Archibald: So, what is this big surprise the kids are talking about?
Petunia: Well, yesterday, I took your advice and went to the doctor and told her about my symptoms.
Archibald: (Worriedly) You mean how you've been tired lately and vomiting?
Petunia: That's right and so she did a couple of tests. Including some things like either a flu or cancer.
Archibald: (Worriedly) Cancer?
(Petunia quickly kisses Archibald)
Petunia: It was only for safety reasons, sweetheart. that test immediately came back negative.
(Archibald sighs in relief then hugs Petunia)
Archibald: You scared me for a moment.
(Archibald kisses Petunia's forehead)
Archibald: (Worriedly) But you are alright, aren't you?
Petunia: The doctor said everything does check out. I'm perfectly healthy.
Archibald: then what's going on?
(Petunia moves closer to Archibald then kisses him)
Petunia: Well, what was the one thing we wanted after we got married and we moved into the house?
(Archibald pulls Petunia flush against him)
Archibald: We were hoping that our kids would soon have a baby brother or sister to play with, that we'd have another child to love.
Petunia: How would you feel if I told you I think we're ready to have a baby?
Archibald: (Chuckles) I'd be very thrilled.
Petunia: (Giggles) And what if I told you we wouldn't have to wait long?
(Archibald looks surprised then looks down at Petunia's stomach then back up at her smiling)
Archibald: (Hopeful) Darling, what are you saying?
Petunia: I think what I'm trying to say is that...I'm pregnant, Archie.
(Archibald looks down at Petunia's stomach in awe then back up at her then kisses her romantically then lifts her up then twirls her around still kissing her then puts her down then stares back at her, eyes shining with tears)
Archibald: (Voice cracking) You're really pregnant?
Petunia: You're happy, right?
Archibald: (Chuckles) Dearest, what kind of a silly question is that? I'm beyond happy. I just want to shout it to the world, "We're going to be parents".
(Archibald kisses Petunia)
Archibald: I love you.
Petunia: And I love you too.
(Archibald leans over towards Petunia's stomach then rolls up her top enough to expose the skin of her stomach then presses gentle kisses over it then he looks up at Petunia still kissing her stomach)
Archibald: (Whispering) there's a baby in there.
Petunia: (Giggles) Yeah. There is, Archie.
END OF SNIPPET 1
Junior: (Sighs) Hi, Dad.
Archibald: How was school you two...
(Archibald turns around then sees Junior's black eye and bloodied lip then quickly goes over to him)
Archibald: (Worriedly) Junior! What happened?
Libby: Junior got into a fight with Gordon during recess.
Junior: He was picking on Libby and when I went over to help her, we started arguing and the next thing I knew, he began to tower over me.
Archibald: (Sighs) Come here.
(Archibald picks up Junior then carries him over to the counter then puts him down)
Archibald: It doesn't look very swollen. I think you just need some ice on it.
(Archibald goes over to the refrigerator then grabs an ice pack then goes back over to Junior then glances at him apologetically)
Archibald: this is going to sting a little.
(Archibald carefully places the ice pack against Junior's eye causing him to whimper)
Archibald: I'm sorry, dear. I know it hurts but try not to move.
(Junior stops whimpering then slowly relaxes then Archibald goes over to the sink then grabs a dish rag then goes back over to Junior)
Archibald: Let me just clean off your lip.
(Archibald wipes off the drop of blood on Junior's lip with the rag)
Archibald: there you go.
(Archibald picks up Junior)
Archibald: You were so brave.
Junior: But what are you gonna do about Gordon, Dad?
Archibald: I think I'll give the principal a call then we'll figure something out.
Junior: Okay.
Archibald: You know I'm very proud of you for standing up for your sister, Junior.
Junior: thanks, Dad.
(Libby goes over to Archibald)
Libby: Hey! I could've shown Gordon a thing or two.
(Archibald chuckles then picks up Libby)
Archibald: I'm proud of both of you.
END OF SNIPPET 2
Katrina: What do you think of the name Gilbert?
Bob: Sounds more like a name Archie would approve of.
Katrina: Okay...how about Jeremy?
Bob: It's nice-sounding but I think it's more like a middle name.
Katrina: (Sighs) Honey, you already rejected five names on my list if it's a boy.
(Katrina groans then sits down on the couch then Bob looks at her concerned then sighs then hops onto the couch then pecks Katrina on the cheek)
Bob: I'm sorry, sweetheart. They really are great names but what if it turns out to be a girl?
(Katrina turns to Bob)
Katrina: Are you saying you wouldn't want a boy?
Bob: No. Of course not. A boy would be wonderful but we do have to consider that 'he' might be a 'she'.
Katrina: Yeah. You're right. (Looks down at her belly) Well, we're gonna find out tomorrow.
Bob: And until then, all I'm saying is we might as well think up girl names too.
