Thank you all that read chapter 5. I really hope you enjoyed it.
The First Volley's Part 1
Queen Mansion-afternoon
Detective's Lance and Hilton had arrived to take statements from the three men. "This is your story? Two men in a green and black hood showed up and saved your asses?" Det. Lance asked skeptically. "Yes." Sean said. "We didn't see their faces either." Oliver stated. "Detective Lance, please my son's have told you everything they know. Now please leave my home." Moira said. "Mrs. Queen we are just trying to keep your family safe." Hilton argued. "Yes however, since Det. Lance has an axe to grind with one or both of my son's, I believe I would prefer to deal with you in the future Det. Hilton." Moira stated. Bothe detectives nodded and left the Mansion.
Sean asked Oliver to come to his room. Sean took his brother to his closet and used the Anywhere Key to take them to the forge. Oliver looked shocked at what he saw. Sean then explained to his brother about the keys and how they were made. Sean also explained about the Cosmic Forge, the tools, the cosmic materials, the computer core, and the Palantir. "Well Sean I am impressed. Is this how you made the engagement rings?' Sean nodded. "All this stuff will be very useful to our crusade." "Yes, Oliver it will". Sean explained how they will create their suits using the forge. He tells his Oliver that on another Earth there is a vigilante known as Black Lighting. He has a suit that is made entirely out of nanites and it fits into a watch on his wrist. Sean intends to use the cosmic forge to create the watches that do the same thing for them, but there will be some improvements. Take the best features from every armor that has existed throughout the Cosmos and combine them together including fictional armors. The suits will be heat, water, radiation, dirt, weather, shock, magic, and bulletproof. The suits will protect them from all forms of harm. The only thing that can injure or kill them when these suits are deployed is a weapon made from the Cosmic Forge or blessed by God himself. The is made possible because the nanites will be made of Cosmic Metal (titanium, adamantium, and mithril to name a few). Just like the forge the metal has been consecrated to the same extent. The magic aspect of the suits will allow the brothers to become invisible and intangible so they can walk through walls and not be seen. They will not be detected by any means of surveillance. The suits will be equipped with a shackled A.I. that allows them to break into in security and computer system. The A.I. also includes a translation matrix that not only contains a database of all languages (extinct, alien, fictional, or otherwise) but also is able to translate new languages in mere seconds. The neural in interface connects to the visual, audio, and speaking portions of the brain, even when the suit isn't deployed. So as long the watch is on the wearer can use the translation matrix. The A.I. also has a heads-up display in eye mask portion of the suits. The display allows the wearer to see in infrared and see in total darkness. It also monitors vitals and allows for secure communications. The nanite based construct of the suits will dematerialize any weapons and other items when it's returned to the watch and the opposite when its redeployed. The suits are powered by the molecules around them and the wearer's bioelectricity.
Sean uses the Conjuring Key to make his version of Dr. Brown's presto logs from Back to the Future 3. The Cosmic Presto Logs are compressed Cosmic Wood and Cosmic Anthracite dust, treated with Cosmic Chemicals to burn hotter and longer. The Cosmic materials are also consecrated to same extent as everything else to create the Cosmic Flame (Hellfire, Holy Fire, Heavenly fire, The Living Flame, and the fire of the Forge at Jotunheim to name a few). Sean places the logs in the furnace and lights them. He proceeds to conjure the Cosmic metal the same way. When the metal has melted, he pours it into a mold for the watch. Sean then concentrates on how what he wants the metal to become. Once that is done, he slices his right hand and drips his blood into the metal. Then he takes the mold with some tongs and tempers it in Cosmic water. Sean removes the mold from the water and opens it. The watch looks exactly like his ordinary watch. Sean puts it on and turns the watch display forward. Almost immediately the nanites swarm up and down his arm. It takes about 5 seconds and Sean is covered in a suit with a hood. The suit is pitch black and you cannot see his face (think Oliver's suit from the show but it's black).
