crying out for discipline and limits.

"I love you, Elena. And I won't let you throw away your future. Yes, I partied a lot. I hate to tell you but those college parties get busted. You can get arrested, lose your license, and get fined. Is that what you want?" Jenna prodded, smacking a bit lower on Elena's backside.

Crack! Crack!

"Owwwww! No! No, I-I d-don't," Elena exclaimed, twisting to try to throw back a hand, but Jenna's arm blocked it.

Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!

Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!

"Well, I don't want that for you either," Jenna said. "There are going to be *Smack!* some big changes around here. *Smack!* You ask before you leave *Smack!* the house. You stay *Smack!* away from partying and start *Smack!*helping around the house. You should *Smack!*be an example for Jeremy. He looks *Smack!*up to you.*Smack!* Am I getting through *Smack!* to you?"

"Yes!" Elena shouted, through her sobs. Was Jenna ever going to stop? Her bottom was ablaze, she couldn't take anymore. "I-I'm s-sorrry!"

Jenna's paused and shook out her sore hand. Elena's behind was getting uniformly red. She gave her niece a last flurry of hard swats of the center of her crimson rear and stopped.

Slap! Slap! Slap! Slap! Slap!

Slap! Slap! Slap! Slap! Slap!

Jenna exhaled, "The next time you disobey, I'm going to use Grandma's hairbrush on you. Do you understand?"

Elena just sobbed and didn't answer.

Jenna popped her twice on her sit spots firmly. Whack! Whack!

"I want an answer," Jenna demanded.

"YES! I get it. The hairbrush," Elena wailed.
Jenna heard Ric and Jeremy come in downstairs. Elena's door was wide open.

Jenna unhooked her leg and pulled up Elena's parties and sweats.

"Okay, I think your brother and Ric are home," Jenna said quietly. Jeremy ran up the stairs as Elena was crawling off of Jenna's lap.

"Oh God, her, too?" Jeremy expounded.

"Jeremy, go to your room. I'll be in to talk to you in minute," Jenna said, wearily. "Can you shut the door, please?"

Jeremy shut the door and Elena stood, rubbing out her sore backside.

Jenna stood, unsure of what to do, saying, "I'm sorry, honey. I didn't want to do that, but you've been out of control for a while. Do you hate me?"

Elena sobbed again and hugged Jenna, needing the comfort after that ordeal.
"No, I'm s-ssorrry. I shouldn't have s-said I'd have S-Stefan d-do that," Elena wept. "You're a-all we h-have left."

Jenna cried and put her hand in Elena's hair as they embraced.

"Come on, let's get you cleaned up," Jenna said gently, as she grabbed a wad of tissues from the bedside table. She had Elena blow her nose and wipe her face.

"Stefan told me it s-sucked to get s-spanked, but I h-had no i-idea," Elena sniffed.

"Yes, your mom and I got it a couple of times with that hairbrush," Jenna mused. "Of course, we were little. Maybe if I still got spanked later, I wouldn't have made all the mistakes I did."

Elena looked at Jenna with surprise, saying, "I didn't know that. Mom never mentioned it."

"Well, your mom was always better behaved. I guess I was the one testing the limits. Now, look at me, 30 and still in school," Jenna laughed.

"Yeah, but you are getting your PHD," Elena defended. "Jenna, I r-really am sorry. I don't know what gets into me, but I really do need to get to Mikealsons. They need my blood for that spell."

"Oh," Jenna said. "Um, are you okay to drive?"

Elena winced and felt her stinging backside.

"My butt is throbbing. Maybe Ric can drive me?" Elena asked.

Jenna hugged her again. "You get ready. I'll go ask him. You just get right back here. I don't want you in danger. Okay?"

Jenna brushed Elena's dark hair back.

Elena gulped and smiled, "Yes, ma'am, I understand."

"Good," Jenna said. "And honey, I do have that hairbrush. I meant that."
Elena flushed and nodded, "You won't need it. I promise."

"Good. Because you can lose your car and your ability to sit comfortably. When it comes to your and your brother's safety, I'm not going to comprise," Jenna warned, walking out.