Katrina: But you really wouldn't mind if it does turn out to be a boy?
(Bob kisses Katrina's cheek)
Bob: I wouldn't mind at all.
Katrina: (Sniffles, sighs) I'm sorry babe, I don't mean to sound cranky. I guess being pregnant is starting to get to me.
Bob: (Softly) Hey, I understand. It's okay. Why don't we take a break and just relax?
(Katrina nods then Bob leans against her belly then Katrina sighs and begins to relax then Bob gasps causing Katrina to look at him)
Katrina: (Worriedly) What's wrong, honey?
(Bob moves away slightly then looks at Katrina's belly in awe then looks up at her)
Bob: Babe, didn't you feel it?
Katrina: Feel what?
Bob: Wait.
(Bob leans against Katrina's belly then feels it jolt causing Katrina to gasp then she looks down at Bob surprised)
Katrina: Sweetie, did the baby just...kick?
Bob: (Chuckles) I think so.
Katrina: Try talking to it. Maybe they heard our voices.
(Bob presses closer to Katrina's belly)
Bob: (To Katrina's belly, softly) Hello.
Katrina: (Giggles) Feels like somebody does like hearing their Daddy's voice already.
Bob: (Chuckles) I think you're right. (To Katrina's belly, softly) Hi. Daddy's right here.
Katrina: I wish the girls weren't in school right now. They're gonna be overjoyed when they find out about this.
Bob: I know I already am. (To Katrina's belly, softly) Daddy loves you.
(Bob kisses Katrina's belly then leans against it while Katrina leans back then looks down at Bob lovingly then looks like she has an idea)
Katrina: Stark.
(Bob looks up at Katrina still against her belly)
Bob: What's that, babe?
Katrina: Stark. We can name him Stark if it's a boy. It means 'strong'. And judging by the way the baby's kicking, it's perfect. (Looks down at her belly) Our strong boy.
Bob: Hmm. Stark. (To Katrina's belly, softly) Stark. Do you like that, honey?
(Bob feels the baby kick then chuckles then kisses Katrina's belly then looks up at her)
Bob: He likes it.
Katrina: (Giggles) 'He'?
Bob: 'He'. Now I definitely know we're having a boy.
Katrina: No doubt?
Bob: No doubt. (Kisses Katrina's belly) Stark.
(Katrina nods)
Katrina: Stark.
END OF SNIPPET 3
Mr. Nezzer: I can't believe it.
Esther: We're gonna have a baby girl, Nebby.
(Mr. Nezzer kisses Esther)
Mr. Nezzer: Mmm-hmm. (Looks down at Esther's belly) I kinda had a feeling though.
Esther: Dad's institution?
Mr. Nezzer: Yep.
(Mr. Nezzer leans down towards Esther's belly then kisses it)
Mr. Nezzer: Now all we need is a name for her.
Esther: It'll come to us some time.
Mr. Nezzer: (To Esther's belly, cooing) Now, is our princess hungry?
Esther: (Giggles) She is.
(Mr. Nezzer kisses Esther's belly)
Mr. Nezzer: (To Esther's belly, cooing) Daddy'll get something for you and Mommy.
(Mr. Nezzer stands back up then kisses Esther's cheek)
Mr. Nezzer: Why don't you go into the living room? I'd be glad to massage your back after lunch.
Esther: Okay. (Kisses Mr. Nezzer) Sounds good.
(Esther goes into the living room then sits down on the couch then sighs then begins to close her eyes then suddenly opens them then looks down at her belly and gasps)
Esther: Nebby! Come in here!
(Mr. Nezzer quickly goes away from the kitchen then over to Esther, panic-stricken)
Mr. Nezzer: (Worriedly) Essie, what's wrong? Are you okay? Is something wrong with the baby? Do we need to go back to the hospital?
Esther: No. Nothing like that.
Mr. Nezzer: (Worriedly) Then what is it?
Esther: Sit beside me.
(Mr. Nezzer nods then sits beside Esther)
Mr. Nezzer: Okay.
Esther: Move towards my tummy.
(Mr. Nezzer scoots closer to Esther till her belly touches his side)
Esther: Now feel.
(Mr. Nezzer waits then his eyes widen then he gasps when he feels something press against his ribs then he looks down at Esther's belly surprised)
Mr. Nezzer: (Hopeful) Sweetheart, was that...our baby?
Esther: She's finally saying 'hello' to us, Nebby.
(Mr. Nezzer leans down towards Esther's belly then presses close to it)
Mr. Nezzer: (To Esther's belly, cooing) Hi, baby. It's Daddy.
(Mr. Nezzer presses kisses over Esther's belly)
Esther: (Giggles) A Daddy's girl already.
(Mr. Nezzer presses close to Esther's belly then looks up at her)
Mr. Nezzer: You have no idea.
