We were done with dinner right on time and walked the block and a half over to the venue for Jill's fashion show.

It was a bit chillier than I expected, so Trey took off his bomber jacket and wrapped it around my shoulders. It clashed with the black, knee-length sheath dress I was wearing but it provided the extra warmth I needed. The neckline on the dress was a bit lower on me now that I had gained a few pounds on my journey to lead a healthier life-style, and I think the added exposed skin aided to how cold I was feeling. Trey had a long-sleeve button-up under his bomber jacket and assured me that he was not feeling cold at all.

As soon as we walked into the venue, it felt like chaos. There were people everywhere, extremely loud music, and it was almost completely dark save for the lights illuminating the runway.

We made our way into the room and looked for available seats. We were able to find a row of 6 empty chairs on the third row, closest to the DJ booth on the far right side of the room. It was louder here than the rest of the room, which explained the empty seats.

Trey turned to me and said something, but I could not hear him.

"Huh?"

He leaned in close to speak in my ear. "Do you want to move?"

I shook my head, and spoke in his ear. "Everywhere else seems full."

He pulled away a bit to look at me and mouthed okay. Then for a split second, his eyes dropped to my lips. He hadn't yet fully pulled away and I suddenly became very aware of how closely we were sitting. Trey suddenly got distracted by something behind me, which caused him to break eye contact with me. I felt relieved. And a little warm.

A smile spread across his lips as he stood up. I frowned up at him until I saw-

"Eddie?" I ask, surprised. Truthfully, I should not have been surprised that he'd come to see Jill.

He gave Trey a hug and then walked over to me.

"It's so good to see you, Sydney." He said as he hugged me.

He pulled away, with a huge smile on his face. "We've missed you."

"Me too." I was trying to keep control of my emotions, but reuniting with Eddie felt like reuniting with the brother I never had. Well, the pretend brother I did have. I'd grown used to his help, protection, jokes and overall presence, and I found myself missing that when I moved to South Dakota.

Just then an announcement was made over the speakers, that the show would begin in 2 minutes. Eddie sat at the end of the aisle with me next to him and Trey next to me.

The show was captivating and Jill was amazing. She looked like such a natural as she walked down the runway three times. She really did have the perfect body for this. Every outfit she wore fit her like a glove. Her curls were half up, which allowed a full view of her face. She was glowing. The makeup was a bit intense, but it looked perfect on her. It had a dramatic orange eyeshadow that made her jade green eyes pop. Eddie had a permanent smile on his face the entire time.

When the show ended, we were invited to stay for drinks and hor's d'oeuvres at the venue. The runway was quickly replaced with tables, food and a bar, as we waited for Jill to meet us. Thankfully, they decided to turn the music down.

"Oh, thank God! I think I may have permanent hearing loss in my right ear from being so close to that speaker." Eddie said, as he rubbed his ear. "I'm going to go grab a bottle of water, do either of you want anything?"

I shook my head.

"I'm good, thanks." Trey responded.

As soon as Eddie left, Trey turned to me. "That was a good show."

"I agree. Jill was really good, I'm happy she was able to do this."

Trey nodded. "She's definitely a natural, from what I can tell."

"Oh, I just realized I still have your jacket on. Do you want it back?" I said, starting to shrug it off my shoulders.

He put his hands on my shoulders, to stop me from taking the jacket off.

"Melbourne, stop. You can keep it. Hell, I'm tempted to tell you that it's yours now. It looks better on you than me."

I laugh. "It does not, but thank you. I'll-"

"Looks like a family reunion."

I froze as Trey took his hands off my shoulders. I'd recognize that voice anywhere, even if I didn't want to.
