Mikaelson Mansion

Damon's Bedroom

Klaus got up when Lucy came in and smoothed back his bed head hair.

"Pardon me, I must have dozed off," Klaus apologized softly. He felt his heart squeeze when he looked down at Damon's sleeping form.

"It's okay," Lucy replied. "I just came to leave some healing cream. It's just some herbs that I spelled. It may help."
"Ah, thank you. Actually, Lucy, I need quite the opposite effect. For my brother Elijah, I will leave out the details, but could you make a potion that would disrupt his healing for a time?" Klaus asked, keeping his voice low.

"Ah sure," the attractive African American witch said, looking around the grand room. She had been in here on the night that Damon was causing earthquakes and thunder storms, it looked so much larger now.

"There is a large herbal store in Greta's old secret closet," Klaus went on. "She sealed it with magic, but I know you can open it. Also, there are some grimoires in there. I thought maybe there would be something in it about our new little progeny, Ava."

"Oh yes, actually, I have an idea about that," Lucy said, whispering. "Shall we see if she can really absorb magic?"
Klaus smiled and got up from the bed.

"That is brilliant. If she can open the closet, then we could see if she was able to breach the wards around this house," Klaus said. "I would sleep easier knowing how she got in."

"Let us see then what this child can do," Lucy responded graciously.

"The closet is in Wes' room now," Klaus said. "I am just going to see to Damon and then I'll be done. And Lucy, do you fancy shoes? You look about the same size as Greta. She had quite the expensive wardrobe. You may have anything you like."
"Rebekah doesn't want it?" Lucy asked, thinking of the beautiful vampire. She seemed like she loved clothes and jewelry.

"Oh, she does, but we don't think it's an appropriate wardrobe for school. But for you, Mystic Falls does have a bevy of events year around. You could actually wear the clothes and jewelry. If that doesn't work for you, my brother will write you a check," Klaus said, opening the jar of salve and smelling it.

"Oh, I can't take payment for my magic," Lucy gushed. "Even gifts are iffy. Taking them may anger our ancestors."

Klaus nodded, but then remembered something.

"In New Orleans, the witches there have a Fête de Cadeau, it is a festival where the witches receive gifts from all the factions. The history of the event is a big sordid, but it allows us to honor the witch faction for keeping balance of nature. Can we not honor you the same?" Klaus wondered.

"Perhaps," Lucy said, walking to the door. "I know our mothers and grandmothers accepted the occasional chicken or pig when appropriate as a gift. I have no need of that, but as I am between jobs..."
Klaus smiled, "Yes. You would not need to work for sometime if you figured out a way to sell Greta's items. She had expensive tastes. I have the credit card bills to prove it."

"I'll get Ava and get started. Wes' room, you said?" Greta prompted.

"Aye, across from the kitchen," Klaus said, eager to check Damon's injuries.

Greta left and shut the door. Klaus peeled back the covers and saw that his blood had mostly healed Damon, yet some bruises and marks remained.

"Damn you, Elijah," Klaus cursed. He smoothed on the cream, waking Damon.

"What are you doing?" Damon asked huskily.

"Healing your backside," Klaus answered, feeling waves of guilt.

"Ah," Damon called out, as the salve cooled and then healed the marks. "It's cold."

Klaus exhaled as Damon's skin appeared smooth and unblemished again. He lightly swatted his bottom.

"Come on, get up. You are healed. You can't stay in bed all afternoon," Klaus said in an upbeat tone he didn't feel.

"No, I'm sleepy," Damon said, turning to his side.

Klaus covered him again, "Very well. Go back to sleep. I can bring your supper up if you wish."
"Not hungry," Damon said, before falling asleep again.

Klaus watched him a moment before going to join the witches.