Elena nodded and then turned to her dresser mirror. As soon as her door shut, she slipped down her sweats and panties to check the damage. Her bottom was a mottled pink, but not as bad as she thought. God, she couldn't imagine getting the brush. Jenna's hand was bad enough.

The door to the connected bathroom she shared with Jeremy opened. Elena jerked up her pants and yelled, "Jer, knock!"

Jeremy chuckled, "So you got it, too?"

Elena turned, "What? Ric spanked you? What the fuck?"

Jeremy said, "Yep, so you think they coordinated that?"
"Yeah, I mean what are the chances?" Elena scoffed. "What did you even do?"

Jeremy rubbed his butt unconsciously, muttering, "Same shit as you. Drinking, partying."

Elena's eyes narrowed, "Did you out me to Jenna?"

Jeremy looked guilty, "Sorry, Sis. I may have blurted out that Bon went to meet that guy. I was worried...Are you pissed?"

Elena shrugged, "No, I guess not. But if you do it again, I'm going to tell Ric that you were behind blowing up the toilets in that prank."

Jeremy laughed, "I just supplied the M80s, that whole thing was Lockwood. But is Bonnie okay? I texted her but she never replied."

"Yes, she's over at the Mikaelsons. Some stuff went down," Elena said. "Look, you better get in your room like Jenna said. She threatened to use some old hairbrush on me in the future. I think we're going to have to watch our step," Elena warned.

"Hairbrush? Ric said he's going to make me a paddle! Shit, can you take my smokes and dope and get rid of it? I can't get caught with that stuff now," Jeremy huffed.

"Yeah, I'll toss it on the way to the Mikaelsons. Hurry up, stick it in my purse," Elena ordered, pointing at her bag on the chair.

"Give me a minute," Jeremy responded.

"Don't forgot the dope you hide in your shoe," Elena called out.

"How do you know about that?" Jeremy wondered.

"I am your sister. I know. Hurry up," Elena repeated, feeling an itch in her rear. The stinging was already subsiding, but the memory wouldn't fade for a long time.

Mikaelson Mansion

Klaus' Quarters

Second Floor

Elijah smiled as the children dug through the bags of toys and clothes he had purchased. He wasn't sure what they would enjoy so he bought one of everything the clerk had suggested. They were dolls, trucks, legos, games, and a variety of soft stuffed toys.

Julian was in shock, he looked at Elijah with his deep blue eyes and asked, "Is this all for us?"

"Yes, dear boy, do you like it?" Elijah asked. Rebekah came in carrying more bags from the car.

"I brought you the rest," Rebekah smiled. "Here you go, children."

Indy gasped and clapped her hands.

"Thank you, Miss!" Indy exclaimed.

Rebekah sat on the settee in Klaus' room.

"Call me 'Auntie Bex', Indy," Rebekah coaxed. "I see a really pretty dolly. Who wants that?"
Julian grinned, "I wike dollies, too."

Elijah laughed, "There are plenty of everything. You can each have what you like to play with."

Indy eyed the ancient vampire with suspicion, saying, "But we don't got no money."

Elijah crouched down and pulled the small child to him.

"My dear Indigo, these are gifts for you. You need just accept them," Elijah explained.

"But, if we go to a new home, won't they just sell this stuff?" Julian inquired.

Elijah and Rebekah exchanged a glance.

"No, of course not, we shall not allow that," Rebekah said, firmly. Julian came over with the doll and reached up and touched her hair.

"You're real pretty, Missus," Julian complimented.

Rebekah smiled and touched his dark face.

"And you are a beautiful, little boy. We will never let anyone harm you again. Isn't that right, Elijah?" Rebekah prompted. They hardly knew these children, but already she was growing very attached.

"Yes, my dear. Now, we don't we take these things into the spare bedroom. I've taken the liberty of ordering some beds. I heard that children like bunk beds," Elijah shared.

