"Tvs, Radios, and Text via book or newspaper... when those are around..."
A red eye cracks open in the darkness as the Draconid girl sits up, she gazes down at the teen resting beside her.
Ugh. Leave it to them to get only a room with only a single twin-sized bed.
There's barely any space between them, buuuut she technically isn't paying for this room. She has no money so her companion let her give him an 'IOU'.
A small smirk crosses her face as she looks over the sleeping figure.
That sheer power. The knowledge of his clan as its lore keeper. The restraint to not abuse his power.
She couldn't have gotten luckier with her traveling companion.
If he was just some normal dude, yeah, she might have hung around for a bit, if he was easy to manipulate, she wouldn't be above using her womanly charms, not sex, mind you, but she could flutter her eyes a bit and have him do her bidding. And once she was through with him, she'd just leave him behind and go on her own journey. After all, a weak-minded simpleton who folds to her each and every request isn't suited to be the last Draconid's traveling companion, and well, she can't afford to be nice when the planet might be struck by an extinction level event with each passing day.
But Xander here? He's not like that. The last of his tribe, much like her, with knowledge and skills from it that she would never know by herself.
He is decisively her equal in almost every way, and even then, in the ways they aren't equal, typically he is far better than her at something.
She knows ancient methods to train dragons surpassing those of the blackthorn clan, he knows how to read the ancient language.
She knows the legends of Hoenn, he knows the legends of Unova.
She is toned and fit, and he equally so, except he also has the ability to punch a hole in an Aggron.
She will admit that sort of power isn't something she has, but as a dragon type trainer it definitely allures her!
She sees his gaze straying across her body when he thinks she won't notice.
She does the same for him.
Those damn abs and muscly arms.
She taps her chin as her gaze strays across his sleeping form, then gazes up at the ceiling.
She wonders if her family would mind if... maybe... the Draconid tribe died out with her and she makes a new tribe going forwards?
The Draconids and the Welsh...
Drelsh? Wraconids? Welconids? Dracelsh?
The lorekeeper shakes her head quietly as she lays back down. This isn't the time to be worrying about such nonsense. Not when the world is at stake.
As she closes her eyes, she misses the two glowing amber eyes of the trainer she is sharing a bed with open.
He may not be able to read minds, but... even the weakest of empaths could feel the emotions she was projecting.
A small smirk appears on his face.
I step into the school building, flanked by Zinnia, people wearing construction helmets are carrying beams alongside Timburr and Gurdurr, meandering about the destroyed office.
We walk past them and deeper into the building, Zinnia following me without comment as more often than not I seem to know exactly where I want to be going.
In this case, she'd be right.
My target is already within the range of my observation haki.
We come to the lunchroom where even more construction is underway, the floors might have been slightly messed up by Gaia, but it looks like they are using it as an excuse to remodel the entire room.
I spy the person I am looking for, a young adult with chin-length black hair, atop his head he has one strand of hair that refuses to stay down, he has a white dress shirt with a pocket on the front, a red tie with a pokeball shaped tie clip, he also wears jeans and has simple brown dress shoes.
He turns at our approach, looking over the two of us as recognition flashes in his eyes.
"Oh? You two are... the ones who helped stop team plasma, correct?"
"That's right." I nod as we stop before the gym leader.
"I see." He lowly mutters. "I haven't had the opportunity to thank you. Truly thank you for everything that you've done. I say this as not only a league represented Gym Leader, but also as a teacher at this school. You saved the lives of dozens of people and pokemon."
"It was nothing really. I didn't really do it to be thanked. I was looking for you, actually."
"Same." Zinnia echoes.
"You were looking for me? Whatever for?" He questions.
"Why does any trainer seek out a gym leader after the year's Gym Circuit starts?" I ask with a small smile.
"Ah. Right. A silly question. You two wanted to challenge the Aspertia Gym?"
"Yeah." Zinnia nods.
