Dean (voiceover)

Previously on Supernatural...

November 2, 1983

The Winchesters' suburban home.

WHAT HAPPENED THAT NIGHT

Mary runs up the stairs and into Sam's nursery.

John gives baby Sam to me. "Take your brother outside as fast as you can! Now, Dean, go!" John tells me

I run downstairs with Sam. John looks back.

WHAT THEY WITNESSED

Mary burns on the ceiling.

"Mary! No!" John screams.

John watches the nursery burn, Mary with it.

SENT TWO BROTHERS AND LATER, THEIR YOUNGER TWIN SISTERS

December 24th, 1989

Maternal Unit, Hospital

Two couples this day were giving birth two sets of twins. John had remarried to a woman, Angel Gianna Winchester nee Williams (Mary look alike with red hair) for a short time and then Bobby Singer and his wife, Karen were there, John was expecting girls, Bobby and Karen, sons.

John's wife of two years delivered the twins, but she was a tiny thing and didn't survive the birth as she was injured by a Siren. John named his daughters Laila Melek Winchester (Willow Shields FC) and Lorelai Freyja Winchester (Sierra McCormick FC). Bobby's wife, Karen Singer had sons they named Hadraniel Seraphiel Singer (Timothee Chalamet FC) and Raziel Harahel Singer (Nick Jonas FC). They would grow and learn to hunt with their brothers for the Winchester sisters and with Ellen and Jo for the Singer boys' years after their mom die.

On Sylvania Bridge, Lore, Sam, Lei and I turn to face the onlookers.

In Sam's apartment, I speak to Sam, Lei, Jess and Lore.

"Dad's on a hunting trip." I speak.

Outside Contance's house, Dean and Lore fire through the Impala's window at Constance.

In Sam's bedroom, Sam pulls out his curved knife.

In Sam's apartment, I tell to Sam, Jess, Lore and Lei.

"And he hasn't been home in a few days." I tell the other Winchesters.

ON A QUEST FOR ANSWERS 22 YEARS LATER FOR THE BROTHERS, 16 FOR THE SISTERS

In the stairwell from Sam's apartment, Sam speaks to me.

"I swore I was done hunting." Sam tells me.

In the Impala, Constance tries to rip Sam's heart out.

"I can't do this without you." I tell Sam.

Blood drips on Sam's forehead and he flinches, opens his eyes, and gasps in horror. Jess is pinned to the ceiling, bleeding.

"No!" Sam shouts

Sam finishes loading a shotgun and tosses it in the Impala's trunk.

"We've got work to do." Sam says.

In the Jericho County sheriff's office, the Sheriff throws down John's journal.

"This is Dad's single—" I start to say. I hold Dad's journal out to Sam. "—most valuable possession—everything he knows about every evil thing is in here. And he's passed it on to us. I think he wants us to—" I continue on. "—pick up where he left off." I speak.

Sam pulls me inside the motel room.

"You know, saving people." I speak.

Sam, Lore, Lei and I guard Haley and Ben.

"Hunting things." I speak.

I talk to Sam. "The family business." I speak.

"No. I gotta find Jessica's killer." Sam tells me.

Sam approaches Jess's grave.

"It's the only thing I can think about." Sam tells me.

I talk to Sam, both leaning on the Impala.

"Sam, Lore, Lei, you know we're gonna find Dad, right?" I ask my younger siblings

Sam nods. "Yeah. I know." Sam says.

A still frame of a tropical beach scene. Hawaiian-style music plays.

Third Person POV

Airport – Day

A plane taking off is heard.

A very nervous man in a suit, George Phelps, sits up. Phelps checks his ticket and enters the bathroom.

"Thank you for flying United Britannia Airlines." the lady on the intercom says.

Airport Bathroom

Phelps is leaning over the sink, splashing water on his face. A second man comes out of the stall area and dries his hands.

"Nervous flyer?" the second man asks George.

"It's that obvious, huh?" George asks.

"You know, what are the odds of dying in a plane crash? I mean, what? Twenty thousand to one?" the second man asks George.

