A/N: So this isn't as long as the last chapter but I hope this is still a fun read None the less. Not much to say this time. Let's get to it.

"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three is not so easily broken." – Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV)

"Well brothers," Gali said as she turned her gaze to her fellow Toa.

"I suppose we should move from recalling the past and start discussing what comes next, yes? While our elemental powers are impressive, I suspect our minds are our greatest weapon. And with the help of our new friends, I suspect we will have a greater advantage." she said. The Toa turned to look at the three huntresses with them.

"Gali is right," Tahu said

"We need to find these masks fast. On top of that Ruby is unaccounted for and we need to find her as soon as possible. The sooner we find the masks and Ruby, the better. The Turaga of my village said these masks will give us great power. I know my mask gives me the power of protection and shielding."

"That's right, Kopaka found his mask of shielding too," Pohatu said. Tahu frowned.

"Yes," Tahu said irritatingly. Kopaka hid a smirk at Tahu's annoyance.

"Well, there's five more masks for each of us out there." Tahu finished.

"Not to mention this island is massive. Ruby and the masks could be anywhere right now." Yang said. Onua nodded.

"Yang has a point," Onua said. "According to my Turaga, the masks are hidden all over the island and Makuta has set his Rahi to guard them and who knows where their friend might be. This will not be easy."

"Fine, fine." Tahu began. "Anyway the thing is that we need to find them, fast. We each have a map that leads to our Kanohi so here's the plan. We'll split into groups to find the masks and if anyone sees Ruby, your huntress notifies the others with their scroll. Gali, Lewa, and Blake, you can search the jungles and beaches together. Onua, Kopaka, Weiss, you search Onu-Wahi. Pohatu, Yang, you two can come with-" Tahu never finished his sentence as he was interrupted.

"Wait for a quick second," Lewa interjected "Why bother with the pair-making? If speed is the priority then why bother with the pair-making? We can just journey-search the island on our own. We seek-find our masks while our friends seek-find this Ruby fellow. Plain and simple." The Toa of said.

"Tahu has a solid plan. We split into three groups, find our masks and if we see Ruby we get her up to speed and we reunite." Blake said

"As much as I would not like to work with Kopaka again, it is a sound strategy. It's fast and we aren't alone." Weiss agreed

"Brothers, huntresses, can't you see we have been brought here for a reason? I think it best we stick together, at least until we know what we're up against." Gali said.

"She's right," Pohatu agreed. "These Rahi are not to be trifled with and are nothing to face alone. If we travel together, they should be of little trouble. Right, Kopaka?" Pohatu said. He looked at the Toa of Ice who shrugged. He was growing impatient. Why hadn't he left yet?

"I can't agree, Toa of Stone," Kopaka said. "We should split up. As I already told you, I prefer to work alone." Pohatu gave a slightly hurt expression. Weiss rolled her eyes.

"Gee, I wonder why?" she muttered. Kopaka noticed her expression and glared at her. Ever since they started this quest, all she'd done was bicker and complain. He wanted to point his sword at the heiress and get some answers for her harsh attitude towards him. But now was neither the time nor place. He would get his answers in time but not right now

"You may prefer it, but would also prefer being chased by that sharp-horned beast if I hadn't been there to help you trap it?" Pohatu replied to Kopaka.

"Enough of this bickering!" Tahu interrupted. The other Toa and the huntresses looked at Tahu

"We don't accomplish anything by standing here and debating. We've made out decision. We split up into small groups. Can't you see it's the best of both worlds?" Tahu asked.

All I see is someone who thinks power belongs to whoever shouts the loudest. Well, I for one refuse to bow to such a leader. Not as long as I have life in this body. Kopaka thought as he glared at Tahu. Weiss noticed his stare.

Finally, we agree on something. Weiss thought. She may not like Kopaka, but she also wasn't going to follow someone who acted like that. The notion of how Tahu acted hung for a bit. She recalled her own experiences and how she acted during her first semester at Beacon, then looked at Tahu and then Kopaka and moved her eyes back and forth between them. She then recognized how similar to her they actually were as Tahu glared back at Kopaka.

It doesn't matter. Tahu thought. There are more important things to worry about.

The Toa began to argue again. It was then that the huntresses noticed something.

"Do you feel that?" Yang asked.

"You mean the wind picking up?" Weiss asked.

"Yeah, that," Yang said with a nod.

Blake, however, noticed something more subtle. The sky had darkened. Not much but a thin layer of clouds began to cover the sky. However, what really set her off was the distant sound of thunder. Then it happened.

CCCCCCCCRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAKKKK!

Without warning, the earth beneath the Toa yawned and split the clearing. The earth trembled as cracks emerged around the Toa and the huntresses. Birds flew in a panic as the trees shook and soon, Blake felt a tingling sensation. The air was becoming static. The cat Faunus's eyes widened in panic. Onua noticed this and felt it in the earth.

"GET DOWN!" Blake and Onua shouted as they jumped for cover. Lightning flashed a few lengths away. The Toa and huntresses jumped away from the lighting and followed Blake and Onua's lead. Several trees and shrubs burst into flames as wooden shrapnel in all directions from the lightning strikes the trees as they split open.

The wind picked up as rain and hail began to rain down.

"What kind of crazy storm is this? An earthquake, thunder, lightning, rain, and hail all at once?" Lewa said over the noise of the storm. Gali shook her head and covered her face against the wind

"This is no ordinary storm." she cried. "It has to be the work of Makuta."

As soon as she said their enemy's name, the storm dissipated and any sign of the storm was the scorched foliage and the fissures in the ground. WBY was stunned.

"What the hell? It just stopped?" Yang asked.

"Eerie," Pohatu said. Blake began to grow worried as Weiss looked stunned. However, Yang was terrified. If this was Makuta while he was imprisoned, then what would he be like if he forced Ruby to free him?

"Clearly, Makuta knows we're here." Tahu said, "There's no time to lose. We need to find Ruby and the masks — now."

Takua and Ruby approach the shore of Ga-Wahi. Smoke looms on the horizon as they hit the shoreline. Ruby jerks forward as the boat stops abruptly. She looks in the direction of the smoke and dashes off in a swirl of petals to Takua's shock.

"Hey, wait up!" Takua shouts as he jumps out of the boat. He hastily grounds the boat. It's not his best work but he does what can. Then he rushes to Ruby who phases through a gate with her semblance. The gate is made of smooth stone and decorated with oceanic carving. On his left is a large stone, similar to the smooth one in his dream, hanging from a chain. To the right is a large seashell attached to vines hanging from another chain. A series of stones of different sizes are scattered across his feet in front of him. The text at the top of the gate reads:

Ga-Koro

Takua sees a circle within a circle moving around with the number of stones and the scales movement.

Takua takes the largest stone and puts it in the shell. The circle in the gate turns with the blue circle rising toward another small blue circle directly above and the large stone rises as the shell lowers. It quickly became obvious. The gate was one giant scale.

If I can align the two blue dots, maybe I will get in. Takua thought. He then put all the rocks in the shell and the circle edged the two dots closer and closer. Then, the dot moved past its target. Takua looked at the shell. It looks like he'll have to find the right weight.

Takua took out all but the biggest stone. He tried one combination, just a tad off. He tried another one, but it was off by the narrowest of margins. He tried a third combination, but it didn't even reach it. Takua grew frustrated and took out all of the stones. It was then he noticed something once he looked at the big stone. Each stone had a different size class to it. There were four small stones and three medium stones. He looked at the dial on the gate and back at the stones. Taking the larger stone off the scale, and resetting it, he weighed one medium stone and one small stone. He noticed that the small stones created slight adjustments while the medium stones had a noticeable effect on the scale that help the larger stone work. He then weighed the largest stone. The scale shifted towards the blue dot with the circle moved to half the distance to the dot.

Takua then got an idea. He took two of the smaller stones and two of the medium stones and placed them on the scale. The circles moved, the dots aligned, and the gates opened. Takua smiled and rushed inside.

"Ruby! Ruby? Ruby where…" Takua paused as he turned the bend. "…are you?" he finished.

When Takua caught up to Ruby, she was standing in the middle of a ruined courtyard. Her expression was sullen at the sight before her.

The village that is, or was, Ga-Koro was a ruined town. Many seaweed huts had roofs dented or holes in them from the attack. There were tread tracks from the attack and footprints from panicked Matoran. One hut near what looked like a rotating dock had a boat crashed into it and the deck was trashed as smoke rose from inside the hut. What appeared to be a stage had part of its backdrop damaged and in the main avenue was a handful of dead Ga-Matoran. Some were missing chunks of the torso as a silver substance mixed with the water. Some lost an arm or leg and one was missing its head. It looks as if something hit it clean off.

