Morning
Kol chuckled as he heard Elijah exclaim from the kitchen. Enzo winked at him and they both laughed.
"Something is amusing?" Klaus asked, turning down the newspaper he was reading at the breakfast table. Finn didn't look up from his catalog of lighting fixtures. He didn't understand electric lights, but the light was so pretty. They even had lights that looked like torches now. He circled what he liked with a marker.
Stefan smiled, admitting, "I perhaps shouldn't have told them about, um, April Fool's day. The kids at the schools seem to enjoy it a lot. Last year, someone exploded a bunch of toilets in the men's rooms. I think Elena's brother got in trouble for doing something, but he never admitted it fully."
"That little twerp," Damon mumbled, pushing the eggs around on his plate.
Stefan frowned, "Damon, come on, he's just a kid."
"Son, must you? Stefan is right," Klaus corrected, putting down his newspaper.
"I have nothing better to do," Damon complained, putting down his fork with a clang.
"At least you don't have a book of lessons to complete!" Enzo added, drinking his orange juice. "I've never had school work before. I think I prefer being back at the work house."
Rebekah scoffed, "You sure complain a lot. I would think you'd be grateful for the opportunity to learn. You know, I always wanted to go to school. Now, I finally get the chance!"
"Bully for you," Damon muttered.
"Okay, that's enough. There is no need to be rude," Klaus chastised. "If you are finished, you may help Elijah in the kitchen or get to your chores or lessons."
"Chores?" Damon guffawed. "I never even cleaned out my own garage. I don't see why I have to do it here. Plus, you said we would start training. You haven't shown me a thing! Nothing."
But Klaus could reply, Elijah came into the dining room, wiping his face with a dish towel.
Finn looked up, "Problem with the water pump?"
Elijah glared, his dark neatly trimmed hair dripping.
"It seems someone equipped the faucet with cellophane wrap. The spray nozzle drenched me!" Elijah accused.
Rebekah pointed at Enzo and Kol.
Kol looked innocent for a moment and then broke down.
"April Fool's Day!" Kol hollered.
Stefan murmured, "That's a classic..."
"The children were helping me with the dishes," Elijah articulated tightly. "Kol, get yourself into that kitchen and help settle down Indy. She is most alarmed."
Kol frowned, "Sorry, Elijah, I didn't mean for them to get blasted. Just you!"
"Luckily, I only got 'blasted' or I would be 'blasting' your sorry behind." Elijah chided, "Kol, I mean it! In the kitchen now. You had your fun. Enzo, you are responsible for this, too?"
Enzo wiped the smile from his face.
"Yes, Elijah. It was just a prank," Enzo commented, glancing at Kol. "Sorry, we'll make it up to you, but it is a holiday."
"Not much of a holiday, if you ask me. Take Julian and Indy out to play, please. And take your plates," Elijah demanded. "We'll work on your studies this afternoon. I see you both have too much time for idleness."
Kol and Enzo took their plates and glasses and followed Elijah back into the kitchen.
Rebekah sighed and took the rest of the plates.
"I see the rest of you aren't going to move," Rebekah snarked. "Allow me."
"Thank you, dear Sister," Klaus said, picking up his paper again.
Damon snapped, "I'm still eating! Are you blind?" as Rebekah tried to clear his plate.
Klaus tossed his newspaper down.
"That's it! Do I need to take you upstairs for another talk so soon, Son?" Klaus pressed, leaning across the huge table to meet Damon's eyes.
Stefan raised his eyebrows and got up to help Rebekah clear the rest of the food.
Damon shoved a last bite of food in his mouth and shook his head.
"No, sir," Damon said. "I'm going to take care of that garage now!"
"Mind your manners," Klaus warned. "You are on notice and I left that ruler by your bed with the promise of it coming back into contact with your sore rump at any time. Do you get my meaning?"
"I'm not stupid, so yeah," Damon sassed. "Maybe you could call the witch and have her do another spell on me? That was a good idea."