Phelps watches him go.

"Wow. That's, uh, really reassuring. Thank you." Phelps tells the guy.

Above his head, a cloud of black particles exits a vent, swirls around his head, and enters his eyes.

Plane

"Thanks." the Pilot says. The Pilot, Chuck, turns and addresses a Flight Attendant, Amanda. "Amanda, how are you today?" Chuck asks Amanda.

"I'm doing just fine, Chuck." Amanda tells Chuck.

Amanda addresses a passenger. "Welcome aboard. 15C towards the back of the plane, on the right." Amanda tells the passenger.

"Thank you." the passenger tells Amanda.

Amanda addresses Phelps. "Have a nice flight, sir." Amanda tells George.

Phelps turns, and it is seen that his eyes are completely black, even the whites. "Oh, I'm counting on it." Phelps says.

Amanda blinks several times, watching Phelps, and shakes her head.

"Um...uh, 11F, that's the middle of the plane, on..." Amanda starts to say.

"Thank you." another passenger says.

"...the left." Amanda finishes saying after the passenger boards the plane.

Plane

"In just a few minutes our flight crew will begin room service in the cabin..." the Copilot says.

Phelps turns to his seatmate.

"Excuse me. Do you know how long we've been up?" Phelps asks her.

"Oh, uh..." the woman says. The woman checks her watch. "About forty minutes." the woman says.

"Wow. Time really does fly, huh? Excuse me. I've got to stretch my legs." Phelps says.

Phelps gets up, squeezes past the woman, and heads to the back of the plane. When he reaches the rear exit, he grasps the release handle. A young man in an aisle seat, Max Jaffe, notices him.

"Hey, what the hell are you doing?!" Max asks Phelps.

Phelps turns to look at Max, eyes black again, then rips the door open. He goes flying out the window, the door flies off tearing half a wing off the plane, and the plane goes down. Amanda struggles to get to a seat and, after the oxygen masks deploy, to get one over her face. Max, Chuck, and the Copilot already have them on.

Motel Room – Day

Lei POV

Dean is asleep on his stomach, his daughters by him as it our week with the kids, given that nothing that we can't handle happens.

As the door opens, Dean awakens and so does Tori and Joan and slips a hand under his pillow for a weapon.

As he turns to look, he sees Sam entering with Henry, Kate, Prim, and Liam, carrying coffee and pastries.

"Morning, Sunshines." Sam tells us.

"What time is it?" Dean asks Sam.

"Uh, it's about five forty-five." Sam tells Dean.

"In the morning?" Dean growls at Sam.

"Sam... you better explain why you woke me up at Five o'clock in the morning!" Lore practically growls, but not screaming as she doesn't want to wake Evander and Alexander.

"Yep. And huh is that the time? I gotta go brush my teeth!" Sam says, scared of Lore.

"Where does the day go?" Dean asks, scared as well, as he knows Lore's the night owl and I rise with the sun. Dean sits up. "Did you get any sleep last night?" Dean asks Sam.

"Yeah, I grabbed a couple hours." Sam fibs.

"Liar. 'Cause I was up at three, and you were watching a George Foreman infomercial. Sides, our kids don't exactly help with sleep schedules and needed changes." Dean tells Sam

"Hey, what can I say? It's riveting TV." Sam tells Dean.

"When was the last time you got a good night's sleep?" Dean asks Sam.

"I don't know, a little while, I guess. It's not a big deal." Sam tells Dean and I start tapping my foot.

"Yeah, it darn well is Samuel William Winchester! And Dean Michael Winchester! You should have made him go to bed!" I tell them.

"Yeah, it is." Dean says at the same time I start my rant and winces when I say his full name.

"Look, I appreciate your concern—" Sam says.

"Oh, I'm not concerned about you. It's your job to keep my ass alive, so I need you sharp." Dean tells Sam.

Sam shrugs.

I growl and so does Lore, foot tapping.

"Seriously, are you still having nightmares about Jess?" Dean asks Sam and gets an elbow in the stomach, curtesy of Lorelai.

