Chapter 44: Alley

Having figured he and the others could wait a little before going into battle, Turaga Jala had decided to take a moment to check on Tali, who had run off earlier after the discovery of her pregnancy. Her sadness had not gone unnoticed and everyone wanted to go in and check on her, but as he had actually gone through this before with Green's mother, he figured he would be the best person to talk with about this. Plus as a member of the Turaga Council, he was entitled to ordering everyone else to get ready. Not that he was fond of playing the "I'm a politic" card, but Green would need everyone out there soon, and may have to leave whoever wanted to talk to Tali behind. With his power level, Jala wouldn't have a problem catching up later if he needed to.

A few seconds later, Jala had finally found her in an alley curled under on of Adhira's wings. From what he could see of her face behind the feathers, he could tell by the fresh tear tracks streaking her mask that Tali had been crying since she left the group and was so trapped in her thoughts that she had not noticed he was there. At least that's what he thought before looking up a bit to see Adhira's feline gaze locked on him, much like how a mother cat would guard her kittens, the same calculating gaze that wondered if she should let him close or tell him to back off.

Jala raised a calming hand in response to Adhira's look as he responded: "It's OK Adhira, I only came to tell a simple story".

After everything that had happened due to the unwise decisions of the Turaga Council, Jala couldn't blame her for being cautious around her. Their past Lead-Turaga had tried to have her killed during the exile after all. A decision that not everyone had agreed with. Jala still remembered the Turaga Mata trying to convince Optimus not to leave, as he was still a voice of reason who could potentially help make wiser decisions. That was the point of it being a council after all, the fact that they could talk with each other and make decisions based on the more popular opinion in order to do what was right for the people. Of course, Turaga Dume had found ways around that the past century and the Bioformers as well as anyone affiliated with them had suffered for it. Now with Lesovikk as the Lead-Turaga, the old laws had been taken down and an era of peace had finally begun.

Still, it did not change the fact that Jala had been one of the terrible Turaga. Six months ago, he had tried to have the Toabot leader killed for trying to negotiate peace. It was a decision a part of him still regretted. After that, he was lucky that Paradox had even bothered to save him. 'No'. Jala thought. 'Not lucky. Blessed'. In spite of everything he had done, God had had mercy on him through Paradox. God had given Paradox a heartlight so full of love, other good men would be jealous. Paradox had proven himself to be a forgiving person, and as the bigger man in that conflict. Because of that action, Jala had decided to dedicate the rest of his life making it right to the people who had been harmed by the action years ago to exile the innocent. It was an action that had spawned a war that continued to take lives. It was his fault, so it was also his duty to clean the mess with a willing heartlight, and faith that Jesus's mercy really could conquer all.

Adhira gazed steadily at the Turaga, weighing his words, his tone, his body language. During her time in exile, she had numbed herself and developed a great dislike towards the Turaga for what they had done to her family and the Bioformers. But her love towards the Turaga Mata, who they had been to her and what she hoped against hope to regain, prevented that hatred from firmly taking root in her heart, resulting in a festering, open, emotional wound that had never truly closed. And she remembered Jala. Oh, she remembered him. She had often seen his cold mask whenever she appealed to the Council and spoke out against Dume. She remembered the look of victory he had when the Bioformers were exiled. But now, she didn't see that pride and haughtiness anymore. She felt that he had changed somewhere along the line, and that was enough for her to take the leap and relax herself enough to remove her wing a bit from her charge, causing the young Toa of water to look up and notice Jala for the first time.

After this, Jala had taken slow step towards before eventually seating himself beside the Toa Rahayu of water. He could already see the sadness and disappointment in her eyes. Obviously she was disappointed in Ops for being one of the main causes of her situation, but Jala could already tell that there was a bit more to it. 'Was it perhaps fear of the responsibility of being a mother'? Jala wondered. Jala hoped it wasn't a worry over financial troubles as Toa typically made $40 an hour, and overtime would make up to $70 an hour. 'That's definitely overdue on their part, so I need to talk to them later'. Jala thought. 'To both the Toa and the council'. Regardless, it was clear that something about the pregnancy matter was bothering her, and as a male who had through this, he believed he could talk her through it. 'Lord, please give me the right things to say'. Jala prayed. 'It's in Jesus mighty name that I pray, amen'.

Then opening his eyes and looking back up to the Toa of water, Jala greeted her kindly: "Hello Tali, before I begin my tale, is there anything specific about this making you sad? I think I can make you feel better if I know why you're crying".

