"Oh? Roxie moved our gym battles ahead?" I ask the pink haired magma admin standing in the lobby.

"Yeah. Yours in around an hour." She nods quietly.

"That's great!" I grin. "We can finally move on, then."

She nods once and sits on my left as Zinnia comes back with a massive mountain of meat and scrambled eggs, stuffing her face with a feverous pace, making use of the money she had recently gained from absolutely demolishing passing trainers in 1v1s.

I calmly sip on my sweetened coffee, gazing past the starving Draconid out the window into the slightly chilly late January air.

"I took the time to analyze your most recent research project. 'Same Type Attack Bonus'. Genius. A simple explanation for the relation of pokemon types and the moves they use."

"Thank you." I quietly thank her compliments. "I've also searched you up as well, you've theorized that there are never before seen pokemon hidden in the deepest magma chambers, right?"

She smiles and nods once. "Yes."

"It's extremely likely." I nod slowly. "It's also likely that a pocket of extinct fossil pokemon have survived somewhere under the earth. A large subterranean caverns system of some sort. Though, it's doubtful they'll be the exact same as their fossils. Three hundred million years is a long time, after all."

"Yes... that is possible." She agrees.

"it's honestly sort of astounding how a few million years can drastically change a pokemon, I mean, just look at Kommo-o and Cyclizar."

"Oh?"

"They share a sole ancestor." I admit. "Probably the pokemon with the closest relation to each other. Of course, then there's Dragonite and Charizard being another notable sibling species, though its likely they split ages before Cyclizar and Kommo-o."

"Yes, because Charizard evolved their eternal tail flame which can burn regardless of if it was doused with water, correct?" She echoes.

"That's right." I nod once. "Honestly, regional variants is probably the first step in creating an entirely new pokemon species."

"Then that implies that ancient pokemon had regional variants as well. This theory has a larger than average chance of being correct. We should perhaps take a co-operative and more in-depth look at pokemon evolution over time."

"We'd need some way to differentiate it from our classic understanding of pokemon evolution. Because when you say 'Evolution' most people typically think Bagon to Shelgon. Not Bagon to Bagon but it has a funny horn now."

"Ugh. Why don't you two nerdy lovebirds just start kissing already."

Courtney frowns. "I'll have you know that I already have a true love. And he-"

"And he..."

"He..." Her voice grows more and more distant as she stares off into the distance.

A pang of distress flows out from her, she is absolutely distraught. Moments away from violently snapping- The pink haired girl shakes her head, resolve filling her body. "And he's a bit shy sometimes, and while he doesn't say it, I'm positive he loves me too."

"Alright, that's enough, it's been bothering me for like ages, but I have to know, how the fuck do you know things?"

"Pardon? I do not understand your query." The girl blinks.

"The Gyarados thing." Zinnia nods.

"I knew it was there because I could vaguely sense its life force and emotions. You somehow singled out eight machines keeping it there. What the fuck?"

"I do not know." The girl replies with a small headshake. "Sometimes I simply get visions. Vivid flashes where my imagination runs wild. They are more often than not illogical and don't come to pass, but sometimes there are truths hidden amongst them."

"So you're psychic." I observe.

"No... I'm not." The girl denies with a small head shake.

"Yes. You are. Visions are not something a normal person gets. Hell, I don't even think most psychic type pokemon get visions of the future." I scoff as I cross my arms.

"They are not visions of the future." The pink haired girl frowns.

"Because you don't want to believe whatever vision you just had was true, right?" Zinnia, being surprisingly observant questions.

The girl's fists ball slightly as she pointedly glares down at the table.

Nobody says anything for a long moment so I decide to move the conversation along. "So. Courtney, how as your training been going?"

"My Fletchling and Slizzlipede evolved. As did my Salandit."

"Think you can take Roxie?"

"Debatable." The girl announces. "Due to our lack of time, I will perhaps be fighting the pokemon she uses for her two badge team instead of pokemon from a stronger group. If I fail, we won't have time to wait for my rematch."

"Very true." I nod.

"You said that she uses pokemon stronger than normal? I'll probably face her two badge team as well." Zinnia agrees. "My Horsea isn't up to snuff, so I'll more than likely be forced to two-v-three her."