As Takua walked forward he felt his footstep in something soft and mushy. He looked down and gasped as he jolted and stepped back. The sight was too gruesome to describe as Takua tried to hold in some form of lunch he had at some point. Suffice it to say, the Matoran was neither getting up nor moving without her legs and face under her mask. Takua tugged at Ruby's cloak. Snapping out of her shocked daze, she looked at the Ta-Matoran.

"We should probably find Nokama, let's look for that pump Macku told us about." Takua said. Ruby nodded.

Neither said a word as they entered the ruined village.

The pair walked through a partially flooded village as the giant lilypad platforms seemed to sink with each step they took. Ruby noticed one of the huts was open and ran inside. The interior of the hut looked like an office of sorts. A desk was on the right side near a window with a techno-organic fish of some kind mounted on the wall above it. Several statues lay on the ground as other stones, similar to the ones near the gate surrounded a carving of a mask she did not recognize was mounted on the wall in the center of the hut and surrounded by a wreath of orange and red flowers. The floor was flooded and parts of the accessories and some overhead lighting was either torn up, smashed, or destroyed along with what appeared to be a ruined, seashell fountain on the right side of the room. On the desk was a yellowish, golden crystal that seemed to give off a faint glow. As soon as she touched the crystal, its glow began to brighten. Ruby closed her eyes and averted her gaze before looking at the crystal again. It was now as bright as a flashlight and seemed to work as one too. Thinking it could be useful, Ruby tucked it away in her pocket and walked out of the hut.

Takua, meanwhile, found a smaller hut. Inside was a hole that one could dive into with a glass tube where a small jellyfish swam in a circle creating a blue light. On the wall was a blue backpack of sorts. Takua took the pack back and strapped it to his back. As he exited the hut he noticed a structure, unlike the other things in the village. It was made of metal and had two inflatable sacks and two gears with a hole missing in the middle. He found it.

"Ruby, I think I found it! I think I found the pump." Takua exclaimed. Ruby turned to the voice of Takua who pointed to the pump and Ruby came running. She then noticed an orange button and acted in haste.

Ruby pressed the button. One of the gears turned but the other stayed still. Nothing happened.

Ruby tried again, same result.

"It's not working," Ruby said with concern.

"Well Macku said that the Rahi smashed the pump," Takua said. Ruby rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment.

"Oh, right," Ruby said "So, what now? We can't just leave the Matoran underwater. Do you have any idea where Nokama is?" Ruby asked.

"Your guess is as good as mine," Takua said with a shrug. Ruby sighed. She turned to the water and then she noticed it. Just peaking above the water was a small tube of seaweed. Not big enough for anything to crawl in but small enough to get a good amount of airflow in and out of wherever it was. Ruby knelt down as Takua turned to look at Ruby.

"What did you find?" Takua asked.

"I'm not sure, but I have a hunch," Ruby said, staring at the tube. The silver-eyed huntress lowered herself to the tube.

"Hello," Ruby called. "Is anyone down there?" there was a brief pause. Then a voice was heard.

"Who's that? Who's there?" the voice asked. Takua rushed to the hole

"Don't worry, we're going to get you out. Macku sent us to help you." Takua said.

"Macku escaped? Thank Mata Nui, we were so worried about her! You must listen, we are trapped underwater! The door is stuck and we can't open it! The village pump was smashed by the Rahi and a piece fell into the water. If the pump is repaired, the hut will rise to the surface, and we can escape. If you can find the missing piece and repair the pump, it will float us back up and maybe save the village." the voice said.

"You got it. We'll find the piece. Just hold on! We'll be back." Takua replied.

"Good, I left a Lightstone in my hut. It might help you see underwater." the voice replied. Ruby remembered the crystal she found and pulled it out and Takua saw it as it glowed. The Ta-Matoran turned back to the tube.

"I don't think that's going to be a problem." Takua

"Please, hurry back my friends! You are our only hope! I don't know how much longer we can survive in here, and the Rahi may return!" the voice said.

"Don't worry we'll get you out!" Takua said. As they turned to leave, Ruby stopped and turned around.

"Wait, what can you tell me about the Rahi, what do they look like?" Ruby asked.

"The Rahi are the wildlife of the island. They have been corrupted by Makuta to torment us and the other Matoran for a thousand years. The ones that attacked us are called Tarakava. They are giant lizards with arms built for fighting. Normally, they use them to fight for mates and to hunt. However, Makuta has turned them into his aquatic attack beasts bent on destroying our huts. I do not know what else he has done to these once majestic creatures but please be careful. The Tarakava are not to be underestimated." the voice replied.

