On route to Mikaelson Mansion
Evening
Dorian frowned as he watched the town whiz by. He knew he had something else to tell Ric...then, the ugly scene in the high school cafeteria popped into his head.
Oh! Did Jeremy mention any issues with that Tyler Lockwood and some blond kid. Matt? I think," Dorian asked, turning to Ric as the man made a turn onto the Mikaelson property. They had dropped off Dorian's car at Ric's loft that Dorian was staying in.
"No, I don't think so. I only saw him for a minute though at the end of the day before we left. He seemed fine," Ric noted. After having a beer, Ric and Dorian had driven to meet one of their contacts from Whitmore at a bar near campus. It had taken longer than Ric anticipated. He had called Jenna to stay that he would miss dinner and might be late.
They had to share this information with the Mikaelsons. In person, when Ric called the house, he could tell it was chaotic there.
Dorian shrugged a bit. "Something happened when I was covering study hall today. Jeremy was talking to some girl and the other two seemed ready to kick his ass. I could hardly get them settled down and they got pretty mouthy. I talked to Coach Wineman and he got pretty pissed, not at Jeremy, but at the other two. I don't know, man, some of these kids act like they are running the place..."
Dorian wasn't sure he was cut out for teaching kids. Ric had insisted on Dorian staying at his place for free, explaining that Elijah had paid him. But Dorian wouldn't take money from vampires. Never.
"Tyler is kind of the big man on campus bully," Ric surmised. "I guess since he is so athletic and his dad is mayor, he kinda does what he wants. I can talk to them later about it."
"Yeah, I should thought I should mention it," Dorian said.
"And Jeremy doesn't have study hall then. Damnit, if that kid skipped gym again I'm gonna use the board of education on his ass," Ric fumed.
"I think he had a nurse's pass or something," Dorian added. "I always hated gym, too."
"I loved it, but I guess you were too busy reading, huh?" Ric joked.
"You know it, brother. My sister was the athlete in my family," Dorian shared, trying not to think of his late sister. It was too painful, she had so much to live for. Dorian liked Stefan, but still had mixed feelings about helping vampires. Were they really able to be trusted? He didn't know yet.
"Thanks for looking out for Jer, he's struggling right now," Ric said.
"Aren't we all? There are already some cars here. Guess we are late for the party?" Dorian mused. "Hope this doesn't take long."
"Thanks for coming with me, Dorian," Ric said, parking. "All this witch stuff is not my area of expertise. And yeah, I know how you are feeling about the Mikaelsons. It kinda feels like selling out, but I feel like they are trying to do the right thing. Come on, let's get this over with."
Mikaelson Mansion
Basement Cells
"Ahhhh, that bloodly hurts!" Kol shrieked as Lucy applied another poultice to the area that was affected by the werewolf bite.
Lucy scolded, "Sorry, Kol, but hold it to your neck this time. It will help in a minute."
Kol scowled, but held the herb-coated cloth tightly over his neck. He wasn't used to not healing like this.
Klaus turned to Bonnie, who was loitering in the corner of the dank room.
"Are you alright, luv? Your cousin wasn't too hard on you?" Klaus inquired. The young witch was staring at Kol in dismay, a guilty look plastered on her lovely face.
"No, not really," Bonnie replied quietly. "I didn't mean for this to happen. D-Damon was just so fast, I tried to stop him, but..."
They heard Lucy curse and reprimand Kol sharply.
"Kol! I said hold it!"
Kol yelped, "I cannot hold this. Ah, Nik, stop her."
Klaus vamped to the cot and asked, "Can you put him to sleep, Lucy? If not, I shall have to strap him to the bed. I tried to give him my blood, but it didn't work. I don't know if Damon's venom is stronger, but we are almost out of options here."
Kol yelled out again. "Witches...you did this to me. 'By the pricking of my thumbs, Something wicked this way comes...'Namia Exum Solvos...Namia Exum Solvos."
"From Macbeth," Klaus clarified. "We were all fond of that one. The spell I am not familiar with."
"He's starting to hallucinate, I think," Lucy determined. "I'll need to gather some stronger herbs. Bonnie, give me a hand?"
