"Giratina? Is t-that your name..?" Chimera asked with a cold sweat drop roll through their back. A draconic figure seemingly made out of shadows twice their height towered over them. It was hard to see through the mist and darkness but what they could see were the golden crescents decorating his neck, the incorporeal wings that seem to be made out of smoke, and the piercing blood red eyes staring down upon them from the gilded crown adorning his head.
"-nde-d," Giratina's voice was cold with an air of regality to it but also like static. It was like quick strikes of lightning in a dark night, loud and sudden.
A few moments ago Chimera was looking at the Sun lowering beneath the sea but where were they now? They turned their head left and right across the area to tell where they are but it was hard due to a thick mist surrounding both Giratina and Chimera. Chimera tried to feel what the floor was like but they couldn't feel it. It was as if they were standing on air.
"W-where are we..?" Chimera worriedly asked.
Giratina stood tall above them, "c—uld -sk the s-me of -ou."
"W-what?" Chimera was stunned.
"you a-e on- of his, y-o s-ould kn-w."
"I don't understand. What do you mean one of his?"
"- -hould kill -ou, but I w-nt t- k-ow. W-at did yo- do?!"
The single word kill made Chimeras blood run cold. Kill? Kill! B-but…
"I didn't do anything..! Why… why! I-I, explain! P-please…" Chimera pleaded.
"Wh- sh-uld I? Y-u are one -f his. I c-uld nev-r tru-t y-u. Es-ecia-ly aft-r wh-t you all did."
"W-what did I do? Who's him?"
"W-ere -ou drop-ed as an e-g? Your eyes. The gol-en ri-g aro-nd it."
"T-the golden ring?" Chimera has only seen their reflection once, only during last night when they fell asleep nearby the pond. They only took a small glance at themselves before falling asleep. They weren't sure if they just didn't look at their eyes in the pond or if they just forgot but, golden ring?
Befor they could think about it anymore or ask another question from the angered dragon they felt something touch their right back leg, the broken one. When they looked down they were surprised by two things: the fact that there were no bandages around their leg anymore and the more serious thing, a cold black hand through the mist holding down their ankle.
"What?"
Another hand came out right next to the other and took a hold of the same leg. More and more came out around their body and began to pull. Chimera tried to kick them or struggle their way out but more and more came.
"N-no! No, no! L-let go! Let me go!" Chimera screeched in fear.
Struggle as they might but they were two strong and the hands began to pull them through the once solid floor. Soon they were beginning to Chimera below the surface as if they were standing on a once frozen lake that shattered leaving them to fall below the surface.
"No! Please! Help me!"
The last thing they saw before they were pulled beneath the surface was a look of fear and surprise from Giratina.
And soon, they fell under.
All force from the hands disappeared and they were left slowly descending in a black void. It felt like they were at the deepest part of the sea, and just like being underwater, tried as they might, they couldn't breath.
No, no! Please! Someone help me!
They tried to let out a cry for help escape from them but the only thing that left were gilded glowing bubbles being the only form of light in the darkness. There was something that came in instead of escape though. A rush of water entered their throat. It soon filled the lungs. They couldn't do anything. They were drowning.
They tried struggling to swim higher and higher. To get above the water. But soon their energy left them and their limbs fell limp.
I-I… please…
Soon their consciousness left them and they closed their eyes.
Episode Two Part Two
Unshot Messenger
A ray of warmth touched their body and they could feel something. They were lying on their side atop something with a thin blanket over them. It was soft and comfortable. It was homey in some way. They kind of didn't want to get out of it.
They could also feel something else, a metal ring lightly kept around one of their legs.
They slowly lifted one of their eyes open and saw that a handcuff had been attached to a wooden frame of the bed they were lying in.
Huh..?
Still groggy they touched the handcuff which caused a small clink.
Where am I? Was that all just a dream? But it felt so real… before they could question what happened a noise took their attention.
"Hmm?" The voice came from in front of them. Chimera looked up a bit to see a slim charizard with some kind of wavy large yellow fabric piece of clothing covering most of his chest with a light blue piping holding a pen over a red diary seated on a wooden stool.
"Oh, you're finally awake. Good morning," the Charizard greeted. He put the diary into a bag on the floor and folded his hands with the pen in between them.
"W-where am I?" Chimera asked tiredly.
"You're currently in the doctor's place at the Lively Guild. Team Parallel along with a Garchomp and Salazzle. They said you broke your leg after rolling down the entirety of Revelation Mountain in Serene Village, is that right?" The Charizard pulled out another journal, it was a darker shade of red and one the front in black lettering was "Security log and stuff -Sodom Charizard" this time.
"I… did," A bit rude to just ask me that quickly…
"Oh, you still must be tired huh. Yeah I probably shouldn't have asked a patient something when they just woke up. Heh, sorry," the Charizard rubbed the back of his head. "You should probably stop talking for a bit if you're pretty tired."
Chimera gave him a slow nod.
"Very well. Sweet dreams."
That really isn't what I would describe my last one… After a few swift minutes of Chimera just lying down with their eyes closed comfortably they soon fell asleep.