"Alright." The gym leader mutters as he nods his head. "I hate to say, but due to the attack, we were planning on postponing any gym challenges for at least a week, but... I suppose I could possibly make an exception for you two. How many badges do you have?"
"None." Zinnia answers.
"None." I agree.
He frowns slightly. "Would... you like to fight pokemon that are stronger than what I use for first badge trainers?"
""Yes."" We both answer immediately.
He frowns down at the three pokeballs on Zinnia's hip. "I... wouldn't recommend taking the gym challenge without a full team. It's possible, but each of your pokemon would need to take out two of my own."
"That's fine. I believe in my pokemon."
"Alright. I won't dissuade you from fighting, then." The trainer notes as he turns and begins walking away. "Please follow me."
We trail after the trainer as he takes us out of the school to a large dirt field in the back. "Wait here for a minute, please. I'll be right back."
He turns and makes his way back towards the school as I walk over to one of the wooden bleachers and take a seat.
"So, who's going first?" I question.
"I'll do it!" The feral woman grins.
"Alright. Go ahead." I relent as I lean back and open up the internet on my watch.
"What's that?" The girl questions as she takes a seat beside it.
"All in one pokedex, watch, and web browser. My father made it before he died. I only found it recently." I explain curtly.
She points to the smaller holographic screen which has a speckled egg on it. "What's this?"
"Oh, that's an experiment of my father's. I doubt it'll work, but supposedly he was trying to make a defense system better than Porygon." I continue. "In the months since I found the watch, the egg hasn't even twitched. So, like I said, probably won't work."
"Hn. Boring shit, then?" The girl scoffs.
'You won't be saying that shit when it hatches into a dragon type, you dragon obsessed sociopath.' I mentally grunt with an eyeroll, deciding not to comment on her statement.
She looks down at her pokeballs and lets out a low hum. "Oi, which do you think I should use first, Shelgon or Altaria?"
"Whichever you use less for battle, or is weaker, I guess?" I shrug idly as I glance over to her. "The first few on his team are more than likely going to be weaker as he works his way up to an 'ace pokemon' to mop up the remaining weakened pokemon. It'd give your lesser experienced pokemon a chance to get some training in."
"Hrn..." The girl notes, considering what I just suggested.
It takes around five minutes, but eventually Cheren comes back outside with six pokeballs on his waist.
"I will now face you with my third badge team." He declares as he looks between Zinnia and myself. "Who's first?"
Zinnia stands up and walks to one side of the dirt arena as a trainer steps out from around the gym leader and stands at the side of the arena.
"Are both of you ready?" They ask.
I spy a certain pink haired team magma admin take a seat on the bleachers somewhere behind me, I can feel her eyes on the back of my head as I boredly scratch my chin.
"The Gym battle of Challenger Zinnia Draconid shall now begin. Both trainers please call out your first pokemon."
"Come on out Yungoos" Cheren calls as a large brown and blonde pokemon appears on the field with a red flash.
"Altaria." Zinnia simply frowns as the cloud dragon appears
The pokemon lets out a loud singing cry as it takes off and does a small loop.
"Begin!"
"Altaria. Dragon pulse."
"Altariaaaaa-" the cloud-like pokemon cries as it swoops down, a purple orb forming in its beak.
"Yungoos. Counter with Rock Tomb."
Large hunks of earth pull themselves from the battlefield and hang around the long mongoose pokemon's body, as the Altaria shoots a beam of condensed draconic power the rocks shoot forwards, the two attacks colliding in the air with a shuddering boom.
Zinnia puts two fingers into her mouth and lets out a shrill whistle that carries an ominous and melodic tune.
With a flap of the dragon type's wings the smoke cloud is blown towards the Yungoos.
"Yungoos. Workup." The normal type gym leader calls out.
Altaria opens its mouth and lets out a cry as it spirals upwards, a glowing energy seems to surround it as its speed seems to increase rapidly.
'Dragon dance? Huh... that's a pretty rare move. It's supposed to be a Blackthorn family secret technique.'
