Chapter 4: Legion Of Moths

Killer Moth was continuing to follow the trail of the giant moths he just witnessed. This would go a lot faster if his wings didn't run out of fuel before he got here. Otherwise, he could just fly to follow the winged monstrosities. Eventually, he was able to see the giant insects in view as he surprisingly caught up fast enough to them. He saw them coming up on a large cave where they flew inside and out of sight into the darkness. After they flew in, he came upon the cave and stood outside the entrance. He hesitated to go inside as he was now having doubts about the crazy idea he had about somehow getting these monsters to follow him back to Gotham just so they could help him establish a good name for himself and so that he would be labeled as more of a threatening villain. "What am I doing? I'm more likely to get myself killed rather than get these things to be on my side. Well, I came all this way. If they attack me, I better be ready to run like Hell.", Moth said to himself while standing outside the cave entrance. He gathered his courage and went inside the gigantic cave. It was completely dark, and he could not see a thing. However, he did hear lots of light buzzing and wing fluttering. In order to brighten up the place, he took out a light stick which he stole from the Ratcatcher and became alarmed at what he saw. There had to be hundreds of giant moths inside the cave which were all over the cave walls and bunched together. The moths immediately took notice to the light that had begun to shine bright in their lair and were drawn to it right away. Some of them started to come towards it and were unaware at first of the figure holding the stick. "Stay back!", Moth demanded in terror. They all caught a glimpse of who was talking and because of his insect-like helmet, they almost immediately thought he was one of them, so they did what he asked, and they stopped charging at him. He was surprised that they seemed to listen to him and started to not be in fear as much. "Stay where you are!", he told them. They also seemed to listen to that command as each one stayed where they were whether it was still being on the wall or flying in midair. His confidence started to grow as they still appeared to be listening to his commands. "I see you are all drawn to this light. I know how much moths love the light. I should know as I'm something of a moth myself.", he said as he began to talk to them. "What if I told you all that I know of a place where there is light everywhere? A city where there is light in every window and building as far as your insect eyes can see! I can give you all the light you can possibly imagine! All I ask of you is to follow me and do whatever I ask!", he told them. The moths understood every word he said and also seemed willing to obey him. In response to what he said, The ones who were in midair came to the ground bowed in front of and the ones who were on the cave wall came off and did the same. The lesser villain was in disbelief that they actually seemed to obey him and were willing to follow him. For once in his life, he felt strong and great. He now knew that his plan to get the big score and for Gotham City to finally take him through the help of these creatures would actually come to fruition. Underneath his helmet, he had a sinister grin spread across his face that would no doubt lead to no good. "Very good. In order to get to this place, I might need to get a little help from someone around here who can tell me more about what this can do.", he said as he took out the crystal from his pocket. He then turned to his new army and said, "But I give you all my word, I will keep my promise that you will see all the light you could ever want.".
