I know it's been a while. I hope you enjoy this new chapter. I know there's a few spelling and grammar mistakes in there as I wrote this chapter out pretty quickly.

The new school year

The now 12 year old girl stared into the mirror as she tied her school tie. Her hair was tied back into a braided low pony-tail and she appeared to have a healthy glow around her. The scars that had once littered her face, now faded into faint white lines. She stared into her green and gold speckled eyes and splashed water on her face before wiping herself with a towel. Today was the day. She would start her new life surrounded by peers instead of elders.

Hermione walked out of her room at Hogwarts and saw her parents standing in the kitchen quietly chatting to one another.

"Good morning Maither, Papa" Hermione smiled towards her parents as she walked towards the kitchen table and sitting down, already finding a cup of tea and toast ready for her, "morning dear, excited for today?"

She smiled toothily, "I can't wait. I'm really looking forward to taking the train in, oh, and going on the boats!"

Minerva's face dropped slightly as she turned and glared towards her husband, "we can't take away all experiences from her Min" Albus muttered before he moved to his daughter and kissed her forehead, "have a great day, dear. Your mother's going to take you to the train station at nine. I believe young Ron Weasley will be there with his family"

Minerva huffed before she turned to her daughter who was slowly chewing on her toast.

"You don't want me to go on the train? Papa said it was safe!" Hermione complained. Her parents were extremely protective of her. Over-protective really. She couldn't remember the last time she had been actually outside Hogwarts grounds, let alone her parents home in the Highlands. No trips overseas when her parents go abroad and leave her with either her godfather, grandmother or godmother.

Hermione simply sighed and placed her toast down, "Every first year gets to do it. It's not fair" Minerva rubbed her tired eyes. Hermione had definitely grown into her own over the years. She was curious, smart, fearless and stubborn, to say the least. And if anyone had ever wondered if Hermione was actually Minerva's; they only had to spend 5 minutes with the girl before they realised how similar both her's and Minerva's personalities were.

Especially since Albus had removed Hermione's memories. A part from a few night terrors from time to time, the young witch had been blossoming into a young and studious woman. Where had the years gone? Minerva thought as she stared at her daughter's pouting lips.

"I will be escorting you to the train station," The older witch informed her, much to the girl's delight.

"I'll need my wand as well!" Hermione smiled cheekily towards her mother who only rolled her eyes. "It will remain locked away until the first day of your classes"

"But how am I supposed to practice-"

"Exactly! The first second you got your hand on your wand you almost blew a hole through Mr Ollivanders store"

"It was an accident!"

"It's only an accident if it was an unintentional mishap. Not trigger happy" Hermione sighed as she sipped her tea. It was true, she remembered the day she had gotten her wand. She was so excited and somewhat nervous about getting one. Her father, from time to time, had let her play with his wand, teaching her simple patterns to turn on and off lights, make items levitate and so on.

But this was going to be hers. Finally, hers.

Mr Ollivander smiled gently as he handed her one of the wands.

"If I had to guess, I believe a dragon heart string core. Just like your mothers" Mr Olivander opened the box and presented the wand to her. "10 3/4 long vine wood"

Hermione lifted it from the box and rolled it in her fingers. It felt very light and flowing. Like an extension of her arm. "Well, give it a whirl" Albus placed a gentle hand on her shoulder to nudge her.

Hermione arched her eyebrow before she flicked and swished the piece of wood levitating one of the books on Mr Olivander's desk. It immediately pelted towards them which Minerva flicked her wand to block the onslaught. He chuckled before he turned to her parents. "A true natural of the arts"

Hermione smiled before she lifted her arm up, wondering if she could do some more tricks with her own. In an instant, a red light flared at the tip of the wand. Her parents instantly grabbed her arm and pulled the wand out of her hand. "Ah, perhaps we'll try some more spells at home dear" Albus smiled gently before he placed it back in the box. And true to his word, he did.

"We're going to be late! Eat up" Hermione shook her head, coming out of her thoughts from her mother voice. She immediately downed the rest of her tea before racing out of the door.

The train station was very busy for the time of day. Minerva, usually punctual and early, felt late compared to the rushing crowd all eager to throw their children onto the train. She passed some familiar faces, some smiled, other's stared at the small child she had with her, who walked with the same posture, of a woman who could easily take your life. The young girl had a backpack slewn around her shoulders, filled with books, homework and snacks the house-elves had prepared.