The second pink haired girl of our little group slowly approaches the table and tiredly sits down beside me, letting out a quiet yawn.

She wipes an eye and looks over the three of us. "What?"

"Roxie moved our gym battles up."

"Really?!" The girl gasps as she reaches down and grabs her pokedex, eyes widening at the notification in her messenger app.

A grin slowly crosses her face. "Maybe now I'll get a chance to put that bitch in her place."

"What has she done to piss you off, again?" I idly wonder aloud.

"Exist." Klara frowns.

"Hn. Alright. Just be aware that if you lose to her, we won't have time for you to wait ages for a rematch, so you can choose to come with us, or stay behind and try again."

She stiffens slightly, eyes growing wide. This must seem like a lot of pressure.

"I-I see." The girl stutters. "I'll keep that in mind."

I quietly gaze around the darkened room, a deep bass causes my lungs to vibrate.

I let out a sole breath as I step up onto a large empty dance floor divided into two halves, a large pokeball symbol in the center of the floor.

*FLASH*

A spotlight shines down on me from the ceiling.

On the far side of the room atop a stage, numerous colored spotlights shine down, illuminating a sole girl, she has chin-length, snow white hair with the bangs tied up atop her head with pink and blue beads, she wears a large, considerably oversized pink and blue shirt, the large floppy sleeves covering her hands, the bottom ripped and torn, the neck so large that if she wanted she could probably very easily cause it to fall past her shoulders and off her body entirely.

In contrast to this large shirt, you can see two black straps for a tank top on her shoulders, and you can just barely make out the black short-shorts she wears through the rips in the bottom of her oversized... sweater?

She wears black platform boots, with the bottom being a light blue color.

In her hands in a large black and purple bass guitar that resembles a scolipede.

She loudly strums on it once, causing the large speakers behind her to ring out a loud, jarring noise, making my ears ring slightly as the crowd surrounding the outside ring of the battlefield erupts into cheers.

She takes a microphone off a nearby stand with a savage grin, there's a brief bit of feedback as she brings it to her mouth.

"SO!"

"You're this Xander guy I've heard so much about from my fellow gym leaders!"

I blink slowly as a man quietly approaches me and hands me a wireless microphone, I take it and speak into it. "Yeah. What about it?"

"I heard you wiped out Cheren's four badge team with just two pokemon... and that was your first ever gym battle!"

"I could have done it in one, but I wanted my weaker pokemon to get some experience." I answer back, matching her grin.

"You're pretty fuckin' arrogant for some dude who just started his gym circuit." The girl growls.

"And you're looking down on me because I became a trainer five weeks ago. I wouldn't call myself arrogant. I just know the capabilities of my pokemon." I shoot back.

"Well, then hot shot, how about you put your money where your mouth is?"

"What do you have in mind?" I ask.

"Well, since you think your mons are sooo great how about a challenge." The girl smirks as with a flash a large purple and yellow bipedal reptile appears behind her.

With a flash a mohawk of yellow sparks appears down the center of its head.

"TOXTRI!" It roars as Roxie crosses her arms. "I haven't had a good challenger so far in this circuit and Toxic here has been pretty amped up all week. How about this, one of my pokemon versus your... oh? You've got seven pokemon there? I'll say one on seven."

"Pass. My seventh hatched literally this morning, so I won't use it in battle. I'll make do with six. But I hope you know that using a pokemon from your personal team on someone who only has one gym badge looks pretty pathetic."

'I'll need to change up my strategy. Afflicting it with a status effect early on would increase my percentage of victory massively. Oh look. Cynthia is in the crowd. I might as well give her a little treat for dealing with that Gyarados and staying out of my hair. Nyx it is.'

"OH YEAH?" The girl snarls as the poison-electric type sparks with lightning.

"Considering that this is a pokemon that it's unlikely eight badge teams could easily pull off a victory against, I suppose I'll just have to take off the kiddy gloves." I announce as I take out a pokeball.

With a single leap the Toxtricity lands in the arena with a loud thud earning a tremendous cheer from the observers.

I wordlessly tap a few buttons in my watch.

'annnd upload the dossier for Hisuian Zorua.'

"Challenger Welsh! Please release your first pokemon."

I push the button on the first pokeball, causing a flash out light to shoot out and for a small wispy white and blue fox to appear on the battlefield.