Oliver looked in awe. "Sean this is awesome." Sean nodded and spoke with distorted voice. "Yes, I'm sorry I kept this from you and Thea. But given your shared wild behavior I really did what I thought was right." Oliver nodded in agreement. Sean went over to the cabinet and retrieved the memory key from the chest. "What's that?" Oliver inquired. "This is the Memory Key. For some reason with this type of magic you forget it when you turn 18 and if you see it after 18 your memory will be erased. I made this key to change that rule." Sean had Oliver open his shirt and Sean used the key and Oliver (just like Sean and Sara before him) gained the ability to remember this type of magic. Sean then proceeded to disengage the Shadow Suit. He went over to the forge and proceeded to make his quiver, an arrow, a bow, and a sword and scabbard. The magic properties of the quiver made sure he had an unlimited supply of arrows. The arrow contained the power of every weapon and the benefits of being made in the Cosmic Forge. The Shadow sword and bow the same thing.
Following Sean's instructions Oliver did the same thing except make a sword and scabbard, and his suit is green. Sean explained that since the suit and weapons are meant for your use they have be linked to. That's why Oliver had to make his suit and weapons himself and add his blood to the molten metal. "Sean, you mention the fire from the forge at Jotunheim. What is the point of that?" Oliver asks. "In the Viking: Battle for Asgard your final opponent on the last level is Hel, Goddess of the Underworld. Your character is mortal. So, before the finale fight your character needs to take their sword to the forge at Jotunheim. When the sword is reforged it will now have the power to kill Gods." Sean explained. "You're saying that our weapons have the power to kill Gods?" Oliver asked. "Not just our weapons. When the suit is engaged if one of us was to snap an immortal's neck like I did with that thug today, it would be as though we were snapping a mortal's neck. It doesn't give us the strength to kill Gods, just the ability to do so." Sean explained. Oliver nodded that he understood. "Sean what about our hands? People will notice that we have sliced palms." Oliver stated. Sean smirked and engaged his suit, when it was finished, he disengaged the suit, and his right palm was completely healed with out any scar. "If get injured when the suit is disengaged the nanites will repair any damage. But the injuries need to be new." Sean explained. Oliver used his suit to heal his hand and the brothers left the cave. By now it was 3:30pm.
The Brothers came back to the living room to see their mother talking to two people. One was a dark-skinned man with a military style haircut and the other was a Caucasian brunette woman. The man was dressed in a black suit while the woman was dressed in black leather jacket, a white shirt that strained against her c-cup breasts, and black jeans which hugged her curves. They were standing like soldiers before their general. "I wasn't aware we were having guests today mom." Sean stated. "Mr. Sean and Oliver Queen, I'm John Diggle." the man greets the Brothers. "I'm Dinah Drake." the woman added. "Oliver, Mr. Diggle will be your bodyguard and Ms. Drake will by yours Sean." Moira said. "Mom, we can take care of ourselves. Plus went spent five years on an island." Oliver stated. "I want my sons to be safe." Moira states. "Mom, you know I don't trust bodyguards. Bodyguards can be bought for the right price. I've known this since I was three. That's why I asked dad to let train in mixed martial arts. I was taught by the best teachers in the world (Talia al Ghul being one of them) so I can defend myself and the fact I won a lot of competitions including an Olympic Gold Medal twice was just a bonus." Sean said. Dinah and John looked impressed with Sean's accomplishments. "It's not up for discussion." Moira says putting her foot down. She leaves the room, and the brothers look at their bodyguards. "So, what do we call you" Oliver asks. "Dig is fine." "Dinah is good. I'm sorry for your loss Mr. Sean." Dinah noticed the Claddagh ring hanging on a chain around his neck. Sean realizing what she is talking about looks down at the ring and then back at Dinah. "Thank you and I'm sorry for your loss as well." Sean noticed she had a ring on a chain around her neck as well.
Diggle explained how he did two tours in Afghanistan and Dinah explained how she worked for Central City Police Department since she was 18 until a year ago (Hint Hint). As Diggle was explaining that his and Dinah's ability to keep either of them safe will far outweigh their comfort level, the Queen Brothers ditched their bodyguards. Once they made sure they weren't being followed, Sean and Oliver went to their father's factory. "The abduction wasn't expected, we must accelerate our plans." They chose to set up their base of operations in the basement of the factory.
