Hazel quickly ran into her room as she shut the door behind her and leaned her back against it. The moonlight glistened her tear as her eyes started to water.

"What am I going to do?" she questioned herself as she tried her hardest not to cry. "He really is Onyx, which means Cameron isn't far behind. What should I do? Do I stay? Or run? They said they would help but—-." she was interrupted by a familiar crackling laughter that came from the mirror. Hazel gasped and fell backwards as she saw the image of the mad lavender witch herself appear in the mirror.

"Help? You?" her mirror image asked.

"Go away." Hazel said defeatingly.

"Oh little Hazel, if I did that would only be more painful for you."

"Then I see no reason for you to stay! Just leave me alone!"

"I thought we said innocence doesn't really fit your character quite well, sweetheart. I guess that's why you snapped at your brother so hard."

"He is not Onyx. He's an imposter!"

"Do you really hold that much of a grudge or are you just afraid of telling them the monster you really are? You can play your little courageous and guilt free act all you want but dare I say, I think that you are even worse than me."

"Would you please just leave me alone!"

"Alright. I'll leave you alone just like how you left your poor innocent brothers alone." Mim sneered, knowing this was exactly how to get under her the stubborn girl's skin.

"Don't even."

"Such a shame that they perished coming to your rescue Hazel, even after what you said to them on that night. But now that I think of it it makes sense why that scrawny moron fears you."

"He does not fear me!" Hazel said fiercely.

"Not yet."

"What?"

"Your family isn't the only one who is poisoned by your presence. It won't be long until he is afflicted with the same pain from you."

"What are you talking about? How do you know my future?"

"I know everything about you Hazel. I know every little thought in your head that you try to ignore. Your past as well as your tragic future."

"What do you mean by tragic?" Hazel hissed.

"Oh maybe I shouldn't have said anything." she said, knowing she was hooking the girl.

"Ok then, hypothetically speaking, let's just say you were right, what happens?"

"In about fifteen years from now you two will be married….to each other. However you, like the selfish backstabbing rat you are, will betray him."

"What?"

"You kissed a pratty knight by the name of Lancelot and were exiled from England, never to be seen again."

"Wh…..what?"

"Oh I should show you some time. It was so pathetic, just like you. You really do enjoy making people suffer. If I didn't know any better I'd say you deserve what is going to happen to you—oops!" the witch said as she dramatically covered her mouth with her hand.

"No…you're lying."

"You can't keep using that same excuse for everything. And besides, you're nothing but a liar yourself."

"You have been doing this for the last three nights and personally, I am sick of it! It has lasted long enough! I know what I've caused is terrible, but I don't need you to remind me of it every single night!"

"Oh you do make me laugh. Your efforts to escape who you are deeply intrigue me. You want to wipe it so badly off your prospectus of life, but your horrible deeds cannot be removed. And it is quite a shame that you have much more to come."

"A group of nobles murdering my brothers is not my fault!"

"Yeah but abandoning your lovie is! Do vows not mean anything to you?"

"Wha…no I—."

"You know what, I'm feeling a bit generous tonight. So maybe I'll give you a little blast from the past. And a little taste of the future. But if you find me our little treasure, maybe I'll change my mind."

"Never in a million years."

"Fine. If you don't want to behave, I will show you how evil you really are. Keep this in mind Hazel," her voice echoed. "You caused everything you are about to see." The witch cackled as she casted a spell to make several blurry and vague scenes appear in the girl's mind. Some recognizable, and some not.

Five children (Hazel and her older brothers) stood in a room while they argued.

"You're the reason they left Onyx! I never got to see them because they didn't like you!" Hazel's five year old self yelled.

"How can you even say something like that, Gwenny!?" the young Emperor yelled.

"Gwenny we're all sad about it! But yelling isn't gonna change anything!"

"I do not care, Timmy!"

"Would you just calm down Gwenny!? We will figure something out to fix this." Alexander yelled.

"No! No I will not! I hate being a princess! And I hate you! I hate all of you!" little Guinevere said before she ran out of the room crying, and deciding she was going to run away like most children her age did. Not knowing she was never going to see her family again.

Hazel couldn't believe what she was seeing. This had to be the worst mistake she had ever made, and she hated herself for it. The world went white again before she saw the Leodegrance castle's little garden. The sky was pale orange and everything was quiet. At least for the moment.

"No," Hazel whispered to herself. "No! Not this day!"

"Come with me brother!" the dreaded voice of Cameron yelled. "Guinevere is hurt in the garden!" he lied.