"Bunk beds...We had those in our last home, but Julian is afraid of the top. I sleep in the top unless he gets afraid then I go in the bottom with him," Indy said quietly. Julian nodded.

"This bed has a double on the bottom for two children and a single on the top," Elijah paused for effect. "It also may have a slide!"

Rebekah smiled as the children cheered in excitement.

"Elijah Mikaelson, you have really outdone yourself," Rebekah said with emotion.

Rebekah's mind flashed to 1810 in New Orleans, she recalled coming home and seeing Elijah with Marcellus. Elijah taught him his letters, the piano, and how to dance. Then, Klaus grew jealous and Elijah had to pull back.

Elijah gathered up the toys in the bags.

"Oh, and I got some new clothes. I got you some costumes and some very comfortable pajamas, but I will need to wash them all first," Elijah added.

"New? We usually get old clothes," Julian said softly.

"Not anymore, my dears," Elijah replied. "Not anymore. Now, who would like to help me? I'll pay a quarter for every toy picked up!"

The children scrambled to pick up the toys and Rebekah laughed. She hadn't seen Elijah this happy in a very long time.

Basement Level

Klaus paced as Damon babbled in a fever dream. Bonnie was paging through some of Esther's grimoires.

"These are extraordinary," Bonnie commented. "Kol, what does it say here?"

Kol peered over Bonnie's shoulder.
"Oh, that is a spell for moonlight rings," Kol explained. "The incantation is Matere Lunare Tua Vi'rtuse."

"Moonlight rings?" Bonnie questioned.

Kol responded, looking closer, "Apparently, this can control a wolves turning on the full moon. Hmm, I wager she made one for her lover, Nik's real papa..."

Klaus sneered, "If only she made one for the whole village before they slew our brother, Henrik."
Bonnie looked up in surprise, blurting out, "You had another brother?"

Kol cast a wary eye at Klaus, "Yeah, he was killed by wolves. It's funny but our old house was right where main street is now. That was a long time ago, luv."

"I'm sorry," Bonnie said. "I know what is like to lose someone. My Grams, she passed a few months ago."

Damon was moaning, "Sorry, Stef...I shouldn't have made you..."

Klaus was listening to his son's ranting.

"What happened?" Kol asked, glancing over at Klaus and Damon.

"It was a disaster. Damon thought Katherine was trapped in some tomb at Fell's Church, but she wasn't in there. There were a bunch of desiccated vampires, but when we tried to seal up the tomb...It was too much for Grams and she passed," Bonnie said, biting back a sob. "I lost a lot of my magic. Professor Shane said fear is blocking me. That sleeping spell I cast on Wes is the stronger spell I've done in months."

"Sorry, luv," Kol said, patting her hand. "It will come back to you."

"What is Damon saying?" Bonnie deflected, getting up. She needed a break from these spells, no matter how interesting they were, she wasn't sure if her magic would hold up.

"Something about making Stefan turn?" Klaus repeated.

Bonnie frowned, "You know, Stefan is the one who encouraged Damon to turn. He resented it ever since. Do you think the virus is affecting his mind?"

"Maybe," Klaus said. "I only wish we could find that Shane bloke and get to the bottom of this. I'll rip his damn entrails out through his nose!"

Kol snickered, "I've seen him do that to gent who disrespected a working girl once. It was quite a sight."

They had looked for Professor Shane early in the morning, only to find no trace of him. No one at the college seemed to have known he existed. The office was cleaned out and the expression grimoire was gone. Bonnie would have to rely on her memory to do the spell.

Klaus frowned, "That was 200 years ago, but he never did that again. Bonnie, when your grandmother did that sealing spell, did she do something to Damon?"

Enzo grunted in his magically induced sleep, but unlike Damon, was silent. They had put bedrolls on the floor for the vampires to sleep on.

Bonnie considered it, saying, "You know, my Grams was not a fan of the Salvatore brothers. She didn't want them around me...For a time, I thought she was trying to lock them in the tomb forever to protect Elena and me, but I reversed the spell. I couldn't let Elena suffer like that."