Of course, I have a couple pokemon back at home who can use it, but still, pretty interesting. I bet her Shelgon can do it as well.
"Sweep!" Zinnia calls out.
A blue bead of energy forms in the dragon's mouth as it spins.
A blue beam shoots out, sweeping across the battlefield, wherever it touches spikes of ice sprout from the earth.
The normal type pokemon lets out a cry of pain as it is shot out of the dust cloud ice clings to its body as the Altaria circles slowly up above.
As the pokemon stands up, shaking the ice from its body-
"Dragon claw!"
The cloud pokemon dives downwards, picking up tremendous speed as it pulls back at the last moment, purple energy crackling around one of its feet as the talons dig into the side of the Alolan pokemon, it is catapulted through the air where it lands as a heap before Cheren.
It squirms slightly for a moment, but eventually falls unconscious.
He lets out a small sigh before returning it to its ball. "You did well, Yungoos."
He clips the ball to his hip and grabs another. "Go. Pidgeotto!"
A bird with a plume of red lets out a shriek as it forms on the battlefield.
Pidgeotto to Herdier to Bibarel, the singing dragon type managed to take out each and every one.
That level of strength is... fairly impressive, all things considered. He said that this is a third badge team? To be able to take down four one after another is strength probably comparable to five or six badges. Not bad.
Is this her weakest pokemon? Well, her weakest dragon type at least... the whismur is more like a pet or mascot. Maybe I have been underestimating her.
Her Altaria has taken a few hits and sits on the floor, having taken a fairly damaging Giga Impact from the Bibarel and an arial ace or two from the Pidgeotto.
I was correct in my earlier assumption of Yungoos being the weakest of his team.
The thing is, none of the prior attacks were the thing that grounded the dragon... what did it was the Bibarel's last ditch effort Hydro Pump.
You'd think that it would have done nothing to Altaria, due to being resistant to water...
But it did one thing... it got Altaria wet.
Altaria can't fly when its cloudy fur is wet, I've come to find out.
Understandable, I guess, but holy fucking shit. Wet Altaria is genuinely fucking cursed to look at. You'd think that their wings would be at the very least sort of large, but no, they look like two little pencils.
Altaria looks pretty frail, and honestly, it probably is. It prefers to avoid any and all attacks, surviving most physical blows by using Cotton Guard.
It looks like neither will be an option for the dragon type going forwards, so this next pokemon may just spell its doom.
Or it could defeat the next two and go for a total wipe.
"Go, Dachsbun." Cheren calls out as he summons a brown dog that looks as if it were made of bread.
'Hold the fuck on- why is he using a mono-fairy type?'
I open my watch and quickly begin surfing the internet.
"Go! Altaria! Dragon Pulse!"
I watch through the mildly see-through screen, watching the fairy type crouch and tilt its body against the beam, the draconic energy watches over the bread doggo, the force of the attack surprisingly having an effect on it.
Not any damage, mind you, but it still seems to apply 'force' to the dog. As if it was being shot by a water hose.
Does type immunities mean nothing in this world?
That is a good question.
Does it simply play out as 'supreme resistance' instead of immunity? Like-
Oh...
Ooooooh...
There's a research paper on the natures of types that was created last year, primarily focusing on the psychic immunity of dark types and the poison immunity of steel types.
It was on one of the more 'sketchy' websites due to the nature of the research, but the results hold true even with a less vile method.
TLDR. A criminal dark type specialist got her team turned inside out after she got it in her head that she could totally go and capture one of the lake trio. Then a magnemite was dissolved after being submerged in poison for several hours.
Immunities aren't immunities. They are just really powerful resistances. Or sometimes not at all, as fighting type pokemon and normal type pokemon seem to still get their souls ripped from their bodies, and certain fighting type moves and normal type moves still seem to hit ghost types. Primarily Aura Sphere and Hyper Beam.
Good to know. I should also see about posting some research papers about the fairy type to get ahead of the curve.
