Pairing: Finn/Stefan (M/m) hand, stick

The Compound, French Quarter

New Orleans, Louisiana

Klaus pressed his hand over the sigil of their family. It was in intwined serpent that he had commissioned in the 1800s. It still stood like this house. Last night had been a blur. Marcel's staff of vampires had gotten everyone settled into rooms and fed. He had humans on hand for emergencies. No plastic blood bags here.

"Yeah, that has been there forever," Marcel said, coming in the courtyard, with a rabble of his lackeys. "I think this used to be a stable at one time."

"I taught you sword play right where you stand," Klaus replied. "You don't recall that little wooden sword? You thwacked the baker's son on the head with it and I had to take it away. Oh, you were so angry with me..."

Marcel waved his guys off.

"Look, man, I appreciate your position, but none of this is true. I was turned in the 1920s. Sure, my memory of my human life is murky, but I think that happens to a lot of vampires," Marcel said with assurance.

"Son," Klaus said, closing his eyes. "You must have been compelled. That is the only explanation I can think of."

"Son?" Marcel laughed, showing his perfect white teeth. "My daddy was a poor cotton farmer. I remember that much."
"What was his name?" Klaus asked.

Marcel's smile faded.

"You know, I think it's time you folks moved on home. This place is big but we have kind of a party thing going on in the weekends. I do it for my guys, you know to blow off some steam. It's pretty ingenious really," Marcel said, recovering.

"I cannot leave you here again," Klaus said tightly.
Two vampires came in and whispered in Marcel's ear.

"Well, I am pretty busy, as you can see," Marcel said. "Hey, have another drink and we'll talk in a little while."

"They think they found a lead on Lucien?" Klaus said abruptly.

"Wow, you've got good hearing even for a vamp," Marcel said, glaring at his guys. "Guess it's nice being an Original. Hey, I'll get those witch supplies for your mom today. I know a little shop that specializes in that stuff."

"I am not just an Original," Klaus said in a low voice. "I am a hybrid. Say, I can help you track Lucien. I made him. I know how he thinks."

"Right, you hear that, Diego?" Marcel asked the vampire with an afro who was slumped against the bar. "A wolf and a vamp. We heard of you down here, but I thought it was all bullshit. A legend, you know. But just let my guys and me take care of Lucien. This is still my city, you know. I run it as I see fit. Got that?"

Klaus' face clouded with anger.

"Marcel, there are pictures of us together. I can prove it. Just give me a chance to-," Klaus tried.

"Those can be faked, my friend. Look, have a drink and I'll catch up with you later," Marcel said, gesturing to Diego. "We gotta go."

Klaus balled his fists up.

"Niklaus, I thought I would find you here," Elijah said smoothly. "The children are still sleeping. All three in the bed, tangled together."

"And Mother?" Klaus asked, stepping over to the bar to pour them drinks.

"She is pouring through her spell book," Elijah said. "Along with our new sister. Mother is anxious to get back and see Henrik, as am I."
"Yes, that is most wonderful," Klaus replied. "Finn said he is tired, but doing well. I have long dreamed of this moment. We owe the witches a great debt, though I hope they don't try to kill us before we can replay them."

Elijah took the amber liquid.

"Cognac? At 6am? We are surely back in New Orleans. To family!" Elijah said, raising his glass.

Klaus nodded and emptied his glass.

"I cannot believe Lucien got away," Klaus spat angrily. "I think Marcel has a lead on him, but he wouldn't allow me to go."
"Allow you? Since when does Niklaus Mikaelson allow once of his children to dictate his schedule to him?" Elijah scoffed. "Speaking of, have you spoken to Damon or Kol?"
"Nay, they were exhausted. But I'll tell you I am ready to thrash the whole lot of them, including you," Klaus ranted.

"Don't take this out on me," Elijah said, pouring more drink in their glasses. "I did not wish this to happen either. The Strix and those Travelers out played us. Really, Julian and Indy surprised me. Poor Lucy was almost hysterical in that hotel."