"Right," Bonnie said, gratefully. She was relieved to be let out of the room, Kol was clearly in pain.
Bonnie bowed her head and followed her cousin out.
Klaus tightened the straps over Kol's waist, unsure if they would stop him.
"There, there, Little Brother, just another moment," Klaus comforted. Kol let go of the poultice and tried to loosen the straps. "Nay, leave them. You are losing your mind for a time. The venom must run through your system."
"...He was so fast, Nik...I couldn't move. D-Damon is afraid, Nik. Tell him that he c-can control it. If h-he doesn't, he shall be the end of us," Kol mumbled, still fighting Klaus for control of the straps holding him down.
"Kol, stop," Klaus chided, finally getting a chain for his hands and clanking them shut. Klaus gently held the cloth against the angry, gaping neck wound. It was bleeding through the white cloth, though the wound had mostly congealed. "What a mess."
Elijah came to the door as Sage promised to put the children to bed.
"Oh my," Elijah said. "I didn't think it was this bad!"
"He's lost it for a time, I'm afraid," Klaus said.
Kol burst out, "Damon was f-floating! Like an angel or demon, tell him that he c-can save us...No, Finn, I did not dull your ax, twas Bekah!"
Elijah surveyed Kol who was still muttering. Klaus removed the cloth so Elijah could see the damage.
Elijah inhaled sharply, "My God! Damon did that? What in the world happened?"
Klaus explained what he knew. He got up and paced.
"Lucy thrashed Bonnie pretty good. They are going to put him to sleep as the venom runs it's course. They were trying to help Damon unblock. Bonnie started to say something about a spell. It was almost as if Damon was resistant to her magic," Klaus commented dryly. "She wasn't able to stop him in time and Kol was pinned to the tree."
"Is that surprising?" Elijah asked, as Kol thrashed wildly. "Hush, Kol, just another minute. Be still..."
Elijah pulled up the chair and sat close to Kol.
"I suppose not," Klaus answered. "The New Orleans witches could toss any of our hides into the Mississippi with a nod, but they are well-trained from birth. Bonnie and Lucy are strong, but don't have the support of a large coven-yet."
"Yet?" Elijah asked.
"Don't you see the possibilities? Witches are strongest when they work together. If Damon and Ava could align with the Bennetts, they are on their way to real strength. And your Julian? With his abilities of animal control and compulsion, who could stop them?" Klaus offered. "And with Kol's, um, guidance..."
Klaus drifted off as Kol foamed at the mouth. Elijah found a clean rag and wiped his face.
"Perhaps not even us?" Elijah mused. "But they are mere children."
Kol snarled, "'Weyward sisters', I curse you. Elijah, it b-burns. Mother, Elijah is h-hurting me!"
"Kol, I'm here. Just hold on," Elijah coaxed, looking concerned. "Remember him at 14? I remember when he showered us with flower petals in the meadow. How Rebekah laughed."
"Aye, I recall," Klaus said ruefully. "Then, he burned them up and almost caught my head on fire. I had to dunk my head in the damn stream."
"You smelled like burnt hair for a week. But you made your point, children can have great power," Elijah answered, holding back a smirk at the memory. "I just hate the thought that we may need them to help us so."
"That what family does, Elijah," Klaus retorted. "I hate to see Kol suffer, but twas an ill-thought out plan. Trying to trick Damon into casting magic."
Elijah nodded as Kol ranted incoherently, "Floating...He was f-floating and I will d-drive..."
"Where are they?" Klaus snapped impatiently. "Kol's getting worse."
"Oh dear, I almost forgot. Ric and Dorian are upstairs. They got new information on the siphons and the Augustines. They want to speak to you," Elijah stated. "You go, I'll stay with him."
Klaus told Kol he'd be back. He left his brothers and went to speak to the others.
Lockwood Mansion
Mason drove the boys through a drive-thru and then turned the music up as he drove home. They didn't talk more about what happened after practice and Mason didn't mention that he was now the interim mayor. He thought he'd let the boys eat in peace. He needed to sit Tyler down and have a serious talk with him about his parents and the danger they were in. It wasn't a conversation he was looking forward to.