The arena devolves into gasps that rapidly transform into cheers.

"Oh? That's not a pokemon I've seen before." The gym leader comments.

"It's a regional variant of the extremely rare pokemon, Zorua. So, it's likely you'll never see another." I admit.

The little fox looks around, eyes narrowing in mischievousness as it locks onto the large pokemon in front of us.

"Fancy. I fail to see how this could beat me."

"Nyx. This pokemon could easily wipe the team if you fail. D-O-T. That's your only goal. Worry about the other stuff later." I order.

"Zoruuu!" It howls as it lowers its body into a fighting stance.

With a shimmer her body is replaced with the purple and yellow electric-poison type in front of her.

"Get anything good?" I question, causing the transformed pokemon to tilt its head and let out a quiet 'Zor-Zora.'

'somewhat' eh?

"Oh! I remember now. Is this one of those illusionist mons they talk about in fairy tales?" Roxie scoffs. "Alright, let's get this show on the road!"

"Begin!" The referee at the side exclaims as they swing a flag- that seems to be some of Roxie's merchandise- downwards.

Roxie's pokemon lunges forwards at speeds that I'm not even sure I could react to once it gets in close.

But luckily, I have a good two seconds of warning.

"Frontal charge." I call out.

The opposing pokemon blurs forwards as Nyx tenses, its fist crackles with electricity as it rapidly approaches, it punches towards roughly Nyx's shins, assuming that the toxtricity form of my pokemon is merely an illusion and its still down there somewhere.

Nyx sidesteps the thunder punch, stepping past Roxie's 'toxic', cupping her newfound hands together and conjuring a ball of blue fire.

"TOXIC! DODGE IT!" Roxie shouts.

The pokemon's eyes widen as the blue flaming orb of will-o-wisp is shot out like a hadouken from my transformed Zorua.

The fireball misses as the Toxtricity tenses and leaps as hard as it can, gaining considerable air.

The spiraling orb abruptly curves upwards like a curved baseball, or a balloon which had been spun in between two hands, its path predetermined, and striking the airborne poison type as it crosses its arms.

It lets out a quiet shout as the blue flames explode across its arms, cringing as blue flickers cling to its limbs, it completes a backflip, landing on the dance floor with a crouch, giving its arms a swing to snuff out the fire.

It appears to work, only for the blue fire to flicker back to life a moment later and disappear.

'So, they are burned now. This is decisively my victory.'

"Ugh. I didn't take you for a lame bastard who uses and abuses status conditions." Roxie scoffs

"I didn't take for you for someone who would punch down at a one badge trainer with what I'd like to say is the ace of your personal team." I shoot back. "My pokemon are going to be punching far above their weight class here. That means we can't pull any punches. Your own arrogance will be your undoing."

"Big words." The rockstar scoffs. "Toxic. Use Shift Gear!"

Ah. Shit.

The pokemon tenses, its body seems to hiss and steam, with a sudden blast of speed it lunges forwards, Nyx seems to freeze up, her eyes growing wide.

"Duck." I order harshly.

The transformed Zorua follows my orders without a moment of hesitation, ducking a fist cloaked in chilled air that would have struck her in the face, she punches up, but the foe disappears with a blast of speed, reappearing behind her.

'Is this the speed average pokemon can reach?! Fucking hell, how do you even get close to legendary pokemon, then?'

"Shadow Sneak."

My own faux Toxtricity sinks into the floor, avoiding a burning punch.

'Alright, it knows thunder punch, fire punch, and ice punch. Then gear shift.

Long claws rocket up from the floor, swiping at the poison type gym leader's pokemon, but it quickly gains some distance, avoiding the attack entirely.

"Boom burst!" Roxie shouts and she strums once loudly on her bass guitar.

The toxtricity cocks its head back and lets out a guttural roar which sounds similar to the loud shredding Roxie was doing a moment ago, floor tiles are lifted and blown in all directions as waves of solid sound continue to shoot off in waves.

The dark shadow, near invisible in this darkened room's battlefield, snakes up towards the electric pokemon.

Boom Burst is normal type.

Nyx leaps from the floor, one of her fists cocked back, her knuckles darken and as the toxtricity's eyes widen, her attack striking it in the face.