Chimera didn't know how long they were asleep for, but it was probably one of the favorite things that happened to them for the past forty eight hours. Which isn't really saying a lot, but still, they really liked the bed. But soon they had to get up. And get up they did to a conversation happening right next to their bed.
"- it's really strange, it was too quick," a bored female voice spoke.
"From what Team Parallel said it broke the day before, they even verified it," the Charizard from earlier commented.
Chimera slowly lifted their head up gaining the attention of the two Pokémon speaking. It was the Charizard and a Primarina with a long braid against her back and an uninterested face holding a clipboard.
"Oh, you're awake now," the Primarina faced them instead of the Charizard at their side.
Chimera began to properly inspect the place they were in. On both sides of the wooden bed were curtains that acted as dividers from supposedly other patients. The backside of the bed was at a wall with a window at the top, and at the front was an opening from the curtains that led out into a bit more of an open area. The room smelt like bath salts, soap, and… rose water?
"Good morning, I am Primarina and for now I'll be your doctor," she explained. "Right now, I want to know how you're feeling."
"Oh, okay," Chimera tried to get the last cobwebs of sleep out of them. "I'm feeling… okay? I guess? I'm still confused and my body feels a bit sore," still asked me stuff too quickly. I still kind of feel tired.
"Makes sense. Team Parallel, the Zoroark and Eevee, told me about your situation. Is there anything else that you feel is weird with your body? Like any absences or something new."
"Huh? Well, uh," Chimera focused on themselves and what they felt. Their muscles felt sore, their body still felt unnatural to them, and there wasn't a lot that felt new. But what about a feeling that was absent? Their broken leg. It didn't sting anymore! "M-my leg, it doesn't hurt anymore!"
"Yeah, it doesn't. That's because it isn't broken anymore like what Goodra and Team Parallel said."
"It's not broken?" Chimera took a glance at their leg. Although it still had bandages around it, they couldn't feel any bruises or any pain when moving it.
"That's what I said. I have a question."
"Huh?" That's a quick turn.
"Team Parallel said you have amnesia, in what way? You didn't completely forget everything, I can tell since you can clearly speak well, so your brain is clearly somewhat fine, but how much do you remember?"
"Well, I-I guess I can kind of remember habits like not asking for names immediately, and basic knowledge and what things are. Although I don't really know what dungeons are and what the guild was before having to be told about it. Along with that I don't remember anything that's about my life…"
"Hmm…" Primarina wrote something on her clipboard. "Okay, next question," she has more? "From what you told me I assume you don't know what soul and aura is correct?"
Chimera gave her a nod.
"Okay, great more exposition. I'll just give you the 'as simple as I can for a really somewhat complex concept' 'kay? This might take a bit so write on Charizards diary for notes."
"It's a journal!"
"It's a diary, everyone knows that."
"N-no, they don't," Charizard pointed at Chimera, a bit embarrassed.
I mean…
Without waiting for any kind of answer she went on. "The Pokémon body works like this," from the roof a large sheet of paper fell with a drawing of a Pikachu on it and somehow Primarina pulled out a long thin stick from nowhere.
"Here is the body," using the stick she pointed at the Pikachu. "It is the physical part of you, which is obvious. Inside it though is something more important: the soul," a smaller piece of paper fell over the drawing of the Pikachu. On it was an outline of a pikachu with a blue inside. "The soul is your consciousness, your being, but it also is where your energy comes from. Your energy is for moves or actually just using your body. The energy is called aura."
She went on, "your soul can produce quite a bit of aura and the aura produced is what influences your type. You are apparently a normal type. Normal types are interesting, they can learn a large amount of moves due to how flexible their soul is. Speaking of moves," the piece of paper holding up the aura drawing was pulled up and a piece of paper saying 'thunderbolt', 'agility, and 'iron tail' replaced it.
"There are three types of them. Physical, special and status. All moves use up aura at different rates, at some point if you use them enough your soul subconsciously stops you from using them in order to not exhaust yourself. The three types of moves are labeled that way due to where the aura is put," she pointed at the tail of the Pikachu.
"Physical moves are called that due to the fact that your aura is concentrated in one part of your body, for example the tail in Iron tail. Aura can change your body in different ways, along with the track of changing your body: Status Moves," she pointed at the hands of the Pikachu now. "Status moves are concentrated in the soul, the body, or in actions."
"What?"
"With specific moves like taunt, when the Pokémon does the action that causes taunt it holds some aura in it causing the other Pokémon to be affected. Status moves can also be inflicted along with other moves like poison sting. And now Special moves," she pointed at the cheeks of the Pikachu.
"Special moves are concentrated through the soul, where the aura gets held in and released onto another object in the vicinity, like roots in the move Power Whip or the electric sacs for Pikachu in Thunderbolt. Does that all make sense? Did you take notes in Charizards diary?"
"You're still going on with that?" Charizard sighed.
"I don't think I can write. But anyways, I kind of have a small question. Why did you tell me this?"
"I did so that I could partially explain my reason for why you healed so fast. It heals because you create a large amount of aura."
"Huh?"