Then, he saw the black 2005 Aston Martin DB9 Coupe.
"Fuck," Mason said under his breath as he turned into the driveway of the Lockwood mansion.
"Who is that?" Matt gasped. "Elena? Nah, it can't be..."
Katherine was leaning against the front porch. She wore her black leather pants and a tight silky red blouse. Her dark hair was curled and spilled down her back as she toyed with a strand, smirking. Her lips were coated in bright red lipstick and she wore large gold earrings.
"That's Kathy," Mason grumbled, as he got out of the car.
The boys exchanged a look of amazement with each other. Matt got out of the car, leaving the door hanging open.
"Wow, she's like a super hot, slutty Elena," Matt whispered to Tyler. "She didn't look that good at the boarding house."
Tyler groaned, "She can hear you, asshole."
Matt blushed and grabbed his gear from the backseat.
Katherine turned and replied, "Oh, three handsome boys, this must be my lucky day!"
Mason cleared his throat, "Um, Kathy, you know my nephew and Matt. We were going to turn in early tonight, it's been kind of a long day."
"I bet, Mr. Mayor. Congrats. You've really moved up in the world," Katherine gushed, batting her eyelashes.
"What? My dad's the mayor! Uncle Mason, did something happen?" Tyler asked in shock. "Is my dad dead?"
"I think he's okay. Your mom, also, but they may be gone a little longer. I'll explain it all inside. Um, I was gonna tell you. Go in and-," Mason tried.
Tyler stood his ground and then grabbed Mason.
"Tell me! What's going on?" Tyler demanded.
"I will tell you in a minute," Mason said meaningfully, glancing at Katherine. "Now, go inside."
"But-!" Tyler interrupted.
"Do I need to take off my belt? Because in about one second, that's gonna happen. Go," Mason yelled, his nostrils flaring.
Tyler let go of Mason roughly and pushed past Katherine into the house. Matt bashfully followed.
"Oh, you really have this parenting thing down," Katherine quipped. "Now, why don't you put those boys to bed and we'll have a little fun?"
"Kathy, I can't right now. I just found out that my brother is missing and I'm exhausted," Mason explained. "Can we do this later?"
Katherine pouted, "Fine. If you don't wanna play, then I'll find someone else. But don't say you didn't have your chance. Bye, Mason!"
"Kathy, I-," Mason attempted, but Katherine had already disappeared into her car, revving the engine.
"Fuck," Mason said again, watching her drive off, dust and gravel spraying in her wake.
Mikaelson Mansion
Dorian took out his leather notebook.
"Our buddy only had the one volume with mention of the Gemini coven in Portland," Dorian started. "But they have an inordinate number of twins born to them. We aren't exactly sure why..."
Klaus exhaled, "Pardon me, but what does this have to do with Ava?"
Ric flipped to the section on the Gemini.
"Some of these twins have the ability to siphon magic. They don't have any magic of their own, but they can take it from any magical being or spell," Ric said, paraphrasing the text. "They are feared as they can easily kill another witch just by siphoning them. They can also siphon any type of magic apparently."
Klaus stood, "Could they siphon werewolf venom? Kol is right now suffering from a grievous wound to his neck. It's causing him much agony."
"You bit him?" Dorian asked in horror.
"No, Dorian!" Klaus reprimanded. "I did not bite my brother. It was Damon. They had a training exercise...go poorly."
"I'll say," Ric said sharply. "There's only one way to find out. Can Ava try?"
"The girl is traumatized and injured. The Travelers tried to burn her and took her mother away. Does it say anything about them bringing creatures back to life?" Klaus wondered.
"No, not in this book," Ric reported. "But there is more we don't know. They are a very secretive coven."
"Aren't they all?" Klaus muttered. "I will get the child. I don't see how we can wait."
Klaus asked Lucy to hold off on the sleep spell on Kol. He needed to see to Ava.
Children's Room
Sage was reading a fairy tale to the children. Ava and Indy had taken to sharing the bottom bunk, while Julian took the top. Elijah had made a rule that the dogs had to sleep on the floor.
Klaus gently opened the door and the dogs raised their heads.