"I imagine so. But she was relieved to see young Bonnie unharmed," Klaus noted. "The anchor...I wonder how close that spell was to being completed when they banished those spirits? It does turn the blood cold to think of it."

Elijah stood up and looked around.

"We had many happy times here, Niklaus," Elijah recalled. "But we have to get home. I am uneasy being here. Another one who escaped was Katerina."

Klaus examined his nails, he had scrubbed his hands, but he couldn't seem to get all the blood out. That battle was nasty. Never had he seen vampires fight like that, especially against werewolves.

"I spoke to Ric," Klaus revealed. "He is much relieved about Elena, and Damon, of course. But he said that Katherine left the Gilbert device for Nadia. Why would she do a thing like that if she was fully involved?"

"You think she's a prisoner? No, she's involved, brother," Elijah said firmly. "Now, I'm going to send the staff out for some beignets for you. That will brighten your spirits."

Klaus looked at him with mournful eyes. "My son, he doesn't remember anything."

"He will, Niklaus," Elijah said, putting down his drink. I didn't want to get your hopes up but I think that is what Mother is working on. If anyone can do, she can."

"As well as Freya," Klaus said. "What do you make of her? I am loathe to admit it, brother, but I don't trust her. She looks like a waif. A sad one at that."
Elijah's face grew stern. "Do not start, little brother, I have no patience for your paranoia right now. I'll tell you what, I'll order the food and then we'll go interrogate our sirelings. What say you?"

"Now, that would really cheer me up," Klaus said, brightening. "But I don't understand why I can't kill them."
"Mother doesn't want anymore bloodshed," Elijah said in frustration. "I thought that Serratura would make a nice prison for them, but I suppose we need to get Lucien first."

"Yes," Klaus said, his thoughts elsewhere. "Elijah, before you go, you know that if Marcellus is compelled then there is only one other person besides us that could do that, right?"

"Right. Father, it's the only thing that makes sense," Elijah replied. "What's the problem?"
"Remember when our compulsion of the Trinity was broken?" Klaus stated.

Elijah paled, "When the Hunters daggered us..."
"So if Father's compulsion still stands...," Klaus begun.

"Then, he must still be alive," Elijah finished with horror. Niklaus always was the most clever of them, Elijah thought. And he was right about this.

Mikaelson Mansion

Stefan came in and found a new kid in the house.

"Where were you?" Finn asked, putting another blanket over Henrik.

"I was at Pearl's and at the battle in town," Stefan said.

"I was worried. Kol and Aaron came back and no one had any idea where you were," Finn said. "I had to lie and say you were accounted for. I do not like lying to Sage."

"Um, sorry, I actually was there. The phones were out," Stefan said. "And things got pretty hairy in town. For a time, I didn't think we would make it out alive. Then, the Gilbert device and some bell sent all the demons and Travelers back wherever the hell they came from. It was something to see. Any word from New Orleans?"

"Yes, everyone is safe, but it seems like it was also quite a show. Stefan, this is my brother, Henrik," Finn said. He filled Stefan in on the few details he knew about. "I'm not sure what happened but I guess my mother and eldest sister are also back."
"Back? As in, back from the dead? Wow," Stefan said. "Hi Henrik."

"He's shy," Finn said, translating for the boy. "I'm going to let him sleep a bit. Why don't you go up to your room? I think we need to talk."
Stefan's alarm bells went off.

"Am I in trouble here? I-I got a call from Pearl and just left. How was I to know that World War 3 was going to break out?" Stefan demanded. "God, you are acting like Damon!"

"And I said to go to your room," Finn said, his voice stern.

"Look, Finn, I appreciate the concern, but I'm not your kid," Stefan scoffed. "So stop treating me like it."

Finn looked at Henrik, who was asleep.

"Keep your voice down," Finn warned.

"No, I won't. Maybe I should go back and stay at the boarding house. I don't need this crap right now," Stefan said, picking up his jacket.