Klaus ran a hand over his face, he needed to shave.

"Bonnie, when you try the spell, could you rid Damon of any other spells that may be affecting him? He is of my blood and to that end, he is part werewolf and part witch," Klaus started, thinking aloud. "And if your grandmother did any other spells on him, you could remove them. Could you not?"
"Wait! Damon would be a vampire, wolf, and witch? How is that possible?" Bonnie scoffed, almost laughing at the absurdity.

Klaus stood and leaned again the damp walls of the cellar.

"Your ancestor, Emily Bennett, aided me in removing my curse," Klaus admitted. "I had the moonstone and she only wanted to be free of Katerina Petrova. She had been forced to do her bidding for years and no longer trusted the twit. She secretly freed me of my curse. But I failed your family, Bonnie. The so-called founding families still managed to burn Emily at the stake. I should have taken her back to New Orleans with me, but she was adamant she had more business to attend to."

Klaus leaned down and tried to mop Damon's sweaty brow with a cool cloth, but the vampire thrashed.

"Father, no!" Damon cried in his restless sleep.

Bonnie bit her lip, "According to Stefan, Emily made them daylight rings. They pledged to watch over our family, yet Grams died helping them."

Klaus looked at her, "Yes, but we owe you a great debt. I know I've made mistakes in the past, but I hope we can set that aside. There is something I would like to show you."

Kol grumbled, "I'll stay and babysit. Hope you are paying me."

"I pay you well enough, little brother," Klaus said, with a glint in his eye. "Sage will be here soon to relieve you."

Klaus escorted Bonnie, who looked so similar to Emily, to Greta's former room.

"Greta was by my side whilst I was estranged from my family. It was a dark time for me," Klaus started, going into the abandoned bedroom. "But she was still secretive, even from me. In that closet, you will find her stores of supplies and grimoires. She even stole some from her father in order to help me make my hybrids. I cannot open it as it is sealed magically, but I think you can."

Bonnie followed Klaus to the large walk-in closet, snapping on an interior light. He pushed aside the clothes and Bonnie said a sealed door.

Bonnie put her hands on the door.

"Yes, I can feel it, but like I said, I don't think I'm strong enough," Bonnie interjected.

"Give it some time," Klaus said. "I have my men looking for Professor Shane, but if we can't locate him, we'll need go ahead with the spell. I can't bear to see Damon suffer like this. Plus, I feel like Dr. Maxfield is remembering some more details of his exchange with this Markos. I'll leave you to it."

Bonnie watched Klaus leave and then sat on the floor of the closet in frustration. Bonnie saw a pair of gold heels and grabbed them.

"Whoa, Manolo Blahniks!" Bonnie grinned. "Caroline would love these." Bonnie took off her sneakers and tried on the $4000 heels. They were a little big, but she still thought they looked good.

Bonnie tried to concentrate.

"Grams, I know you don't like me helping vamps, but I need you now," Bonnie said, squeezing her eyes shut. "I understand why you were concerned. I'm sorry I didn't listen more, but Stefan and Damon are my friends. I mean, Damon is a dick, but Elena still needs him. And in way, so do I. Grams, show me what to do..."

Bonnie meditated and tried to feel the magic course through her, but felt nothing. She got up, almost stumbling in the heels, and went back out into the bedroom. She sat at Greta's dressing table and stared.

"Who were you, Greta? Why were you trying so hard to help Klaus?" Bonnie whispered. Behind her, a shimmering image of a gorgeous African American woman appeared.

"Those heels are too big for you, girl," a throaty, disembodied voice said.

"Greta?" Bonnie gasped.

"Yesssss, I was," Greta rasped. "Klaus wanted to bring supernaturals to the forefront. By creating hybrids, he was creating a new world order. We need to unite and stop fighting each other. I tried, but failed. You can help them, Bonnie. If these Travellers get their way, they will create a hell on Earth. Only the Mikeaelsons and you can stop them."
"Travellers? I don't understand," Bonnie added.
"You will. I opened the closet for you. Find the Traveller knife and stab the vampires. Do the spell in the book to rid them of all curses and corruption. That injection was to prepare them for a passengers, you cannot let that happen. You must hurry. They are gathering now," the spirit urged.