Mystic Falls High School

Library

Dorian picked up another stack of books ready to shelve them. He loved being in the library. It was modern with a wall of glass overlooking the student courtyard. There were banks of computers and printers, but many of the books were old. He inhaled the scent and missed the vast archives at the Armory. If he knew it was safe, he'd go back in a heartbeat...But he was sure his theft of the Travelers' information had been noted.

The librarian was a quiet woman who had been grateful for his help when he wasn't covering classes.

"Ah, Mr. Williams, now that you are here. Could you start culling the stakes? I have several boxes that need to go into storage? With my back, I just can't lift them and the janitors tossed the last box I gave them," Mrs. Beasley asked him. "Please, take my key. I need to get to an appointment. The door is just done the hall, not labelled. No one really even remembers it exists."

"I will take care of it. See you tomorrow," Dorian smiled as the older lady gathered up her handbag, shoulder bag, and several other bags. What she had in those bags, he had no idea.

Dorian smiled and took the key slipping it into his pocket. Before he could leave, Ric came in.

"Hey man, how was your day?" Dorian asked, he hadn't been able to eat lunch with Ric and the other social studies teachers because a math teacher had needed him to cover.

"Good. I took Kol Mikaelson to task first thing and the rest of the day was a hell of a lot better than yesterday. Need a hand?" Ric asked, indicating the boxes.

"Yeah, yeah, that would be great. I'm taking these old books into storage," Dorian said.

"Let's do this and get out of here. Bell has rung, we're off duty," Ric said.

"Sounds good. Hey, did you have an ant problem before? I had to go get some bug spray for your loft," Dorian said, as Ric picked up the remaining boxes.

"Um, yeah. Sorry, I thought that was taken care of," Ric admitted. "Other than that, how the new place?"

"Great," Dorian said. "I would love to get my stuff from my old place, but I haven't heard back from my contacts at the Armory."

"Well, my stuff is now your stuff," Ric quipped. "I think this is the door to storage..."
Dorian put his boxes down and fished out the key. The men entered the dark corridor after flicking on a series of lights.

"Shit, it reeks down here," Dorian observed.

"Yeah, smells like something died," Ric said. "The Mikaelsons called. That's the reason I came down to bug you. I almost forgot."

"Uh-oh," Dorian laughed. "They do have you high on the pay roll. It's like a daily thing, no?"

Ric pressed his lips together.

"Ain't that the truth! And each call is weirder and weirder. Did you ever hear of a witch who could steal magic from other witches?"

Dorian coughed and almost dropped his box.

"Ric, what did you s-say?" Dorian sputtered.

Ric repeated himself and Dorian did now put down the books.

"Man, that is not what I wanted to hear," Dorian said, gulping in the fetid air. "You are talking about siphons. They are the most feared witches ever. Covens either expel them or sacrifice them because they are so powerful. They are said to be able to kill a supernatural by sucking them dry. Why did the Mikaelsons ask this?"

Ric put down his box.

"They have one in the house," Ric said. "A little girl. I better call them. Screw these boxes, we'll get them later."

Elijah's Quarters

Finn squeezed his eyes shut.
"I am loathe to have to punish you again," Finn started. "But what you did to Damon was abusive. Could you not see you were hurting him?"

Elijah sighed and got up and paced.

"Yes, of course, but I assumed he would heal! I purposely did not use the spelled brush so that he would," Elijah defended. "The boy is spoiled and does not think things through! Why would he shift in the house? In front of my children. They could have been ripped to shreds!"

Finn watched Elijah with alarm.

"You are still much to angry to even think straight," Finn determined. "If you were in this state, you had no business trying to discipline anyone. I want you to write out an apology letter to Damon and Niklaus. Do you understand?"

"An apology letter? Are you serious? That's a punishment I have given to Kol and now you are using it against me? I am insulted," Elijah snapped.

"And you will write one to me. And make it 500 words, at the very least," Finn said, his ire rising.

"Five hundred words! Brother, surely you jest," Elijah fired back.