Now I won't have loki tank an attack from Kyurem.
I look up to see the bread dog pokemon rapidly moving across the field under the effects of quick attack, striking Atlaria with its body as it brushes past, Zinnia glares at the dog, her eyes tracking its movements as it circles the grounded dragon type.
"Peck! To the left!"
The blue dragon abruptly lunges to the side, beak cloaked in a bright white-ish blue energy as it strikes to the steaming body of Dachsbun.
It impacts the dog's shoulder and shoves him away, earning a small yipe from the canine, but, surprisingly, despite the gap in ability, it doesn't seem to hurt it all that much.
Did-
Did she shoot it with a fire attack while I wasn't paying attention?
How do you do literally the ONLY two things you should never do to a Dachsbun that you are fighting against in such a short time frame?!
Fairy type isn't widely acknowledged, so maybe I should educate her on the finer points of kicking fey ass. Like getting a steel or poison type move.
The bird-like dragon's wings shudder and flap, the ends smacking into the dirt arena with a wet slap, rapidly staining the normally pristine white fluff.
"Ice Beam!"
Altaria's beak opens, then a moment later a chilling light blue beam of frozen power strikes the fairy type, causing it to let out a growl as it leaps away.
"Work up!"
A red miasma surrounds Dachsbun as it begins growling.
"Go! Dachsbun!" Cheren shouts as he holds out a hand.
The bread dog rushes forwards and body checks the Altaria, it begins pawing at the dragon type as it is knocked aside.
"Altaria! Damn it! Cotton Guard!" Zinnia shouts out.
Altaria tries to puff out its wings, but it doesn't gain much success, merely slapping the bread doggo with its wet pool-noodle-like wool wings.
With another body check, the Altaria falls over, weakly slamming into the ground as it struggles to lift its head.
Was that Play Rough?
"Challenger Zinnia's Altaria is unable to battle. Please send out your next pokemon."
I wonder if Shelgon can take this?
Pfft. Definitely. This Dachsbun might have posed a problem if it was a first stage pseudo legendary, but a mid-stage? Even with fairy typing, I doubt many attacks will cause much damage through her ace's thick shell.
Pov: Elsewhere.
Analyzing.
The newfound target is traveling with a woman of darker skin tone. Black hair. Red eyes. Alias, 'Zinnia Draconid'. If she holds a true relation to the ancient Hoenn tribe and isn't merely using their name? Undetermined. Needs further data. The use of dragon types supports the theory, however. As does her tanned skin tone. Clearly, she has spent a long extent of her time outside. Even more so than most pokemon trainers.
Her team is composed of an Altaria, Shelgon, and an unknown third pokemon. Current threat level? Overall?
Minimal.
Threat level to current team? Substantial.
The pink haired girl's eyes slide over to her true target stood out on one side of the training field as the normal type Gym Leader, Cheren, gathers his fourth badge team.
Target locked. Commencing visual analysis while factoring previous events.
Name. Xander with no last name given. He appears to be a trainer on his first Gym Circuit.
He possesses unnatural strength and has abilities that cannot be scientifically explained. Why does his skin turn black sometimes? What was that ominous domineering presence he released?
Then there's the matter of the advanced tech he has on his wrist. Interactive holograms are... not impossible, but they are still extremely rare. To have that sort of tech compressed into the size of a watch is extremely advanced.
There have been no notions of that sort of thing ever existing. It must be some form of prototype. But where did he get it?
In addition to his tech, and super powers, his team is also nothing to scoff at.
Two Flareons in a color she has never seen before, both at strengths rivaling that of her old team, a small spikey ball made of a type of metal she has never seen before, then an Alpha Deino. Unova's strongest non-legendary pokemon... in addition, he can control it. Something that can't be said about most of the trainers in Unova. He makes it look completely and totally effortless. Something the Region's champion can't even do, though she will give Champion Iris the benefit of the doubt and say that her's is fully evolved.