Bonnie felt a spark of fear and something else. Hope.

"But my magic is weak!" Bonnie argued.

"No, it has never been stronger. Link with the Originals, use their power the way you would use a full moon or the comet. You have to let them in," Greta said, her voice becoming more distant. She was fading.

"But the door...," Bonnie said, turning around and finding nothing. Had she imagined it. Bonnie stood up, kicking off the ridiculous shoes, and padded back to the closet. She remembered the unsealing spell.

Bonnie went back and found a lipstick. She drew a pentagram on Greta's closet door in the sparkling red pigment.

Focusing hard, Bonnie chanted, "Phasmatos Salves Nas Ex Malon, Terra Mora Vantis Quo Incandis, Et Vasa Quo Ero Signos."

After a moment, Bonnie felt weak and a gush of blood exited her nose, but then she heard the click. The door opened and Bonnie went to find the knife and the spell. Damn, Damon was going to owe her big time. She wondered if he'd let her have his car.

Mikealson Mansion

Front Entrance

Stefan wiped sleep from his eyes. He had crashed on the living room couch. Finn was nice enough to go hunting and got him some deer blood. Stefan drank it from the mug and wiped his mouth.

"That's better," Stefan said, as the door bell rang. He opened it and found his former girlfriend standing there with Ric.

"Hey guys, thanks for coming," Stefan said. "Come on it."

Ric frowned, not thrilled about being there, but also not willing to leave Elena there without him.

"I don't like this, Stefan," Ric muttered, stepping over the threshold. "You just get up. Your, um, hair..."

Elena laughed and fixed a rogue strand of Stefan's hair.

"Someone has bedhead," Elena quipped.

"Yeah, well, someone also got like an hour of sleep," Stefan intoned.

"Ah, he's grumpy. How is he?" Elena said.

"Still out of it. Um, Bonnie is upstairs. They couldn't find Professor Shane," Stefan explained. "But hopefully, we won't need him. Dr. Wes has been more forthcoming."

"Yeah, I can't believe that Aaron is that guy's ward. I heard kids talking about what a hardass Dr. Maxfield was," Elena said.

"There is a secret society on the campus of Whitmore," Stefan shared. "I don't think you guys show go back there anymore. It's not safe."
Ric cast a stern look at Elena.

"Oh, she's not going to anymore college parties, that's for sure," Ric growled.

"Ric, come on," Elena said, embarrassed. "I said I wouldn't. Now, can we please drop it?"

Ric softened, "Yeah, sure. So can they do the blood draw so we can get out of here. Some of us have lives and you know, things to do today."

Elena grinned, "Can I tell him, Ric? Please!"

Ric smiled, "Go on, you might as well. You'll tell him anyway."
Elena hoped up and grabbed Stefan's arm. "Ric is going to propose today. Isn't that awesome?"

Stefan smiled and shook Ric's hand. "That's great, man. You two are real lucky. Congrats."
"Don't jinx me," Ric said nervously. "She didn't say yes yet. But thanks."

Stefan looked up as Bonnie came down the grand staircase.

"Hey guys! Look what I have," Bonnie announced. "I think we've got our spell and my magic is back in full swing thanks to some information from a new friend...But Elena, it calls for your blood so roll up that sleeve."
Elena said, "No problem."

"I'll get my magic bag. Elena, just have a seat over here," Bonnie directed.

"Um, can't I stand?" Elena whined.

Ric raised his eyebrows.

"Problem, Elena?" Stefan inquired, looking at Ric.

"No, um, I'll just sit on the this couch," Elena said ruefully. "But they all look uncomfortable."

"Whatever," Bonnie said. "We'll do the spell downstairs. I don't think you need to stay for it. Ric, did you ever hear of some group called the Travellers in your studies?"

Ric went over to the glass decanter of liquor and then shook his head.