Oliver and Sean set up the equipment: a military grade computer, stands for training weapons, a salmon ladder and other equipment. When they were finished Sean pulled out a notebook with different names from his crate. "What we told the police is true. Two men in hoods were there. They're crusade has just begun." Using a practice bow, quiver, arrow, and some tennis balls Oliver practice his archery. Throwing all the tennis ball in the air, he fired his bow at each ball with complete accuracy. When he was finished all the tennis balls were pinned against the wall. He turned to his brother. Sean picked up his own practice bow and did the same thing but at much greater speed and accuracy. Then he had a tennis ball machine shoot him and with a sword he sliced all of them in half. While Sean was practicing, Oliver looked at the notebook. "The Queen Brothers came back to Starling City with a mission. Before our father died, he asked us to right his wrongs and gave this notebook. It contains a list of names of people who are poisoning our city. People like Adam Hunt."
Sean pulled up information on Adam Hunt on the computer. "Hunt has stolen money from several innocent people, committed many levels of embezzlement, as well as multitude of other crimes. Using intimation, bribery, and murder to get his way. He hasn't met either of us." After studying Hunt's profile and what he spent his money on: art, cars, alcoholic drinks, etc. Sean being the strategist/tactical/leadership genius, when it comes to fighting, politics (diplomacy and corporate) and the art of negotiation of Grand Admiral Thrawn's caliber, has determined that Hunt not only liked expensive things but was possessive of them on an OCD level. Sean had determined that destruction of one of these prized possessions would do well to shake Hunt on a psychological level and wound his pride on a far greater level than any intimidation by them. The Brothers twisted their watches and engaged their suits. The Shadow and the Arrow went after Hunt.
On the fourth floor of a parking garage Adam Hunt was yelling at an employee of his. "You remind "Honorable" Grell that I put him on the bench and I can remove him from it. I'll make an example out of him and you if you don't do what I say." "Yes sir." said the employee. "Also this attorney Laurel Lance, you said she wasn't going to be a problem anymore. Deal with it." Hunt added. In that moment an arrow shot out one of the lights in the parking garage. All other lights were shot out as well. A green pierced the chest of the man to Hunt's right. Hunt's bodyguards realized what was going on grabbed their weapons. One fired into the garage. "You missed." A voice in the shadows said to their left. A mixture of green and black arrow took down Hunt's bodyguards. Hunt had managed to get into his car and was cowering inside. The sunroof above him broke, he was pulled up and was face to face with a man in green hood, while a man in black hood pulled a black sword from the scabbard on his back and held the blade to Hunt's throat. Their faces were completely shrouded by the shadows of their hoods. "Woah, woah, woah! Just tell me what you want!" Hunt quivered with fear. The man holding the sword proclaimed "Adam Hunt you have failed this city! You're going to transfer $50 million to Starling City bank account 1141 by 10:00pm tomorrow night." He proclaimed. "Or what?" "Or we'll take it and you won't like how." The green hooded man said. They dropped Hunt back into his car and they jumped off. Hunt foolishly got out of his car and walked after them. "If I see you two again you're both dead!" Hunt yelled at them. The black hooded man turned fired an arrow through Hunt's car window. Hunt looked at his car and then looked back at the archers only to find them gone. As his back was turned his car blew up as if a few grenades went off inside. Turning around and seeing that his car was damaged beyond repair, Hunt fell to his knees. "NOOOOO! MY CARRRRR!" Hunt yelled and the started ranting like mad man. Just like Sean had predicted Hunt would, seeing as with most men Hunt treasured his car the most.