"Hey, Uncle Nikky," Sage teased. "Finn is with Damon. How's Kol?"
Klaus shook his head slightly.
"Ailing a bit. Say, Ava, luv, would you help me with something?" Klaus asked, smiling to see the children all snug in their bunk beds. The three were wearing blue flannel pajamas, all the same.
"Sure," Ava said.
"Klaus, she's almost asleep. Can't it wait?" Sage inquired, looking concerned.
"I'm afraid not, Sage," Klaus said gravely.
Sage frowned, but helped Ava out of the bed.
"I can't help, too! I'm not tired," Indy exclaimed, tossing aside her stuffed and patched up bunny rabbit toy.
"No, darling, you stay," Sage soothed. "I'll read you an extra story."
"Cool!" Julian yelled, climbing down the bunk bed ladder to join his sister.
"Thank you, children," Klaus intoned. "Sage."
"Really, Niklaus, not too late," Sage urged. "With all the excitement, they are already up past their bedtimes."
"I apologize," Klaus said, bowing slightly. He held out his hand to Ava and she shyly took it.
"Where are we going?" Ava asked as they got into the hallway, her hazel eyes suspicious.
"You know how Lucy gave you that special necklace?" Klaus began. "The one that stops you from taking magic from others?"
"Yes, she gave Indy and Julian necklaces, too. We pretend to be triplets. That's why we dress alike now," Ava shared.
"Ah, yes. I can see that," Klaus smiled. "But you shall have to take it off."
"But I could hurt someone! Almost everyone here has magic and-," Ava said, her voice rising.
"Nay, sweetheart, you can't really hurt me or my siblings. Very few things can kill us, but Uncle Kol has been injured. I would like to see if you can draw that hurt out of him," Klaus said carefully.
Ava toyed with the silver charm that she had been given. Lucy had let her pick the charm and she choose a fish.
"I can try," Ava said, her face brightening with a smile. "I'm getting real fish soon!"
"I know, luv. That will be wonderful. Tell me, when you take the magic, does it hurt you?" Klaus inquired, as they descended the stairs.
"Oh no! It feels good, that's why it's hard to stop. I get filled with a lot of energy," Ava described.
"Ah, good," Klaus said. "We're going to go down to the basement. Can you close your eyes for me? I'll even give you a free ride."
Klaus didn't want Ava to be frightened of the basement. It was still half under construction and looked dismal and cold.
"Ric, Dorian, would you come with us? This is Ava. Ava, these are my friends, Ric and Dorian. They are here to help," Klaus introduced.
"Hi," Ava said.
"Hi, Ava, it's real nice to meet you," Dorian said, shaking her small hand.
Ric tugged at her braid, smiling, "I like your hair."
"Thanks. I'm ready," Ava said, her hand covering her face.
A few moments later, Klaus carried her down, accompanied by Lucy and Bonnie.
"I think we are ready. How is he?" Klaus asked, giving Ava to Elijah.
"You are up late, young lady," Elijah said smoothly. "Now, Uncle Kol is sick, but don't be afraid. He can't hurt you and you can't hurt him."
Elijah set Ava on her feet.
"Ahhhhh," Kol moaned, writhing, though Elijah had tightened the straps and bound his legs with more chain.
"He's real sick," Ava commented. "You want me to take it from him? But what if I take too much?"
"You cannot," Klaus said.
Dorian knelt down, handing the book to Ric.
"Yeah, put your hands on his neck. That's right," Dorian directed. "And then do your thing. He's an Original, you can't really hurt him."
Lucy went to her other side.
"Ava, he's in pain, but you may be able to draw it out. Shut your eyes," Lucy directed. "We're here with you. I'm going to take off your necklace now."
Ava squeezed her eyes shut as Lucy removed the charm.
As the group watched, Ava's hands lit up with an orange light. Elijah removed the dressing, exposing the wound.
Kol jerked and moaned loudly, "Coldddd. So cold, like a g-grave."
"He's okay," Dorian said quietly. "Go on."
Ava continued and the wound sizzled and then closed.
Klaus sighed, "It worked."
Ava opened her eyes proudly.
Elijah picked her up and hugged her. "Well done, dear. Well done."