Courtney herself isn't too knowledgeable about dragon type pokemon. It is possible they grow more violent and harder to control as they evolve.
At the very least, she believes that Xander will be able to command his future Hydreigon at a level of skill that equals the new Unovan Champion.
She has no idea what two remaining pokemon he has. He only used four to defeat the team plasma goons who occupied the school.
His team is threatening enough that she should probably categorize their threat level individually, as if he summons all six, its possible he might be able to take on dozens of trainers at once.
A single person... capable of taking out an entire division of Team Magma... or any villainous team, really.
Most of his pokemon are unevolved. If he were to evolve them...
Would he even be a threat to her beloved Maxie?
"Please summon your first pokemon." The referee orders.
"Come on out, Sawsbuck." Cheren calls as a large deer with pink blossoms scattered across its antlers appears.
"Surtur. It's time for a little exercise." Her target blandly announces.
a-
Wh...
What is that?
She notices the gym leader's eyebrows raise briefly, but that isn't important to her right now. Taking in the appearance of this new pokemon is by far the most important thing to her right now.
A Growlithe?!
Analyzing.
That isn't like anything she has ever seen before... instead of the normal orange of a Growlithe, this one is a deep reddish color, its fur looks less 'fuzzy' and more like... stone?
Is it a rock-fire type?
That is... weaker than the standard Growlithe.
Not only would the weakness to water type moves grow, but so would ground type moves.
It is vaguely interesting that a growlithe variant exists, but overall it is nothing to be all too pleased about.
"Begin!"
"Stealth rock."
The canine pokemon lifts its head, brown energy forming in its mouth, flicking its head back it sends a large hunk of earth from the arena into the air, as it reaches the peak of its height, it detonates, sending dozens of sharpened rocks exploding outwards.
They float in the air for a moment before becoming completely see-through.
The normal type gym leader frowns at the growlithe, seemingly deep in thought. After a moment, he eventually nods once.
"Sawsbuck go." He orders the deer pokemon.
The brown furred pokemon lunges forwards, pebbles flash into existence, floating in the air as it rushes past, they dart into the sides of the grass normal type, jabbing into its flanks as it continues forwards.
Cheren makes a gamble, seemingly coming to the same conclusion the observing girl had. "Sawsbuck! Double ki-"
The sawsbuck, hearing its order twists around-
"Duck. Back Flame Wheel"
The hind legs of the deer kick out like a horse, completely missing the growlithe as it presses itself against the dirt, its legs tense as with a howl, it backflips, fire coating its body as it spirals backwards, eventually landing on its feet a short distance away.
The sawsbuck lets out a cry of pain as the fire licks at its back limbs, but it doesn't even get a moment to breathe as Xander calls out another order.
"Power Gem."
Growlithe opens its mouth and shoots a reddish beam out towards the reeling deer, with a dull explosion it is sent flying.
The Growlithe stands, head held high as it waits for its opponent to return to its feet.
It doesn't.
"Sawsbuck is unable to battle." The referee announces.
Rock and fire is a... fairly bad typing, yet she can't say she isn't intrigued as a fire type specialist. The pokemon clearly has some raw power behind it. This is merely Xander's first badge, yet his team is comparable to fully evolved pokemon.
His team- even himself- are a large threat to the happenings of Team Magma.
She recalls those cold merciless eyes he had. That sociopathic apathy that only lessened when he laid eyes on someone who could understand him.
He would have no qualms with killing. Something that most trainers shy away from.
If he is given a good enough reason to destroy Magma, the organization would suffer tremendous losses.
"Go Bibarel." Cheren calls out as he replaces his pokemon. "Water Pulse!"
"Take it and go down. TF." Xander orders casually, causing the magma admin's eyebrows to shoot upwards.
Is he sacrificing his own pokemon like a simple pawn? What need is there for that? Does he want to see how strong the Bibarel is or something? Does he want to get more training for his pokemon by having it continue the fight while being severely weakened?