"Alright, you've got your train ticket and everything you need"

"Yes maither," Hermione sighed, her mother had asked her at least 10 times before they left if she had everything. She tried to empathise that it must've been hard for her mother to let her go and explore the outside world. Even if it was just a car ride.

"Aye, kitten" Minerva held her daughter's chin. "Do not be late for supper" Hermione could only nod before she spotted ginger hair out of the corner of her eyes. "Mrs Weasley" Hermione pelted passed her mother.

"Hermione!" She immediately turned to see the young girl sprint passed Lucius Malfoy who was staring directly at the young girl. He turned back towards Minerva and smiled a sweet, dangerous smile. Narcissa had kept both her son's and Minerva's daughter's play-dates quite from the devious man. Narcissa's silly attempt to find a suitor for her son at a young age, as most pureblood's did, and Hermione in desperate need of socialisation.

"Professor McGonagall" He walked up to her, interrupting her from trying hopelessly to grab her daughter. "Mr Malfoy" She clasped her hands together in front of her. "Is there something I may help you with?"

"Your child?"

"Currently boarding and on her way to Hogwarts" She replied sternly. He smiled gently, "I can't tell whether she's more of a mini version of yourself or your husband with the way she struts around" McGonagall glared at him. Narcissa and Severus avoided speaking about Draco's and Hermione's secret play-dates, merely for the fact that they didn't believe it be an agreeable thing for Lucius.

"I can assure you my daughter does not strut as much as your son does" McGonagall flicked her nose up and moved passed him to watch the train slowly take off. She noticed Hermione sitting in a carriage, reading her book and ignoring a young boy with dark hair who sat opposite her.

Minerva sighed. Her daughter was just like her.

The sorting ceremony was something to be admired. Albus and Severus were both patient with the return of both women.

On que, the doors swung open and everyone watched as the first years came through. Under the table, Severus and Hooch began to take bets with one another on who would be the in the houses.

Surely, one by one Minerva began to call out there names until she reached her daughters. She gently sighed as she stared at the scribble: Hermione Elieen Dumbledore-McGonagall.

"Hermione Prince" A few people had quietened down after hearing the young girl's name called out. She gulped as she noticed the large amount of people staring at her and slowly made her way up to the chair. Her father shot her a warm smile, his eyes twinkling as he subconsciously edged her on. She was nervous to say the least. But Why? Both her parents were Gryffindor's and surely she would be. She sat down on the chair and felt the hat being placed over her head.

Dear, dear, dear what do we have here...The headmasters and deputy headmistresses daughter heir...

I want to be in Gryffindor...Please put me there.

My dear McGonagall, you have the strong headedness and will of a lion. Yet the intellect of a Ravenclaw but not a creative.

Hermione's face dropped, annoyed at the insult. She heard the hat laugh.

You would truley be best suited to Slytherin. You're cunning and ambitious, willing to go above and beyond for what you believe in.

Gryffindore please.

And what about poor Hufflepuff? You are a loyal one are you not?...No, you lack the patience and friendliness to wear the golden stripes.

Hermione groaned. Please don't put me in Slytherin.

Minerva was beginning to grow concerned. Why was the hat taking so long? Did he know it know Hermione's history. They hadn't told a soul. After Hermione had been obliviated they began to try again. She was to be there flesh and blood. They had made the faculty who were aware of Hermione's adoption promise to treat Hermione as though she were their own...Born to both Albus and Minerva and hopefully saving the trouble that the girl may go looking for her blood-related family. They had changed Hermione's eye colour, albeit keeping the golden specks which Minerva admired in the girl's eyes. They darkened Hermione's hair to be an auburn colour and had tried hopelessly to straighten Hermione's hair.

By the time the girl had woken up, sitting in a hospital bed, they had told her a story. One where she believed that she had been kidnapped and beaten by Death-Eaters. Hermione believed them more and more as time went on. She still had nightmares from time to time of being locked in a cage and tormented. She still had to take potions every few hours for her injuries and worst of all, she was not allowed to leave the castle or their homestead under any circumstances. It kept the girl safe from harm and her out of trouble.

"Better be Gryffindor!" Minerva breathed a sigh of relief and ripped the hat off the girl's head before it changed it's mind.

Hermione moved over to the Gryffindor table, greeted by the crowd of older students patting her on the back and warmly inviting her in.