It is tossed aside like a ragdoll, letting out a surprised gurgle as it bounces off the floor and rolls a short distance, it lands, looking absolutely feral, on all fours, mouth sparking.

Nyx has quite the special ability... instead of merely transforming into an illusion of pokemon, her illusions are just a little more real.

It's akin to a ditto, where it copies the target's statistics. However, unlike a ditto, it doesn't gain the ability the target pokemon might have, plus she is more or less limited to her own move pool... with the exception of typically one or two moves chosen at random.

The fact that she gains any moves at all gives her quite the interesting little ability to learn practically anything.

If she copies a Charizard and repeatedly uses a flamethrower, it's theoretically possible that she'd eventually retain the ability to use it in her base form despite the fact that Zorua cannot learn flamethrower.

This gets a little interesting when she copies me.

There's no way for her to copy my extremis bullshit in her base form... but Haki?

That's something that's entirely possible.

Muscle memory of those abilities gained over the course of the past three weeks or so has made her able to call upon a fairly potent Armament and Observation Haki.

Not at the level of my own, by all means, at least for Observation Haki, but still pretty decent.

Now, this ability sounds completely kickass, right? She's basically a ditto in fluffy skin, right? What's stopping her from copying Arceus and being a god?

There's a problem. It completely dissipates after a single hit. Then there's the aftermath.

Her energy is sapped based on how strong the form she takes is.

She has been practicing with me, so she can withstand quite a bit, but with something on this level, I fully expect her to get knocked unconscious after even a single love tap.

Regardless of the fact that the illusion tanks the hit like a mimikyu's disguise.

The foe seems to exert even more power into its shift gear and disappears.

'holy shit.'

I need to teach Magni that move.

If Cyclizar can learn it, reasonably he should be to.

I see Nyx freeze up again. It's more than likely her Haki is telling her that an attack is coming from everywhere so it's making her a little unsettled.

"Step left Twist right."

A punch narrowly misses her torso.

"Bend back."

A lashing leg swipes just over her center of mass.

"Roll into handspring."

The transformed Zorua falls onto the floor, bending its body and rolling, placing its three-fingered hands on the floor and pushing off of it, avoiding a large bolt of lightning as she lands a short distance away.

"Punch. Five O-clock."

Nyx whirls on a dime, fighting type energy and haki swirling around her left fist.

But I underestimated the reaction speed of Roxie's pokemon, their fists are set to collide and Nyx is already committed to it, I can't tell her to avoid it because if she does, she'll just be hit regardless.

"Punch hex." I order.

*CRACK*

The punches collide with a loud explosion, Nyx' transformed state becoming see through.

That doesn't stop Roxie's toxtricity from poison jabbing through the illusion twice, eyes widening as its hand passes completely through it.

Nyx, looking slightly haggard, opens her mouth.

*BOOM*

The lightning mohawked pokemon lets out a weak grunt as it is struck by ghost type energy, the attack dealing even further damage as the blue embers which never truly vanished explode into massive balls of fire, only to nearly snuff out once more.

I hold out Nyx's pokeball and return her, a little surprised that she was still standing.

'OH! She had been using drain punch! She must have recovered a majority of her spent stamina!'

"Challenger Xander has chosen to substitute his Zorua, using up his one switch in this battle!" The referee declares.

I smirk at the poison type gym leader. "Pretty rad, huh?"

She grinds her teeth, eyebrow twitching. "Are you going to summon your next pokemon yet?"

"What's the hurry?" I question with a lazy smile, watching the embers of Nyx's Will-o-Wisp flare up and dissipate again. "I've got a league mandated minute on selecting my next pokemon."

"But oh, what should I pick? I just can't decide."

"UGH! YOU'RE SUCH A FUCKIN' COWARD-"

"You're using what I would like to call elite-four level pokemon on a guy who started his gym circuit five weeks ago." I blandly observe. "With gear shift, your Toxtricity there could very well be comparable to some of Champion Iris' reserve pokemon, provided it's your ace which considering your whole punk aesthetic I'm fairly certain I'm right on the money. If I want even a small chance of victory I have to use everything to my advantage. Something I wouldn't have had to do if you had just used like... I don't know, maybe your fourth badge team for me?"

I look to my watch and grab a pokeball. "Ah well. Fun chat. Ten, Nine, Eight."