Lucy went and looked at Kol's neck. "He'll need to sleep now. I'd leave him down here for a while, but I think Ava did it. You are a very powerful little witch!"
Ava beamed with excitement and then covered her scar with her hand self-consciously. Elijah pulled her hand away and kissed it.
"Come on, my dear, let's get you back to bed," Elijah smiled.
Dorian's brown eyes were wide with excitement.
"That was the neatest thing I've even seen," Dorian said, smiling.
Klaus replied, "Yes, it was a marvel. I am concerned, though, that my blood was useless against the venom. I think I need to see to Damon now."
"Um, Klaus, there are a couple more things we found out," Ric said.
Klaus breathed out slowly, saying, "There always are, aren't there?"
Lockwood Mansion
Mason found Tyler in the kitchen about to crack open a beer.
"Whoa, hold up there. None of that for you tonight, you still have homework to do. Hand me the beer and sit down," Mason said, taking the bottle and opening it.
"I'll rather stand," Tyler said hotly. "Uncle Mason, where the hell are my parents?"
Mason sat at the kitchen table.
"Okay, look, I met with the sheriff today. She thinks your parents were involved in some vampire hunting organization and are on the run," Mason started.
"On the run? Like for their lives? Are you serious?" Tyler shouted.
"Tyler, calm down. You know your mom and dad," Mason reasoned. "Are they stupid people?"
Tyler turned and faced his uncle, breathing heavily. He leaned over and grasped the back of the kitchen chair.
"No, stupid, they are not," Tyler conceded. "Maybe they are snobby and uptight, but my parents are not dumb."
Mason stood and got Tyler a water bottle.
"Right, then we need to trust that they will be okay. I've been gone a long time and I don't know what they were into, but I have to believe they had a plan. A good one," Mason shared. "They left a file with all the paperwork making me your legal guardian."
"So they knew and didn't even say goodbye?" Tyler yelled. He slammed down the water bottle on the table, spilling it.
"Keep your voice down," Mason said, putting his hands on his belt buckle in warning.
"Sorry," Tyler apologized, trying to get a hold of his emotions. "It's just real frustrating that this all seemed to come out of nowhere! They were on the Council and now something else. Explains why they were always gone though."
Mason went behind Tyler and rubbed his shoulder.
"I know, man," Mason said quietly. "But I don't think they had time to prepare much. But your mom wouldn't have called me out of the blue if it wasn't urgent. And the mayor thing...if I didn't agree, you'd have to forfeit the house and the properties. There is some kind of agreement that a Lockwood always has to be mayor. Bullshit, I know..."
"So I'll have to be mayor? Jesus Christ, Uncle Mason, it's a shitty job," Tyler fumed. "My parents always made comments but I thought they were joking. Why didn't you just tell the town to shove it?"
Mason turned Tyler to him.
"Cause this is our town, Tyler. I see that now. Our ancestors fought to carve out this place to keep us safe. You know, tomorrow is the full moon...," Mason started. "The Bennett witches are going to make me a moonlight ring. Did you ever turn?"
Tyler looked into Mason's eyes. "Only when Klaus made me a hybrid. It...hurt a lot."
"So you get it," Mason determined. "I only turned a couple of times, but it's bad. I guess that is why it's called a curse, right? Here, I won't have to do that anymore. It's like being free again. We have friends and allies here. Out in the world, a wolf alone...they don't live long."
Tyler nodded, "Well, thanks for saying. It would be kind of funny if they forced me to be the mayor while I was still in high school."
Mason laughed and hugged Tyler.
"Yeah, it would be, especially when you're still getting your butt torn up. Now, head up and do your homework. No video games until it's done. Remember, I brought that paddle home," Mason chuckled.
"Yeah, it's in my bag," Tyler said, dodging Mason and grabbing his bag, running for the stairs.
"I'm not gonna chase you. Put it in your underwear drawer," Mason called after him. "I love you, boy."
Mason wasn't sure if Tyler had heard him, but he heard him called back.
"Me, too, Mayor!" Tyler said, leaning over the bannister.
Mason shook his head and sat down to drink the rest of his beer. No need to let it go to waste. He'd try to call Kathy later. Maybe.