"Wait, you aren't going anywhere," Finn determined. "There still might be danger out there. Several of the vampires escapes and their whereabouts are unknown."
"Fuck this," Stefan said, turning to walk back out.

Finn grabbed Stefan and started marching him up the stairs.

"I was going to just speak to you, but I see you need more than that," Finn warned.

Stefan struggled and tried to break free, but the Original vampire was much stronger than him.

"No, stop. Owww," Stefan complained. "Let me go."
Finn continued on until they got to Stefan and Kol's room and pushed him in, shutting the door firmly.

"Now, are you going to listen to reason or do I need to put you over my knee?" Finn asked, as Stefan dropped onto his bed.

"Put me...Are you fucking kidding me?" Stefan gulped. "I didn't even do anything!"

"That's right. You took without anyone knowing and are now going to leave again. Not on my watch," Finn said, sitting and flipping Stefan over his lap so fast that Stefan's head swam.

"Wait! Jesus, okay, you made your-," Stefan shrieked. "Owwwwwww."

Finn's hand descended across the seat of Stefan's snug pants rapidly.

Smack. Smack. Smack. Smack!

"Enzo! Helpppp," Stefan yelled. "Help me, Enzo! Fuckkkk!"

Smack. Smack. Smack. Smack!

Finn chuckled, "Enzo also isn't too happy with you and he can't get you out of this spanking."

Smack. Smack. Smack. Smack!

Stefan's eyes bulged as Finn heated up his rear end quickly. It stung like bees were attacking him.

Smack. Smack. Smack. Smack!

"Owwwwwwww," Stefan yelped, kicking as much as he could, trying to swim off the bigger man's lap.

Smack. Smack. Smack. Smack!

"Stop thrashing around or I'm going to take down your trousers," Finn warned. "And I don't like the foul language one bit."

The door opened. "Someone called...?" Enzo said, his mouth dropping open.

Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!

"H-He's f-fucking killing me!" Stefan said, breaking into short sobs.

"Looks like you're getting a good hiding," Enzo said. "I'll just be on my way."
"Enzo, hand me a stick from the fire place, would you? I do not think I am getting through to this young man," Finn determined.

Enzo went to the fire place and grabbed a stick of kindling that might do the trick. He winced as Finn stood up Stefan and jerked down his jeans and boxers. His behind was already decorated with pink blotches.

"Here," Enzo said. "Sorry, mate."

Finn tipped Stefan back over and started to switch his behind with the stick as the younger vampire howled and squirmed.

Enzo slunk out of the room and shut the door. Sage was in the hallway.

"What's going on?" Sage asked, eyeing the door.

"You don't want to know," Enzo said.

"Sounds like someone is getting a spanking," Sage said, her eyes wide. "I wonder what happened."
"No idea. Ah, I'll go get the grill ready. I think Finn said we were having burgers tonight," Enzo said, making his way down the hallway.

"Yeah, I thought something easy would be good. Plus, Henrik needs to start eating some solids. He's a doll, isn't he? Oh, I think Aaron's girlfriend will be joining us so we should get all the meat out," Sage reported. "Glad she's not here now, though."

"Aye," Enzo said, as they made their way downstairs.

Rebekah's Room

Rebekah woke up and couldn't remember the year. The room was exactly the same down to her perfumes and rogue sitting on the dresser. Someone must dust in here, she realized. She heard something at the door. Maybe the maid?

"Come in," Rebekah called. It was Ava.

"What are you doing up, my sweet? It's still early," Rebekah said, opening her arms to her niece. Ava scrambled with some difficulty on the high bed.

"It's tall," Ava said shyly.

"Ah yes, I think there is even a step under the bed. It's very old," Rebekah said, cuddling with the child. "How are you feeling?"

"Okay," Ava said slowly.

"It's okay to be sad, luv," Rebekah said. "I'm a little sad myself."
"Why? Daddy is sad, too," Ava said.

"Um, it's kind of a long story. Are you hungry? Come, I'll fix your braids and we'll get you something to eat," Rebekah coaxed.

"Not hungry," Ava said, touching her scar. "I didn't remember what happened...but now I do."

