Petunia: Hi.
(Archibald turns and sees Petunia sitting in one of the chairs reading a book)
Archibald: Oh. Hi.
Petunia: Have the kids gone to bed?
Archibald: Told them their bedtime stories and they fell asleep about a few minutes ago.
(Petunia nods then Archibald goes over to the chair then kisses Petunia then her belly then plays with a strand of Petunia's hair)
Archibald: Still awake?
Petunia: I couldn't sleep so I thought I'd stay up for awhile.
(Archibald looks at Petunia concerned)
Archibald: (Worriedly) You and the baby are not uncomfortable, are you?
Petunia: No. Nothing like that. Maybe it's because I'm excited about tomorrow.
(Archibald brushes away some of Petunia's hair from her eyes)
Archibald: I can't believe it's the last appointment before the baby arrives.
Petunia: I know. Neither can I.
(Archibald and Petunia kiss then Archibald looks down at Petunia's book then over at her)
Archibald: What are you reading?
Petunia: A book I'm supposed to read to the class next week.
Archibald: Ah.
(Archibald kisses Petunia's cheek)
Archibald: Would you like some company?
Petunia: Absolutely.
(Archibald grabs another book then sits in the chair beside Petunia then they begin reading. Petunia turns another page then she gasps)
Petunia: Oof!
(Petunia puts her book aside then looks down at her belly then sees it give a little jolt then her eyes widen and she smiles then stands up then looks over at Archibald)
Petunia: Archie, I think the baby...I think the baby moved.
(Archibald looks up smiling)
Archibald: (Hopeful) Really?
(Petunia nods then Archibald quickly gets up then quickly goes over to Petunia then presses close to her belly while Petunia looks down expectantly then suddenly her belly gives a larger jolt causing Archibald to move back slightly then gaze at it in awe)
Petunia: (Giggles) Did you feel it?
Archibald: (Chuckles) I did!
(Archibald kisses Petunia's belly)
Archibald: (To Petunia's belly, softly) Hello in there, little one.
(Petunia giggles then continues looking down then Archibald trails kisses along the curve of her belly then pauses below the middle then kisses it tenderly)
Petunia: The doctor did say this was gonna happen when I reached this month.
(Archibald looks up at Petunia smiling warmly)
Archibald: And I'm glad it did.
(Archibald then presses closer to Petunia's belly then begins humming a lullaby, the slight rumble sound against her causes Petunia to giggle)
Petunia: (Whispering) What are you doing?
(Archibald looks up at Petunia)
Archibald: (Whispering) I've read that the baby can hear when you sing or hum to them.
(Petunia feels two small kicks from the baby then looks down at Archibald)
Petunia: (Cooing) Archie, it's working, the baby's listening.
(Archibald chuckles then nuzzles Petunia's belly lovingly then stands up then kisses Petunia's forehead)
Archibald: Shall we move over somewhere else?
Petunia: Sure.
(Archibald picks up Petunia then she leans her head against his then Archibald carries her over to the couch then carefully sets her down then sits down beside her then looks over at her smiling lovingly)
Archibald: You look beautiful.
Petunia: Archie...
Archibald: No, honestly. I mean, look at you.
(Petunia giggles then Archibald leans over then they press their foreheads together)
Archibald: Have I ever mentioned how much I love you?
Petunia: Hmm. Only about three times today.
Archibald: (Chuckles) Let's make it four then.
(The two kiss romantically then Petunia leans against Archibald then Archibald kisses her forehead)
Archibald: I've never felt so happy. Being married to you (looks down at Petunia's belly) and now we're adding to our family.
Petunia: I think we both should feel happy then.
(Petunia kisses Archibald's cheek then Archibald kisses Petunia's belly then sits back up then looks over at Petunia then kisses her)
Archibald: I can't wait to meet them.
Petunia: Me too.
(The two look down at Petunia's belly affectionately)
END OF SNIPPET 1
Ellen: Jimmy, I'm...
(The bell to the door rings then Jimmy and Ellen turn to see Vicki and Larry entering with now 1-year-old Moe)
Larry: Hey, look who it is.
Vicki: Hi, you guys.
(The two go over to the table)
Ellen: Hello, Vicki. Hi, Larry. (Playfully) Hi, Moe. You're getting so big.
Jimmy: You guys wanna join us? The more, the merrier.
Larry: Wish we could but we're taking our food to go since we've got to get Moe over to the daycare while I'm over at my new job interview.
Ellen: Oh, so you're going to have a job now instead?
Vicki: We figured it'd be better if we switched things around since Larry's starting to look thrashed nowadays.
Jimmy: (Chuckles) A toddler'll do that to ya.
Ellen: Y-Yeah. (Turns to Larry) Larry, can I talk to you for a second?
Larry: Okay.
(Ellen and Larry hop away from the table while Vicki places Moe into a booster seat then sits down then looks over at Jimmy)
Vicki: Jimmy, can you keep Moe busy while I write down our order on the notepad?
Jimmy: Uh...Uh. Yeah.
(Jimmy turns to Moe while Larry and Ellen continue talking not too far away from the table then Larry's eyes widen and he gasps)
Larry: (Whispering) You're pregnant?
Ellen: Yeah. I found out yesterday.
Larry: Congratulations, Ellen. How far along?
Ellen: About 2 months.
Larry: Wow. Have you told Jimmy yet?
Ellen: I was about to (sighs) now I'm beginning to have doubts whether he's ready or not.
Larry: Jimmy would make a great dad, Ellen.
Ellen: But he just said having a toddler will make you exhausted.
Larry: Aw, that doesn't mean nothing. I'm sure Jimmy's gonna be excited about this.