Sam crosses the room, sits on the other bed, and hands a coffee to Dean, Lore, and me, giving juice or milk to the little ones, except Kate as she's still on formula.

"Yeah. But it's not just her. It's everything. I just forgot; you know? This job. Man, it gets to you." Sam tells us.

"You can't let it. You can't bring it home like that." Dean tells Sam.

"So, what? All this it...never keeps you up at night?" Sam asks Dean.

Dean shakes his head.

"Never? You're never afraid?" Sam asks Dean.

"No, not really." Dean says.

Sam reaches under Dean's pillow to pull out a large hunting knife and holds it up as evidence.

Dean takes the knife back. "That's not fear. That is precaution." Dean tells Sam.

"All right, whatever. I'm too tired to argue." Sam tells Dean.

Dean's phone rings. He answers it. "Hello?" Dean asks.

Office

"Dean, it's, uh, it's Jerry Panowski. You and your dad helped me out a couple years back." Jerry tells Dean over the phone.

Motel Room

"Oh, right, yeah. Up in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, the poltergeist thing. It's not back, is it?" Dean asks Jerry.

Office

"No. No. Thank God, no. But it's something else, and...uh, I think it could be a lot worse." I hear Jerry tell Dean.

Motel Room

"What is it?" Dean asks him.

Office

"Can we talk in person?" Jerry asks Dean.

Motel Room

Dean eyes us. We eye back. Lore and I call Harry and Razi, just in case we need babysitters.

Field

The Impala drives along a road.

Hangar

"Thanks for making the trip so quick. I ought to be doing you guys a favor, not the other way around. Dean and your dad really helped me out." Jerry tells us.

"Yeah, he told me. It was a poltergeist?" Sam asks Jerry.

"Poltergeist? Man, I loved that movie." a man says as he passes us.

"Hey, nobody's talking to you. Keep walking. Damn right it was a poltergeist, practically tore our house apart. Tell you something, if it wasn't for you and your dad, I probably wouldn't be alive. Your dad said you were off at college. Is that right?" Jerry asks Sam the last bit.

"Yeah, I was. I'm—taking some time off." Sam tells Jerry.

"Well, he was real proud of you. I could tell. He talked about you all the time." Jerry said what Lore and I knew all along.

"He did?" Sam asks Jerry.

"Yeah, you bet he did. Oh, hey, you know I tried to get a hold of him, but I couldn't. How's he doing, anyway?" Jerry asks us.

"He's, um, wrapped up in a job right now." Dan says.

"Well, we're missing the old man, but we get Sam. Even trade, huh?" Jerry says.

Dean laughs, I smirk, and Lore smiles.

"No, not by a long shot." Sam says and with that attitude, I smack him upside the head, and Lorelai elbows him.

"I got something I want you guys to hear." Jerry tells us, and since the kids are with Harry and Razi, we don't have to worry about a time limit, unless they can't handle it.

Office

"I listened to this. And, well, it sounded like it was up your alley." Jerry tells us. Jerry puts a CD in a drive.

"Normally I wouldn't have access to this. It's the cockpit voice recorder for United Britannia flight 2485. It was one of ours." Jerry says.

''Mayday! Mayday! Repeat! This is United Britania 2485—immediate instruction help! United Britania 2485, I copy your message—May be experiencing some mechanical failure..." a man on the recording says.

There is a loud whooshing sound.

"Took off from here, crashed about two hundred miles south. Now, they're saying mechanical failure. Cabin depressurized somehow. Nobody knows why. Over a hundred people on board. Only seven got out alive. Pilot was one. His name is Chuck Lambert. He's a good friend of mine. Chuck is, uh...well, he's pretty broken up about it. Like it was his fault." Jerry tells us.

"You don't think it was? " Sam asks Jerry.

"No, I don't." Jerry says.

"Jerry, we're gonna need passenger manifests, um, a list of survivors." Sam tells Jerry.

"All right." Jerry says.

"And, uh, any way we can take a look at the wreckage?" Dean asks Jerry.