Mikaelson Mansion
Klaus' Office
"So they think the Augustines are on the run?" Klaus repeated after Dorian had filled him in. Klaus had asked Wes and Enzo to join them after finding out that they had more information on the group.
Enzo crossed his legs and then spoke, "All of them?"
"That they know of," Dorian replied. "The organization was very secret, even the members didn't know how was a member at times."
"That doesn't surprise me. Slippery, like eels," Enzo said in irritation. "They always knew this day would come."
Wes pinched the skin in between his eyes.
"The board of trustees at the college were all in on it," Wes said. "That's who I answered to. They approved any additional funding that I couldn't get from the Whitmore foundation."
Damon strolled in, holding his cell phone.
"Liz Forbes called. She said the mayor and his wife are on the run. Probable Augustines," Damon shared.
"Damon, you are supposed to be resting," Klaus retorted.
"How's Kol?" Damon asked, as he patted Ric on the shoulder and shook hands with Dorian.
"Fine. Ava siphoned out the venom," Klaus explained.
Damon was impressed, "Really? That's new. A witch who can do that is very rare. I'll have to bite more people."
"Do that and you will answer to me, son," Klaus quipped. "My blood wouldn't heal Kol. I fear your venom is of a different ilk. How? I am not sure."
Wes coughed, "I can test it. In the lab, I mean..."
Dorian rubbed at his mustache, saying, "That's an idea. Magic studied by a scientist. Like can that be done?"
Wes answered, "In short, yes. I've spent my career doing it. Of course, I have more questions than answers, but it is worth a try."
"Like cutting out someone's liver 500 times?" Enzo challenged.
Wes paled, "The regeneration properties in vampire blood and tissue are unparalleled, but unfortunately for humans, I could not replicate them."
Klaus stood up and poured more vodka in Ric's glass.
"No, I have to work tomorrow," Ric said.
"Like that ever stopped you before," Damon smirked.
Ric sighed and took a drink.
"We are getting ahead of ourselves. We still need to know if there was a connection between the Travelers and the Augustines," Klaus stated. "And how this Professor Shane fellow fit in. There is a puzzle piece we are missing. They could still be a danger to us."
"Ava's mum. She may be the link," Enzo said. "Lucy said she can't trace the blood."
"They have her cloaked," Klaus stated. "And only powerful witches can do that. Or...she is dead."
Dorian scratched his head, "But don't witches consecrate their dead?"
"Aye, mostly if they use ancestral magic," Klaus answered. "Then, they draw off that power. I shall ask Lucy to keep trying. Now, I have kept you gentleman too late. Ric, Dorian, thank you for coming. This was very valuable and timely information."
"You got it," Ric said, setting down his drink and getting up.
"I'll keep digging into this Gemini coven," Dorian promised. "Ava might have some connection to them. You said her father was a wolf?"
"Yes, but humans can turn from a werewolf bite. It's not always inherited," Klaus said. "Though most will die from the infection so that is pretty rare."
"Unless they were a witch to start with?" Dorian proposed.
"Interesting theory," Enzo quipped.
"I'll see you guys out," Wes offered. "Actually, Ric, I have a couple of questions about that grading program, if you have a minute."
"Sure, Wes," Ric said.
Damon turned to follow Ric.
"Damon, go to bed. I'll be up in minute," Klaus said. "You, too, Enzo."
Enzo nodded, but Damon balked, "I'm fine."
"I know. But I'd still like to speak to you. Go on up," Klaus ordered.
"Yes, Dad," Damon said sarcastically.
Salvatore Boarding House
Night
Katherine sashayed into the house with the guys she picked up at the bar following behind her.
"Shhhh! My daughter is sleeping!" Katherine hissed drunkenly.
"You have a daughter?" One of the men laughed loudly.
"Yes, and she's a ball breaker," Katherine giggled.
"Well, she can't be too old. You are just a young thing yourself," Another man complimented.
"You'd be surprised," Katherine chuckled.
Pearl was in the library as she sat on the sofa with Vicki's head cradled on her lap. Harper was contemplating chess pieces on the board in silence.