"NO!" Hazel screamed. "No! No! No! Don't listen to him, Onnie!"

"Cameron, you found her? Where is she? What has happened to her?" Onyx asked, worrying about his tiny sister who could not defend herself.

"No! Please! Get out of there!" Hazel yelled as the tears started to come out. "No! I..I have to stop this!" But she couldn't. This was only an act of mind transportation. A simple nightmare. And all she could do was watch.

"She must have fallen! I think her leg is broken!" Cameron said as they reached the garden.

Hazel wanted to push them all out of the way, but she knew she wasn't really there. All she could do was watch their horrid fate unfold.

"No! All of you, get away from him!" She started to sob even harder. "You all came here for me..and you….," she spoke between her uncontrollable sobbing. "I'm sorry….it's…it's my fault….."

The Emperor and his brothers were confused when they saw a group of men who held blades and clubs in their hands while simultaneously staring at the four boys.

"What is this?" vision Onyx asked, concerned.

"Oh nothing brother. Just the family irony."

"Cameron, where is my sister!?" Hazel's half brother turned around and smirked.

"Some secrets are worth dying for."

Hazel covered her eyes and wept even louder as she heard the slaughtering of the young boys begin. Their screams and cries were unbearable. And it was all because of her.

"No….. Please!...I'm sorry!" She was now breaking out in tears. It sounded like she was dying. "It's m-m-my fault-l-lt! I…..I…..oh…." Thankfully the horrible memory disappeared, only to be replaced by something even worse. The future. She didn't want to look. She didn't want to even listen. She barely wanted to live at the moment. Hazel saw a blurry image of a grown red headed woman she assumed to be herself. The background and seeding was unclear, all she saw were the woman as well as the man she was standing next to. His face was blurred, as was everything. But she could tell he had a complexion that was fairer than her own as well as black hair.

"N-no Lancelot. Please," an elder Guinevere said. She sounded like she was squirming. As if the man was grabbing her. "I take back what I said, I take it ALL back. Arthur will never forgive me for this!"

"Come now fair Guinevere. A meek soul is a humble soul, and a humble soul is a forgivable soul. Surely you will be forgiven for this."

"N—." Hazel saw their two faces come together which only made her cry even harder.

"Queen Guinevere, what are you doing!?" called a faint voice of a servant. The world quickly flashed white again and Hazel saw her future self kneeling and sobbing before a tall blonde man in red robes as the eyes of many people were on her.

"How could you!?" he yelled. Hazel saw her adult self only sob harder as the guilt built up even more. "I, King Arthur banish you from this kingdom, never again to spread your cruelty or let your manipulation harm anybody here or here again! And if you do not accept your punishment and leave before dawn, you are condemned to death!"

After what seemed like an eternity, the visions were wiped from Hazel's mind. But that had not made anything better. She was loudly sobbing on the ground.

"Now you see Hazel. Do you see the very suffering you will afflict?"

"I'm sorry!"

"You should be! Your guilt cannot even begin to make up for what you have done. You do not deserve to live after the innocent lives you have crushed. You are doing my job for me dear. You spread more chaos than I do, and we certainly can't have that."

"How..how do I stop it?" she said in an ugly crying voice.

"Stop it? You can't stop anything that you permanently break! Believe me, I should know."

"Please…I….I don't want to hurt him the way I hurt them….please!" she sobbed.

"I can't wait to see the look on his face when you break his heart. But don't worry, you shall receive a rightful punishment."

"What?"

"Well you see dearie, after you returned to England, despite being exiled, you still wanted to make amends. But I'm afraid it's too late. You really don't like taking warnings do you? Better yet, take them seriously. You see, the so-called 'ruler' will actually do something right for once: Burn you at the stake for treason. I won't give too many spoilers for you, but let's just say it'll be quite a hot shock….and yes, pun intended."

"No...no he wouldn't do that!" the girl said as she fought through tears.

"Oh, I'm afraid he would. But only to a true monster. And that monster is YOU!" she concluded that with a loud crackle.

"NO!" the redhead screamed as the witch's bust disappeared. Hazel dropped to the floor heavily crying. She wanted to die. "It's my fault…."

