Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the thief and the girl who walked on fire. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth do.

Cye brushed off his hands and then leapt from where he sat onto the railing. Another leap placed him atop one of the supports.

"You know when we sneak in?" Cye said as he looked at Cinder. "I'm NOT hurting anyone unless we have to. Not everyone in SDC is corrupt…." Cye said as Cinder hummed and nodded. She shivered but felt it slowly pass.

She looked at her hands, her aura was coming back. She'd be ready for when they struck at SDC.

"And if they try to kill you?" Cinder questioned as Cye perched atop the pillar.

"I only kill people if their forcing me into a corner." Cye said and paced back and forth atop the pillar. "Or who are scumbags who prey on the weak. You want to get stronger? You do it the old-fashioned way, tons of damn hard work and experience." Cye said as he looked at Nightingale.

Cinder could only ponder what the teen meant. He was quite interesting, yet she didn't understand him at all.

"You know, you should handle the close-range combat… Least till you get something with range." Cye said as he crossed his arms. "Unless… No, that's damn risky…" Cye said as he thought of what to do when it came down to it.

Cye knew there was tunnels that the SDC used to haul out Dust. Tunnels there were given guard by more mechanical defenses due to the Grimm. It would be riskier, but it was far quieter.

"Do you have a plan?" Cinder questioned to which Cye hummed and nodded while waving a finger back and forth with amusement.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I?" Cye questioned as he turned to look at Cinder before leaping down. "But theres a lot to think about. Once we do this? We aren't going to be safe in Mantle. We're have to flee Solitas as far as possible." Cye stated as he hummed and then turned around.

He knew very well that Cinder didn't trust him. He gave her very little reason to trust him when it came down to it.

But trust was a two-way street, you earned it just as much as it was given.

"Before tomorrow night when we sneak inside?" Cye questioned and raised an eyebrow to Cinder. "We're going to spar… Not anything grueling, we're both going to need our auras as high as possible for the incursion." Cye said as he paced back and forth while he hummed.

He knew very well what was demanded of him sooner or later. Cye also watched Cinder's eyes widen then and then start to narrow.

Cinder was upset at this, but chose to let it play out the way it should be at the moment. Cye could only ponder what to do next when it came down to it.

"And once we've fled to Mistral? We're going to lay low… If someone finds us? I'm going to tell them that we're wanting to train at Haven… Once that's done? We can focus on our next move." Cye stated as he looked to the side with amusement.

There would be a lot to do… And Cye knew if he got into trouble when it came down to it?

Then they'd have to be ready, and if there was any fighting to be done? He wanted to be in sync with Cinder as much as possible in the end.

"Anything you want to talk about before we get to work?" Cye questioned as he cracked his fingers.

"Not anything we cant talk about down the road." Cinder responded which caused Cye to nod.

"Then I'd do anything you feel like doing down the road soon… In a few days? We're going in… And that is something we either win… Or we die at." Cye stated and started to climb back upwards to his resting place.

He planned on sleeping once more and maybe a little bit down the road when it came down to it. Cye would rather have more sleep then he needed then be tired and exhausted sneaking down the tunnels.

"Cye?" Cinder questioned which caused Cye to turn and look at her. "I want to talk tomorrow… Before we fight." Cinder stated which caused Cye to nod as he hummed.

Cye knew for a fact that Cinder had scars he'd have to address when it came down to it… And he planned to tomorrow.

He just hoped this didn't burn down to the ground when it came down to it. Cye hummed and scaled the ladder to sit down once more.

Cinder watched the Faunus lay down to sleep. She had her scars from her stepmother… But she refused to let them drag her down to her level.

She sighed and laid down, there was things to be done when they escaped Solitas.