Klaus held his gaze a moment. Damon, despite being pliant before bed, had woken up sullen and irritated. He was clearly upset with Klaus about last night. Klaus didn't know why.
"Fine, then you are dismissed. We'll tend to your plate. Go," Klaus said in a low voice.
Damon vamped away and Finn put down his work.
"You thrashed him with that ruler?" Finn inquired, looking at his blond brother. "May I ask whatever for?"
Klaus pushed away his plate and picked up his tea.
"Finn, he almost sacrificed himself for me at the fight with those Traveler characters," Klaus noted. "I could not let such foolishness go unpunished. I also put him on restriction, which means he cannot leave the house. He will learn to obey me one way or the other."
Finn put his large hands on the table.
"I know they had bolts made of the white oak," Finn started. "But would that even affect him? He is not an Original. Mother bound our immortality with that tree, it would only harm us."
"Any vampire could be slaughtered with a bolt to the heart. Damon was wearing armor that Ric fashioned, but that does not make him bulletproof," Klaus argued.
"Does it not?" Finn wondered. "I think that is exactly what it does. I may not have your flowery words, Niklaus, but I think you are being too hard on the boy. He did you a kindness and you whip him for it? With my ruler? And you had a witch spell him? That seems like a lot, even from you."
Klaus leaned back, sipping on his tea.
"We have just made our amends, Brother," Klaus acknowledged tightly. "But I would ask you to mind your own goddamn business!"
Finn's eyes watched Klaus closely.
"This family is my business. Niklaus, I think we ought to go visit those lands now. Right now," Finn determined, getting up.
"But you said you wished Sage to join us," Klaus corrected. "Can you not wait?"
"I don't think you want Sage to see this. You wanted me back to be your eldest brother," Finn shared. "Now, I am back. Do not tarry or I will add to your correction!"
Klaus pushed back his chair, but didn't get up.
"Correction?" Klaus guffawed. "Brother, it has been many centuries since I had a correction. Is this your April Fool's jest for me?"
"I do not jest, Niklaus," Finn snapped. "Now, prepare yourself. And bring that magical brush you are so proud of! If I recall correctly, a switching on top of that would be most unpleasant."
"A switching! Nay, you are most humorous," Klaus laughed to himself. "I'll take you later, as we planned."
Finn bellowed, "You like to give out punishments, but now you shall take one. Would you rather I call Kol and Elijah to help me? I am sure they would delight at seeing their brother be brought to task. Shall I call them? Maybe even Rebekah would help? You may be the strongest of us, but four Originals can take on one naughty, overbearing hybrid."
"Naughty?" Klaus grumbled, finally getting up. "You are surely spending too much time with Elijah! I can take a beating better than the lot of you."
Finn chuckled, "Oh, I know, but I do not intend to beat you, Brother. I think a sound hiding with get you thinking straight. You wish for your son to see you as a parent, well, you must also admit when you were wrong!"
Klaus pushed his chair in, hissing, "Fine, Finn. Do what you will. I can see you are determined to make some kind of a point here. Let's go."
"Oh, I will get through to you," Finn promised. "And you will thank me afterward."
"I think not," Klaus snapped.
"Don't forget the spelled brush," Finn said lightly.
Gilbert Residence
Ric put his arms around Jenna from behind as he came into their bedroom. He was surprised when she shrugged him off and continued folding his t-shirts.
"Hey, the kids are nosing around in the basement for that old stuff Jer was looking for. We have some time...," Ric shared. "Want to fool around?"
Jenna turned from the clothes she was folding.
"I think we need to talk about last night," Jenna informed him.
"Yeah, well, when I found Jeremy last night, he was pretty spooked about what he found out about Anna," Ric revealed. "I told him to get to sleep and we'd talk about it today. I was just relieved to find him in one piece."