"Make it a thousand," Finn retorted. "And best get started, Sage and I will take care of supper tonight. You will be otherwise engaged. You see, I am too vexed with you to punish you now. However, as soon as I am calmer, you should get a taste of my belt, like you gave to Damon."

"Your b-belt!" Elijah stammered. "Finn, I said I was sorry. And I am to write 3000 words! Can I at least type it?"

"Nay, you write it out by hand. Perhaps discussing what happened will settle you down and let you consider your misdeeds," Finn noted.

"But-" Elijah started to protest.

"Take down your trousers," Finn ordered.
Elijah's mouth hung over, but he swallowed and slipped them down to his knees.

Finn picked up a slipper, neatly off to the side of Elijah's bed. He turned Elijah and pulled down his brief.

Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap!

Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap!

"Ow. Ah, Finn, no!" Elijah babbled as Finn peppered his bare seat with heavy smacks of the leather soled slipper.

Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap!

Whap! Whap! Whap! Whap!

"There, now, sit on your sore behind and start writing. Leave your slacks down. There is more where that came from," Finn warned, turning him to look at the slipper at his eye level.

Elijah was, for the time, pacified. "Yes, Brother."

"And I expect you to be honest," Finn warned, before leaving. Elijah rubbed his searing cheeks and sat. He didn't even know where to start.

Wes' Room

"Ava, can you feel the magic here?" Lucy asked gently. Ava's burn covered the whole side of the girl's face. She unconsciously rubbed it.

"Yes, I think so," Ava said reluctantly. "But I'm not supposed to take magic. It got me in a lot of trouble."

"I am sure it did, but magic is a gift. The ancestors trust us to keep balance and watch over nature. Oh dear, does your burn hurt? Try not to touch your face. I'll put more balm on after we are done here," Lucy said carefully.

"But it itches," Ava complained, frowning. Her freckles were now apparent. Sage had given her a bath and got her some clothes. It was nice to be in clean clothes for once.

"I know. That just means it is healing some," Lucy said. "Now, put your hands on the door. Feel it. It pulses and almost hums. Do you hear it? Feel it? Come on, it will only take a moment."

"I don't wanna," Ava whined. "I want to go outside and play with the dogs!"

Sage had promised if she washed, she could go outside with the twins. Now, this lady was bossing her around. Ava didn't like being lied to. She had even let Sage wash her hair out. She hated that.

"Just try a little," Lucy coaxed. "I need to see what you can do."

Ava frowned, "I just want to go. They said they would help find Mamì. I am afraid she is gone. I can't feel her anymore."

"I will help you find her," Lucy promised. "But it could take some time. Now, be a good girl and listen to me."

"I am a good girl!" Ava shouted.

Lucy gently tried to take her hands and Ava panicked.

"Don't touch me," Ava shrieked, but it was too late. Ava's hands glowed and she took...then, Lucy was on the floor. It had happened again.

Second Floor

Enzo ran into Klaus coming out of Damon's bedroom.

"He's still sleeping," Klaus noted, shutting the door quietly.

"Oh, I though he would be up by now," Enzo said.

"He's exhausted. Whatever Ava did to him, really drained him. Literally," Klaus shared. "I thought you were watching the children?"
Enzo nodded, "Sage is out playing with them again. But Lucy took Ava into Wes' room to do something...That burn. I know I had a crap childhood, but at least they never scarred me physically like that."
Klaus putted Enzo on the back. "I know. It is hard to look at..."

Klaus phone buzzed. "It's Ric."

Enzo overheard Ric tell Klaus that Dorian thought Ava was a siphon witch. "They can be dangerous, Klaus," Ric said. "Watch her carefully."
Klaus said he would call him back.

"I don't hear anything," Klaus said, cocking his ear to the downstairs. "That's not good."
Klaus vamped downstairs and Enzo followed.

They found Lucy on the ground, but Ava was no where to be found.

"She's barely breathing," Enzo said, leaning over the young witch.

