Chimera was dreading the moment they would have to see Goodra. They knew they would have to own up to him at some part, even if they wished they wouldn't, it's just that suspense is always the factor which makes things worse. They did have one saving grace though to distract them from their thoughts. The fact that their leg is broken.

Well not exactly. Strangely after waking up moments before getting caught by the Eevee and Zoroark (named Nathan and Eevee) they weren't able to move their broken leg for a bit, but now it was able to move and it only hurt slightly a lot! It was like it healed in a matter of minutes, by a small bit, but it's still an improvement!

Apart from the large discomfort of having to move their leg a bit, they felt incredibly… neutral. It was hard to tell. They felt a bit more energized from sleeping for they assume ten hours? But they felt weird and gross. Mostly because of the weird mish-mash body they have and also because all their fur is matted together.

There's also that creeping reminder of the fact that they were basically just arrested a moment ago. The people who arrested them are nice, well the Zoroark is nice, the Eevee was just kind of… not exactly mean but just not caring, so indifferent. It's just that there was going to be a punishment for hurting Goodra along with having to see Goodra which is kind of one in itself. There always is one. They didn't really like the thought.

Episode One Part Five

Threading the Needle

It had been fifteen minutes since they had left the spot near the waterfall and started walking back to… where were they walking? All the two said about where they were going was that they were all meeting Goodra.

"Umm, where are we going?" Chimera asked.

"You don't know- oh yeah kind of forgot you know nothing," Eevee answered.

You didn't really need to say it that way but it's okay I guess.

Eevee kept going on, "we're heading towards Serene Village. It's the town right below Revelation Mountain next to a lake. You probably should've seen it while you came this way since this path goes directly to it."

"Oh," I did, didn't I?

Silence permeated throughout their walk. With only the sound of a step upon the ground, the crinkle of a leaf, or the occasional snap of a branch on the road. To Chimera it was sort of nice and also entirely consuming. They noticed all of the small details, like the ways the Sun shone through the leaves, or the shapes and patterns on the trees. But they were still caught up in their thoughts. Everything was too hard to ignore.

Chimera just thought, dreading the moment for when they would have to say something to Goodra, and for a long while they did just that, until they soon entered a gate that led into an opening that had a hill with a tree that overlooked the lake. On the opposite side of the opening led to a larger one that had a few houses they could barely see.

"Look, we're here!" Adrian pointed out.

"Wow! Really? I couldn't tell!" Nathan responded sarcastically.

"For the sake of not wanting to have to deal with you again I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear that."

The group passed by the hill and entered a small area. On the right side of Chimera was the bright blue water from the lake and the left of them was a path that led upwards into a spot where houses were on different levels of the ground each going higher and higher like levels on a cake. Ahead of them was the square that they were all about to enter if Eevee didn't do a 180 degree turn to face them.

"Why did you stop?" Zoroark asked.

"Because we gotta do something about you." Eevee pointed at Chimera with his right paw.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Chimera tilted their head to the side.

"Well… jeez how do I put it in a bit of a nicer way. You look scary and we probably shouldn't put you in a place where a whole bunch of people will see you."

"O-oh, right. What then? Since I need to see G-Goodra, correct?"

"Here, you could sit at the lake while we go get Goodra. It wouldn't take too long since he's just waiting in the Square."

"Yeah, we'll be back in a very short bit." Adrian agreed as they both turned and entered the square leaving Chimera standing in the middle of the area.

Why did they just leave me? I could've just ran away if I didn't feel bad about this whole thing. Chimera thought puzzled at the fact that they were being stupid.

Might as well sit down. Chimera approached the clear water and sat like a dog. Their leg still hurt from moving so it was for the better. After acknowledging the pain in the leg again they felt another thing bothering them. They were absolutely famished. And also thirsty.

