"No such thing as no, and I'm with you.
When we dim the lights, come in closer
Smell the sweet perfume
Heating up the night
Touch me now like there's no time to lose."

"You...you haven't smiled all day," Adrien murmured from the hospital bed, the boy sitting up with the assistance of his beloved, sweet friend, wincing when the bandages got a little snug around the painful injury on his back and chest. He couldn't help the immense guilt that built up within him from the sight of her shattered, heartbroken expression, the girl thoroughly affected by his predicament. "Marinette...listen, it wasn't your fault-"
"Yes, it was!" Her sudden, loud volume had him almost jumping out of his skin and most likely, herself too with the way she shrunk back into her shell. Peering around the room with wide eyes(expecting an angry nurse or two to barrel in to scold her for disrupting everyone's peace), she sat back on the visitor's chair, a good distance away from him much to his utter dismay. Thankfully, he wasn't a quitter and Adrien simply grabbed her arm gently with pleading eyes, beckoning her to sit on the bed beside him. His heart fluttered from the way the stubborn tension that was wound tight in her shoulders dissipated from his loving touch alone.
"Adrien...if I wasn't so clumsy...if I watched where I was going when it happened then you wouldn't have gotten hurt-" She was silenced by the way his thumb tenderly brushed her pooling tears away, his benevolent smile never leaving his lips and his emerald greens just full of unconditional devotion and sweetness. Adrien wordlessly continued to wipe her tears away and Marinette couldn't help the small, selfish part of her heart that begged her body to never stop weeping just so that she could feel his affectionate touch against her sensitive skin for the rest of eternity.
"If I didn't make it in time, you would've been worse off...or..." He leaned in closer, a dark, heavy frown marring his face. "Killed." He gripped her hands now with a tightness and protectiveness that made her feel like he never, ever wanted to let her go, bringing the hardworking knuckles to his lips so that he could kiss all the pain away that was tenaciously rooted in her heart. "I have no regrets. None at all. And no one could have expected the ceiling to suddenly collapse in the classroom. What matters the most is that you're safe and sound, Marinette."
"But you ended up getting hurt because I stupidly tripped and couldn't get away in time-"
"Hurt? Me? Bah. This is just a silly scratch, you silly girl," A mischievous grin slipped out before he could stop it, relishing the way she pouted in such an adorable manner with her cheeks puffed up and her rosy lips pursed. It made him want to grab her within his arms and kiss her sweet face all over with all the love she absolutely deserves.
"You can't joke yourself out of this," Her expression turned forlorn once more and her baby blues watered anew. "I...I really thought we lost you..." Tears cascaded down her face and she leaned her head on his shoulder carefully, as if she couldn't believe that he was still there by her side.
Breathing.
Alive.
Their hearts beating in tandem.
.
"I'm not going anywhere. I'll always be here for you, Marinette. I promise. As long as you want me," His eyes held nothing but the pure truth, one of his hands clasping the back of her neck as he reverently leaned his forehead upon hers.
"Even...even if I want you around forever?" She managed to rasp with all her courage, conflicting emotions and feelings brewing within her chest as the close proximity between their bodies made her dizzy in the best ways possible. His brows furrowed even more softly, his piano fingers carding through her dark, midnight hair and tucking the stray strands behind her ear.
"Especially if you want me around forever. Always."
They remained in that position, both of their eyes closed peacefully as they soaked in each other's presence like lovers that were separated by a brutal, excruciating war and have finally found each other again after decades.

If Chat Noir had fur, he'd have jumped out of it or it would've stricken up just like his namesake by the sudden exclamation from his Lady who rushed towards him, tripping over her feet for a split second but then quickly regaining back her balance before he could even think of catching her. He couldn't even get a breath in as she had his shoulders in a tight, firm(delicious) grip, her baby blues lit up with sheer fury making them look like azure flames.
He didn't know whether to be shit-scared or turned on.
Most likely he was both. Especially the latter.