Klaus bit into his wrist and fed her his blood.

"Go see if Ava is with Sage and the twins," Klaus implored. "I'll see to Lucy."

"No, you can track her better. I will stay with Lucy," Enzo directed.

Klaus wasn't used to taking orders, but he realized that Enzo was correct.

Enzo was relieved when Lucy started to cough and got her a glass of water, as Klaus disappeared again.

Outside

Sage smiled as Ava approached, "See? That didn't take long. How nice you look all clean! Julian, throw Ava the ball."

Julian tossed the ball as the dogs leaped and chased it, but Ava let the rubber toy hit her in the side.

"I did s-something," Ava said dully. Sage had tried to fix her hair up with the scraps of fabric, but they were filthy. She settled on just braiding her hair, some of it had been burned away.

Sage walked to her. "What's wrong, dear? What did you do?"

Klaus stormed out. "Sage, be careful!"

Ava held up her hand and Klaus staggered backwards.

"Stoppp!" Klaus roared. He couldn't move. Ava had somehow immobilized him.

Sage ordered the twins inside. "Go now, children. Take the dogs."
Julian and Indy looked at each other and made a decision.

"No, Ava is scared," Indy said. She walked to the cowered child. "Ava, it's all right. No one will hurt you here. Let Uncle Nikky go."

"But he's angry with me," Ava said, her hazel eyes troubled. "I hurt the other girl. I didn't mean to..."
Klaus choked out, "She's fine. You didn't hurt her. Now, let me go."

Sage gently leaned down and looked Ava in the eyes. "Honey, it's okay. Let Niklaus go right now. That's it. Go on."

Ava whimpered, "I'm too scared. I would go but I want to find my mama."

Julian came closer, "Ava, let him go. Look at me, Uncle won't hurt you. I promise."
Ava snapped out of her panic and waved her hand again. Klaus was freed.

Sage went to him, "Are you okay? Did you see what Julian just did?"

"I'm fine. And yes, he someone seems to compel her. That could be why Damon shifted like he did. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I don't think I would have believed it," Klaus said, brushing some dirt off him. "Come on now, let's go talk in the house. I'll make you some hot cocoa."
"Really?" Indy chirped.

"Can we have whipped cream?" Julian gasped.

"Yes, my luvs. Go on," Klaus said, breathing normally. "Sage, I'm fine. Go in. I am not afraid of Ava."

The twins followed Sage into the house.

Klaus held out his hand to the small nine year old.
"I know you meant no harm child. I think we know what you are. You will learn to control it in time," Klaus said, as the little girl took his hand.

"What am I?" Ava asked, her burn itching fiercely.

"A siphon witch," Klaus smiled, trying to put her at ease. "And a very powerful one. You can trust me. I will not harm you. Can you see that?"

Ava squeezed his hand and closed her eyes.

"Yes, but is that girl okay?" Ava said, as they started walking. "I want to see her."

"I'll take you. Then, we'll have something to drink," Klaus replied.

"I think I can do the spell now," Ava said. "Can I try again?"

"Of course," Klaus said.

Wes' Room

Enzo smiled as Lucy woke up.

"You're alright, luv," Enzo encouraged. "But don't die as you are full of vampire blood."

Lucy sipped the offered water and coughed again.

"Oh, I don't plan to," Lucy said. "Jesus, I feel like I got zapped by a power line."

"Just a little lass," Enzo replied, helping her stand.

"Thanks. I think I need to rest a minute," Lucy groaned. Enzo helped her to the large bed.

"I wouldn't get under the covers. Who knows what Wes does in that bed," Enzo snarked.

Despite herself, Lucy laughed. "That's rude. You don't care for the doctor?"

"Well, seeing as he tortured me for years. Not really," Enzo said. "But before him, there were others. He actually wasn't one of the worst, by far. Now, can I get you some tea?"
"That would be lovely. Where is Ava? I shouldn't have tried to touch her when she was upset," Lucy realized.