"The other stuff is no problem. But the wreckage...fellas, the NTSB has it locked down in an evidence warehouse. No way I've got that kind of clearance." Jerry tells us.

Dean frowns. "No problem." Dean says.

Street

Lore POV

Sam is waiting by the car outside a Copy Jack. As Dean exits, an attractive woman enters.

"Hey." the woman tells Dean.

"Hi." Dean tells the woman.

"You've been in there forever." Sam tells Dean.

Dean holds up two IDs. "You can't rush perfection." Dean tells Sam.

"Most likely you were flirting... again." Laila points out, as she draws angels for Lucas, and in the background are protection symbols.

"Laila has a point De. You are known to flirt... a lot." I say.

"Homeland Security?" Sam asks Dean.

Sam takes one of the IDs. "That's pretty illegal, even for us." Sam tells Dean.

"Yeah, well, it's something new. You know? People haven't seen it a thousand times." Dean tells Sam.

Sam, Dean, Lei, and I get in the car.

"All right, so, what do you got?" Dean asks Sam.

"Well, there's definitely EVP on the cockpit voice recorder." Sam tells us.

"Yeah?" Dean asks.

"Listen." Sam says. He plays the tape, which has been edited to pull out a scratchy voice.

"No survivors!" the EVP says and me and Laila sit up straight, chills running down our backs for a reason.

""No survivors?" What's that supposed to mean? There were seven survivors." Dean says.

"Got me." Sam says.

"So, what are you thinking? A haunted flight?" Dean asks Sam.

"There's a long history of spirits and death omens on planes and ships, like phantom travelers." Sam tells us.

"Mm-hmm." Dean says

"Uh huh." Laila says.

"Yeah." I say.

"Or remember flight 401?" Sam asks us.

"Right. The one that crashed, the airline salvaged some of its parts, put it in other planes, then the spirit of the pilot and copilot haunted those flights." Dean tells us.

"Right." Sam says.

"Yep." Dean says.

"Maybe we got a similar deal." Sam tells us.

"All right, so, survivors, which one do you want to talk to first?" Dean asks Sam.

"Third on the list: Max Jaffe." Sam tells Dean.

"Why him?" Dean asks Sam.

"Well, for one, he's from around here. And two, if anyone saw anything weird, he did." Sam tells us, as Laila reads Interview with A Vampire, and so, she's not really paying attention.

"What makes you say that?" Dean asks Sam.

"Well, I spoke to his mother." Sam tells Dean.

Hospital

The Impala is parked in front of the gate to a building with a sign out front reading RIVERFRONT PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL.

"And she told me where to find him." Sam told Dean.

Garden at Hospital

Max is walking with a cane between Sam and Dean. "I don't understand. I already spoke with Homeland Security." Max told Dean and Sam.

"Right. Some new information has come up. So, if you could just answer a couple questions..." Dean says to Max.

"Only if you're comfortable answering them." I tell Max.

"We don't want to force you in any way." Laila says.

"Just before the plane went down, did you notice anything...unusual?" Sam asks Max.

"Like what?" Max asks us.

"Strange lights, weird noises, maybe. Voices." Dean tells Max.

"No, nothing." Max tells Dean.

"Mr. Joffe—" Dean says.

"Jaffe." Max corrects Dean and it makes me and Laila giggle.

"Jaffe. You checked yourself in here, right?" Dean asks Max.

Max nods.

"Can I ask why?" Dean asks Max.

"I was a little stressed. I survived a plane crash." Max tells us.

"Uh huh. And that's what terrified you? That's what you were afraid of?" Dean asks Max.

"I...I don't want to talk about this anymore." Max tells Dean.

"See, I think maybe you did see something up there. We need to know what." Dean tells Max.

"Leave Max alone!" Lei and I say.

"No. No, I was...delusional. Seeing things." Max says, then ruffles our hair in thanks for sticking up for him.

"He was seeing things." Dean says.

"It's okay. Then just tell us what you thought you saw, please." Sam tells Max

"There was...this—man. And, uh, he had these...eyes—these, uh...black eyes. And I saw him—or I thought I saw him..." Max says.