Rebekah looked down and her heart broke.

"Oh Ava, I'm so sorry about your mum," Rebekah said her voice thick with emotion.

"She was hurt in the fire I started when they tried to take me," Ava said. "I think she was alive but then she wasn't. They tricked me."

"Yes, that was very mean. I think most of them are...gone now," Rebekah said. "They won't bother us again."
"You mean that?" Ava asked, propping herself up on one elbow.

"Yes, of course. Where's your stuffy?" Rebekah asked.

"Don't know. Lost it in the car, I guess," Ava muttered.

"Well, if I remember correctly, there used to be some toys around here somewhere. Probably in the attic," Rebekah said slyly.

"From when you were a little girl?" Ava asked innocently.

Rebekah laughed, "No, but there was a little boy who lived here. I used to buy all kinds of silly toys. Well, buy isn't really the word, but..."

Rebekah paused.

"What's wrong?" Ava asked.

"Nothing, luv," Rebekah said. "But you know, we ought to get you into the bath and then we'll have a look around. Are you things here from the hotel?"

"I saw them in my room," Ava confirmed.

"Go get your clean clothes. We both need to wash up," Rebekah said, absently. Ava nodded and hopped off the bed, leaving the door open.

Rebekah shut the door and engaged the latch. She lifted the carpet and found the loose board, opening it to her secret stash. Yes, it was all still here. If Marcel didn't remember this, it was all lost.

Mystic Falls

Mayor's Office

"I know there is something you aren't telling me, Uncle Mason," Tyler demanded.

"Look, Tyler, I'm up to my ass here in cover up mode," Mason said sternly. "Can we talk about this when I get home?"

Tyler folded his arms across his chest and didn't budge.

"I thought you quit being mayor," Tyler snarked.

"Yeah, I tried. You see how that is going," Mason fumed. The sheriff was also up to her elbows having Caroline compel almost all of the citizens who were possession. His assistant had been possessed and was down at the police station with the sheriff. Not all of them had survived their wounds. They were going with the whole "gas leak" explanation as always.
"If it's about my parents, you can tell me," Tyler said, challenging his uncle to lie.

"Okay, fine," Mason heaved, getting up from his desk. The phone was ringing and with Katherine gone, he needed help."Umm, you know Ric found that stuff about Matt's family in the archives?"
"Yeah, and the stuff about the bell? So what?" Tyler scoffed. He knew he was being an asshole, but with what they went through last night, he didn't care. Caroline was still furious that they missed the dance.

"I am starting to think that your parents aren't running from the Augustines, I think they are working with them," Mason blurted out.

"What? What do you mean?" Tyler demanded, leaning forward and putting his hands on the desk.

"Did you ever hear your parents talking about Kingmaker Industries?" Mason questioned.

Tyler shrugged, "I didn't pay much attention when they talked. You know how my dad rambled about boring stuff, especially when he was wasted. What is it?"
Mason fought back a smile, his brother was a bore.

"It's a company that was trying to buy up Mystic Falls. The odd thing is that your dad was helping them," Mason admitted.

"No, my dad wouldn't sell an inch of Mystic Falls away," Tyler stated.

"Yeah, that's why I thought it was so strange," Mason revealed. "Ric called and said for us to put out an APB on this guy, Lucien Castle. He's the owner of the corporation. It's probably nothing. Forget I said anything."

Tyler nodded, "But if they were involved, then this could be worse than we thought."
"Yeah, I guess. Look, I really didn't want to bring it up. Listen, bud, it's been a rough couple of days. Take my truck and go home and get some sleep. I'll get a ride with someone," Mason said, coming around the desk.

"I might head over and see how Care is doing," Tyler stated.

"Tyler, I want you to get some sleep," Mason repeated.

"I will, man, but I need to see my girl," Tyler argued. "Then, I'll go home and sleep, I swear."
Mason gave him a stern look. "You better. I'll be home as soon as I can. I love you, kid."
"Love you, too," Tyler mumbled, taking the offered keys. "And I hope you know, I'm throwing all your crappy country music tapes out the window on the way home."

