Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the thief and the girl who walked on fire. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth do.
Cye turned only to see Cinder leap over his shoulder, continuing her path forward. Cye looked at the 2 unconscious guards they had left in their wake.
"I didn't want to burn every bridge that we come across." Cye stated to which he could only shook his head at the moment.
Still? They couldn't get go back. Cye knew for a fact that things would only get tougher the further they went into the mines.
"Oy, this is going to be different." Cye said before he and Cinder arrived at the lift. "You know the majority of the guards will be above… Their going to be waiting for us." Cye added while cracking his fingers.
Cinder said nothing, content simply to ponder what would happen when they get out of here.
"We're deal with them when we get there." Cinder said to which Cye crossed his arms. "Mistral is where we go next after here, right?" Cinder questioned while Cye nodded and hummed once more.
"Yes." Cye said and pushed the button to raise the elevator. "But we're still going to have to fight through the majority of the guards…" Cye said before looking down at the floor with interest.
"And? We're going to have to hack into a Bullhead at the moment." Cinder said as the lift started to rise.
"Yes, but compared to what we're doing currently?" Cye said and cracked his neck. "That's the easy part of this plan at the time." Cye added before the elevator reached the top of its zenith.
The doors opened to reveal a long hallway with dozens of hallways with openings which were filled with minecarts. Cye questioned how many guards were probably lying-in wait at the moment.
"Well, this certainly isn't a trap." Cye said and slowly activated his semblance. "Follow me, don't fall behind." Cye said and slowly moved ahead.
Cye could only ponder what the guards were doing to contain them. They would come down on the duo at the moment.
"Their lying-in wait." Cinder stated to which Cye hummed and nodded before he checked his scroll.
"Move quickly." Cye stated as they cleared the hallway slowly. "Either their trying to lure us into a false sense of security? Or their terrible at setting up traps like this." Cye added before a pair of turrets popped out of the wall.
The guns swiveled towards the duo who rushed out of the way. Cye could only ponder how long it was until the guards pinned them down.
"We need to move on before they pin us down once more." Cye said while he could only rub at his temples.
"Their going to pin us down no matter how sneaky we are." Cinder added before they turned a corner. "You know this was going to happen." Cinder added as Cye nodded and hummed.
Still? That was not so much of an issue at the moment. He wanted to know what the guards would do once they got to the hanger.
Cye knew the majority of the guards would be ready for them. They weren't stupid, if they were cunning enough? They'd be prepped for a pair of introducers like this.
"If they were smart? They'd have figured out where we'd be next." Cye said before making sure his weapon was still ready for when it was needed. "Cinder, remember what I said about how to deal with the guards?" Cye questioned while raising his eyebrow.
"Don't get cocky and continue pushing the advantage as long as we have it." Cinder added as Cye nodded and deactivated his semblance.
"Yes, push the advantage before they catch up to us." Cye stated and shook his head with annoyance. "Don't get cocky as I said. They WILL regroup and that WILL lead to them crippling us and then pinning us down sooner or later… And that will lead to them crippling us and then conquering us soon enough." Cye added with annoyance.
There would be no lock of understanding soon enough. If Cinder paid attention to his words? They'd breeze through this place without getting more attention soon enough.
"I wish that we were more powerful." Cinder stated to which Cye hummed. "Then we could just push through this area." Cinder said as Cye hummed once more in amusement.
"Power doesn't solve much of anything at the moment." Cye said and waved his hands back and forth. "It's a means to an end. You know for a fact that power in Atlas is easy to have." Cye said while crossing his arms.
Cye knew for a fact that this would be a long night at this rate. They would be going on fighting more guards… He just hoped Cinder doesn't get sadistic or such.
She worried him far more at the guards did. Mainly because of how easy she seemed to find violence upon the guards.