When was the last time I ate? I should go over to them now and ask for an apple, but it would be… a bit of trouble wouldn't it? I could just wait. Wanting to take another one of their essential needs they tried their best at drinking water again. By dunking their head into the lake.

As they kept their head in the water they opened their eyes. They knew it was not that good to do but it would be interesting. From their eyes they only saw the strands of their long silver hair drifting downwards into the water, and the water itself.

The lake was quite deep and this part wasn't the kind where if you walked into it and kept on going forward it would slowly swallow you up. It was like a dark cerulean abyss with the only light being from the golden rays of the Sun piercing the darkness of the water. They soon took a gulp out of the water and jerked their head up.

Chimera coughed out a bit of water, "I should really find a better way to do this…"

"Yeah you should," a feminine voice said beside them.

"Oh hello there." Chimera Turned their wet head over to see a Salazzle laying on her side with her hand on her head wearing a large navy linen jacket with a puffy cotton inside.

"Is that seriously how you're going to react!? I thought you were going to freak out or something! I tried really hard to sneak up behind you," The Salazzle scolded.

"Oh, well… I don't really know what to do about that now. Should I just scream or something? I could if you want."

"That wouldn't be as fun, it would just seem fake or weird. Speaking of weird-"

It's going to be about how I look, isn't it. Chimera grimaced scrunching up their face to prepare for another blow to their already low ego.

Salazzle saw the face Chimera was making and tried to shift what she was saying. "Uhhhhh… nevermind! There is nothing strange or weird right now!" She looked away a bit embarrassed.

It's nice she tried not to seem rude. "Y-yeah it's good nothing strange is going on!" Chimera tried to go along with what she was saying but ended up still sounding like they were lying. They were.

"Yeah! The only thing going on right now is a good conversation between totally random strangers who have never met before!"

In some mystical power after she spoke they both had the same thought. We both suck at acting.

"Anyways," Salazzle swerved her head back at them trying to move the conversation. "Who are you?"

"Huh? Oh yeah I guess I need to do some introductions.. I'm, uh, I'm called Chimera!"

"Called? Chimera?" Salazzle made a strange face of confusion and disgust? They couldn't exactly describe it. It's the face someone makes when they do something stupid that you explicitly told them not to do. "That ain't a species, that's just an overall classification. Don't you have a name or something?"

"W-well no. I don't have a name or any idea of what I am. I don't have any memories, so for now I'm just going to be called Chimera."

"You don't have any memories? This makes things a bit harder but…" she whispered to herself. "You know what, screw it. The name's Jezebel."

"You're fine with being on a name to know basis already?! But we just met literally a minute ago!"

"I know, but I can tell that we are going to be great friends." Jezebel lifted herself up from the position with a strangely devious smile and put out her hand in order for Chimera to shake it.

"Huh? Oh, sorry. Um, let's not shake hands." Chimera suggested.

"Eh, fine. Do whatcha want. Now since we're friends let me ask a couple of questions," out of her pockets Jezebel was about to pull something out before a voice interrupted.

"Hey, it's you again!" Eevee yelled from behind the two with Zoroark and a very awkward Goodra.

"You again?" Chimera repeated with confusion.

"Oh, great."

"What are you doing with Chimera?!" Nathan interrogated.

"Nathan, they're having a conversation, you don't have to look hard." Zoroark scolded.

"Well yeah, but like why would she talk to them!"

"I don't know what you mean by that."

"Can we not have an argument?" Goodra interrupted with a very nervous smile.

"No first we need to talk about-"

"Just stop it, Nathan."

"But-"

"Okay, thank you!" Goodra came over to Chimera and squatted down to match their height.

Goodra had few things different from what Chimera barely noticed last night, the main thing that grabbed their attention were the brown moist bandages wrapped around the wrist of where Chimera accidentally slashed them. They were very wet and stained with a dark maroon-ish purple that was greatly different from the lavender body he had. It must've been stained by the blood and the goo excreted from his body. Which was kind of gross. But what overtook Chimera's disgust was the wave of guilt that crashed and rumbled through their body.