"Annnnd this one." I declare as I summon my next pokemon with a flash of red light waiting till the two second mark.

The Hisuian Growlithe looks around, lowering itself to the ground and letting out a low snarl as it cautiously looks to the Toxtricity who, while looking almost completely fine on the outside is almost certainly beginning to tire.

"This guy's tough, Surtur. Be on your guard." I call out.

"GROWLITHE!"

"BEGIN!"

"Toxic! Use Poison Jab!" Roxie shouts.

The pokemon disappears, becoming nothing more than a blur... a noticeably slower blur, but still something I genuinely have no faith that Surtur can dodge.

So, he'll tank that not very effective poison type attack and strike back with his own, something I don't fully expect to deal that much damage, but death by a thousand cuts and all that.

"Flamewheel." I call out.

A purple fist smashes into Surtur's side, causing him to let out a low whine mid-frontflip, flames lick at the arms of the poison type as Surtur is knocked aside, he limps to his feet and lowers his body, glaring hatefully forwards.

That did a shocking amount of damage for a resisted type. Wasn't it also being weakened by burn, exhaustion, hex and two drain punches?

My eyes widen as I realize where he had just been sent towards.

The area where the boomburst threw aside the floor tiles and exposed the earth below.

"Dig." I order.

"STOP HIM!" Roxie shouts.

Surtur begins downwards, causing Roxie's pokemon to lunge forwards, as it reaches the hole, a spray of dirt strikes it in the face, causing it to briefly hesitate its downwards swipe that thuds into the empty dirt.

Almost instantly Surtur breaks free from the earth and lunges for the poison type pokemon's open back.

It promptly does a backflip and kicks the rock-type mid-air, sending him flying away where he lands roughly.

He writhes for a moment, seemingly trying to get back up, but eventually relents and falls unconscious.

"Challenger Xander's Growlithe is unable to battle."

I let out a quiet sigh. "Well, you did about as well as you could, Surtur."

I tap my chin. "Hmmm... now who do I use?"

"YOU'VE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!" The gym leader roars.

"Defeating an extremely experienced pokemon is tough. It's roughly the equivalent of you going out and picking a fight with a legendary pokemon. You really need to think these things through. Ponder how you could win. Run through all the advantages you and your pokemon hold over your target, such as type advantages, move pools, abilities, a minute of time to waste per pokemon sent out. You've got to really use all you've got!" I smile brightly.

"Go! Azi!"

With a flash a humongous Deino appears on the field, giving the rockstar brief pause.

"What the hell?" She quietly mutters.

His head slowly rises as he looks around, eyes straying the large bleachers at the edge of the room, he lets out a low snort as his gaze slowly falls on the poison electric type.

"That's your foe, Azi. He's already taken our Surtur and nearly Nyx. Be careful"

"Deiiino." The dragon growls as he rises to his full height, looming over Toxtricity.

"BEGIN!"

"Ice Punch!" Roxie orders.

Toxtricity lunges forwards, fist drawn back.

"Protect." I calmy order. "Dragon Rage."

A bubble appears around the large dragon type, purplish energy forming in the back of its throat as Toxtricity nears.

As my future sight foretold, the barrier doesn't hold up, but... all of the attack's energy and momentum is lost as the pokemon plows through it, looking genuinely surprised at how durable that barrier was.

A wave of energy shoots forwards engulfing the poison type as it begins to back up.

It skids to a halt about twenty feet back, body smoking, letting out a panting breath for a couple of moments as it seems to regain its composure.

Its breathing returns to its steady pace as it lunges forwards again.

"Duck." I order.

Azi is punched in the face by the far faster poison type, his body snaps to the side as his feet are lifted from the ground, he lands with a loud thud, a weak growl echoing out as he lays there for a moment.

"Challenger Xander's Deino is-"

The deino stands back up, a low, furious hissing growl echoing out from its throat.

*BOOM*

A dragon rage strikes where the toxtricity was standing moments before.

A dark pulse tracks it as it flanks the large dragon, kicking up a cloud of dust and destroying floor tiles, fire flickers in Azi's mouth as Roxie's pokemon lunges close.

A second ice punch strikes Azi's head, this time in the chin, closing his jaw and knocking him flat on his back, canceling out his fire fang.