"No today," Ric said to himself. "Um, yeah, they are an esoteric coven. Legend says they are doomed to roam the Earth as punishment for insulting a powerful being. I don't even know if they are still around. Why?"

"Oh, they are still around. Can you do some research for us on them?" Bonnie asked, looking for her bag.

"Sure," Ric said.

"Bon, Ric's proposing to Jenna today. Not sure that he will have time," Elena blurted out happily.

"Oh wow," Bonnie gasped. "That is great news. Are you going to go down and see Damon?"

Ric twisted the Gilbert ring he wore on his right hand.

"Um, I don't know," Ric said. "We weren't really talking after he snapped my neck."

Stefan grimaced, "Yeah, he felt kinda bad about that. But you know, Damon, too stubborn to apologize."

"He tried, I guess," Ric said in irritation. "In his half-ass way. I guess I'll head down real quick if he doesn't know I checked on him, all the better. Elena, you'll stay up here?"
"Um, sure," Elena said, sitting down carefully.

"I think my bag is in the kitchen," Bonnie said, still looking. "Elijah keeps moving my stuff around."

Stefan waited until they both left.

"Um, Elena, are you okay?" Stefan asked carefully.

Elena flushed, "Yeah, remember when you told me about olden days, like how you and Damon used to get whacked?"

"Yes?" Stefan prompted. "I remember. Did you get...?"

"Spanked? Yeah, Jenna really lit into me. Oh Stefan, I said some horrible things to her when I got off the phone with you," Elena said, wincing. "She really lit into me!"
Stefan's lip turned up and he smiled, "Jenna? I'm sure you really deserved it then. You okay?"
"Yeah, I guess, but my butt is still tender," Elena whispered. "Think you could give me some blood?"

Stefan held up his hands, "No way. I'm sorry you got spanked, but my blood could tamper with the spell. Plus, a little soreness might remind you to respect your elders better."

"You're enjoying this. You brute," Elena accused. "What about after they take my blood?"
"Nope," Stefan grinned. "You'll be fine in a bit. You know, when we were dating, there were a few times I wanted to put you over my knee?"
Elena shifted on the couch, muttering, "I know. I'm glad you never did. It really smarts."

"Yeah, Elena, that's the point," Stefan said.

Elena couldn't help herself, she went on, "And Ric spanked Jeremy! Can you believe it, two in one day."
"That was long overdue!" Stefan chuckled. "Your brother can also be a handful. I'm surprised it took so long."
"Hey! You're supposed to be on my side," Elena protested.

Stefan took her hand and replied, "Elena, I'm always on your side."

The two looked into each other's eyes until Bonnie came in with her kit and Elena took her gaze away. Stefan heard her heart racing and pulled his hand away.

"Okay, let's get to work," Bonnie said dutifully. She looked at the two on the couch. "Um, did I miss something?"
"No," Elena said. "I'm ready."

Bonnie picked up Elena's purse that she had dropped by the couch.
"You better not leave this out," Bonnie warned. "They don't like clutter here."

"Wait!" Elena exclaimed, but Bonnie already looked in the open bag. She pulled out a bag of marijuana and a pipe.

"What is this?" Bonnie exclaimed.

"Oh, that's Jeremy's...I was gonna throw it out," Elena said as Ric came in the room.

"They are ready for you downstairs...," Ric said, drifting off. "This is Jer's?"
Elena frowned, "Yeah, but he is quitting that's why he gave it to me to get rid of."

"I am going to take the hide off that kid," Ric threatened.

Bonnie sighed, "Actually, Ric, I gave it to Jeremy. It's mine."

Ric put his hands on his hips. "Then, after this is over, you and me are going to have a conversation, young lady. Do you understand?"

Bonnie nodded, "I get it, Ric. Now, can I do my thing here?"

"Sure," Ric said stiffly. "And then I'm going to do my thing."
"Whatever," Bonnie said, glibly. After all, she could take another lecture from Ric, she had heard it all before.

Bonnie missed the look exchanged by Stefan and Elena, Ric decided to have a bourbon after all.