"Harry Potter"

Hermione sighed as she rubbed her eyes, the day had been long and she was looking forward to getting some rest. She had never seen the Gryffindor tower before but was looking forward to finally entering. Her mother never allowed her in, even when she was little. She didn't want to ruin the surprise and wanted her to have a similar experience to herself. It was only until she noticed that when she entered an owl was sitting by an empty bed for her in the girl's room. Hermione picked the small note up and opened it.

Hermione,

Your father and I have decided that it would be best for you to remain in your quarters for this year.

Love,

Maither and Papa

Hermione sighed, looking across to the Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil, who were currently giggling to one another. "Where is your stuff Herm..Herminni?"

"Hermione," She sighed, knowing her name was going to be difficult for a few people. "And I won't be staying here for the term" She shrugged and turned on her heels. Probably for the best.

She wasn't looking forward to having to share one bathroom and shower with two of other girls. In fact, she wasn't used to sharing anything. Being an only child would do that to you. Hermione slowly walked to her folks quarters, talking to the ghosts and portraits on the way. As she entered her quarters, she found both her parent's and grandmother sitting on the couch with a cup of tea in their hands.

"Hermione!" Her grandmother smiled brightly as the small girl entered.

"seanmhair (grandmother)" Hermione wrapped her arms around her nanny, excitedly. "I didn't realise ye came" Hermione smiled happily. "Ay, dear. I couldn't miss your first day. How ye train ride, ah and the boats? Ye must be exhausted kitten" She rustled the girl's hair. "It was good granny"

"Did you make any friends?" Her parent's asked curiously. Hermione shifted nervously. "I shared a cabin with a boy called Neville and he said he lost his frog and I went looking for it and saw Ron and met a boy called Harry Potter"

"Maither, I don't understand how a baby survived the killing curse"

"A mother's love, kitten" She ran a hand through her child's hair.

Hermione hugged her mum. Minerva couldn't help but smile and hold her back. Minerva was a private woman. Extremely private, however she lived for the days with her family. Minerva over the years loved to spend the evening with her daughter and them cuddled together on the settee, both reading their books.

"And I'm staying here for the year?"

"Yes dear," Albus smiled gently. Hermione could only nod and think of the list of reasons why her parent's would keep her here confined to their quarters. She knew being the daughter of the two head's would exclude her from a few social functions. Children over the years, being worried she may rat them out to her parents.

"Ooch, please don't be upset dear. It is something that we should 'ave discussed earlier"

"I understand. I didn't want anyone to know about the night terrors and me being on potions anyway" Minerva tucked a loose strand behind her daughter's ear.

"It won't be forever"

She nodded, knowing it was a clear lie. She wondered over the years if she would be stuck at Hogwarts forever, unable to live a normal life without her parents. Without the potions. She always wanted to travel. She would look through geography books and wonder about different cultures.

"Okay"

"...And..." Her mother smiled down at her. "We figured since all the other students have their's well..." Her grandmother pulled a wooden box from behind her back. Hermione gasped as the case was popped open by it's latches. "Enjoy my dear but, be careful. You don't want to pop someone's eye out" Hermione immediately took the wand from the case and swished it. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She smiled gleefully at her family. "Now be careful"

"Can I study some spells. Please"

"Albus," Minerva smiled and nodded to his wife who gently took her wand hand in his. "Only one tonight my dear...Nox" He demonstrated the wand movement.

"Nox" Hermione smirked as the light instantly flicked off.

Hermione sighed as she stared at the breakfast plate in front of her. Scrambled eggs and toast. She felt sick to her stomach for some reason. Her parents had woken her up early this morning. A hazy rush to get everything sorted. Her mother had informed her that there was a teacher's meeting this morning, then the heads would be giving out their schedules for the morning. As her parents rushed to leave, Hermione decided to have breakfast in the Great Hall instead and as it turned out, no one wanted to speak to her. Well, everyone except Percy.

She groaned and continued to listen to his prattlings about politics and something that involved her father.

"There you are!" She looked up to see Ron Weasley plunking down in front of her. "Been looking all over for you" He gasped exhausted as another boy with dark shaggy hair sat down next to the red head.

"Hi Harry" She smiled politely at the boy she had briefly met on the train. Although, there conversation wasn't long, she had continued to look for Neville's frog after quickly introducing herself and seeing Ron do a useless magic trick.