"You do that and you won't sit for a month," Mason said, pulling Tyler to him and kissing the top of his head. "Now, go. I better answer this damn phone."

"Have fun with that," Tyler smirked.

The Compound

Kol and Bonnie sat on the bed as Esther looked through the spell.

"If a vampire compelled a mind, it would be very difficult to remove," Esther noted. "Freya, have you ever dealt with this?"
Freya shook her head. "No, I haven't had too many dealings with vampires, aside from my visit here in 1914. I was always more concerned about reversing my own sleeping spell."
Kol bit his lip. "Mother, cannot we just say, you will remember what you are repressing?"

Esther looked up from the book.

"I do not think so, Kol," Esther replied. "That could do terrible damage to the mind. The person may lose all of their faculties."

Bonnie thought and then spoke, "What if a siphon could remove it? Ava is young, but you've seen how powerful she is. Could that work?"
"A siphon? What is that?" Freya asked, toying with her fraying dress. Rebekah had said they would go shopping today, but until then, she was stuck in this moldy old thing.

"A siphon is a very rare witch that cannot garner magic from nature nor ancestors," Kol explained. "She must take power from other supernaturals to channel magic."

Freya looked horrified, "But that is an abomination of nature!"

Bonnie chuckled at the look on Kol's face. "So is Kol, but we let him slide on that."
Esther's face was unreadable. "That tis my fault. Nature rebelled by making my children thirst for human's life force. Ayana, my friend, warned me but I did not heed her. Kol, I am so sorry."

Kol stood and went to his mother.

"It has been a wild ride, Mother," Kol said, kneeling by her side and taking her hand. "We made our piece with it long ago. But we never got over your death. If only I could kill Father with my own hands."

Freya grimaced, "Father? How dare you? You remarked something about him at that party so long ago. I think you best tell me why you detest him so much!"

"Freya, calm yourself," Esther advised. "There is much that happened after my sister took you, much of it ill."

"Father was a beast who never spared us a kind word," Kol fired back. "Mother, you know my words are true. He even tried to kill Nik a few times. Now, I've wanted to kill that hybrid bastard a few times, but-"
"Enough," Esther shouted. "If I am to do this, I need silence. Please, Kol, this is not the time nor place."

"Fine," Kol spat. "Come on, Bonnie, let's get a drink."
"Wait, Bonnie, you look so familiar to me," Esther said, turning from the desk. "Come, let me look upon you."
Bonnie looked at Kol and he shrugged.

Esther got up and took Bonnie's face in her hands. After a moment, she smiled, "Ayana's descendent, with your powers, I should have guessed..."

"Ayana, your old friend?" Bonnie asked in disbelief.

"Yes, she preserved my body," Esther shared. "I suppose if it wasn't for her, we never would have come to this land. She heard of a place free from plague."
Freya frowned, "Oh yes, I heard about your story about me. Dead from plague. I wish only that that had been the truth."

Esther looked down in shame. "I did not know what I was doing Freya. I had no children at the time. I could not have known what I was giving up. I could not fight my sister. Her magic was dark and wild. Like you, the eldest is always the strongest in our line. Forgive me."

Freya's eyes sparked with rage. "I will forgive you when this curse on me is ended. How about that, 'Mother?'"
Freya didn't wait for an answer and stalked out of the room.

Esther rubbed her temples in pain as she slumped back into the chair, defeated.

"Well, that went well," Kol said. "Mother, I shall get you a cup of tea for that headache. Chamomile, if they have it."

"You know me well, son," Esther said sadly. Bonnie and Kol walked out and carefully shut the door.

"Um, did you guys ever consider family therapy?" Bonnie suggested. "I think you guys have a lot to work out."

"Uh, don't bring that up to Elijah. He claims to have been friend with Sigmund Freud," Kol laughed.

"No," Bonnie protested. "Really?"
"I wish I was joking," Kol said. "Now, I better get her that tea before shit really goes down."