"Harper, take Victoria up to bed in my room. I'll be up shortly," Pearl directed. "Thank you."
"Yes, ma'am," Harper said, carefully lifting Vicki and avoiding eye contact with Katherine.
"Harper, you are up lateeeee," Katherine guffawed. "Pearl must be getting lax."
"I'm over here, Katherine," Pearl said sternly.
"Crap, it's my 'mom'! I'm in big trouble now," Katherine laughed, as one of he men grabbed her by the hips.
"Don't you have a room, Kathy?" he asked.
"I think you men better leave this house," Pearl stated firmly.
"Uh-oh, I'm gonna get it. Mom's mad," Katherine squealed. "Boys, protect me!"
"We're not leaving until she tells us, too," the second man said boldly. He was unshaved and looked unkept to Pearl. Where had Katherine picked them up? A dock?
Pearl vamped to him.
"You will leave this house now and forget it exists if you value your pathetic life," Pearl compelled. She turned to the second one and said, "Run for your life. Forget this woman and go back to whatever hole she found you in. You wandered off and got lost, you will recall none of this fiasco. Go now!"
The men turned and exited the house, immediately forgetting any indication that the had been in the company of any woman.
"Pearl! No fair, Mason rejected me! I deserve a little fun," Katherine whined.
"Katherine, you are behaving like a spoiled child. Need you be reminded how I treat naughty children?" Pearl inquired, shutting the door after the fleeing men and locking it.
Nadia had been woken up by the ruckus.
"Mother, there you are! We were getting worried, it is late," Nadia said. "Come to bed."
"I am going to speak to her, Nadia. Please help Harper situate Victoria. I will be up shortly," Pearl said grimly.
Katherine kicked off her shoes and threw down her large handbag.
"I'm going to have another drinky. Join me, Pearl, you wouldn't know fun if it hit you in that stern face of yours," Katherine taunted. "Nadia, join us!"
Nadia rolled her eyes and headed back towards the bedrooms. She was grateful Pearl was there.
Katherine went to the cellaret behind the couch and started to fix herself another drink.
"I need ice. Be a dear and fetch me some," Katherine asked coyly.
"I will fetch something," Pearl intoned quietly. She went to the kitchen and grabbed the biggest wooden spoon she could find. Pearl winced as she heard Katherine turned on the stereo, hoping that Katherine didn't wake up Annabelle. She fished the vial of vervain from her sweater pocket and poured it over the spoon in the sink.
"That should do the trick," Pearl said, blowing on it to dry faster.
Pearl marched back into the living room to find Katherine stripping out of her blouse and dancing wildly.
"Finally, did you have to go to Alaska to get that ice," Katherine called out.
"You are done drinking, Miss Katherine," Pearl said.
Katherine made a face and tossed her shirt into the fire.
"Those men stunk," Katherine yelled, over the music.
Pearl turned it down, but let it playing at a moderate level.
Katherine balked, "Don't be bitch about it. Blast that shit! I want to party."
"The party is finished," Pearl said, vamping to grab Katherine.
"You know better than to bring strange men here. What if Victoria woke up and tried to feed from them? Or they robbed this place? It's not even our home. Think, Katherine!"
"Oh fooey on you, Pearl! Come on, let's dance," Katherine whined, as Pearl started to lead her to the sofa. "Stopppp."
Pearl clamped her free hand onto Katherine's ear.
"Oh, my earring!" Katherine shrieked, but Pearl wasn't having it.
"You are going to get a long overdue spanking, Katherine. Your own daughter is more mature than you are. You have lived for centuries and what do you have to show for it? Nothing but a long list of enemies in every city!" Pearl expounded.
"Every country, but that's not your business. It it wasn't for me, you wouldn't even have a daylight ring. I got that for you. Me!" Katherine snarked.
"I also wouldn't have been locked in a tomb," Pearl retorted, tossing Katherine over her lap on the couch.
Crack!
Crack!
"Ohhh!" Katherine said after a sharp inhalation of breath. Her tight leather pants were thin and she kicked up her bare feet.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
Pearl spanked hard with the heavy spoon until Katherine was clawing at the couch and kicking her legs wildly.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
"You have no r-right!" Katherine wailed, now feeling the full brunt of her friend's anger. "F-Fuck this. Stoppppp!"
