An attempt to show the more things change, the more they stay the same. As the title indicates next few sections have a perspective shift. Probably 2-3 800-1k word chunks for this arc.
'Obi-Wan, this is your plan. Your plan, your call.'
Those words bring the Padawan to a small room with the diminutive Grandmaster.
"Master Yoda, Sifo-Dyas will not be coming back."
Yoda's eyes close, "Sure of this Bladesinger has been, and now you Padawan Kenobi. Sent you here she did, but not your Master. Curious."
"She did not send me Master Yoda, in fact she only knows I have an idea I wish to follow up on to help prove her case. But to do so I need the Council to send her out of the Temple on a task here on Coruscant."
"Bait you wish her to be."
"Not Bait, but eyes will be on her."
"Seeing those eyes is what you intend?"
"Healer Ky'sa or my Master will see those eyes. I will not."
'Distraction you want, send her to interview someone on Senator Palpatine's list."
"That or send her shopping."
Yoda;s eyes narrow, "Why shopping?"
"She is right that we are treated a certain way when wearing our robes, even just in the few days we were on the run with Queen Amidala, everyone was willing to be a little more relaxed with her while she wore the queen's clothes compared to the wary deference I received. And even here in the Temple the few hours she wore those clothes instead of the robes everyone's suspicion increased, but the moment she wore them the overall air of distrust disappeared. Even going back over my times on Mandalore and Pijal where maybe not visibly proclaiming myself a Jedi might have helped, but others where I know anything other than the robes of a Jedi would have meant failure of the task at hand. I know with our homespun robes we have clothes that work to show us as refugees or farmers or other rustics, but do we have what we need to appear to be bureaucrats, administrators, or other functionaries that would let us observe halls of power without raising concerns about Jedi interference?"
"Much thought you've put in this, young Padawan."
"Ever since she first told us about the fall of our Order, it has been on my mind, Master Yoda. We follow the will of the Force, but to those outside these walls what does that mean? I can now see how we could easily have a reputation of meddlers, even if we are protecting the Republic. The Order has been walking that line for millenia, but how often have we changed our methods for the time? If Jedi Bladesinger is right, the Sith have been changing their methods without changing who they are, can we not do the same?"
Yoda's eyes go soft and appraising, "The Council agrees with your analysis Padawan Kenobi. An appropriate path forward for the Order has yet to be revealed. As to the interviews of Palpatine's schedule in the hands of Masters Windu and Mundi they are. No matter how skilled Jedi Bladesinger is, known Masters will open more doors in such interviews. Send Jedis Bladesinger and Ky'sa to the commercial districts we will."
Obi-wan bows deep, "Thank you Master Yoda."
As he walks for the door, Yoda's voice follows him, "Nervous you are, more you have to share. But feel you cannot."
Without looking back, Obi-Wan's words bring the Grandmaster up short, "That is what this plan is for, to know if what I know should be shared."
"May the Force be with you, Padawan Kenobi."
"May it be with us all, Master Yoda. May it be with us all."
Within two hours, the two female Jedi had hopped into a speeder to head to the closest commercial district. Ky'sa's grumbles that all she needed was her robes had brought a chuckle to the rest of the conspiracy to save the Jedi before they had headed out. Leaving master and apprentice alone in the speeder bay.
'"I am proud of you Obi-Wan." Those words bring the young man up short. "Again you prove you are a far wiser Jedi than I am."
"Don't say that Master."
"Indulge me Padawan, you saw your Master and two other Jedi trapped in a thought process, focused so much on the key element of convincing Grandmaster Yoda about Dooku and used that to find another .in regards to both him and the missing Sifo-Dyas."
"Are you going to follow through on your part of this Master?" Obi-Wan's words shaky as he tries to keep focused
"I'll be leaving for the Judicial Services office and the Wookie delegation shortly, between the two of them we will have the information you want from them."
"Thank you, Master."
"Thank you, Jedi Kenobi." With that Qui-Gon moves to his own speeder to head to his destination
As for next stage of his plan, it was a little after the lunch rush and he was hungry. It was time for a nerfburger and some JawaJuice.