"Challenger Xander's Deino is unable to battle."

I let out another sigh as I raise a pokeball and return him without another word.

I look in between my remaining pokemon.

Nyx is tired, and while her ghost typing would give her a good ability to run, I don't think she could compete with this pokemon in its current state, it's too fast for her. Gaia could easily outlast it with her armor, but I don't necessarily want to reveal that card quite yet, Magni, while strong, would probably be defeated and I don't really have a dossier made for him yet despite me using him at the Aspertia gym. The only people who saw him were the referee, Cheren, Zinnia and Courtney. I'll do that when I get back home.

That just leaves Loki, huh?

I look to my watch.

'Five. Four. Three'

I grab Loki's pokeball and summon him.

With a flash a black Eevee appears on the battlefield, he looks around slowly and bares his teeth, crouching as with a flash a ghostly white Espeon with a blue forehead marble appears

"Alright Loki. Are you ready to play some advanced keep-away?"

"Es-pe-on!" The fox chirps as he lowers his body slightly, ready to leap away at a moments notice.

"BEGIN!" The referee shouts as Roxie's pokemon lunge forwards.

"Warp. Tk." I order.

Loki disappears with a flash and reappears behind his foe, his eyes glow as the poison type is struck by an extremely violent shove from psychic power, which causes the bipedal poison type's feet to sink into the floor, it lets out a low growl as it falls onto all fours, struggling with the weight of the super effective move.

It's extremely unlikely that it would be rendered immobile by this if it hadn't been struggling with a will-o-wisp burn for the past six or seven minutes, not to mention the numerous other blows it has taken from my team.

"Shit! Toxic! Use Snarl! Gear Shift!"

It turns its head and with a roar a large purple wave of sound rushes for Loki.

He, of course, teleports out of the way, but that gives the Toxtricity ample time to rocket to its feet and activate gear shift again, disappearing with a blur of movement.

"TAKEDOWN!" Roxie screams as Loki reappears, her pokemon already charging right for him, having predicted where he would have appeared after his teleportation.

"Take it." I order, causing the gym leader's eyes to almost bug out of her head.

A moment before the attack hits... the espeon is replaced with an Eevee.

Loki is thrown across the arena, loudly thudding against the floor and skipping as he rolls to a halt nearly forty feet away from where the attack landed.

It was a genuinely crushing blow that silences the audience...

That's what makes it all the more sweet when Loki simply picks himself up, shakes his body like he had just climbed out of water, then bounces on his paws in a slight circular pattern, letting out a mocking laugh. "Eev-e-vee-vee!"

"Loki. Show her how it's done." I smirk.

He disappears, this time not through teleportation, but through sheer speed.

Extreme speed.

"Wh-" Roxie whispers as she looks to her own pokemon wince under the recoil of takedown.

Loki appears yet again, far too close for the rival pokemon to dodge, moments before contact, the move changes into takedown, the small black Eevee striking the much larger pokemon like a little cannonball, causing spittle to fly from its mouth as it is physically picked up off the ground. It flips through the air, landing roughly a short fifteen feet away as it bounces once and rolls onto its stomach, the pokemon picks itself up with a wince as Loki looks utterly uninjured. His fur is just lightly frazzled.

"What the hell?" Roxie whispers, sounding genuinely gob smacked at what my little Eevee had done.

Toxtricity falls to a knee as fire flickers along its body, shakily rising back up to its feet as it glares.

"B-BOOM BURST!" The gym leader orders, sounding genuinely worried.

Loki just stands there. Menacingly. The normal type energy washing over him and doing nothing more than ruffling his fur as he flattens his ears back. In fact, he appears even more energized, bouncing in place like an excited child.

"Double Swift." I order.

The Toxtricity lunges forwards with a roar, his trainer telling him to knock Loki out with an ice punch.

I could easily have Loki turn into a Glaceon, but that would reveal another card that I can use in the future.

For now, they just know Loki can assume his Espeon form and return back to an Eevee. His other forms are likely to be overlooked as everyone is distracted by his altered appearance and ability to tank incredible blows.

Some may theorize that if he returns to an Eevee he could be given a fire stone or something like that, but I won't be showing anything like that until I really need to.

Espeon is more than enough.