"I have every right. I am your only real friend and I will not let you ruin your life anymore. You are turning away your only daughter with this behavior," Pearl lectured sternly.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
Pearl paused and stood Katherine up.
"Did that sober you up a bit?" Pearl demanded. Katherine's make-up was dripping down her face and her hair was wild.
"Oh! OWwwwieeee," Katherine yelped, rubbing her bottom furiously.
"Now, you can take your spanking or keep carrying on and wake up the whole house. You decide," Pearl said.
"N-No more!" Katherine sobbed.
Pearl didn't answer but unbuttoned the tight pants and rolled them down to Katherine's knees. She flipped the struggling vampire over her lap and brought the flat side of the vervain treated spoon down on Katherine's sheer black panties.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
"OHHHHHHH!" Katherine howled.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
Pearl tried to work down the underpants but ended up tearing them off.
"Those w-were $500!" Katherine winced as the spoon now descended on her bare, plump cheeks.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
"Now they are worth nothing," Pearl commented. She caught Katherine's hand as she reached back to protect her burning behind. Pearl then clamped her leg over Katherine's. "Ah, these trousers do come in handy. Do they not?"
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
Pearl lambasted Katherine's buttocks were short, sharp swats that covered her whole bottom. Katherine cried and wiggled her behind, but could do nothing but take the energetic paddling.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
"The vervain will keep you feeling this tomorrow at breakfast. Which you will be up for at a reasonable time! No more sleeping half the day away," Pearl reprimanded.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
When Pearl started spanking Katherine's sit spots, the vampire raised her head to cry out. But then just sobbed into the couch cushion. Her rump was on fire and there was nothing she could do. Pearl was strong and determined to teach her a lesson.
"I-I'll be g-goood," Katherine finally wailed as she kicked off her pants frantically. They flew several feet away.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
"What else do you have to say for yourself?" Pearl demanded.
Katherine rattled off a list of things she would do from cleaning to spending more time with Nadia.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
"And? How did you get this rich clothing? Did you steal it?" Pearl inquired, now lightly smacking Katherine's upper thighs.
Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.
"Yeahhhhhh," Katherine confessed weepily. "B-But I'll s-stop, just l-let me up. My butt is burninggggg."
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
Pearl finished the spanking off by getting Katherine another round of cracks, when Katherine lay spent and defeated, she stopped.
"There, we shall start a new leaf then," Pearl said. "Katherine, I do love you. You are vivacious and full of life, but you cannot behave so anymore. You are a mother. You have to start to act like one."
"Sorrrry, P-Pearl, about e-everything. I n-never meant to leave you in the c-cave so long," Katherine apologized. She had saw this before but this was the first time Pearl felt she meant it.
"I know," Pearl said, lifting her up. "I forgive you for everything. But there is someone else you need apologize to."
Katherine hopped again and tried to touch her scotched bottom, but it was too sore.
"Who?" Katherine sniffled.
Pearl turned Katherine and spanked her bottom with her hand five times on the center.
Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!
"Your daughter!" Pearl snapped. "Do I have to put you over my knee again? Because I have done this all day and can continue all night..."
"Oh," Katherine moaned. "Yeah, I will..."
Pearl pulled Katherine onto her lab and cradled her as the other vampire sniffed and cried a little more.
"I do l-love N-Nadia, Pearl," Katherine whispered. "And you. But how can she love me? I abandoned her. All I gave her was a name."
Pearl smoothed Katherine's hair.
"That was not your fault," Pearl soothed. "But what you do now with this chance is everything. Show her you care. Get to know her. Tell her what happened to you...Everything with Klaus, the running, and everything after."
"But-," Katherine started, but was interrupted by Nadia's voice.
"Mother? Pearl?" Nadia said in horror.
Pearl opened her left arm and indicated that Nadia should come to them.
"Come, child," Pearl beckoned. "Your mother wants to speak to you."
Nadia tentatively joined them and listened as Katherine told her everything. Pearl excused herself and let the two woman talk on the sofa until the late hours of the night.