"Did you not listen? At the beginning I explained that the aura from the soul also powers your body."
"I mean Charizard didn't give me the Diary so I couldn't take notes."
"I thought I said this clearly enough! It's a journal!"
"Good one, anyways you make an immense amount of aura which means that certain workings of your body sped up or powered up hugely."
"That's… cool. I don't really understand but that's great, I guess."
"It's not just an I guess, it's a wow. Wait, that sounds stupid, never mind. I don't know how your body is getting so much aura but it is simply amazing. It's almost five times more than a normal Pokémon."
"Five times!" If Charizard had a drink he would've spat it out.
"It's so strange though, it's almost impossible though. It's like your soul is getting more power from something else, anyways I have a patient to check up on now. See ya."
What?! She just left so quickly!
Primarina promptly left while the papers lifted up into the ceiling. Where did those even come from?
"Thank you," Chimera waved as she went away.
Charizard whispered to them with his hand at the side of his mouth, "she doesn't. This is one of her only days where she only has one patient so she's kind of just spending her time in a bathtub in the other room."
"Oh, okay," there's a bathtub?
An awkward silence permeated through the room as none of them spoke to each other. Chimera would just fall asleep but they just kind of looked at their claws, fidgeting with them.
"So, uh," Charizard spoke up. "Ya good? Probably shouldn't have just bombarded you with stuff when you just woke up, eh?"
"N-no it was fine."
"Well that's good. Is there anything you want, I may be your guard but you don't seem like much of a threat."
"Guard?"
"Well, yeah," Charizard shrugged."I mean you are technically a criminal so we would have to detain you for a bit. Anyways, is there anything you want?"
"Uhhhhh," Chimera racked their head for a bit until they thought of something they might need. "Oh, can you get me a mirror please?"
"A mirror? Not like food or anything?"
Chimera's stomach rumbled, "oh, yes. Some food please."
"Cool I'll get you some," Charizard got off his stool and left. "I'll be back in a very small bit."
"Okay, thank you."
Now it was just Chimera and their thoughts. Yeah there were some other things I should've asked, like where Team Parallel or Goodra were. I guess I could ask that later.
"Kay I'm back!" Charizard greeted holding a tray with a bowl of warm porridge with crisp garlic bits and sliced up green onion along with a wooden cup of water, and a small mirror. "Here ya go," Charizard handed the tray to them.
"Thank you," Chimera struggled to pick up the spoon at the side of the bowl with what were two insect-like claws on one paw but eventually was able to pick up the spoon.
The spoon picked up the warm porridge and Chimera was about to bring it to their mouth when they realized they weren't going to be able to with the huge metal point at the front of their mouth so they just opted to pour it through the sides of their mouth. Once they were finally able to swallow the savory meal they could finally taste it and it was… delicious!
"Oh wow!"
"Great, huh? Took this from the Guild kitchen. The person who works there is Lucario, he's a great chef."
"He really is," Chimera said through spoonfuls of porridge. "I have a question."
"Oh so now it's my turn for an examination."
"Oh, no. Nothing like that. Where's Team Parallel and the other people who came with me?"
"I wouldn't say 'came' per say, but earlier Goodra and Team Parallel did come to visit you."
"They did?"
"Yeah but you were out cold so you didn't see 'em. Right now it's most likely that Team Parallel took a job and that Goodra's talking to Avery and Sceptile or something. Don't know."
"What about the other guys?"
"You mean the Garchomp and Salazzle chick? No idea."
"Oh…"
Chimera finally finished the food and passed the tray to Charizard.
"Aren't you gonna take the mirror?"
"Oh, I forgot!" Charizard handed it over to them. It was small wooden and very well carved with little markings and patterns on it.
Chimera looked at their face with it. It was still the same metallic and silver one with a weird ax thing at the top but they weren't looking at that they were looking at-
"The golden ring…"
Around their gilded iris was a ring with two cuts on opposite sides of it with the same golden color.
"Just like in the dream…"
"Huh?"
So was the dream real. Well no it couldn't be since I didn't drown to death. But then was Giratina trying to contact them through it? But it seemed like he didn't know why he was there either. What's going on?
"Huh, pretty eyes," Charizard interrupted while looking into the mirror with them.
Chimera blushed a bit, "w-what?"
"Your eyes. They're pretty."
"O-oh thank you," that was nice.
"Why did you want to look at your eyes so quickly?" Charizard asked.
"Oh, no reason. I-I just didn't really know what I looked like that well. Just kind of wanted a better look," I feel bad for lying.
"Okay. Oh wait, I forgot to tell you!" Charizard exclaimed. "Arceus damn it… How could I forget? Urgh, I need to get you to Avery's office," Charizard took off the handcuff connected to the bed frame.
"Huh, why?" Chimera got up.
"Come now. She said that as quickly as we can, you need to get to her office," Charizard took one of Chimera's paws and pulled them off the bed.
"Hey, don't just move me without warning," Chimera said after landing properly.
"Anyways we gotta go!" Charizard began to run out of the room.
"Wait up!" Chimera followed after him with a bit of a struggle.