"I just...It's all so sudden!" Tali whimpered, wiping away a fresh tear. "I wanted to wait until the war was over, and Ops and I were married, to try for children. Now..." Tali rested a hand over her belly, thinking of the life or lives that were now growing inside her.

Jala smiled at this, already remembering his college years as he then told her: "You know my wife said the same thing when we were in college. Now, we had done "it" more than once because we were stupid enough to believe in "no consequences". But when she told me that, it scared me because the second she told me, I felt love for the child in her womb. So I BEGGED her to keep him when he was born".

Despite his fear regarding the responsibility of raising a child and teaching them how to live and survive, there was not a doubt in Jala's mind that he wanted the baby. He didn't care what gender it would be. He didn't care what would happen. He didn't care how much money he would have to spend on him/her. He didn't even care what the child would become. From the very moment he had been informed of the conception, he loved the child and there was no way he was going to support the option of aborting it as he was also against abortion. As was his entire family, whom would probably shun him for life for even trying to consider the option, more so enforce it on any romantic partner. Not that that was his reason for telling her he didn't want one.

Jala had indeed been blessed with an amazing partner to marry, for she had also agreed to raise the child regardless of circumstance. How Jala wished he could give her days off as a Council Guard. After everything she had done for the family, she definitely deserved. But as running a country was much easier said than done, he could never find time, even if he set out to do it first thing of the day. There was always piles of paper works and possible laws to discuss at he beginning of every single day. So much so as the day progressed that Jala could barely get a word out. His persistence had eventually managed to give her a weekend off, but he would keep pressing for more. Though that was beside the point.

Even now he still remembered the day that Green was to be born. They had both been so excited for the approaching day of Greens birth and everything had begun right on time. Though Jala did hide some of the excitement as his wife began to experience the labor pains. Given her recent mood swings due to the pregnancy, he was afraid she would accuse him of being happy about her being in so much pain. Call it illogical, but it did happen on a few occasions, and Jala had not given into his anger and shouted as he had a few of the days before. He was too happy about Green's approaching arrival to be mad about her pregnancy-pain-related accusations. His only priority was to be there for her and hold her hand through the birthing pains. Surely, they could go one good day with their sons impending birthday.

Jala shed a tear as he continued the story: "When Green was born, I could NOT take my eyes off of him. And I think that was one of the proudest moments I had as a dad, seeing a wonderful boy in my arms, who I knew, because his mother had such a merciful heart, was going to do great things one day".

And indeed he had. Ever since he had grown old enough to care for himself, he had managed the zoo, helped bring peace between the Bioformer race and the Council, befriended Toa, and had even fought in wars just because it was the right thing to do. It almost shocked Jala to know that it had been so many years since Green had been born. Almost 25, with his birthday coming up. Yet, for a while Green had been so angry at them for accepting jobs at the Turaga Council, a decision his wife had reluctantly made, before then informing Green about Golden, and the fact that he wouldn't be able to come with them. Green had come back the very next day and against all odds had managed to raise him in their place, and kept the Zoo running. Though Jala and his wife both hated making their decision now, they were very proud of the man Green had become, and of the good man that he was continuing to metamorphasize into.

Then smiling back up at the Toa of water, Jala finished: "Sometimes it doesn't matter when a baby is born, because a baby changes everything, in more good ways than bad. And knowing your parents, I know you're going to be a wonderful mother".

Before Tali could even speak, she noticed Ops's familiar form rush over to her with a skid. Upon reaching her, Ops lowered himself on both knees in front of his fiances seated form, and took both of her hands in his servos, a desperate look in his optics as he spoke: "Tali I'm begging you, please have mercy on our baby. I know we have no clue how we're going to raise it, or who it'll become but I don't care about that". Ops frowned a bit in thought. "Well, I do actually, but I also don't. It's difficult for me to explain, so I'll just continue. The point is, I already love this baby, and I will help you in every aspect of raising him or her that you need me to. I love this child, just as much as I love you, and I will never leave you alone. So please, don't abort it".

Tali blinked in surprise at Ops. The thought of abortion had never crossed her mind once since Z dropped the news. But she could understand where both males were coming from. Other women had been known to run off and abort the child even if the partner wanted it or not. But Tali was not that kind of girl. Her parents had ground into her that life is precious and where in the Bible God Himself is against abortion. Plus, Tali had know some girls who had had abortions and she never felt happy about it. her argument had always been if they still didn't want the baby, adoption was an option. But personally, Tali didn't want to get rid of the baby. This was her baby. Her and Ops' baby. Yes, the timing was unplanned, but she still loved the little one already and could never bear the thought of giving it up.

"Thank you, Turaga Jala. I do want to keep the baby. I just don't want any harm to come to it."