"I think I hear them in the kitchen," Enzo said, as Klaus came in with the girl.

"Oh, you are okay, then?" Klaus asked. "Ava wants to see you."
Lucy smiled, "It's okay. That wasn't your fault. See? I am okay."

Ava nodded, "Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you."
"You didn't," Lucy replied. "You just made me a bit tired."

"I will do the spell now," Ava said, not waiting for a response, she went to the closet. She put her hands on the door and waited. As her hands lit up, the door popped open.

"Ah, good," Klaus said. "It worked. Ava, what you did right now was extraordinary. Do you understand that?"
Ava shrugged, "Can I go now?"

Klaus smiled, "Go on."

Klaus sat on the end of the bed and told Lucy what had happened outside.

"She just raised her hands? No words?" Lucy inquired.

"I didn't hear any, but of course, I was knocked on me arse," Klaus intoned.
Enzo laughed and then stopped when Klaus glared at him.

"I, will, ah, go help Sage," Enzo said. "And I'll get that tea."
"Thanks," Lucy said, watching the handsome vampire go.

"You are lucky to be alive," Klaus said seriously. He moved closer and took her hand. "Enzo told you that I gave you my blood."

"Yes, thank you. I shouldn't have pushed her so hard. I've heard whispers of siphons...Before my mother died, she mentioned something about a coven. The Gemini, I think. She was sick, but saying something about...ascendents?" Lucy shared.

"I've never heard of this. I'll pass it on to Ric and Dorian," Klaus said. "You stay here and rest. I need to see if I can find those books. Do you have the strength to make that anti-healing cream now?"
Lucy smiled, "Not really. I will make Ava a shielding necklace when I can, but you can make that salve. But you will need gloves as it will have to contain vervain, and you can even add some wolfsbane. Get the herbs and I'll show you."

Klaus nodded and went to get what she needed from the closet. He was going to pay Elijah a visit soon enough.

Old Lockwood Property

"Wait, don't," Liz Forbes called out. Some of the officers had found a man in an old well.

Deputy George Singerman was peering over the side, looking down.

"He looks dead," George noted, using his flashlight now to see better.

"Don't get too close," Liz warned. "He's a vampire."

George smirked, Liz had filled him in on the real nature of the town's infamous "animal attacks." He had chalked it up to the department hazing the new guy, he'd been through it before.

But as the light hit the man at the bottom of the wall, George saw him move.

"Shit, he's alive!" George shrieked. Another deputy pulled him back as Liz pulled out a crossbow.

"What the hell are you doing?" George yelled, shaking off the younger officer.

"George, back up!" Liz said again. She fired the crossbow bolts into the vampire as he snarled and shrieked. She finally hit the heart. Frederick was dead.

"Did you just murder that man?" George gasped, about to draw his sidearm. What the hell was happening?"

"George, look again. Check out his teeth," Liz directed. George took a breath and shined his light on the man's dirty face. There were fangs, then, the body shriveled up and turned to ash in front of his eyes.

"That was a special bolt laced with vervain and a few other nasty things toxic to vamps," Liz said, handing the crossbow over to another deputy. "I tried to give you a head's up."

George's eyes were wide and he started to go into shock.

"It's g-gone," George shuddered. "I think you were messing with me."
"I wish," Liz said. "Come on, get in the squad car. I keep a flask in there for times like this."

George let Liz lead him into the passenger seat of her car.

"Look, my family had been law here since the founding, before even," Liz stated, taking the flask out of the center console. "Vampires have been here long before. There are a few good ones who help run things, but these rogue ones have to be destroyed before they start turning folks...Or worse."

"You ain't kidding, are you?" George said, taking a shot of the liquid in the metal flask. Then, he gulped down the rest.