Dungeon

"Your favorite place is still intact, Niklaus," Elijah said as they descended into the cellar.

"I see that. Marcellus may not remember me, but perhaps he remembers his lessons still," Klaus proposed.

"Or he is just too busy to turn this section of the house into his night club," Elijah sneered. "One of the 'guys' told me that they feast on human tourists! Can you believe that? Then, they erase their memories after they heal them. One of those fellows fell into the canal and is now part of the crew after they fished him out!"

"Oh, that's clever," Klaus said admiringly, approaching the cells. They had Aurora and Tristan separated. "I will do Tristan, you Aurora?"

Elijah barked out a laugh, "Ah, no. Aurora was your lady love. Let me deal with the little count. I think I make him nervous."

"Very well, Elijah," Klaus said tiredly. He should have brought that liquor down here with him. "She's in that room."

Klaus went on to the next section.

"Tristan, I hope you are awake," Klaus called out.

Tristan was rumbled and his head askew.

"Actually, I have just now fallen asleep," Tristan complained. "Thank you very much. Is this some form of torture? This cot is practically useless."
"Stop your incessant ranting," Klaus said impatiently. "I need to know where Lucien is. Now."

"Lucien Castle is dead to me. I shalln't tell you a thing," Tristan smirked. "But I would like a work with Aya. I know she didn't mean to take over the Strix."
Klaus reached through the bars and snatched Tristan up by his neck.

"Do you ever shut up? That mouth of yours can drive a man to murder. Now, tell me everything you know about Lucien's business or I will tear your fucking head off!" Klaus roared, throwing Tristan against the wall.

"Ah, my back," Tristan moaned. "You are a brute!"

Klaus went to get the keys and open the cell door.

"Stop! Stop, I'll tell you," Tristan capitulated. "He, ah, he has a lab where they are, ah, extracting..."

Klaus was out of patience and grabbed for the keys.

"Go on, extracted what?" Klaus demanded.

"Werewolf venom," Tristan said continuing, "he made some serum that he injects into those guards of his. You saw it for yourself."
Klaus blue-green eyes narrowed in on Tristan.
"Werewolf, you say," Klaus repeated slowly. "Where does he get the venom?"

Tristan stood and tried to brush off his ruined tux.

"He captures wolves from all over the world," Tristan shared. "And your young friend, Mr. Gerald, well, he cursed a pack and Lucien is going there next. That way, he doesn't have to wait for the full moon to do his deeds."

"What do you mean? Explain," Klaus yelled.

"The wolves from last night are Crescents," Tristan said, cowering. "Marcel had a witch curse them a decade or so ago. They only turn human at the full moon. He's probably at the swamps right now scooping the remaining ones up. That girl, Hayley, she's one of them. Some kind of queen to them, if beasts have such a thing."
Klaus turned away, "If you are lying to me..."

"I'm not! I swear it," Tristan moaned. "I've given you what you wanted, now free me. I'll take Aurora and you'll never see me again!"

Klaus had Tristan tell him the details on the location. Though it had been many years, Klaus thought he knew the spot.

"Oh, you are our prisoner now," Klaus laughed. "Enjoy the cell. I'll be back later to chat some more."

He went to get Elijah.

"Elijah, come. We must go," Klaus said impatiently.

"Where?" Elijah said. Aurora was out of it and muttering nonsense. "Aurora has lost any marbles she might have had."

"To the Bayou," Klaus said. "I'm afraid Miss Marshall might be with them."

Louisiana Bayou

"Lucien, I simply cannot continue in these shoes," Katherine complained. She swatted another gnat or something out of her face and stopped dead in her tracks.

"For heaven's sake, woman," Lucien chortled. "You are wearing boots."

"Two thousand dollar heels," Katherine moaned. "How much further?"

"Alexis, darling, any luck?" Lucien asked, looking over at the shapely redhead.

"I though you said she was a fake, an actress," Katherine corrected.