A large ball of water shoots across the battlefield and crashes into the Growlithe, detonating with a wet boom and a plume of steam.
*SSSSS*
A menacing hiss echoes throughout the battlefield as the steam billows out in all directions, obstructing all sight for several feet. Xander's pokemon is completely and totally obscured.
Nothing happens for a moment.
*BOOM*
A pillar of roaring hot steam erupts from under the Bibarel as the fire type pokemon lunges out of the earth, lightning crackles around its maw as it bites into the beaver pokemon's side.
Lightning crackles along the normal-water type's flank as it is slammed into the ground. It rolls briefly as Xander calls out another command.
"Power Gem."
Another beam of red energy shoots out and crashes into the normal type pokemon, catapulting it towards the edge of the arena.
The Bibarel lands with a small thud. It writhes briefly, sparks of paralysis earning a few twitches from the beaver.
Seeing that it doesn't get up, the referee calls it. "Bibarel is unable to battle."
Oh. Take it and go down... as in, go underground.
Now that there is a brief moment of calm between the two trainers, Courtney can finally take a moment to observe this new state the Growlithe has entered. Its body is almost completely obscured by steam, it clings to its fur like a suit of armor, slowly wafting upwards into the sky at the very edges.
He has a fire-rock type that is... completely and totally immune to the effects of water. Turning one of its greatest weaknesses into a strength.
She wants one.
She will be forced to follow and observe this variable.
In her journeys she will see if she can talk him into giving her one, but alas, she doesn't have anything to offer him.
She could make him her second in command, a spot in the Magma organization that makes it incredibly easy for further promotion into an admin. Primarily things like that happen when previous admins get arrested, their position lowered, or they die.
"Go. Diggersby."
She notices a slight change in her target, a change that one wouldn't notice unless they had analytical capabilities comparable to herself and were carefully studying the teen.
The slight tensing, a small frown tugging at his lips, his narrowed eyes.
A large bipedal grey and brown rabbit appears on the field.
"Mud shot!"
"Shield." Xander orders.
It appears that this new pokemon is a ground type. Meaning that while water isn't effective against this new Growlithe, the same can't be said for ground type moves. Good to know.
The dog pokemon flicks its head back abruptly, causing a large stone shield to shoot upwards in front of it as the rabbit sticks an ear into the dirt below it and throws it forwards.
The mud splatters against the rock wall as steam hisses wildly around the Growlithe.
Diggersby abruptly leaps up and dives into the ground, disappearing under the earth as stealth rocks appear and shoot towards it, they don't connect, peppering the ground with little thuds.
"Up on the pillar." Xander orders as his eyes stray across the floor.
Growlithe leaps once and lands on the top of the rock tomb pillar he just raised, looking out across the arena.
Nothing happens for a long moment.
"…"
The white haired teen lets out a long sigh as he gives Cheren a bored glare. "Alright, I didn't want to be forced to do this, but if you are going to be this lame about this, fine. Surtur. Earthquake. D-Six."
Courtney flinches back, as does Cheren, both surprised that the Growlithe even knows that move as it turns slightly to face the left.
Diggersby explodes from the ground... only to promptly get sniped by another power gem beam.
Oh...
It was a bluff. When your pokemon is a complete unknown, bluffs would be fairly effective, wouldn't they?
"Rocktomb. C-Seven. Then Power Gem again."
A spire of earth shoots up in the way of the airborne Diggersby, it crashes into it and is struck by a second red laser that punches it through the rock wall completely.
Diggersby rights itself and flips around, looking as if it is going to use the dust of it being smashed through the spire of rock to hide its escape.
"Tomb. B-Eight. Then Power Gem." Xander orders.
A flash of realization crosses Courtney's face.
Chess.
He's turned the entire battlefield into a proverbial chess board, allowing him to accurately issue commands to his pokemon even if there are no visible targets.
That is... genius.
She will be copying that idea for the future.
A pillar of rock shoots from the earth and smashes into the rabbit's head, sending it high into the sky, it is propelled even further by another wave of rock type energy.