"Hazel?" Arthur asked as he entered her room in the early morning. She appeared to have passed out asleep on the floor, for that's where she was when he entered. "Hazel, wake up." he said as he shook her shoulder. He saw the girl slowly open her eyes and look up at him. However, something strange caught his attention: She looked scared. Scared of him. Her eyes widened and she sprouted up and quickly backed away from him and glued her back to the wall. He tried his best not to gasp when he saw her pink eyes. She looked like she had been crying or had not slept in months. And she hadn't. Hazel could not sleep through the entire night after the disturbing dreams and visions. She did not want to see him at the moment. This was the third night the witch had visited her, but none had been as awful as the last one. This sweet, naive and innocent boy, the little squirrel who she remembered meeting six months ago and falling head over heals for, was someday going to grow into someone who would ruthlessly burn her to death. "Are you alright?" he asked, quite curious.

"I'm fine," she said sternly. She could not bear to look at his face after knowing the pain she would cause him, and the eventual pain he would cause her. That is if she made it that far. "What do you want?" she asked straigh out.

"Well...you were asleep on the floor so-."

"I fell off the bed." she interrupted, quite coldly, which gave Arthur quite a shock.

"Oh...I see. Well, it got pretty heated between you two last night."

"Oh it's nothing. He's been a pig since he was nine."

"I didn't mean just that," Hazel still refused to look at him. "What you said last night was terrible."

"That's because it's true." she said with a glare.

"What?" Hazel shook her head.

"You don't get it and you never will. With him here I'm as good as dead." And if I'm not, you'll make sure I am one day.

"No you're not!"

"Says you, you hypocrite." she muttered.

"H-huh?"

"Nothing." she said as she glared at the floor.

"Hey...what's wrong with you?" he asked, suspiciously concerned now.

"I don't know. How do you know it's me? How do you know there's nothing wrong with you, you amadan!?" she snapped, but then started bursting out crying. She backed into the corner and started to weep into her knees. Arthur wanted nothing more than to run away and hide, for her knew how fragile and dangerous female emotions could be. Anybody would have just left and walked away...but he couldn't. He sat down at her side and just let her weep. "Please...just go away." she cried.

"Hazel...please tell me...what's the matter?" he asked as he moved the hair out of her face. But what he didn't expect was for her to fall forward on him and still cry.

"Please...don't kill me!" she cried in his shirt. Arthur widened his eyes at what he had just heard.

"What did you just say?" he whispered.

"Please don't burn me! I don't wanna die Arthur! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! It was my fault! It was my fa..." she continued to sob. The boy was confused. But this was the second time he had made her cry, and he didn't want to treat it like he did the last time. He slowly and gently hugged her as she continued to cry.

"What was your fault?" he asked, but she never answered. She just whimpered and gasped. "If you're saying what I think you're saying, I'm not gonna hurt you Hazel. I promise I never will. And if that's not what you're saying, then Cameron won't hurt you. You're safe here."

"You don't know that." she sniffed.

"Ok maybe I don't. But I promise nothing bad is gonna happen to you. I believe that, and you're gonna believe that. Because sometimes that's all you can have: Hope. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that hope is something you can't see, you have to believe in it, just like magic," He sighed. "Hazel, sometimes we just have to believe in something. Sometimes we just have to believe in magic."

"That's not what you'll say when I betray you," she said to herself quietly. "B-b-but thank you. I'm sorry for what I said," Hazel reached into the hidden pockets of her clothing and felt for the same golden key on the red ribbon Merlin had given back to her. She squeezed it in her hand before she made her decision, and then, she pulled it out and into the blonde's view. "Oh and uh, by the way," she said as she slowly but surely dropped the key into his hand. "This is for you. I know it seems worthless but believe me, it is very valuable."

"Oh thank you. But why do you want to give it to me? You seemed pretty attached to it when you first got here."

"That was then, this is now. That key belonged to Guinevere. I am Hazel and it is time to let it go. But just promise you'll take care of it. And you can't tell anybody about it. It is our secret."

"Of course I will. But what does it do?"

"I know this sounds ridiculous but I don't even know. All I know is that it was a valuable gift in my family back in Scotland. The purpose of it though is another question, for another time."

"I see. And I promise I'll always keep it."

"You don't know how much that means," Hazel said as she watched him deeply observe the key. 'If I am going to die soon I might as well do this now.' she thought. "Oh and Arthur."

"Yeah?" he asked, still looking at the key, completely oblivious when Hazel stood on her toes and kissed his face. The girl stood up and slowly made her way to the door, leaving the boy astonished, surprised and flattered.

"Bye." she said in a cute voice after a sniff as she gently waved and headed out the door. Little did they both know that would be the last time they would ever see each other.