Before Chimera could apologize, Goodra said something first. "Why is your head wet? Water is dripping from your hair."

I- I didn't expect that.. Thought Chimera before an overflow of apologies flowed out of them.

Chimera thrust their head to the ground and covered their claws over their eyes that began to tear up. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! It's my fault! I-" They were soon cut off.

"Please stop." Goodra asked.

"Wha?"

"I said please stop. Oh, wait, that made me sound like a jerk. I- I meant you don't have to apologize. I'm not great with seeing people sad so this will help both me and you." Goodra comforted.

"But-"

"No buts. I don't need any of that. I just want to know if you're okay. You don't look so well you know that. And it doesn't have to do with your body but you gotta fix yourself up. I have a comb for your hair." Goodra pulled out a comb from a bag he had on his side.

"I'm sorry… you shouldn't be doing this."

"Why shouldn't I try to help you?"

"I- I hurt you and, and-"

"Is that the only reason? I've been hurt before, it's only a flesh wound. Look," Goodra pried a hand off of Chimeras' teared up eyes. "You just made a mistake. I know you didn't mean to hurt me so I don't get why you're apologizing so much. You're fine. You're okay. Do you need me to do anything? Are you hungry? Do you need a towel?"

Surprised by the show of kindness it took a bit before Chimera answered. "I-if it's okay, I'd like something to eat…"

"Of course!" Goodra pulled out a shiny red apple out of the bag and handed it over to Chimera. Chimera held it in both of their claws and slowly moved it over to their mouth where they quickly devoured it in almost an entire bite splattering apple juice over their claws.

"Wow, didn't know you were that hungry. I would've gotten more if I knew. Although if you are that hungry when was the last time you ate?"

"Oh, I-I don't know."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't have any memories that come from before last night at the mountain."

"You have amnesia? That's just like her… Nevermind I'm glad you're okay and didn't get trapped inside of Mystery Dungeon or something. For now though I think I would like to come along with you to Lively City."

"Why am I going to Lively City?"

"Because you gotta go to the guild since there's laws and stuff. You didn't know?"

"Yeahhhhhhh. We didn't explain that yet, but since we can't exactly let you go since you have nowhere to go and you technically committed a crime we have to bring you over to the guild." Zoroark explained.

"Yeah, I- I guess that makes sense…" I'm still getting in trouble aren't I.

"Are you two ready? Since if we go by around now we'll be able to make it there before dark." Nathan suggested.

Intruding upon their conversation a voice exclaimed something. "That's where you are!" The masculine perturbed voice came from a Garchomp. An interesting Garchomp with blood red claw's similar to a Scyther to the point where they were identical and a line of white spike protruding from the sides of the underbelly. Apart from those details it was just a very annoyed Garchomp with a simple brown bag around his chest.

"Oh hi Aaron." Jezebel welcomed.

"You made me spend a lot of time looking for you. You know we gotta make it to Lively City before dark even if we aren't going to be able to join the guild at the time."

"Oops."

"Is that seriously all you're going to say?"

"Not really, I just made a new friend," Jezebel took a glance over to Chimera. "All of these guys are heading over to Lively City, why don't we just, you know. Hop along."

"Woah, woah, woah! First of all, who the hell are you two!" Eevee pointed out. "You just randomly started staring at us and acting weird while we were talking to Goodra, and now you just randomly come out of nowhere saying you're friends with Chimera?"

"Nathan I get what you're saying but you're overreacting. But he is right, it is strange with the way Salazzle just pops up around us." Zoroark commented.

"Oh have I really been acting that way?" Jezebel put her finger on her cheek and blinked innocently. "I'm sorry if it's been disturbing yoouu… It's just that I really adore guild members. I'm sowwy that I seem strange."

Garchomp gave Jezebel a surprised look.