"No, not about that," Jenna said quietly. "You handled that perfectly, but I'm not sure about Elena...Ric, she's a young woman, almost an adult and you were-."
"Jenna, I didn't plan to spank her bare butt like that," Ric defended. "But she was lying to me. I guess I gave her the ultimatum of telling me where Jer was or I was going to spank it out of her. She called my bluff and.-"
Jenna threw up her hands, saying, "Okay, I get it. It was a heat of the moment situation. But did you have to pull down her pants like that? Her panties?"
Ric retorted, "Didn't you spank her the same way? I think you're being a little ridiculous here."
"Ridiculous? Ric, I don't appreciate that. I am trying to have a conversation here," Jenna said calmly. "I just think we need to have a discussion about how we discipline. My niece and nephew are also getting used to this. I just don't think we want to get into the habit of putting them over our laps when we are unhappy with them. They are teenagers and...I know they weren't listening to me and they got out of control, but maybe we're...being too hard on them? I don't know what I am saying."
Jenna shrugged and Ric crossed his arms.
"Look, I'm sorry about the ridiculous comment. I just didn't want you implying I was being inappropriate with Elena. I was going to spank her over her panties and they came down by accident," Ric shared. "But she was cursing and wouldn't tell me where Jer was. I was panicking."
Jenna nodded and put her arms around Ric.
"I'm not saying you did anything wrong. I just think we need to step back and make sure we aren't overreacting. Like Elena is probably more worried about losing her car than anything. Did you think to threaten that?" Jenna pressed. "I want them to be able to tell us stuff without being afraid they are going to be sitting on a pillow for dinner."
Ric pulled back and brushed Jenna's light brown hair back.
"Honey, they won't be afraid to be honest. They will be more afraid to disappoint us or themselves," Ric promised. "Kids need structure. I know it seems like we are being overly strict, but once they get it, things will settle down. Then, we can let up a little. I think now is the wrong time to backpedal. Yes, I could have handled Elena better and I will talk to her, but she was being defiant with me. I didn't swat Jeremy last night because he was upset and exhausted, but I think running away while grounded is serious."
"What are you thinking?" Jenna said.
"We sit him down, maybe all of them, and talk about safety," Ric proposed. "These Travelers are on the loose, and now we have new vampires in town? We lay it out. You break the rules, you get consequences of our choosing. I don't think we need to be specific, because they they weight the consequences to see if it is worth it. But I'm sorry but you break a safety rule, and you get your butt busted. Period. We don't have the luxury of letting the kids make mistakes that could endanger their lives. Also, I think we should all be drinking vervain daily, even April. Maybe especially April, she is pretty innocent to everything."
"Should we tell her, Ric? I mean her dad just died. Does she need to know that monsters are real?" Jenna moaned.
"In my opinion, yeah," Ric said. "But she's been through a lot. Some of the worst monsters are human, but if think it is too soon, we could hold off."
"Yeah, let's give her some time," Jenna offered. "But back to Jeremy...You were saying?"
"A family meeting about rules and safety," Ric started. "Then, I think young Mr. Gilbert needs a couple of licks with my belt at bedtime."
"Oh Ric," Jenna gasped, backing up. "I don't know...Grayson and Miranda didn't ever smack the kids. I mean, maybe Miranda did a couple of times when they were toddlers, but never a real spanking. But the belt seems like too much. You said it was awful."
Ric smiled, "It is, but my dad's belt kept me from doing stuff that would ruin or end my life. I had buddies who drank and drove, did drugs, broke the law. They kidded me when I bowed out, but then they had to face the consequences on their own. With Jer, he's smart. He knew what he was doing and figured the consequences wouldn't be too bad. Jeremy took off thinking he could get away with it. Jenna, when I was out looking for him, I was thinking the worse. It will just be a couple of licks to give him a taste of what to expect if he pulls this shit again."
"Okay," Jenna said finally. "I trust you. But in the future, I think we need to talk about consequences beforehand. You know, unless it can't be helped. Agree?"