"I might have told a small fib. She actually is a very talented witch, but she was in several pilots," Lucien whispered, winking. "Anything, my dear?"
Alexis paused, looking at her map, "Up there, over that ridge."

Alexis had used Crescent wolf blood to do a locator spell of sorts. She hadn't been happy to go back to the burnt out mansion to get the blood, but when Lucien wanted something, he wouldn't take no for an answer.

Lucien motioned for his troops to go on ahead. "And remember, lads, I need them alive. If they attack, do not kill them."

Lucien's men were well-equipped with tranquilizing darts as well as nets. It was almost impossible to get decent venom from an uncooperative wolf. He had had more success with duplicating human blood, though the taste was horrific and fifty percent of the time it killed the vampire. Science took time, Lucien told himself again. But with the Originals after him, time was now short.

"And make sure you get the queen alive. She's the key to this all," Lucien reminded his people.

"That horse girl is a queen," Katherine babbled. "My ass..."

"Yes, you are correct, of course. Remind me why I brought you here," Lucien said, turning his eyes to the beautiful vampire.

"Because I can help you hide from Klaus. I ran from him for 500 years. Do you think anyone else can say that?" Katherine said wryly. "And I'm too pretty to kill. Don't you think?"

"Hush, dear, Alexis will get jealous," Lucien chuckled. "And an angry witch is nothing to toy with."

"Yeah, like those Sisters last night. Um, did they know they were going to die doing that spell? That was pretty intense," Katherine rambled. "And any word from Mystic Falls?"

"The spell was stopped, I hear," Lucien said in disappointment. "No matter. I have plans to take it over someday soon."

"Oh," Katherine replied, checking her watch. "It's actually kind of a boring, crappy place. Why are you so interested in it?"
"I'm not," Lucien said. "Well, I wasn't, but the Armory is near and I thought it would be another nail in Nik's proverbial coffin. Poetic justice, you know, for them to get entombed in their birth place."

"I got one," someone yelled out. A snarling wolf in a net was hauled and placed into one of the moving trucks.

"Um, Lucien, do you really think you can capture the Originals? I mean, what's the point?" Katherine ventured.

Lucien stopped, "That prophecy might have been a load of shite, but the implication is very real. Alexis is the one who discovered the sirelines were connected. They die, we die."

"But they really can't be killed so...," Katherine pressed.

"But there is white oak out there. I made it in my lab. I even have some in this pistol I have here. Want me to test it out on you?" Lucien warned, his eyes growing cold and brutal. Katherine felt a chill and backed off, getting the warning very clearly.

"Ah, no, that's not needed. Ouch," Katherine said, stumbling over a small hill.

Lucien grabbed her arm. "Mind yourself, Miss Pierce, it is dangerous country out here. I have aims that your small mind cannot yet imagine. Ha, if you think Niklaus is an animal, you have no idea what sort of beast I shall aside as once my plan is complete!"
"We got another one!" a guard announced.

"Ah, how nice," Katherine quipped. "It must be your lucky day."

"Careful, Katherine," Lucien warned. "I do like a pretty heart shaped-face, but I know what you are up to and I'm not afraid to cut that face off whilst you are still conscious. I also happen to know that your lovely daughter is still in Mystic Falls. Betray me and my people will snatch her and use her in our next experiment. Dying from a werewolf bite is a very nasty way to go."
Katherine's eyes went wide and she didn't say a word as they caught the next wolf. This man truly was a beast.

The Compound

"They left? Again," Rebekah said. "All of them?"

"Yes, ma'am," the servant said. "And I was given orders that no one is to leave the grounds. I'm sorry. We can send out for whatever you may require."

"I just want to know when they will be back," Rebekah answered sharply.

"I've no idea, Miss," the man said, bowing.

A servant had already brought a boatload of new clothes for the visitors. Rebekah was wearing jeans and a white tank top that fit her like a glove. They had each been given a bag of toiletries. Rebekah wanted to look her best for Marcel when she saw him, but of course, he was already gone.