Liz smiled as George coughed and wiped at his mouth.
"Not much of a drinker, huh?" Liz quipped. The big man was solid and had kind eyes. Something about him made Liz feel comforted. He even looked a little like Caroline's dad, her ex, Bill. But unlike Bill, Liz didn't think George was gay. He had talked to her about his wives before.

"No, ma'am," George finally said. "So if vampires are real, then all them attacks have been..."
"Vampires, yeah," Liz answered. "And we also have a handful of wolves and witches around. Like I said, most are fine, but Mystic Falls isn't your typical town. You said you wanted a challenge?"

George balked, "No, I said I wanted a quiet place to raise my girls. Challenge? I meant like forging positive ties with the community and shit like that!"
Liz chuckled, "We need that, too. But we also need people with a good heart and a will to keep our town safe. Can you still do that?"

George looked out the window. He watched the other deputies pour gasoline into the well and burn the remains of the body.

"Yeah, I reckon I can. What time is it? I told Nessie, I would pick her up at the Grill," George said, rubbing the back of his neck. He felt calmer now. If this was a prank, it was a damn good one. "You ain't pulling my leg, are you?"
Liz Forbes tucked a strand of her short blond hair behind her ear.

"No, George, I almost wish I was though," Liz shared. "That vampire we killed, caused one of my daughter's classmates to be turned. She'll be a vampire now. We do this to keep our families safe. Go pick up your girl."

George opened the door, turning back a second.

"What do I tell my girls? Does your daughter know?" George asked.

"Yes, but not everyone does. My advice is to feed them vervain so they can't fall under a vampire's influence or be fed off of. How about we get together and I'll share more. It's getting late," Liz said.

"Yeah, you and your daughter could come over this weekend. I cook a mean steak on the grill," George enthused. "And I promised my girls I would be upfront with them. I want them to know what's out there."

"Understood," Sheriff Forbes said. "You're off duty. Go relax."
George nodded, "Sure, after dinner, homework, brushing teeth and a million other things...Good advice, Boss."

"I know it's a shock," Liz said. "But this is a great town and worth fighting for. Goodnight, George."

George nodded and shut the car door. He had a lot to think about.

Elijah's Bedroom

Bedtime

Elijah had penned the first letter to Damon. He now felt horrible. Elijah had never doled out discipline angry, what had he been thinking?
Finn and Klaus came in. Sage had brought him supper on a tray, but he hadn't touched it. She asked if he wanted to see the children, but Elijah asked if she could put them to bed tonight. He didn't feel worthy.

"Still writing?" Finn asked.

"Yes, Finn. I finished the letter to Damon. How is he, Niklaus? May I see him?" Elijah asked, turning to his younger brother.

"He's fine, Elijah. Physically, but he is still sleeping," Klaus started. "While you were in here being punished, Ava siphoned Lucy and cast a spell on me."

"What?" Elijah said, getting up. "Is everyone alright?"
Finn responded, "Yes, but Lucy is rather tired now. But not tired enough not to teach Niklaus a new recipe."
"You hate to cook, Niklaus," Elijah scoffed.

"Oh, it's not food," Klaus said, producing the glass vial. "It's a concoction to prevent healing. Finn thought you ought to have a taste of what Damon got."

Elijah walked to Niklaus and grasped his forearms.
"Brother, I will never forgive myself," Elijah pleaded. "Punish me as you see fit. I shall not fight you."

"There's more," Klaus said, looking into Elijah's eyes. "Julian seems to have the ability to compel. He used it on Ava when we were outside. She was frantic and had me paralyzed on the ground. With a few words from Julian, she was calm and doing his bidding. Even we cannot compel a witch!"

Elijah's arms dropped. "So that is how he got Damon to shift? I was racking my brain wondering why he would do such a thing. Oh Niklaus, I really screwed up."

Finn came closer. "Your mistake was punishing him out of anger. In truth, you had no way to know what Julian could do. But Elijah, Damon is in a fragile state. Like Niklaus, he has known violence before and it marked him."
Elijah put his hands in his head.