"I'm staying in my parent's quarter's for the time being"

Ron's face flushed before he looked down at the table and started grabbing food. "Your parents?" Harry asked surprised that someone's kids parent's lived and worked at Hogwarts. "The Headmaster and Head of Gryffindor"

"Ron!" Hermione growled at him.

"Wha-? He was gonna find out eventually...and where the bloody hell did Prince come from?"

"That's my decision" She sat back and picked up the paper. "And Prince is a decent last name?" She began to read the paper, ignoring the boy's question. "Most people know your the McGonagalls and Dumbledores kid. Why bother changing it"

"My parents thought it best"

"Your parents are the professors" Harry asked. "Ay, Professors Dumbledore and McGonagall are my parents. I was trying to keep it a secret, Ron, considering everyone will think I'm given special privilege's" She rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, like your own room...Ow!" She hit Ron with the newspaper. "If anything, I'm under more scrutiny and harsher punishment"

"With your mum as McGonagall, you're not gonna survive the year" Ron scoffed before looking up at head of Slytherin burst in through the doors and begin handing out schedules to the first years "I'd at least like to try and get through the day" She muttered, flicking through the pages.

"Ronald Weasley" She looked up to hear her mother's voice. Hermione couldn't help but smile at the woman who handed out the schedules. "Hermione," She whispered before passing her her schedule. "Thank you Maith- Professor"

"Be good today" Minerva smiled down at her before continuing on.

"Great we have bloody double potions to start" Ron groaned staring at the Head of Slytherin. "What's wrong with potions?" Harry asked curiously.

"Nothing-"

"Snape-"

Hermione glared at Ron, who looked away from the girl and placed his hand near his mouth as cover from Hermione.

"He's a git"

"Ron!"

"And Hermione's bleeding godfather"

"RON!"

"He's gonna find out!...and he's a bloody bastard. My brother's warned me about him. He hates Gryffindor's and favours his own house"

"He does not" Hermione rolled her eyes.

"Does so! You wait Harry, you'll see. Hermione just puts teachers up on a pedastool"

"That's it! I'm leaving. See you both at Potions" She grabbed her bag.

"Aw, Mione" Ron stood up before noticing her plate. "You haven't even eaten anything" He grabbed her plate and and sat back down before eating it.

"She's a bloody nightmare, she is" He told Harry as he watched the Head of houses daughter leave through the large doors. Harry shifted nervously.

"Do you know where potions is?" Harry asked, concerned about getting lost around the castle.

"Ah, bugger! Hermione!" Ron stood up and began racing for the girl.

The trio made their way down to potions and much to Hermione's excitement, Draco was there. Unfortunately, he was chatting to Goyle. "Draco," She smiled and tapped his shoulder. He turned round and gave her a nervous smile. "Hermione...What are you doing?"

He whispered, noticing Goyle and Pansy Parkinson staring at him, likely wondering why he was speaking to a Gryffindor. "Talking to you? We're not due in for another few minutes. I was hoping to catch up"

"Hermione why the hell are you talking to Malfoy" She turned around to see Ron glaring at her. She glared back equally as angry. "Because he's my friend, Ronald"

"Friend?" Pansy spat. "He's not your friend, you half-blood" Hermione rolled her eyes. "Yes, he is!"

"Hermione...we'll talk later" Draco whispered to her before moving into the classroom. Hermione's cheeks flustered. Pansy stuck her tongue up at her as she entered the classroom.

"Can't believe your friends with Malfoy" Ron muttered to her as he followed suit.

Hermione sighed as she entered the classroom. She noticed Ron suddenly avoiding eye contact with her. She placed her books down on the table before hearing an alarm go off. Oh no! She quickly checked her watch. She groaned, she had forgotten to take her potions. She grabbed her satchel before rustling through her bag, trying to find the right ones. Next to her, Neville and Harry came to sit down and quietly began to open their books.

Shit!

Hermione was about to stand up and leave before she heard the doors bang open and her godfather come stalking in. "Sit down now" He growled at the class. She gulped. I'll just leave when he finishes talking.

"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science of the potion making. However, for those of you who possess the pre-disposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses; I can tell you how to brew glory, bottle fame, and even put a stopper in death. Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel comfortable enough to not pay attention...Mr. Potter, our—new—celebrity"

"Tell me Potter, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

"I don't know, sir," said Harry. Snape sneered at Harry.