"What's going on?" Kol asked, coming into the kitchen. "You are being rude to these people. They are delightful and so delicious. It's good to be home."

"It's not our home anymore and the last time you were here, you will put in the box, Kol. Remember? You didn't tell me that Elijah and Nik left again. And Marcel is gone, too. This is bullshit," Rebekah snarled.

"Luv, settle yourself. It's wolf business," Kol said, taking an apple out of the bowl. "I like what he's done with the kitchen. They must have knocked out that wall that was over there."
"Fuck the kitchen, Kol," Rebekah fumed. "I am sick and tired of being left out of things."

"Left out? Where the bloody hell were you? I was the one playing the kids and entertaining them," Kol responded, biting into the apple. "Were you feeding off the live in humans? Now that is something we should adopt at home."
"I was looking for toys for the kids, if you must know. Kol, you aren't listening to me," Rebekah said, lowering her voice. "I am tired of being treated like a child around here. Well, worse than one!"

"My advice? Then stop acting like one," Kol fired back. Rebekah took his apple and threw it in the trash.

Kol shook his head, he had lost his appetite anyway.

Bonnie and Elena were in the courtyard. Lucy had taken the kids upstairs to play checkers. They were delighted that there were several cats living in the Compound. The cats followed them up to the game room as they played.

"Jeez, fight much?" Elena said, sitting back as Rebekah stomped in.

"I cannot take my brothers," Rebekah ranted. "I had something important to share and they all just took off. Don't they realize that we were freaking kidnapped, too? Like maybe they should ask if we are okay for once? Bloody idiots. You know, if Marcel could just...Hey, what are you guys drinking?"

"Wine," Bonnie laughed, offering her glass. "There's like a real bar there. Fully stocked. It even had cut up lemons ready."

Rebekah took a sip and made a face of disgust. "Ah, that's the cheap stuff. You know, we should get out for a bit. I think I saw a cool looking place on the way here. What do you say?"
Elena giggled, "Hey, I'm on vacation, but I thought they told us to stay here?"

"And Lucy is right upstairs," Bonnie said, pointing.

"And Damon is still sleeping, I think," Elena said, looking up at the second level. This mansion seemed to take up a whole block.

"Girls, aren't you sick of always being told what to do? We'll be back before they even know we are gone," Rebekah said in low voice.

"Yeah, I guess we are in New Orleans," Elena said, raising her eyebrows.

"Not only that, the French Quarter," Bonnie added. "But how are we going to get out of here? There are vampires at every door."
"You two leave that to me," Rebekah said, smiling.

Rousseau's Pub

"This is so cool," Bonnie gushed, grabbing Elena. "Like a day ago, we were captives and now we're painting the town red. I love it here."

"I'll get us some drinks," Rebekah said, putting down her bag on the table.

Elena winced, "Just hope Lucy doesn't paint your ass red if she figures out we've bounced."
"Oh, my ass? I bet she'd nail you, too. She always thought your mom let you get away with too much," Bonnie grinned. "Like when you wrecked your bike into her car and tried to blame it on me?"
"I was like ten and my mom paid for it," Elena recalled. "Accidents happen."

Rebekah returned a moment later with a tray of drinks.

"What's this?" Elena asked.

"Don't know," Rebekah said. "I just took it off that guy. I realized I don't have any money."
"You compelled him? Awesome," Bonnie said, taking a drink. "Ugh, that's awful. Give me that clear one, maybe I can stomach it."

Elena sipped at a beer. "Weird to drink beer that isn't all gross and watered down. If the guys could see us now, they would be so jealous."

"Hey," a pretty blonde lady said. She was wearing a name tag that said "Camille." "I hate to interrupt but I think that guy is looking for you girls."
Elena looked up and locked eyes with Damon.

"Shit, it's Damon," Elena gulped, she spilled some of the drink on the new blouse she was wearing.

"Wait, I'll make us invisible," Bonnie hissed. "I just need a minute."

"Kol, I found them," Damon called.

"Hello, ladies," Kol smirked. "What are we drinking?"

The party was over.