A question comes to the forefront of Courtney's mind. 'How is he keeping track of the enemy's pokemon with such accuracy?'
He has shown some impressive spatial awareness already, having sensed that one ghost-water type, 'Jellicent' as her research has come to inform her. Could it be possible he possesses some form of psionic ability?
The rabbit Pokémon crashes to the ground with a dull thud, quickly rolls to its feet with a small cringe as its fall seems to have caused some fair damage, the non-effective rock type hits have also probably been piling up.
It then dives into the earth.
"Get into range and hit it with High Horsepower." Cheren orders.
Nothing happens for a moment.
A grey and brown missile shoots from the earth, smashing through the base of the rock spire Growlithe is standing on, swiftly returning to the earth as the rubble begins to slowly topple.
Xander crosses his arms. "Bite. F-Four."
As the red canine crouches on the falling pillar, body tensing as it turns its head to look at where it is slowly falling, a figure explodes from the earth, glowing with brownish energy.
The fire type leaps, steam billowing around it.
The steam seems to condense in front of it as the two collide in the air,
Diggersby's ears crash through the steam, judging by the twiching of the pokemon's face, it doesn't feel too good, in addition, it looks as if the steam cushioned the blow.
It lets out a cry of surprise as the Growlithe lets out a snarl, teeth digging into one of its extended appendages.
"Roll!" Xander orders.
Fire cloaks the canine pokemon as it begins a barrel roll, dragging the normal type behind it as it falls downwards.
'That is an interesting use of flame wheel' the fire type specialist mentally notes.
"Flip!"
The earlier flame wheel energy changes as it... uses two flame wheels at once?!
One wheel causes the dog to do a barrel roll, but the other causes it to front flip.
The Growlithe bludgeons the Diggersby into ground, causing a small crater to form in the earth as it uses the rabbit like a large hammer.
"He's done." Xander calls out, causing his pokemon to release his foe's ear and cautiously back up, lowly growling, the steam armor seems to have fully dissipated, only a small wisp of steam radiating off the pokemon's body every now and then.
She can see a small limp from the canine, but it is hiding it well. Judging by Xander's frown he can see it as well.
Regardless, it did surprisingly well at fending off a move like High Horsepower despite its crippling weakness to the ground type.
It shakes its head briefly and stands tall as Cheren recalls his third Pokémon.
This is Xander's apparent first badge, yet here he is singlehandedly wiping out three of out of six of Cheren's four-badge team with a single pokemon.
This enigma of a trainer just keeps getting more and more interesting.
What else is he hiding?
How could she quantify the strength of his team?
There's so much about him that she needs to analyze!
Well, we get to see Xander and Zinnia's first stint of the Gym Circuit... and wow, both are fairly impressive. Their teams are genuinely nothing to scoff at.
Xander's whose pokemon who are genetically modified to be better.
And Zinnia who has ancient training methods and techniques to push her team beyond their limits.
Plus, we got to see one of Xander's Special alterations.
Surtur:
Species: Hisuian Growlith.
Gender: Male
Type: Fire/Rock
Ability: Steam Powered: When struck by a water type move, Hisuian Growlith takes no damage, instead a veil of thick, almost solid, steam is formed around them that improves their defense and special defense by a single combat stage. In addition, this heated steam causes light fire damage to opposing pokemon through physical contact.
Moves: Fire Fang, Flame Wheel, Bite, Thunder Fang, Rock Tomb, Power Gem, Dig, Stealth Rock
Guest Reviews:
Guest 001: I mean, a honedge possessing a gun wouldn't be a 'Honedge'. It would be something like 'Honeshot', and instead of Dualblade, 'Dualcaliber' maybe Ageiblast instead of Ageislash.
Anon: Yeah, Xander has no devious intentions AT ALL.
JustAFan123: if there's no benefit to being evil, Xander won't be evil. He's nice like that.
I'll see you all later.