Back at their base Oliver and Sean felt proud of themselves. However, Oliver didn't understand why Sean's arrow blew up and why he destroyed Hunt's car. Sean reminded Oliver the arrows have the power of every weapon; it really mattered on the wielder's intent. When he fired the arrow into the car, he intended for the arrow explode after Hunt looked back to see that they were gone. With the magical properties of the arrow only Hunt's car sustained damage. Nothing in the surrounding area of the car including people was harmed by the explosion. As for why he destroyed the car, he wanted to shake Hunt on a psychological level. Sean explained what he determined after studying Hunt's profile and spending that destroying the car would accomplish that. Oliver nodded, knowing what kind strategist his brother was, especially after having to fight off the inmates of the island, a least the ones who were truly guilty. However, Oliver believed the destroying Hunt's car was going too far. Oliver is starting to worry about Sean. He knew how brutal his brother had to be on the island, but they weren't on the island anymore. Oliver knew he had to keep an eye on his brother and if necessary, stop from going too far. The Queen Brothers called it night and went home.
"I'm telling it was two men, one in a green hood and one in black. They had bow and arrows, while the black had a sword. They put all the employees with me at the time in the hospital and the black one destroyed my FERRARI!" Hunt exclaimed to the police detectives in his office the next day. The detectives looked at him skeptically. "You don't believe do you!" Hunt exclaimed as a statement more than a question. "Thank you, Mr. Hunt. We'll put out an APB for Robin Hood and The Shadow?" Det. Lance said. Hunt glared at him. "Look Detective, I'm not some poor bystander that was mugged in The Glades. I go to the front of the line. The Green one said they will be here at 10:00 tonight. Make sure you arrive first. You can coordinate with my new head of security Drake Hahn." Hunt indicated the man in the back of the room. "Thanks for your time." Det. Lance said. He and his partner left. "Looks like the Queen Brothers were telling the truth." Hilton said. "First time for everything at least in Oliver's case." Lance said as they entered the elevator. "Sean has never been a troublemaker. Sara made the right choice when she chose to marry Sean." Hilton looked at his partner in shock. "Yeah. Sara was on the yacht with Sean. They had been together for almost 2 years prior to that and two nights before the Gambit left, they got engaged. Given what type of man Sean is I would be damn proud to have him marry Sara. But what burns me up is that my ex-wife knew Sara was there with Sean and said nothing." Lance stated. Hilton looked confused. "Why didn't she say something?" "That doesn't matter anymore. What's passed has passed." Lance said.
Later that evening the Brothers came out to the car. Oliver opened the back door to see John sitting in the back and Dinah was behind the wheel. Sean got in the passenger seat. "Put your seatbelts on gentlemen. Wouldn't want two to miss your party." Dinah said. They arrived at the party that was already in full swing. Tommy spotted them immediately. Ladies and gentlemen! The men of the hour! The Queen Brothers are back!" he shouted. He led them to a table where they were given a glass of tequila. Oliver drank his and shouted, "I missed tequila!" and the party began again.
Across the street Adam Hunt was getting more stressed and paranoid by the second. "Remember anything that moves shoot to kill!" Hunt looked at the party across the street. "What's going on over there?" Hahn looked at him. "It's a party for those brothers who were rescued form that island, Sean and Oliver Queen.
Back at the party, Tommy and Oliver were talking while Sean was listening, Sean and Oliver noticed that Thea was there, and she was getting handed drugs. The brothers looked at each other, Oliver nodded to Sean, Sean left to talk to Thea. When he reached her, she turned and smiled. "Hey Sean. This party is great!" Sean pulled her close. "Who let you in here?" "I think it was the person who said, -Right the way Ms. Queen-." "I mean what are you doing here?" Thea's face fell. "Sean I'm not 12 anymore." "True, but your seventeen." "Sean, you don't get to come back from the dead and pass judgement on me. Especially for being just like Oliver and you didn't judge him." "That's where you are wrong Thea, I did judge Oliver. I understand things haven't been easy for you while we were away" Thea cut him off. "Away?! No, you too died along with dad! I went to your funerals!" Sean began to speak but Thea wasn't finished. "Don't say you know! Mom had Walter and I had no one! Do you hear me?! NO ONE!" Sean reached out to comfort her, but she smacked his hand away. By now Laurel had arrived, she was deep in conversation with Oliver and Tommy. Oliver looked to siblings and saw things were getting hostile. Laurel, Tommy, John, and Dinah saw this as well. Each one of them contemplated if they should intervene. "You and Oliver act like it's cool, like we should just forget the last five years!" Sean just stood there and listened. "I can't do that Sean! I'm sorry that I didn't turn out to be the model sister you wanted! I have been through hell so don't start will me because you don't what fuck your talking about!" Thea said.