With that, Ops kneeled down next to her, his servos cupping her hands as he said: "Then we can stay here, and I'll protect you".

Sure, Tali was a well experienced Toa with enough skill and control over her element to easily rival Ops, but there was no way in Unicron he was about to let her go out and fight whilst carrying their baby. He could already tell by the looks of the city destruction that the oncoming war would be intense, and too much stress would be terrible for the baby. His people also disagreed with divorce as(depending on the circumstances) it was viewed as an act of cowardice. Not that he didn't want to be with her regardless. And last he checked, it was also illegal for any soldier to fight during any stage of pregnancy and as the dad, Ops would likely have to be the one working for their family from now until the time she would recover from giving birth. Along with that, the pregnancy would soon cause Tali to be in a bit of an overemotional mental state so Ops would have to be there for her 24/7 now, which again was not something that he had a problem with. 'Definitely a good excuse to spend more time with her'. Call it the honeymoon stage, but Ops still couldn't get enough of her.

Tali looked at Ops tearfully and hugged him. "But, what about the others?" This would be the first time she would not lead them into battle and, though she knew they would not blame her, she felt as though she had failed them.

"Don't worry about them." Adhira's calm voice washed over her mind. "Right now, they want you and your little one safe. They'll be fine. Stay here with Ops. Think of it as being backup."

Just before Tali could respond, she felt Ops's servo rubbing her belly with much affection. She looked down at him, noticing his happy grin as he responded: "Yeah". Then following up with a high pitched babying voice: "So you can stay safe through this whole thing, cause we love you WAY too much to let that happen". Ops kissed the spot on her belly where he assumed an embryo would be slowly growing on the other side. Ops spoke once again in his babying voice: "To let anything happen to you".

Tali covered her mouth with her hand as she giggled in an attempt to hold back the sob that seized her throat. Seeing Ops coo at their unborn was the final piece that allowed the reality to sink in. She was going to be a mother. Her dream was going to come true, and she felt like her heartlight would burst with the emotions swirling within. She wanted to cry, laugh, dance and hug Ops all at once. For this one moment, there was no war, no death, no destruction. It was just her, Ops and their little one, and she was happy.

Having managed to slip away from the couple unnoticed, Adhira watched with a small smile as the memories filled her mind. Oh, she had been there to. She knew the emotions soaring through young Tali. She had felt it too, the immense joy that she was going to have a family of her own with the mech she loves, and the overflowing love for the little life in her. Her sparkmate, however, had hilariously glitched at the news and woke the next day only to glitch again when it was reconfirmed. Adhira rolled her eyes at the memory, grateful that he had restrained himself from repeating it when she became pregnant with their second born. But the joy of the memories quickly soured into bitterness, and the Guardian Toa quickly turned away from the group so that it did not ruin the young couple's moment.

Ops looked up from the belly kissing, up into Tali's eyes as he said: "Oh and, don't think about anything that makes you sad or angry, it can damage the fetus". A silence passed, as if Tali were saying "Hopw would I not know that", before Ops spoke again: "Sorry. When my dad gave me the "talk", he ran me through EVERYTHING. Even delivering". Ops shivered as he included that last part.

"How can I possibly think such things when I have you?" Tali smiled, kissing his cheek lovingly.

Ops smiled happily, returning the cheek-kiss with his own. It pleased the Autobot very much to see the fiance of his dreams so happy in such a circumstance. Sure, they didn't get a baby at the time they expected, but there was no way the would keep Ops from being as supportive as he possibly could be. Both financially and emotionally. Ops wasn't like some mechs who would tear their femmes down and act like it was their fault for getting pregnant when he was just as guilty for taking risks he never should have to begin with. Ops loved Tali from the very moment he had first laid his optics on her, and to him she was worth all of the changing diapers and stress induced nights to come. It wouldn't change his love for her or their children, and it never would. He just prayed that she would continue to feel the same way for as long as they would both live.

"I don't know". Ops finally responded after a dreamy gaze into her red eyes. "Also, if I try to do this again and we're still not married, feel free to slap me or do something to clear my mind from those thoughts". Ops decided to add. No way was he going to give himself another chance to sin like that before marriage again. That night should have happened in their marriage bed, and Ops was going to try to make sure, with Tali's help, that next time it would be.

"Oh believe me, I will." Tali's smile turned into a smirk full of the promise of painful things to come should he ever attempt to make her pregnant outside of wedlock again. Seeing this made Adhira snicker silently, known full well that Tali would keep that promise.

Noticing that smirk, and sensing some mischievousness in her voice, Ops then asked: "You're definitely gonna pay me back for this though, aren't you"?