Ric nodded, "Agree. If they know we are a united front and not going to put up with lying, deception, and acting out, it will stop pretty damn quickly. Believe me. Now, I thought we were going to..."
"Take off your pants and get on the bed," Jenna coaxed. "Your back is so tense. I think you need a massage."
"Oh, I never had one before, not a real one anyway," Ric chuckled. "You're not going to take advantage of me?"
"Oh, I am, Mr. Saltzman," Jenna said, turning to swat the seat of his pants. Smack. "Now, listen or you'll get a spanking from me!"
Jenna winked at Ric and went to lock the door. She hoped the kids would be occupied for another 45 minutes or so.
"Owww," Ric joked, unbuckling his belt and sliding off his jeans.
"Shirt, too," Jenna ordered, going to get the scented oils she had purchased, but never used. "You are going to smell like a strawberry."
Ric stripped out of his shirt and got down on the bed. Jenna straddled him and then started to rub him down with the oils.
"Ohhhhh," Ric moaned. "Harder and a little higher!"
Jenna turned and smacked Ric's now oiled behind with her hand.
Crack!
"Damn, woman! You working out?" Ric cackled, wiggling his sculpted behind.
"Watch the tone, mister," Jenna said. "I'm in charge of this massage."
Smack!
"Whoa! You put some power behind that one," Ric gulped.
"Yep, there is more where that came from," Jenna laughed, swatting him again. Slap. She got off Ric and leaned to the side, putting her left hand on his lower part. "But you did mouth off to me...so I guess I need to punish you a little!" She spanked him again with her right hand.
Swat! Swat! Swat!
"Ouch. That oil makes it sting like hell," Ric whined. "Is that for calling you 'ridiculous?'"
Swat! Swat! Swat!
Jenna grinned and spanked Ric harder.
"Yeah, I almost forget about that," Jenna mused. She rubbed the pink handprints on Ric's bottom, smacking him a few more times.
Swat! Swat! Swat!
"Oh!" Ric said in mock alarm. "Those were hard."
Jenna leaned over and kissed the sore spots, turning Ric over.
"Oh, that's not the only thing that is-," Jenna began, but Ric's mouth covered hers and they fell into a frenzied tangle and forgot about everything else.
Mikaelson Property
Klaus was incredulous.
"Here?" Klaus demanded, gesturing wildly around the wooded area. "I just showed you the most beautiful piece of land for your home and you still intend to thrash me?"
Finn smirked and sat down on a felled log.
"Your son tried to save you," Finn reiterated. "He was protected by armor and has the same hybrid reflexes as you do. And yet you punished him for his protective instinct? How many times have you and Elijah risked your lives for one another? Rebekah? Kol?"
"Countless," Klaus admitted hollowly. "Perhaps I was too hasty in punishing him? But the fear I felt at that moment, Finn, was deep. If something were to happen to him...I've a lost a son before, I can't go through that again. Never."
Finn thundered, "Then, teach him to defend himself! You can't thrash out the desire of kin to protect one another. You need to nurture that feeling, not stop it. Was it because he was saving you that you protested?"
Klaus grimaced, "I have lived a thousand years, Finn. Many lives...too many, perhaps. My death would be a boon to many, my enemies and maybe all of you? Damon is much younger and hasn't done the things I have. Maybe I deserve death."
"Aye, the same could be said for all of us. But we must let the fates or gods, if they exist, decide that," Finn answered. "You must do your best to guide your boy, by staying alive to teach him. And if 'Family Above All' means anything, then you owe him an apology. He put you first and now has suffered for it, as will you shortly. Come here, Brother. I may never have done this before, but you need it, do you not?"
Klaus' shoulders slumped. He couldn't answer the question in words, but slowly trudged over to where Finn was seated.
Finn grabbed Klaus' arm and pulled him across his right thigh, diagonally. Finn threw his leg over Klaus' leg and gruffly said, "Hand me the hairbrush and give me your hands."