"There's nothing you could do to me now that would remove this feeling I have," Elijah moaned. "I cannot bear it."

Niklaus frowned, "Elijah, stop. I cannot see you like this. Finn and I will thrash you and then you will complete your punishment and move on. Isn't that what you always taught the others? To move forward."
Elijah sat down on the edge of a chair by his fireplace.

"They did not beat their nephew for something that wasn't his fault. He'll hate me, Niklaus," Elijah scoffed.

Niklaus looked at Finn.

"He'll forgive you. But I don't think you should discipline him again. As a tribrid, he will need a firm hand. That is clear, but I think you need to leave that to us. Do you understand?" Klaus asked carefully.

"Of course," Elijah said, exhaling. "Maybe I should leave for a while? Finn, can you and Sage take the children? I-I can't face Damon, not right now."
Finn's eyes blazed, "Absolutely not. You made a vow, Elijah. Come now, tell it to me."

Elijah's voice cracked and he let out a sob, holding his head in his hands.

"I cannot," Elijah said.

"Elijah, Finn asked you what that vow was. I think you ought to tell him," Klaus growled.

Elijah wiped at his face in shame, whispering, "Always and forever."

Klaus put a hand on his shoulder.

"Now, let us purge you of this guilt. Strip yourself," Finn ordered, locking Elijah's door.

"You should just let me go," Elijah said, as he slowly took off his suit, laying it across the couch.

"Never," Klaus said. "But keep talking like that and you are going to regret it, Big Brother."

Finn got an idea. "Or maybe we ought to give him a good mouth washing. I haven't heard Rebekah curse or lie since I soaped out her mouth. Is it in your bathroom, Elijah?"

"Yes," Elijah confirmed.

"A mouth soaping for manipulating me into given you leave to punish Damon. If I knew you were so damn angry, I never would have let you go in there," Klaus said sternly. Elijah stood before them nude and defeated.

"I could only find this," Finn stated, bringing out a bar of Ivory. He had run it under hot water and softened it. "Open up."

Elijah bit down on the white bar of soap and grimaced. Finn gave Niklaus a towel.

"Go stand in the corner, while I prepare the salve," Klaus said, giving Elijah a hard swat on the backside.

Elijah's eyes cut to Klaus, but he couldn't respond with the soap in his mouth.

"Lucy said I need gloves to apply it," Klaus said, slipping the thin white gloves from the medical kit onto his hands. He walked over and started to coat Elijah's behind and thighs with the salve. Elijah moaned and shifted from leg to leg.

"Aye, it's vervain," Klaus shared. "But that won't be the only burn you feel. A few minutes minutes to let that take effect. Then, you can spit out the soap. Think about how Damon felt when you strapped him and how you could have dealt with it better."

Elijah stared at the wall and felt tears course down his face. He should have talked to his nephew more. Why had he just gone to the belt? Elijah kicked the wall with his foot and realized he felt like a small child.

Finn whispered, "I gave him a taste of the slipper before he sat down to write. It made an impression."

"I can't strap him, Finn," Klaus said. "You do that and I'll slipper him before we put him to bed early. He can finish the writing in the morning. He looks exhausted."

Finn nodded and unfurled his belt.

"Elijah, you may go rinse and then come back here," Finn said, after a few minutes passed. Elijah vamped to the bathroom as Klaus watched. Finn had read Elijah's letter and it was filled with self-loathing. Elijah needed this.

"Over the bed," Finn ordered, doubling the belt. He had put a pillow there to raise Elijah's bottom higher.

Elijah wiped at his mouth. He could taste the soap still.

Elijah leaned over and stretched himself forward. He didn't think he had ever been in this position and hoped he never was again.

Klaus watched and reminded him, "Do not reach back or the salve will burn your hands. Are you ready, Brother?"

"Yes," Elijah said through clenched teeth.

Thwap!

