Chapter 2:

ANNABETH

'Everything hurts.' I think as I take a deep breath and open my eyes. "GODS ITS SO BRIGHT!" Wait, bright? 'We made it! We got out!' I beamingly think noticing briefly that I am on a cot in what appears to be some sort of small medical room one might find on an old boat. "Percy we're finally free of that place!" I exclaim as I look to my right.

Immediately my good mood falters. Percy looks like a mess, with cuts all over his entire body including many that are deep and long. Despite looking like he has been healing for maybe a week, it still was horrifying to see on the man that I love. He had taken more damage than she had in Tartarus trying to protect her.

Barely thinking I get up and go over to him, barely noticing the pain and fatigue I felt just a moment. 'He needs to heal, he needs water' I think briefly while taking his hand.

"Help! Can someone please help me!" I yell as loudly as I can, which granted wasn't much with my coarse voice.

Just then, the door opens and walking in quickly wearing medical clothes was a…. Racoon with antlers?

A week earlier

On the going merry (From here on out the story will be third person.)

"Let's find somewhere to buy some meat!" Luffy exclaimed with a grin.

"We can find meat when we get to water seven. We are almost there after all." Nami stated exasperated with her single minded captain. 'Ok that wasn't fair' She thought, 'Luffy is a great captain and a better friend. But can't he focus for once?' She thought already knowing the answer to that.

"Ya Luffy, while I do love food, we really need to fix up the Going Merry" Usopp chimed in from where he and Chopper were fishing.

"Can't you keep it down I'm trying to sleep here!" Zoro yelled from his spot not opening his eyes.

'Just a usual day for the Strawhat Pirates' Robin thought with a smile as she looked up from her book.

Just then, she noticed the Merry was heading straight for something floating in the water. No, not something, someone, and two someone's at that.

"Hey guys?" She said trying to get everyone's attention.

"Yes my sweet Robin!" Sanji said coming out of the kitchen carrying a tray with what looks desert as everyone turned to her.

"I hate to interrupt but there are two people drifting up ahead of us"

Luffy quickly swung to the front of the boat "Hey you're right Robin, let's bring them aboard and say hi!" he stated excitedly.

Nami, however, was less sure, "Are you sure that's a good idea? What if they're strong pirates, or worse marines? It's risky."

Robin was all too aware of the risk that they could be from the government and after her, but she got more and more curious as they approached and it looked like the two in the sea weren't moving and might be dead. Which in and of itself wouldn't be a surprise if they have been drifting around a sea like the grand line with its difficult weather and sea kings, but what surprised her was that they were holding hands.

So Robin spoke up, "We should bring them aboard."

Luffy smiled and yelled, "Zoro, Sanji, go get them out of the water and bring them aboard."

"Sure thing captain," Zoro said while Sanji responded, "Sure, why not." And they jumped in before quicklyreturning with a boy and girl that looked around 18 years old.

The boy had wind swept black hair and an athletic build as if he swam every day. The girl also had an athletic build with golden blond hair in locks. More interesting were the girls weapons, a dagger that looked to be glowing slightly, and a sword made out of… bone? All the Strawhats looked at them in interest and shock as they surrounded the two. They looked like they had been through hell, with clothes ripped beyond recognition and a canvas of cuts and bruises, although the boy looked worse of the two.

Chopper immediately took charge.

"Get them to the medical bay now!" He ordered the crew as Usopp grabbed the girl and Sanji helped Zoro with the boy. After laying them in cots, chopper kicked everyone out and got to work.

Several hours later

As chopper finally left the medical bay, he saw most of the crew lounging around the deck waiting for him.

"How are they?" Nami kindly asked knowing how hard Chopper has been working.

"Stable for now," Chopper responded, "but in that condition it will be some time before they wake up."

"Here Chopper, you missed dinner, eat up and get some rest, you did what you can." Sanji said walking up to him with a plate of seafood in his hand.

"Ya, sounds good." Chopper responded taking the plate. All they could do now was wait.

The present

"How are you feeling?" Chopper asked kindly, "You should still be resting, why don't you go back to your cot."

Annabeth stood frozen as Chopper approached before eyeing her drakon bone sword on the other side of the room and lunging for it after letting go of Percy's hand.

"Don't go near him!" She screamed "After what we just went through I am not letting a monster take him away from me!"

Chopper faltered, thinking of his past on Drum Island where everyone saw him as nothing but a monster, before he made friends. Then, he saw and remembered their condition and his doctor instincts kicked in.

"Miss, I'm not a monster I'm the doctor who saved you, now follow doctor's orders and lie down!"

Just then, Robin appeared in the doorway.

"I'd listen to him if I were you, you both were half dead when we pulled you out of the water, if it weren't for him you likely wouldn't have made it. And that wouldn't do as I am very interested in where you came from." Robin calmly stated.

Annabeth, however, wasn't convinced as she slowly made her way back to Percy with her guard up. Recognizing that in her condition, she likely couldn't put up a fight, she made a plan. If she could just get Percy up, maybe they could get out of this together.

"Get me a bucket of water, and I'll lie down. Salt water." Annabeth quickly demanded.

Although confused, Chopper was dedicated to seeing his patients get healthy again. "OK, I'll go get your water. Robin, stay here and make sure she lies down so she can heal." Chopper said as he left.

"You heard the doctor." Robin said as Annabeth complied and lied down in Percy's cot, looking at Robin as if daring her to say something.

"I'm Robin, can I ask what your name's are?" Robin asked.

"Annabeth"

"Where are you from Annabeth."

Thinking it best to stay on the good side of the woman, Robin, while in the condition she and especially Percy were in, Annabeth decided to answer the question.

"San Francisco originally, but we live in New York"

Robin was confused, where was that? It certainly wasn't a kingdom she had ever heard of. Just then Chopper walked back in with Luffy holding a bucket of water. She decided to drop it for now. They can learn more about her later.

"I'm glad you laid down, although you really should be in your own cot," Chopper said, "Luffy, can give her the water?"

"Sure thing!" He said with a grin handing placing the bucket next to Annabeth who laid up and picked it up before dumping it on Percy.

"why'd you do that!?" Chopper asked while Luffy laughed and Robin watched with curiosity noticing that… his wounds were beginning to mend themselves?

Just then, everyone heard a gasp and in shock watched as the boy slowly opened his eyes, Annabeth visibly relieved.

"What's going on? Are we at sea?" Percy asked groggily before seeing the sunlight coming through the window and people in front of him and his eyes opened wide.