Klaus struggled to work the brush out of his jacket pocket and hand it back to Finn. He was starting at fallen leaves and new growth. A few spring flowers popped through the brush. Klaus started at them as he felt Finn smoothing the brush across the seat of his pants.
Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap!
Finn lifted his arm to his shoulder and brought the wooden brush down in firm, even strokes. Klaus wasn't sure if the anti-healing magic would seep though his trousers, but he certainly felt those cracks.
"Eh," Klaus gasped, as Finn lifted his hands, pulling up his jacket.
Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap!
"Like that old soup spoon Mother wielded," Finn chirped, swatting Klaus slowly.
"Ah! Aye, that wasn't q-quite as firm as this one," Klaus hissed through clenched teeth.
Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap!
Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap!
Finn paddled Klaus over his pants for another long moment and then stood him up. Klaus heaved a sigh of relief and went to rub his now warmed up backside, which was uncomfortably warm.
"Let us rid of the burden of these trousers, huh?" Finn said.
"No! Finn, please," Klaus begged, trying to hold up his pants. But Finn slapped his hands away and undid Klaus' pants quickly, slipping them down to his ankles.
"And these drawers," Finn ordered, slipping them to meet his pants at his ankles. Klaus covered himself and Finn chuckled, deftly flipping him back over his lap over both knees.
Klaus' hands braced himself as Finn raised his left knee to raise Klaus' exposed bottom higher.
"You stay in place or you will get the switch next," Finn warned. Klaus' feet, tangled in his trousers were touching the ground lightly. Finn rested the flat back of the wooden brush on Klaus' left cheek.
Crack!
"Ohhhhh," Klaus shrieked, but soon another whack descended in the same spot. Then again, until Klaus lost count at seven blows. "AWWWWWW, that's enough. I-I'll s-speak to D-Damon!"
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
"You will indeed," Finn agreed, now beginning to spank the left side.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
With his healing reduced, Klaus found himself crying suddenly as if a dam had broken in him. He wept out his fear, his anger, his frustration, and his despair itself.
"Ohhhhh, ahhhhhh, nooooooo!" Klaus roared, he couldn't reach back and could only drum his feet into the ground as his bottom was reddened by the relentless brush.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
Finn gave Klaus another circuit of smacks on top of the other ones until the hybrid lay limply, sobbing. Finn tossed the brush into his own pocket and rubbed his brother's back.
"Niklaus, you need to have some trust," Finn said softly. "Father is dead. Mother is gone. You have us now, a family. Do not let your fear and paranoia spoil everything...because if you do, you will be right back over my knees getting your backside blistered."
Smack.
"Do you hear me?" Finn said, giving Klaus a short swat across both glowing cheeks reigniting the fiercely hot burning sensation.
"Owwww. Y-Yes!" Klaus exclaimed. "I d-do."
Klaus lay over Finn's lap until he stopped crying. Finn tried to work up his pants and then gave up and took them off, after removing Klaus' shoes.
"No, I want you to stand against that tree and think about how you are going to make up with Damon," Finn said. "I'm going to go check out the lake. Hands on your head. The stinging in your hind end will remind you to obey me. I'll also take your pants with me. I don't want you running off."
Klaus got up and wiped at his face with his handkerchief.
"Aye, but how long?" Klaus asked, feeling chastened and drained.
"Until I tell you otherwise," Finn said, moving him along with two slaps to the back of his untouched thighs. Slap! Slap!
Finn pointed to a large tree and Klaus put his face up to it, putting his hands on his head. He shuffled and leaned his head against the tree, feeling his bottom throbbing painfully. Klaus thought of what he would say to Damon and how he would tell him he had been too quick to punish him.
Finn came back after a few minutes and handed Klaus his trousers and underpants. Klaus slipped on his briefs and hissed as they touched his scalded behind.