"Got it, thank you. Just hold on a little longer." Ruby said as she ran off as she failed to hear the voice's reply.

"Good luck Child of Mata Nui."

Ruby ran to the smaller hut Takua was in previously.

"Here, we can find the piece if we jump into the water here." Takua exclaimed. Ruby nodded and gave Takua the light stone. Ruby took out her weapon and it unfurled into a scythe.

"You find the gear, I'll look for the Matoran." Ruby said,

"Got it, let's find that gear." Takua said. Ruby nodded and the two jumped into the water. Ruby looked at Takua who nodded and began to shine the Lightstone and scan for the gear.

As Ruby looked around and in the distance noticed something shimmer. She swam towards it to find a submerged hut and that the shimmering object was a window. She swam towards it and peeked inside.

Behind the glass were Nokama and the Ga-Matoran. The Ga-Matoran looked cramped and uncomfortable and some were saddened by their recent circumstances. Nokama simply stared at her in surprise, though Ruby never saw this, before shaking her head and tapping on the glass. Ruby looked at Nokama and turned back in Takua's direction. Ruby turned to see a group of biomechanical fish coming after her. All wearing infected masks. Among them were a group of sharks, dolphins, and some other aggressive fish. Ruby vanished in a flurry of rose petals as she retreated to lure them away.

Takua meanwhile continued to search the surrounding reef below. Slowly inching towards Ruby and subsequently the Rahi. Ruby created a distraction and moved towards the oncoming Rahi and made a hard right via her semblance. She needed to buy Takua time and the Rahi absolutely could not get near Takua. The sea Rahi followed as sheer them away.

In so doing Takua continued to search as he held the Lightstone above his head. He passed the stone over one of the rocks and was briefly blinded. He turned toward the spot the glare occurred.

Ruby was now far enough away to keep Takua safe. She stopped and turned to face the Rahi, she wasn't sure how much use Crescent Rose would be but she had some ideas. Bringing out her weapon. It unfolded into a red and black scythe which Ruby slammed into the ground like an anchor and swinging it to upturn rocks, sand, and some dead coral. Ruby swam to the surface as the Rahi pursued her. Using her semblance to soar past the water's surface, Ruby aimed at the various Rahi and opened fire with her scythes built-in rifle. Several Rahi were knocked out and some lost their infected Kanohi. Ruby then took a breath before diving back in. She then spun rapidly. So rapidly, in fact, that the water around Ruby began to circulate in a circular motion and only got faster, and faster, and faster, until Ruby became the center of a whirlpool. The whirlpool sucked in the Rahi that were unable to escape Ruby's whirlpool. Eventually, Ruby stopped spinning and the whirlpool began to dissipate. By then, several infected Kanohi littered the sandy floor of the water. The various Rahi began to swim or drift away as a result.

Ruby looked at the various infected Kanohi around her. Some were starting to crack due to their rusted state. Others were already breaking apart while some just outright disintegrated into black and brown dust that vanished as quickly as it appeared. Ruby felt something familiar about this phenomenon. The infected masks behaved a lot like Grimm.

What is this Makuta? Ruby thought. The huntress pondered this as she swam upwards again to take a breath.

She then swam towards Takua. All the while unaware of the Tarakava staring at and tailing her from a distance.

Gali was frustrated. Lewa had gone on his own and Blake opted to go with him to keep him out of trouble while she went in a different direction in the jungle. Despite this, she felt the need to acquire some sort of map. She never went to her Koro and so never got to acquire it. So she made her choice; go to Ga-Koro, protect the village, and request the map. Hopefully, she would get to know the people of Ga-Koro during that time.

Gali felt that connections were important. All things in the sea were connected to each other. Thus, she would connect with her people. That was her way. The way of the water.

If only Lewa would listen. He may follow the air in his freedom but he must be united with the others so we can accomplish our task. Gali thought. The Toa of Water felt that all the elements were united and that the Toa were the manifestations of these elements. If that was the case, then like the elements they were forged in and wielded with incredible skill and power, they must stand united. Then she thought of Blake and her choice to follow Lewa and she felt hope. However, she also concerned the Toa. She sensed Blake's pure heart but also felt a tinge of remorse and sorrow. Where did this sorrow come from? Was it because of her ears under her bow? Was it something she said or did before she came here? Perhaps when they met again, Gali would ask.

It was then she heard the rustling of the bushes nearby. Gali pulled out her hooks and circled to face the bush.