The poison type's chilled fist passes through an afterimage, its head turns just in time to see a hail of stars smack into its body and explode.

"Finish it with a Tk." I order.

With a flash Loki turns back into an Espeon, the poison type's body gripped in a vice-like psychic grip and getting slammed into the floor, he's picked up and physically thrown across the arena, landing in a heap before Roxie.

The ground rumbles as two large hunks of earth are ripped from the ground, each roughly the size of a four-door car, they just hang there as Loki waits for his target to stand up.

He doesn't.

"Gym Leader Roxie's Toxtricity is unable to battle! Victory goes to challenger Xander Welsh."

The rockstar falls to her knees as Loki slowly places the hunks of earth back where he found them.

"W-What?" She whispers, looking genuinely crushed by her loss. "What just happened? How did I lose?"

I doubt Loki could have manhandled a pokemon from her personal team without it being weakened beforehand. With gear shift, It was fast enough that it's likely that it could have covered the distance of a teleport in the time it took for Loki to finish his charge-up.

Clearly, the MVP of this battle, was Nyx. Followed by Loki. But both Surtur and Azi did as well as they could have.

They're just not ready to enter slugfests with fully evolved pokemon.

Loki runs over to me and turns back into his Eevee state, leaping once and landing on my shoulder.

I give his head a small scratch as I look to Roxie who has her head in her hands and turn off the microphone.

The referee walks over, a man with a shaved head and sunglasses. Yes, sunglasses indoors when the battlefield is already a good several shades darker than outside. "Gym leader Roxie is... indisposed right now. So, I present to you the TM for Venoshock and your five thousand Poke cash prize! That was a heck of a battle. Sort of sucks you had to use underhanded means to win it, but I mean, what else could you have done?"

"That was pretty much my thought process." I agree with a slow nod. "Tell her that I'm sorry about that, but I can't afford to lose right now."

He nods once as I hand him the microphone, then turn around and walk out, giving Loki another scritch on the chin, my destination the pokemon center.

Well. That's Badge 2 secured and an arrogant gym leader put in her place. On her knees before XANDER!

Muahahah!

Surely Cynthia won't hunt him down for more details on his pokemon, right?

Right?

Connor J. Fowler: Naaah she's a prideful woman... that comes later!

Guest 001: That's a secret, but I've already decided what it's going to be.

JustAFan123: to be fair, as an 'Evil Team Admin' it's likely that Courtney has some form of psychic defense. Beyond... yknow... the obious defenses she as a person would have, of course.

Guest 002: So would YOU willingly go out and face a Gyarados of tremendous size?

Anon: To be completely fair, this digimon IS a pokemon as it was crafted with some Porygon data.

Reader 451: You've just got to make sure the bear (Or pokemon in this scenario) don't know how to use Kung-fu.

Guest 003 (TrumpasaurusRex): hi, yes. It appears I have blocked you. Don't worry dear friend, I'm not 'sensitive little bitch'. I have only blocked three people in my staggering like... five years on this website! If you are one of those three, perhaps it's not an issue with me and it is an issue with YOU. Considering my most recent block, and the context of all my previous blocks which I remember, the second most recent being roughly 4 months ago being either the guy who kept sending me paragraph after paragraph of YOUR (Mary sue as hell) Oc(s) even after I told you as nicely as possible that I wouldn't write about them, or the one where you casually started insulting me and blocked me before I could respond, none of those really match 'critique' so I'm going to assume that you are one Mr. 'TrumpasaurusRex'.

Allow me to make one thing blatantly clear. Out of ALL of the fanfiction writers I have spoken to... NOBODY values your constructive criticism. Hell, it shouldn't even be CALLED constructive criticism. You casually enter a fic. Read one chapter. List an inane reason why you don't like it, typically something YOU misunderstood about the story, then list a simple 'dropped'. You went through each and every single one of my fanfictions in the span of about two hours and did the exact same thing. One chapter. 'waaah system' 'waaah character' 'Dropped'. All of your reviews are like this. And want to know the best part? You close your Pms so Authors can't tell you what an annoying cunt you are being. Or, god forbid, take your 'critiques' to heart and want to start a dialogue with you.

You sir will remain blocked. Sorry, not sorry.

Anyways, sorry for that little rant! I'll see you all later!