Finn tried not to smile, but said, "That brush of yours is a fancy piece of business. If we only had that our first years as blood drinkers, things would have been a good deal different."
Klaus buttoned his pants with some effort.
"True, the sting of it may have been worse than the sting of our blood lust, though we'll never be sure. Ah, Finn, I do owe you some...," Klaus paused, "thanks."
Finn nodded and opened his arms to Klaus. Klaus dove in and let Finn embrace him in a way they almost never had before. Finn was taller and breathed in the scent of Klaus' blond hair.
"You're a good lad, Niklaus. I never said as much, but I was envious of your creativity and big heart," Finn admitted. "But now, you can share those things with those around you. I love you, Little Brother."
Klaus found himself weeping silently again. "Me, too, Big Brother. I never thought I would hear those words out of your mouth. Guess it was worth a hard brushing!"
Finn sniffed himself and laughed, "Was it? I didn't go easy on your stubborn rump. Now, let's get you back and you can tell me how you'll make it up to the boy."
Klaus shrugged, "I suppose I could help him clean the garage for starters. Lift his restriction and tell him what we talked about?"
"Aye, are you going to tell him you went over my lap?" Finn quipped.
Klaus looked horrified, "No! Children don't need to know everything, you know. I'll just say his uncle had some strong words for me."
Finn threw an arm around Klaus. "Aye, that will do. Maybe tell him he need not go to work so soon? I hear that you cannot do much without an university degree these days...Why not offer him more of an education first?"
Klaus thought, "That might be a good compromise...You know, Finn, you are learning very quickly. Perhaps you should learn to be a builder? You always had a knack for it. Remember that chicken coop you built? it was so fine that the whole village came 'round to see it..."
The brothers walked back at a much slower pace, but finally made it home after lunch time.
Dining Room
Elijah had Kol and Enzo sitting at the kitchen table with some printed out sheet in front of them. They were writing in notebooks. Indy and Julian were eating sandwiches and coloring.
"There you two are," Elijah said happily. "I thought you had started to build that house. Finn, Sage is in the living room."
Finn clapped Klaus on the back and gave him one last smile.
"Ah, yes," Klaus said, eyeing the hard seats and opting to stand. "Finn loved the land. If Sage agrees, they may build on it. We also had quite the talk."
"Lovely. Kol and Enzo seem to have engineered another of their little pranks," Elijah noted. "Rebekah is frantically trying to wash ink out of her hair as we speak."
"Oh," Klaus said, peering over their shoulder to see what they were doing.
Enzo reported glumly, "We didn't realize it was permanent. It was supposed to be dye, but we didn't have any so we used ink."
Kol cringed, "And now we are to write punishment lines and a report on the history of April Fool's Day. Would you like to hear mine thus far?"
Klaus deflected, "Actually, I was going to speak to Damon. Is he still in the garage?"
"Yes, he is sorting through the previous owner's things now. He helped us print some information from the computer for the reports," Elijah remarked. "And not happily either. Enzo, are you making progress?"
Enzo cleared his throat, reading, "'Some -h-historians speculate that April Fools' Day dates back to 1582, when France switched from the Julian calendar to the G-Gregorian calendar-.'"
Elijah shook his head, "Don't just copy it. You must paraphrase it, that is called plagiarism. Let's rework that part."
Enzo groaned as Elijah sat down beside him. Julian and Indy started to bicker and draw on each other's papers.
"Children, it's rest time. Go on up to your rooms and play quietly," Elijah said. "I'll be up in a moment."
Klaus patted them on the heads and promised to paint with them later in the afternoon. He thought watercolor would be nice for them to try.
Garage
The large four car garage was in disarray.
Damon was sorting through vases on the ground, with open boxes all around him.
"Making any progress?" Klaus asked, coming behind Damon.
"Actually, this stuff is worth a lot of money," Damon said, holding up a ceramic vase. "The previous owners just left this stuff?"