"Whoever you are, I know you are there. Come out carefully and I will not harm you." Gali ordered. Her voice was as calm as a wave but firm as the rocks of the shore. The bush rustled again and out popped Macku's head as she stared at the Toa.

"Toa Gali, is that you?" Macku asked.

"I am she," Gali replied.

"Oh praise Mata Nui I've found you!" Macku cried in joy "Please, you must help me! Ga-Koro has been attacked by Rahi and my people are trapped. Please, you must help!"

"Slow down, little one. Breathe my friend." Gali said. Macku took a deep breath and began to calm down. She repeated this a few more times before she finally relaxed.

"There, better?" Gali asked. Macku nodded in response.

"Now then, tell me what happened."

"My village, Ga-Koro has been attacked. I was the only one who escaped I, I had to find help to rescue them. I tried to look for one of the canisters that fell from the sky a while ago in hopes of finding you. But by the time I found what I believe was your canister you had already awoken. I don't blame you for your quest is vital but if you can please help me. I have already found rescuers to help Nokama and my fellow Matoran. They were passing by the canister when they offered to help but the Rahi may be nearby and I fear they may overwhelm them. Please, you must help them." Macku pleaded. Gali was stunned. This one Matoran led a one-team search to find her and when offered help by others she sent them to rescue them in the face of danger they may not be prepared for. She was amazed at their courage and concerned that they may be gone. Regardless, she knew she had to help. It was her Koro, the village she was sworn to protect in an era she could not recall. There was also the help Macku sent. If there was the slightest chance the Rahi were there and the rescuers were still alive… Gali looked at Macku.

"Don't worry, I will help you. As the Toa of Water, I will save Ga-Koro. But we must hurry, if what you say is true, then there is no time to waste." Gali answered. Gali lowered herself to Macku leaning her left shoulder forward.

"Hop on my back, you will need to guide me to Ga-Koro," Gali said. Macku smiled eagerly and jumped on the Toa's back.

"Thank you, thank you so much, Toa! Ga-Koro is further north from here. Just head northwest out of the jungle." Macku said. Gali ran towards Ga-Koro and followed Macku's guidance.

Ruby and Takua were drying themselves off as they just emerged from the pool they dived in earlier. Ruby looked at her weapon.

"Looks like my baby's waterlogged for now. Until I get it fixed, it'll be stuck this way for a while." Ruby said.

"Your baby?" Taku said, confused. Ruby raised her weapon and nodded.

"Yeah, I built her myself." Ruby said. Takua looked at Ruby with a confused expression.

"Oookay. So, is that going to be a problem?" Takua asked. Ruby shook her head.

"No, not a problem, just annoying. I don't usually wield Crescent Rose in the water so I can't fire any rounds until I can drain and clean it." Ruby answered. She ringed out her cloak.

"You got the gear?" Ruby asked. Takua pulled it out of his backpack.

"You bet," Takua said. "Let's go help those Matoran." Ruby nodded with a smile. The duo left the hut and crossed the bridge and arrived at the pump. Takua gave Ruby the gear who inserted it into the pump and pushed the button. This time, all three gears sprang into action as the two sacks on top inflated and deflated in rhythm with each other. All across the village, the lily pads began to rise slightly and the huts were raised a little more and one hut emerged from the sea. The door opened as Nokama led the Ga-Matoran out of the hut. The villagers with grateful looks in their eyes. However, their happiness was short-lived as the water behind Ruby and Takua churned. Takua saw this and jumped away.

"Ruby, get back!" Takua shouted. The red-cloaked huntress turned and saw something rise up.

Ruby and Takua watched with the villagers as the Tarakava rose from the depths. The Rahi let out a roar and thrusts a fist forward to strike Nokama. Ruby rushed forward with her scythe at the ready and blocked the punch with Crescent Rose causing her to step back slightly from the attack. As she prepared to defend Takua and the people of Ga-Koro, she looked at the Tarakava before her and couldn't help but exclaim her next remark.

"THIS LOOKS NOTHING LIKE A LIZARD! HOW DOES THIS LOOK LIKE A LIZARD!?"

A/N: Fortunately, I didn't need to raise the rating at the moment. I hope the description of the ruined Ga-Koro wasn't too gruesome. I'm surprised I got this in the time that I did. However, don't expect this to happen often. I also have an idea for another story I might work on in the future. It's another crossover but it's with two different, well-known anime I enjoy. Still, I hope this was a fun read. Please leave a review and tell me what you think. Thank you all for reading.

God bless you and live life to the fullest.