"Tut, tut-fame clearly isn't everything"

Hermione raised her hand, however her godfather ignored her.

"Let's try again. Potter, where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?"

"I don't know, sir."

"Thought you would've open a book before coming, eh, Potter?"

Hermione slowly brought her hand down and re-checked her watch. How long was this going to go on for?

"What is the difference, Potter, between monkshood and wolfsbane?"

"I don't know," said Harry quietly before looking across at his new friend "I think Hermione does, though, why don't you try her?"

Hermione tried again to get up only for Snape to snap at her.

"Sit Down"

Hermione sighed, "Please Sir. Asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of Living Death. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons. As for monkshood and wolfsbane, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name of aconite"

Severus' scoul turned into a sneer, "Did I ask for your opinion of the matter, Miss Prince?"

"No Sir but-"

"Or do you prefer being a know-it-all in front of others" Hermione glared at him.

"How dare-"

"Do not back-chat me girl. 10 points off Gryffindor. Willing to push it any further" He placed his hands on her desk and leaned over. She stared up into his eyes, begging him silently to let her go.

"I need to leave" She told him sternly, sweat slowly beginning to form on her forehead.

"Wait outside my class" She grabbed her stuff and left.

"As for the rest of you's" He flicked his wand at the black boards and writing began to appear. "Well? Why aren't you all copying that down?"

Hermione hurriedly reached into her bag before grabbing her precious potions and downing them as quickly as possible. She couldn't help but scold herself. Of course missing breakfast had sent her stomach into a spasm and her routine out of synch. Her hand didn't stop shaking as she polished the last potion she had supposed to take for that morning before she heard the door slam.

"What do you think you are doing?" Severus stalked over to her.

"I forgot to take them"

"You take them every morning. How could you of simply forgotten"

"Sim-ple, I was distracted by the overwhelming morning. I didn't eat breakfast and-"

"Enough!" He placed his hand in front, silencing her before flicking a note into the air. The paper aeroplane took off into the air and down the hall. "I have sent a note to your mother. You are to return to your rooms until your next class"

"I don't want to miss potions"

"Your class will be writing rules for the next two days. You are not missing anything and we need to discuss about common decencies in class"

"Common decencies? You practically insulted me in front of everyone" She scouled at him.

"You interrupted my teachings. Do not speak unless I address you"

"That's not fair. You asked a question; I only answered it"

"I asked Potter the question. Not you"

"You were harassing him, he didn't know the answer, he's from a muggle world and I needed to leave"

"How dare you question my teaching methods! It is not something I need to explain to a child and you may not realise this, considering your private tuition but the world does not involve around you...I don't want to see your hand wave in the air unless you have a question. Do I make myself clear Hermione?"

She glared at the ground. "Do I make myself clear?" He grabbed her chin. "Yes, Sir" She sneered.

"Drop the attitude. Report back to your room. Your mother will be joining you shortly"

He stalked back into the room. Hermione groaned, rubbing her temples before grabbing her bag and slowly making her way back to her folks quarters.

Minerva was rubbing her tired eyes as she finished with the first year Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws for the day. She was looking forward to having an early night tonight and began to slowly pack her papers before she noticed a piece of paper float towards her desk. She groaned, what now?

She quickly read the note, her eyes widening before she moved towards the floo.

In no time, she was in her quarter's staring at the girl who was quietly reading her potions textbook at the dining table. Minerva sighed.

"What happened?"

"Nothing-"

"Hermione"

"Sev was being mean"

"Hermione,"

"He was bullying Harry and I just answered the insane amount of potion questions Severus thought Harry knew"

Minerva rolled her eyes, knowing how Snape got sometimes. "Your godfather informed me you did not take your potions either"

"I forgot"

"You do not forget Hermione!" Minerva was angry with her, making the little girl back off. "I'm sorry, I didn't realise"

"You cannot forget. The last time you did not take them; you ended up in a coma for almost a week. Your father and I were scared we'd lose you"

"I won't do it again"

"Not merely enough...and do not back-chat a teacher in class, we taught you better"

Hermione looked away from her mother and crossed her arms. "I didn't"

"It is Severus' class. You need to respect his rules whilst you are there. Understand?"

