The Shadow S1

For the record I do not own the Arrowverse or Locke and Key.

Anything from Locke and Key that is my idea will have an asterisk next to it.

So please don't sue.

Prologue

Earth 5- Lian Yu- August 30, 2012

A fishing boat was spotted in the distance. 2 men, one in a green hood and one in a black hood were running towards a campsite on the beach below. The green hood sets his bow while his companion had a flaming arrow, which is fired into a pile of sticks. This sets off an explosion, which alters the fishermen and makes them stop the engines, drop anchor, and come ashore on a lifeboat.

The Chinese fishermen came to the campsite and found the two men on their knees.

Chinese fisherman: "Nimen liang ge shi shei"? (Who are you two?)

The two men pushed back their hoods to reveal identical faces, yet one with blonde hair and one with brown. The brown-haired man responded in mandarin.

Sean:Our names are Sean and Oliver Queen. Please help us.

The Chinese fisherman brought Sean and Oliver back to the boat. They were given hot tea and blankets. As they sat on the back of the boat watching the island get further away, the two brothers recalled the events of the last five years.

Oliver: "The island we were found is called Lian Yu. In mandarin it means "purgatory"".

Sean:My brother and I had been stranded there for 5 years. Until today we had lost hope of any kind of rescue.

Oliver: "For half a decade we've been focused on one thought, which was to survive and make it home".

Sean: "This accursed island possessed a great many dangers. For us to survive, my brother and I had to become strong (in my case stronger than a two-time Olympic gold medalist in mixed martial arts). Our plan was to make it home and cleanse the corruption that has plagued are city. We are the Queen Brothers".

Oliver looks at Sean and sees that he is deep in thought. Sean being the stronger and smart of, given the fact he graduated college at age 19 with a double doctorate in business and engineering, he wasn't really entuned with a lot of his emotions. However, Oliver could read his twin rather easily.

Oliver: "Sean what's wrong"?

Sean: "I'm just thinking about Sara. I loved her so much and I failed to keep her safe".

Oliver:"It's not your fault Sean. You didn't do anything wrong and…Sean cut Oliver off…Yes, it is. I'm the one who asked her to marry me two nights before the Gambit set sail and I'm the one who invited her aboard the yacht. So yes, it is my fault".

Oliver: Sean there was no possible way you could have known what was going to happen. As for your relationship, you and Sara had been together for 2 years prior to that. You kept it a secret to avoid the press and paparazzi. I mean I didn't even know about you two until that afternoon on the yacht, when I walked in on you two literally in the throes. Oliver grimaced as he brought that up.

Sean just rolled his eyes, "For the last damn time, you could have knocked instead of just walking into my cabin". Oliver looked at his brother, "The bottom line is Sean is that Sara wouldn't had been with you all that time and agreed to marry you if she didn't love you. I doubt she ever regretted falling in love with you. What I need to be concerned about is Laurel believing that I was cheating on her with Sara". Sean sighed, "Oliver I'm sure Mrs. Lance will set the record straight. I mean she thought the same thing when she caught Sara leaving to go on the Gambit, until I showed up. That's we she realized that Sara was with me, and we told Mrs. Lance everything including about the engagement". Oliver looked at Sean, "I hope so. Plus, we have a lot of work to do to correct dad's wrongs". Sean knew this, but he had information that Oliver didn't know.

The night before their father died Sean asked him if he knew who would want to put a bomb on the Gambit. On his way back to his cabin, Sean felt and heard an explosion. Having helped the crew maintain the boat he knew that the engine couldn't have blown. Robert Queen the 3rd told Sean that Malcolm Merlyn had the most motive. He then proceeded to tell Sean about Malcolm's Undertaking and how he backed out. This gave Sean answers that he sought. He decided not to reveal this to Oliver after their father died.

Sean despite his high intellect cannot foresee what's going to happen in the long run when they get back. The one thing he knows for certain is that Malcolm Merlyn had committed an act of war against the Queen family, and he must die.
