Chapter 9: Shots Fired

Before Fredi could decide whether to agree with Nate's terms or not, a shot rang out. This caused Nate and his gang members to be startled. At the top of the stairs further back, Fredi could make out two people entering through a door that was now open.

"Ozzie, G!" Fredi realized. "How did you find me?"

"You had a tracker disguised as a Fazbear logo tramp stamp," Ozzie said, holding an ordinary handgun. "Fortunately, I reprogrammed the tracker while you were charging. So it only sends signals to my computer and no one else, Fredi."

"Nice to know the wayward animatronic we captured has human friends," Nate said sarcastically, taking his gun out and pointing it at Ozzie. "But you're no match for us."

To prove Nate's point, Patches whipped out his chain, Orson held up his metal pipe, and Hari waved her knife threateningly. Meanwhile, Hip backed away from the control panel with his hands up.

G didn't seem concerned and held up the gun he showed to Fredi earlier. "Even with your numbers, I still have this."

Seeing the gun, Nate flinched. "You must know a repairman to have a gun like that."

"I was an assistant repairman," G answered. "So after Fredi described his encounter with you guys, I knew you were the Melody models that escaped from the new Freddy's Cafe location a month ago. Your real names are Nedd Bear, El Chip, Happy Frog, Pigpatch, Orville Elephant, and Mr. Hippo."

Upon hearing the names G spoke, Nate, Chips, Hari, Patches, Orson, and Hip looked disgusted.

"We prefer not to use those names, thank you very much," Hari frowned. "And we're not going to be intimidated by a kid with a gun."

"That's right," Patches chimed in. "You may have the one type of gun that can truly kill us, but there's more of us than you and your buzzcut bitch."

Ozzie gritted his teeth and aimed his gun at Patches. "I'll show you who's the buzzcut bitch, you banjo-playing pig!"

In that moment, Nate and Ozzie's guns fired. While Patches was shot in the arm, causing him to drop his chain, Ozzie's shoulder was grazed by a bullet from Nate's gun. As both men reeled from the pain, G fired his gun at Nate.

Clear liquid poured out of Nate's head as the electric pulse from G's gun went straight through his forehead and out the back of his skull. He collapsed onto the floor, leaving the other animatronics in a state of shock.

"Now if you don't want to end up like your friend, I suggest you guys scram and never come back here," G said to the others.

Hari, Chips, Patches, and Orson stood their ground while Hip immediately took off through a hidden backdoor.

"I mean it!" G warned, firing a warning shot that flew past Chips' head.

However, the electric pulse scorched Orson's left ear. He ran away screaming in pain while Patches and Hari followed. Chips, on the other hand, calmly picked up Nate's body.

"You sure are one tough chico," Chips said to G. "I can tell you witnessed some crazy shit, and now you're trying to show the world how grown up you've become."

G wasn't amused. "You don't know anything about me, you damn robot."

"Sure, I may be a robot, but at least I'm willing to admit it," Chips argued. "You're just denying the trauma of your past by picking on things that aren't even human. But if so, why go through all this trouble to rescue one animatronic? Is there something special about him?"

"You sure talk a lot," G said, pointing his gun at Chips. "Maybe I should just shut you up for good, instead of letting you live."

"Fine, go ahead," Chips taunted. "I'll even turn my back to you."

As Chips walked to the backdoor his friends left through with Nate's body in tow, Fredi anxiously watched G, who kept his gun pointed at Chips. Yet no shots were fired, even when Chips was in the doorway.

"Looks like you have a heart after all, chico," Chips remarked, looking over his shoulder. "But you haven't seen the last of me and my gang."

Chips then dragged Nate's body through the door and slammed it behind him. After that, G walked down the stairs and released Fredi from the chair he was strapped to.

"What did they do to you?" Ozzie asked, putting his hand over his shoulder wound to stop the bleeding. "And what's wrong with your eyes? They were blue earlier, and now they're amber-colored."

Fredi got up and went to a mirror that was mounted on the wall. Indeed, his eyes were now amber. He then recalled sitting in front of a vanity mirror, and looking down at his stomach as a boy suddenly climbed out of it. The boy gave him a nervous look, having the same soft brown eyes that G had.

"G," Fredi said. "Your name…is it short for Gregory?"

At that moment, G's eyes widened.

"Where did you get that idea?" G asked.

"Recently, I got some of my memories back," Fredi explained. "I remember being one of the animatronics at Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, and I was protecting a small boy. His name was Gregory, and he was being hunted by the other animatronics for some reason."

"Did you recall these things before or after you murdered the mayoral candidate Roxana Lupine?" G questioned.

Fredi was surprised. "But I didn't murder her. At least, I don't think I did. She didn't have a pulse, but I don't have a pulse so—"

"Well, whether you actually murdered her or not, it's all over the news that someone killed Roxana Lupine," Ozzie interrupted. "The only clues are footprints shaped like the boots I gave you, and security footage of a big guy chasing Roxana. We immediately realized you were the guy and went looking for you, because the last thing we need is you going to jail since the police don't know anything about Fazbear's humanoid animatronics. But if what you say is true, Roxana was an animatronic too."

"She is," Fredi confirmed. "Her real name is Roxy Wolf."

"That doesn't explain why you attacked her," G pointed out.