"Yes" Hermione said meekly. "Good. I do not want to be having the conversation with ye again, Kitten"

Hermione nodded, before Minerva finally relaxed her shoulders. "Now, I will see you after lunch for transfigurations. Do try and have fun today" She pulled Hermione into a hug. Hermione hesitated but wrapped her arms warmly around her mother.

"Yes Maither"

"Good! and behave. You are not even though the morning"

Hermione groaned.

Hermione slowly made her way to transfigurations and got there a little earlier then the rest of her peers to help her mother prepare for their class. She shifted the textbooks on her arm and placed one on each desk as he mother flicked her wand at the board and edited the writing.

It was quiet between the two of them who weren't particularly interested in chatting but enjoyed one another's company.

Once Hermione heard other children at the door, she sat back down at the front of the class and opened her book to start reading.

Other children walked by, ignoring Hermione and she ignored them. It didn't go unnoticed by Minerva and already by some of the other professors.

Hermione, on the other hand had seen a lot of people staring at her. Being the daughter of two of the greatest living wizards alive just made people give you a second glance. And most older children had seen Hermione around the corridors of the school, even before she was a student. Add to being a know-it-all didn't make it any better.

Her mother began the class, showing demonstrations on what transfigurations meant. She transformed her desk into a pig and back again and finally a transformation into her Animagus.

She sighed, turning round to the back of class hearing the doors swing open.

And to add to her pain, Ron Weasley was completely ignoring her. She rolled her eyes as both Harry and Ron entered through the doors, now late for class. Seriously!

"Whew, amazing, can you imagine the look on old McGonagall's face if we were late?" Ron gasped for breathe. Hermione gritted her teeth as she watched her mother transfigure into her human form. Both boys stared awstruck at the ability.

"That was bloody brilliant"

"Thank you for that assessment, Mr. Weasley. Maybe if I were to transfigure Mr. Potter and yourself into a pocket watch, maybe one of you would be on time"

"We got lost" Harry tried the excuse.

"Then perhaps a map? I trust you don't need one to find your seats" The two boys immediately rushed to their seats as her mother began to start.

"Our first lesson for today will be to change a matchbox into a needle" Professor McGonagall began to demonstrate the wand movements and the latin name. She began to let the children go off, practicing by themselves. Minerva must have corrected every child's wand waving until she got to her daughter, once again reading a book. "Done Miss Prince"

Hermione smiled up at her mother and pulled the needle up from the table to show up. Minerva was astounded. "Very well done indeed. 5 points to Gryffindor" Minerva checked her watch. They had barely been working on the spell for five minutes. How did the girl even manage it?

"Was that on the first try?"

Hermione nodded before looking down at the needle and flicking her wand to change it back. "How did you?"

"Untransfigurations on page 124" Hermione shrugged before continuing back to her readings. Minerva sighed. Obviously the class was going to be too easy for the girl. And it wasn't only that class.

Over the next few days, the professors began talking about the young student. Flitwick informed the rest of the teaching staff that she was a protégé. She had gotten everything straight away with magic without even trying. That surprised Minerva and when she went to speak to Albus about it. He simply shrugged his shoulders. "She's our daughter"

"Not by blood, mind you Albus"

"Indeed, however, she does possess magical blood, allowing her to simply transform into different types of beasts. As she is a witch and possesses a strong enough magical core to change into and out of human form then I would not be surprised about her ability to easily handle magic.

Minerva sighed, she was proud of her daughter. Really proud. However, she feared Hermione would get bored in class.

She and Albus moved to the Great Hall for dinner and once again noticed their child's strange display. "She's sitting alone again Minerva" She heard Severus mumble as she passed him at the head table. She looked worriedly over to the Gryffindor table to find her daughter sitting alone at the end, caught up reading a newspaper.

"Why isn't Mr Weasley sitting with her?" She asked curiously. Snape snorted, "he got his panties in a twist when the little chit was talking to Draco. Who equally ignored her, I might add"

Minerva rolled her eyes, "this house rivalry has to stop"

"Perhaps the anti-social chit enjoys being left alone"

"She's 12 Severus. She should be enjoying her time at school"

"Studying. She's enjoying it by studying" Severus added.

"Give her time, Min. It's only the first week. She'll learn to settle and find a group. It's a big world out there" Albus smiled at her. Minerva couldn't help but look on at the rest of the children chatting lively, and there was her daughter, alone.