"It was a repossession so I don't think they had a choice," Klaus recalled. "But can you put down the vase? I need to talk to you."
Damon dusted off his seat and leaned up against Stefan's red Porsche.
"Yeah, sure," Damon said. "As long as it doesn't involve my butt turning as red as this car, I'm down to talk."
Klaus bit his lip. "Yes, about that. Um, Damon, I am sorry. I shouldn't have spanked you for trying to save me. I was...wrong."
Damon looked at Klaus in surprise. "But you said that I put my life in danger! That I was out of line...Why the change of heart?"
Klaus folded his hands behind his back.
"Finn had some very harsh words for me," Klaus confessed. "He said that I ought to teach you how to defend yourself and not be a hypocrite, in not those say words. We preach 'always and forever' and 'family about all' and sometimes that means putting ourselves on the line for each other. And I was wrong to say you shouldn't protect Stefan. My siblings and I have protected each other for centuries, even when we couldn't stand the sight of each other..."
Damon nodded, "Yeah, I could never lay back and let Stef get hurt. My life wouldn't be worth anything if I did that, even if he is still barely hanging out with me. I know I've been given all this new power and I do want to learn how to use it, even if it is hard or dangerous."
"It may be both," Klaus confessed. "I don't think we understand yet what you can do, but until we discover if you are under some effects of the Traveler's dark magic, I would like to hold off on that. Is that fair?"
Damon looked around the cluttered garage, muttering, "Yeah, it's fair, but me cleaning out this whole garage...that is crap."
"I agree," Klaus said wryly. "How about I will lift your restriction? We'll clear this garage together this week. And instead of you going to get a job, as Elijah was proposing, you will continue your education. You can earn a degree in any field you like. What say you?"
"I'm a little old for high school. Do you mean college?" Damon probed.
"Of course," Klaus smiled. "I'm sure Wes can get you into Whitmore. And Aaron, of course, if he has any input. Say, where are those two?"
"They were in the library. Wes is trying to get Aaron's records from his old school to transfer him to MFHS," Damon said. "Oh, and Enzo and Kol wanted to kill Wes as his 'prank.' I don't think he gets the gist of what a prank actually is. The dye thing was my idea, only Rebekah walked into it. Her hair is blue, a little green also I guess."
Klaus tried to resist, but burst out laughing.
"Blueish green, you say?" Klaus snickered. "I cannot believe I missed this."
"I thought she was going to kill Kol and Enzo, which got their mind off of Wes. Stef was the one who held her back," Damon shared. "I hate the guy, Wes, too, but I thought it would be a little much to kill him in front of the kid."
"He is still donating his blood. It's rather delicious," Klaus mused. "Also, until we know what we are up against, we need the doctor alive. Plus, it helps with the humans here to have a real doctor. Say, was Elena's father ever replaced?"
"I don't think so," Damon offered. "I think his offices in town are still empty. Why?"
"Nothing. Just thinking aloud," Klaus said. "So, am I forgiven?"
"Only if I get a free pass the next time I screw up," Damon suggested.
Klaus agreed, "I think that is fair. Now, I am not up for combat now, but we could talk some strategy. I think it is time I showed you my secret passage. You know the reason I chose this house is because it in on top of the cave system..."
Damon's eyes lit up, "You have a secret passage that connects to the caves?"
"Indeed," Klaus said, perking up. "Now, the trick will be assessing them without the others noticing. I do have a number of Kol's dark objects there. Now, you must never go in there without me. That is imperative as we don't exactly know what some of them do."
Damon smiled, "Oh, I can also keep a secret. Let's go."
Klaus nodded and led Damon to a metal closet, sliding it sideways to reveal a heavy door.
"Greta spelled it so only my blood can open the door, but since you share my blood, give it a go," Klaus encouraged.
Damon's fangs popped out and he bit into his wrist.
"Press the blood into the panel," Klaus directed.
Damon did and the door swung open with a creaking sound.