The moment she said that a look of pure rage appeared on Sean's face, and he grabbed Thea by her arms where they meet her shoulders squeezing tight. Thea let out a small yelp. "You don't think I know what you are talking about little girl?! You are the one who has no idea what they are talking about!" The more he spoke the angrier he got, and his grip tightened. Thea tried to pull away, but he forced her to turn to face him and pulled her closer so he could hiss in her ear. "You didn't see dad shoot himself in the head so we can live! You didn't end up stranded on an island that the Chinese Government and its Asian-Pacific neighbors used to dump their worst criminals on. You didn't have to fight for your life and must resort to brutal measures, such as torture, killing, and put corpses up on pikes as a kind of psychological warfare to name few, to survive! You didn't see an ally who had become like another brother to you go mad, believe the word of some stranger, hang you up by chains so he put his dead girlfriends tattoo on your back, be forced to watch as he tortured your fiancée to death, and then be forced to kill him!" Thea had tears running down her face. She wasn't just sad/horrified for what her brothers had endure, but Sean's grip was getting tighter and it hurt. She saw Oliver, Laurel, and Tommy at the bar. She looked at them silently asking for help. The three made their way over. "You weren't the one who found out that you had a paternal half-sister, who father kicked to the curb, along with her mother, when she was 12 years old! You didn't have to hear how she knew, through her connections, that there was a bomb on the Gambit, and because dad rejected her again, she didn't tell him! You weren't the one who had to kill her on the island after the Japanese Government air dropped her there unleashing a chemical in the Tokyo subway system because she was hell bent on killing your entire family, so she could take what she believed was rightfully hers!" Thea's eyes widened in shock after hearing that. "So, no little girl, you don't know what hell is." Sean hissed in her ear.
"Sean let her go!" Oliver said. He, Tommy, and Laurel had made over to them. Sean looked at Oliver then back at Thea. Seeing the look of horror on her face snaped Sean back to his senses. "Thea, I'm sorry. God I'm so sorry." Thea nodded and embraced her brother. "It's okay Sean". Sean walked away after that Dinah and John had come over to the group. Dinah moved to follow Sean, but he just looked at her and she stayed put. "Oliver is it true what Sean said? About what happened to dad, what you two had to do to survive on the island, what the island was used for, about our half-sister, and the bomb on the Gambit?" the four with them looked at Thea in shock and then looked at Oliver. Oliver nodded. "Everything Sean told you was true Thea." The other four looked at her and Thea began to tell them everything that Sean told. By the time she was finished Tommy and John looked shocked, while Dinah, Laurel, and Thea had tears in their eyes. Laurel and Thea hugged Oliver and he returned the embrace. "Sean has yet to display any emotion until now. I believe ever since Sara died and he was forced to kill Emiko he been in stage one of grief: Denial. I suppose it had to do with the need to focus on survival. Now that he is home, I believe Sean is now entering stage two of grief: Anger. I'm worried about him. He will need our help and support if he is to get to the final stage of grief: Acceptance." They all nodded in agreement to help Sean.
While they were talking Sean had gone upstairs. He received an alert on his phone, the deadline for Hunt had passed. They had warned him. Now it's time to move forward. Making sure no one was watching; he engaged his suit. Going invisible and intangible he left the building, went across the street, and got in the elevator to Hunt's office. It's time to take him down!
A.N. Well this is part one. As you can tell Sean has issues. Will he get better? We shall see. In part two Adam Hunt along with Marcus Redmond and Martin Sommers will be dealt with. Please review and tell me what you think.