Tali's smirk widened a bit more. "Count on it".

"This sounds familiar". Adhira silently commented to herself as she watched them.

Believing the Guardian Toa was talking to him, Jala whispered back, so as not to interrupt their special moment: "How so"?

Hiding her surprise at being heard, she whispered back, "I said the exact same thing to Prowl when I found out I was carrying." She didn't let the pain be obvious in her eyes, but she dearly missed her husband, her sparkmate. She longed daily to open their bond again and reach out to him to hear his voice, feel his touch over their bond once more, but she knew it would be too dangerous. She couldn't risk a breakdown right now. It wasn't the right time.

Back in the city, as the thousands of Toabots were stationing themselves wherever there was room, Green was still quite concerned. He didn't doubt they could lose now. Just days ago, at twelve Toabots and a team of Toa was all they really needed to stop an invasion of five hundred Makutacons in the Mayan Ruins. But Green still couldn't help remembering what the others had described finding in that tunnel. There could be billions of Makutacons in there. Sure, it was better than what Green was going to do earlier, but they were still outnumbered and possibly even outmatched. The only thing Green could think about right now was getting into contact with the other Toabots on Mars. As positive as Green was that that the Turaga Council wouldn't mind, he wasn't sure what Paradox was planning. From the looks of it, they were planning on going in guns blazing, but Green still needed to know if there were other plans in mind.

"What's the plan, Paradox"? Green asked.

Paradox turned his head to look at his Le-Matoran friend. "We call our friends to arms. All of them. Are you able to get into contact with Firepower"?

Green smiled and nodded, thankful that the second exile was short lived as he responded: "I've got a number. Ketongu emailed it to me before they reached the planet".

Paradox smiled as well, equally as happy as Green that they would get to come back home. Though he and those Toabots had fought through blood, sweat, and tears together for the past several years, they were not just soldiers or scouts in his optics. Neither were any of the Toabots currently stationing themselves. Paradox had followed the "love thy neighbor as thyself" rule with all of his liark, and had thus grown a special connection with all of them. Overall, Paradox saw each and every Toabot, as well as every Toabot ally, as family, and would gladly lay down his life for any of them, as Jesus had done for all life centuries ago. It would be well worth it, as each Toabot was united under the purpose of freeing the Earth from a vengeful enslavement, and through their Lord and Savior, would usher in an era of peace and unconditional love.

Paradox gave a quiet prayer of thanks for protecting his family on Mars. before then giving Green his first order: "Go ahead and give it then. It is time for more reinforcements".

Hearing this, Amber turned to her friends with joyful tears in her eyes as knew that this meant her cousin was coming home and she couldn't wait to see him. Ava and Iris smiled back at her, having come to the same conclusion themselves and were equally excited to see their friend and teammate again. It only seemed fair that they all faced this battle together, even though Tali would not physically be joining the action. Iris quietly promised to take some Cons out for her, Ava was ready to stop Xanthium once and for all, and Amber was ready to see her family finally reunited after all these years. She just prayed that they wouldn't kill too many of the Makutacons. Hopefully, some will be swayed to change sides after seeing the Toabots, Toa and Humans together in unity. Hopefully.

Biomarvel740: So we're getting close to the final battle of Bioformers 2. Any thoughts?

Galem: Can't wait to see what you have in store.

Biomarvel740: Do you mean by descriptions? Because we both worked on the book script together? lol!

Galem: No, for your parts of the story.

Biomarvel740: Oh, okay. (Looks to the readers) You see, we write book scripts with our respective characters lines and write the novels around that, though we do tend to improvise as far as describing action and setting goes.

Galem: Shhh! (covers Biomarvel740's mouth) What are you doing? Don't spill the secret!

Biomarvel740: (muffled shouts at first, licks her hand)

Galem: EEEEWWWWWW! Oh yuck! Oh gross! (Washes hands viciously)

Biomarvel740: (bursts into laughter)

Galem: (fills a big bucket of ice cold water and dumps it on bio)

Biomarvel740: Ack! (Tickles Galem)

Galem: (laughs) I give! I give!

Biomarvel740: (stops with a smirk) Should we tell them?

Galem: nah. Let's give them the chance to guess.

Biomarvel740: Um, okay. (looks to the readers) So how did you all enjoy this chapter?

Galem: (hugs Biomarvel740, smiles at the readers) Please leave a review or PM either of us if you have any questions.

Biomarvel740: We thank you all for reading-

Galem: and please...

Biomarvel740 and Galem: Have a God-blessed day! XD :D