"Well sorry that my partner is acting like an idiot, but we would like to join you guys along for the hike to Lively City. We know that there will be two Mystery Dungeons along the way so if we come along it would be more efficient." Garchomp suggested.

"I mean it does sound good, but," Zoroark pulled Eevee to the side where they poorly hid their whispers. Most of the stuff they were saying was about whether they should bring them along, while they whispered Goodra tried helping Chimera a bit more.

"How do you feel? Like physically. You must've been hurt while you went through the two mystery Dungeons. Heh, I remember one time when I was a Goomy I got trapped in the Foreboding Forest for a bit."

"Thank you for asking, I feel fine kind of but my left back leg is broken I think."

"Your leg is broken?! You really should've said something about that sooner! I have a few bandages in my bag and we could get a stick to help tie it around it," Goodra took out a roll of bandages similar to the ones around his wrist.

"O-oh it's fine, It healed on its own already!"

"… what? You are confusing me."

"W-well not really. I broke because when I ran down the mountain I accidentally tripped, rolled down it a bit and landed on the leg weirdly. But since last night it's a bit better!"

"Yeah, no. I'm still going to help you out," Goodra turned his head and called out to Jezebel and Garchomp. "If I can trouble you two but can one of you please something flat and long? I need it to help my friend."

Jezebel responded first, "yeah sure I'll help out. Aaron go cut a piece of wood or something."

"Why did you say I'll help out if you're making me do it?!"

"Because I'm lazy, and you're the one who's supposed to help me."

"Fine then," Garchomp, apparently named Aaron, left and went to the hill area to get a piece of wood.

Coming back from their whispering session Eevee and Zoroark announced something, "you two can come along!" Adrian said. "Wait, where's Garchomp?"

"He's gone to get something for Chimera," Goodra told them.

"Seriously? We need to go now." Eevee demanded.

"Just wait for a bit shortstack, if we go now then Chimers will have a bit of a harder time walking, making things slower." Jezebel insulted.

"What did you just call me!" Eevee fumed turning red.

"Okay I'm back, got the stick," Garchomp said when he suddenly just appeared out of nowhere with a long flat stick.

"Thank you," Goodra took the stick out of his hands and began to tie it onto their leg with the bandages. After a bit of work and having to ask Chimera to make the leg straight they got it ready. "Boom! That's it. Is everyone prepared?"

Everyone nodded.

"Okay that's good. Here let me help you up," Goodra took Chimera's claw with his right hand trying to help them up. On instinct Chimera pulled the claw away trying not to scratch Goodra. "Oh?"

"I-it's okay. You don't need to do that," Chimera slowly got themself up wincing a bit.

Together they all left Serene Village passing through the square. There wasn't anyone in the square from what Chimera could tell, which was most likely for the better since they didn't want people yelling in surprise at them again.

They all left through the gate and onto another path. Before they all left Chimera took a glance back looking at the town they woke up by. It was small, quaint, and calm, as the name implies. They would've preferred to stay near the lake a bit longer but they didn't want to slow them down. So they followed everyone else with a question in their mind that had been there since the very beginning: who were they?

The old tattered faded blue leather journal was open, with a page of the better times describing one of the days they spent together with the date scratched out.

It's weird. I'm getting used to this life. Of course it's kind of troublesome with getting used to the body and all the new Pokémon stuff but it's been so much fun! I'm glad I met Syn. Everyday was so much better than the last helping out all the Pokémon and seeing their happy faces. Like today when we got this Cacneas scarf back from a Mystery Dungeon. Can't exactly remember the name of the dungeon though, since it's late of course. I really should be sleeping but it's kind of hard too! There is so much excitement brimming through me! I'm not sure whether or not I used that word right but it's fine. Not like anyone's going to read this. Unless you're some weird stalker bad guy and if you are then shoo! This is for my eyes only. Anyways, I'm going to sleep now. Good night me when I eventually read this In the future!
