Chapter Three:

Hallii Potter was more than a little nervous about sneaking her way through the halls of the British History Museum to the exhibit where the pretty bracelet was located after closing hours. But the idea of being accepted and loved by someone was far too tempting for the young girl whose 'family' had made it very clear to her that she wasn't wanted. As she hid behind an object of another exhibit from a security guard, Hallii couldn't stop herself from thinking back to the mysterious letter she had found inside her pillow case that prompted her to sneak back into the British History Museum when the rest of her 'family' left (claiming to receptionist that she was going to use the restroom), signed by a 'Blake Ouroboros', who claimed in the letter that she had taken in more than a few kids over the course of her life, a few of which had been kids who were unwanted by their 'families' for one reason or another throughout her life of (supposedly) more than a few centuries and therefore empathized 'Blake' with Hallii. Even claiming, if what she instructed Hallii to do in the letter didn't work, that she would personally come to Hallii and welcome the young girl into her home with open arms before whisking Hallii away.

Another thing that Hallii couldn't stop herself from thinking about was the woman she spotted looking at the pretty bracelet. Particularly the fact that the woman had been holding a rather fancy looking cane with the handle/pommel of the cane being shaped like a kind of owl with jewels as the eyes of the owl and wearing an equally fancy top hat that was divided in two halves, each half a different color with the left side being a greenish blue color and the right side being (as strange as it sounded) a light black color, and a pair of goggles reminiscent of the eyes of an owl strapped to the hat. Hallii hadn't been unaware that the woman had been watching her as she reluctantly walked away from the display case, but she wasn't sure how to interpret the expression on the woman's face when Hallii and her 'family' moved on to the next exhibit. A brief glance back towards the bracelet before reluctantly complying to her 'family's wishes(/orders) to come along strangely made a rather distinct and vaguely disturbing image to flash inside her mind. The image of a feminine face that resembled the face of a porcelain doll with a total of three eyes in a triangular formation, only one of which was open with the other two eyes being closed, seemingly looking directly at Hallii with an expression of one eyed curiosity.

As the young girl continued her approach towards the exhibit where the bracelet was, she couldn't help but overhear brief snippets of conversation between a pair of security guards talking about something. Based on what she managed to pick up on, the pair of security guards were talking about a pair of apparently (in)famous thieves, Papillon d'Ombre and Papillon d'Ombre the 2nd, the thieves' world spanning crimes and one of the guards complaining that they missed their kids, a set of triplets whose names were apparently Bentley, Murray and Sly, who seemed to be very young if the other guard's reaction of practically squealing at the sight of a picture that the first guard produced from their back pocket. Not that Hallii really paid much attention to the guards' conversation as she entered the room where the bracelet was, finding the room completely empty and the glass case being open for some reason with the bracelet still inside.