"You. You're injured, aren't you? Why didn't you message me? Why did you come to patrol? Did you think you can hide this from me!?" She shook him lightly, being mindful and delicate of his sore chest and back as she scanned his torso with her eyes, trying to pinpoint where his injuries are under the suit. Chat Noir remained completely shocked and devoid of any comprehensive thoughts within his stuttering mind, wondering just how she even knew that he was hurt.
As if she could read his mind, she narrowed her eyes once again, fingers digging into his biceps.
"I'm your partner. Did you think I wouldn't be able to tell if even a hair is bent out of shape? Or if something is bothering you? Stupid!" All that her words did was turn his barely-working brain to mush and make his pounding heart flutter with bliss.
"But my hair is always bent out of shape..." Was all he managed to meekly muster, earning an incredulous bark of laughter from the herculean heroine. Unfortunately, just as she gingerly rested her head on his chest, his body immediately flinched from the pain of the contact without his permission.
Chat Noir cursed violently at the injury's terrible timing, his Lady ripping herself away from him with shock as her eyes zoned in right at his chest. Exactly where the giant light beams hurt him.
"It's not that bad! I swear! It's just a silly-"
"Silly scratch...huh?" Her seething voice had his jaw snap close, the gears within his head pushing back the lone screw he purposely let out loose in the past for the sake of her safety, all whilst hers ran at sonic speed. It was as if both of their masks were torn off without mercy and that they were practically naked before one another. Chat Noir couldn't help but follow his natural instincts, cradling her face with the same tenderness and loving touch he used back when he wiped her tears away at the hospital. As usual, the stress that plagued her body was quick to smooth away under his sweet warmth.
.
"First, I'm dragging your stupid butt back to my house so that you'll actually rest. Next, I'm gonna tear Plagg apart a new butthole for letting you run around in the clown suit." Her tone was cool and steady, her eyes practically still blue flames that actually sent shivers down the little God's spine whose consciousness bleated worriedly within the hero's mind.
'Oi, oi, oi! What does she mean to give me a new butthole!? I TRIED to stop you from going out so why AM I the one who's going to get PUNISHED!? Kid! Tell her it isn't my fault! Tell her!'
Hoping to calm down some of her ire, at least for the sake of his little kwami's safety, Chat Noir brought Ladybug into his arms and tightened his grasp when she tried to protest for his own sake.
"Like you said, it's a silly scratch. I'm okay, I'm fine and I can totally hug you like this without any problems whatsoever." His screaming muscles wailed otherwise but he didn't give a single fuck. Her delectable warmth and addicting scent and even her worry for him were more than enough to wonderfully soothe the pesky pain away. She was his drug and was absolutely hooked on her.
Ladybug shot her head back off his chest, hands gripping his fluffy head so that she can shove him against her forehead, the girl not even bothered by the surprised kitten-like mewl he let out by accident. It was as if they were in the hospital again, blissfully drowning within the seas and rivers of each others' blues and greens.
"You've made me worry more than enough times already, Adrien," She glowered at his dopey smile that only widened when she breathed out his name, the heat now simmering to a slow, loving inferno within her eyes. "Just come with me. I'll look after you and make sure you get better faster. Please?"
He couldn't help himself any longer and pressed a tender, romantic kiss to her reddened cheek, his hands now resting on her hips and his faux tail wrapping around her torso by impulse.
"As long as you don't scare off Plagg too much. It's not his fault that I pestered him to let me out." He almost chuckled out loud from the grumpy kwami agreeing within his head, babbling about his innocence and how it was Adrien's fault in the first place for using his weakness of camembert against him.
"Okay...I'll be nice to him. Here, hold onto me. Let me know if I jostle you too much and if you feel any excess pain-" He placed a finger on her plump lips, pausing her rambles(and testing his resistance that was wearing off every second against his raw need to kiss his Lady senseless).
"Marinette, I'll be okay. I'm with you. I'm the safest when you're here."
The relieved, beaming smile she wore put all the stars and suns to shame and once again, for the millionth time since he met her on both sides of the mask, he fell in love all over again.