(The two look over and see Moe squirming in his seat and babbling then Jimmy picks up Moe's rattle from the table then shows it to him)
Jimmy: (Cooing) Is this what you're looking for, buddy?
(Moe begins giggling then Jimmy gives him the rattle then Ellen smiles when she sees Jimmy making silly faces while Moe giggles louder)
Larry: See, he's a natural.
Ellen: (Sighs) I just hope he can handle two.
(Larry's eyes widen then Ellen nods then they continue looking over at Jimmy distracting Moe)
END OF SNIPPET 2
Jimmy: Hey, Cupcake.
Ellen: Oh. Welcome back.
(Jimmy kisses Ellen)
Jimmy: So, what have you been up to?
Ellen: Well...
(Ellen shows Jimmy the card)
Jimmy: You've been making a card?
Ellen: Our anniversary is tomorrow so I thought I'd give you your present now.
Jimmy: Ellen, babe, you really didn't have to...
Ellen: Oh. Tut, tut, tut.
(Ellen kisses Jimmy then gives him the card)
Ellen: Don't be modest. Go ahead and see what you got.
(Jimmy smiles then kisses Ellen then opens up the card then he reads the words 'Happy Anniversary from Ellen and baby' then his eyes widen)
Jimmy: It can't be.
(Jimmy looks on the other side of the card then he gasps when he sees an ultrasound photo that has a very small seed-shaped blob then he looks up at Ellen hopefully)
Jimmy: Babe, does this mean...?
(Ellen nods)
Ellen: We're gonna have a baby, Jimmy. I'm pregnant.
(Jimmy puts the card down then he lifts Ellen up then spins her around then kisses her)
Jimmy: (Happily) We're gonna be parents?
Ellen: (Giggles) We are.
Jimmy: Oh, Cupcake, this is the best news ever. I've never been this excited. I can't believe it!
(Jimmy hugs Ellen)
Ellen: But, wait. There's more.
Jimmy: There is?
Ellen: You see, we're not having a baby.
Jimmy: (Confused) What? We're not?
(Ellen shows Jimmy the second ultrasound photo with two small seed-shaped blobs)
Ellen: We're having two.
Jimmy: Two? That means...
Ellen: ...It's twins, Jimmy.
(Jimmy chuckles then kisses Ellen then looks down at her stomach then kisses it in the middle)
Jimmy: (To Ellen's stomach, softly) Hi, babies. I'm your Daddy.
(Jimmy looks up at Ellen)
Jimmy: You know, we're gonna have to ask George to start working on two cribs soon.
Ellen: (Giggles) We'll get there.
(Ellen presses her forehead to Jimmy's)
Ellen: We'll get there.
Jimmy: I love you, Ellen, sweetheart. And I love our babies already too.
Ellen: So...When they're toddlers, they won't be too much trouble?
(Jimmy kisses Ellen's forehead then shakes his head)
Jimmy: Never.
(Ellen smiles then kisses Jimmy)
END OF SNIPPET 3
Petunia: Would a lullaby be an added bonus?
(The kids nod)
Petunia: (Chuckles) Okay, then.
(Archibald places Junior and Libby on the end of the bed followed by Petunia who places Christina and Eloise next to them then Archibald lays down then Petunia lays down next to him then they turn to the kids)
Archibald: Alright, everyone together.
Petunia: Come on. Huddle in.
(Archibald places Junior on his lap then Christina lays between Archibald and Petunia then Libby lays against Archibald's other side then Eloise lays against Petunia's other side)
Petunia: Are you ready?
Kids: Yeah.
SONG: HOPE'S SONG
Archibald: There's a story that started on Christmas when a baby was born in the night and those who came far who followed the star were seeing a heavenly sight (Junior falls asleep against his chest) a heavenly sight.
(Petunia turns to Eloise who's eyes are now opening and closing)
Petunia: Well, the years hurried by and the boy, now a man, could make the blind see with a touch of His hand. He was born to be King, he was Rabbi and Priest, but the best that He had, He gave to the least. (Eloise falls asleep against her side) He gave to the least.
(Archibald and Petunia look down at Christina between them)
Archibald and Petunia: He was born and He died almost 2,000 years ago, He laughed and He cried, He felt all the fears we know, but what does it matter? A story so strange (Christina's eyes begin closing) Even if it's true, what does it change? (Christina falls asleep) What does it change?
(Archibald and Petunia look at each other then kiss then Archibald carefully picks up the still sleeping Christina and Junior then carries them out of the room then Petunia carefully helps Eloise settle down against one of the pillows without waking her up then picks up Libby then carries her over to the window)
Petunia: Well, He spoke like a prophet, like no one they'd heard, this simple young carpenter, crowds hung on every word. He hated injustice, He taught what was right (rubs her nose against Libby's then continues rocking her) He said, I'm the way and the truth and the light.
(Archibald then comes up beside her holding onto the still sleeping Eloise then they both look down at Libby who's eyes begin opening and closing)
Archibald and Petunia: His friends soon believed that truly He was the one. The Savior, Messiah, God's one and only Son, but others they doubted, they did not agree.
(Petunia hands the nearly asleep Libby over to Archibald then they continue looking down at her)
Archibald: So they took Him, they tried Him
Petunia: He died on a tree (kisses both Eloise and the now sleeping Libby's foreheads) He died on a tree.
END OF SONG
(Archibald and Petunia look down at both Eloise and Libby nestled against Archibald then they look at each other then Petunia kisses Archibald's cheek then he carries Eloise and Libby out of the room then Petunia sits down then looks down at her small rounded stomach)
Petunia: (To her stomach, softly) Goodnight to you too. Still can't wait to meet you in 5 more months.