Finn cracked down the doubled strap on Elijah's glistening rear end. The belt left a red mark and he followed up with another lash.

Thwap!

Klaus winced from the loud cracks and folded his arms tightly. This was difficult to watch. But he thought about Damon's bruises and steeled himself to let the whipping continue.

Thwap!

Elijah found himself gripping his bed covers. He wanted to twist and turn, but forced himself to remain in place.

Thwap! Thwap! Thwap!

Finn picked up the pace and thrashed Elijah's backside and the tops of his thighs. They heard Elijah sob.

Klaus turned away and braced himself. Finn was methodical and continued the hiding. He gave Elijah another round, starting back on his behind.

Thwap! Thwap! Thwap!

When Elijah's rump was glowing red, Finn stopped. Elijah was crying out after each lick, but didn't try to stop them. His backside was on fire, but he deserved it. He curled his toes and clenched harder on the sheets, twisting them in his hands.
"There. That tis enough," Finn said, rethreading his belt. "We shall not take this too far. That is not who we are."
"I-I d-deserve the s-same Damon got," Elijah wept. Klaus picked up the slipper and flexed it.

"Oh, you are getting spanked over my knee with this handy slipper," Klaus offered. "We are not letting you off lightly. Not until you forgive yourself."

Finn pulled Elijah up and took him in his arms in a tight embrace.

"Shhhh, you took that well. Now, obey Niklaus," Finn said kindly.

Elijah's face was red and wet. He took the cloth from Klaus and wiped his face. Klaus sat on the bed.

"Niklaus, no!" Elijah begged. "Not over your lap. Please!"

"You need this," Klaus said, grabbing the pillow and putting it over his lap. "Come. Don't make this more difficult."

Elijah looked at Finn and saw no help from him. He got over his younger brother's lap, feeling his face burn.

Klaus tapped his bottom with the slipper.

"We love you, Elijah," Klaus said, raising the leather shoe to his shoulder. Whack! "But you will learn from your mistakes." Whack!

Klaus spanked Elijah quickly and throughly as Elijah struggled to stay in position. When Elijah scissored his legs, Klaus swatted his inner thighs hard, causing the Original vampire to howl.

"Owwwwww!" Elijah shrieked.

"Let it out, Brother," Finn directed as he watched Klaus sound spank his other brother's red backside.

Whap! Whack! Slap!

Elijah kicked and threw his hand back in a frenzy. Klaus easily caught it and pinned it to his lower back.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Elijah kicked and even tried to use his feet to protect his fiery seat.

"Feet down," Klaus warned, giving him a moment.

Whap! Whap!

Klaus then fell into a pattern of landing a hard whack to the center of each cheek that had Elijah sobbing loudly.

"Now, you have been punished and I forgive you, Brother. You must do the same to yourself," Klaus noted, now lessening the smacks and slowing down.

Whap! Whap!

"Answer Niklaus," Finn ordered.

"I m-must a-apologize to D-Damon," Elijah finally called out.

"Fine," Klaus said, landing a few more stingers across both cheeks. "I think he looks like he has been sitting on hot coals. That cream really works."

Whap! Whap!

Whap! Whap!"Lucy really came through," Finn agreed.

"Indeed," Klaus said. "Okay, I am going to let you up."
Elijah moaned as Klaus stood him on his feet. He hopped and clasped his hands in front as to not rub his throbbing behind.

"I am s-sorrry," Elijah sniffled. Klaus got up and pulled Elijah to him.

"I know," Klaus said, feeling tears well up in his own eyes. He hated to see Elijah out of sorts.

"Now, right to bed," Finn determined.

"Not yet," Klaus said, holding his arm out to Finn.
Finn hesitated and then hugged both his brothers.

"I am not used to this," Finn said, feeling a wave of emotion.

"Get u-used to it," Elijah whimpered. "Always and forever."

"He's back to us," Klaus breathed, sighing deeply. "Finally."