"What?" Dean asks Max.

"He opened the emergency exit. But that's...that's impossible, right? I mean, I looked it up. There's something like two tons of pressure on that door." Max tells us.

"Yeah." Dean says.

"This man, uh, did he seem to appear and disappear rapidly? It would look something like a mirage?" Sam asks Max.

"What are you, nuts?" Max asks Sam.

Sam tilts his head.

"He was a passenger. He was sitting right in front of me." Max tells us.

Street

The Impala pulls up in front of a house.

"So here we are. George Phelps, seat 20C." Sam tells us.

"Hmm. Man, I don't care how strong you are." Dean says.

Dean, Sam, Lei, and I get out of the car.

"Even yoked up on PCP or something, no way you can open up an emergency door during a flight." Dean tells us.

"Not if you're human. But maybe this guy George was something else. Some kind of creature, maybe, in human form." Sam tells Dean.

"Like a werewolf." Laila says.

"Or a kitsune." I speak.

"Does that look like a creature's lair to you?" Dean asks us.

Sam, Lei, and I turn to look at the perfectly ordinary house.

"Since when has that mattered De?" I ask Dean.

Inside the Phelps House

Dean, Sam, Laila, and I sit across from Mrs. Phelps. Sam is looking at a framed photograph.

"This is your late husband?" Sam asks Mrs. Phelps.

"Yes, that was my George." Mrs. Phelps tells us.

"And you said he was a... dentist?" Dean asks, the dentist getting stuck in his throat as he hates dentists.

Laila and I can't help but snicker at that.

"Mm-hm. He was headed to a convention in Denver. Do you know that he was petrified to fly? For him to go like that..." Mrs. Phelps says.

"How long were you married?" Sam asks Mrs. Phelps.

"Thirteen years." Mrs. Phelps tells Sam.

"In all that time, did you ever notice anything...strange about him, anything out of the ordinary?" Sam asks Mrs. Phelps.

"Well...uh, he had acid reflux, if that's what you mean." Mrs. Phelps tells us.

Dean, Sam, Laila, and I look at each other.

Outside the Phelps House

Sam, Dean, Laila, and I come down the stairs out front.

"I mean it goes without saying. It just doesn't make any sense." Sam tells us.

"A middle-aged dentist with an ulcer is not exactly evil personified. You know what we need to do is get inside that NTSB warehouse, check out the wreckage." Dean says.

"Okay. But if we're gonna go that route, we'd better look the part." Sam tells us.

"We already have suits!" Laila and I say.

Suit Rental Shop

Dean POV

Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" begins to play.

Sam and I exit a store, "MORT'S for style", wearing crisp black suits with white shirts. Sam adjusts his collar. Lorelai and Laila are already in their suits, well really their school uniform, coats hiding them until later.

"Man, I look like one of the Blues Brothers." I say, and Laila rolls her eyes.

"No, you don't. You look more like a...seventh-grader at his first dance." Sam tells him.

Finished with my woman
'Cause she couldn't help me with my mind

I look down at himself. "I hate this thing." I tell them and Laila chuckles.

People think I'm insane

"Hey. You want into that warehouse or not?" Sam asks me.

Because I am frowning all the time

I start the Impala, Sam already sitting shotgun, and Lore and Laila in the back, Harry texting Laila. Asking for help with every little task and Laila has to walk him through everything, though he is a teen and he's babysitting eight Winchesters.

December 4, 2005

Storage Warehouse

We enter the warehouse and Dean and Sam show their badges to the Security Guard, who nods and lets them in, then he goes to stop us, which is when we take off our coats and say we heard what happened and came to pray for the lost passengers. We are let through as we touched the man's heart. We walk among plane wreckage; Dean pulls out a device and puts earbuds in his ears.

"What is that?" Sam asks Dean.

"It's an EMF meter. Reads electromagnetic frequencies." Dean tells Sam.

"Yeah, I know what an EMF meter is, but why does that one look like a busted-up walkman?" Sam asks Dean.

"'Cause that's what I made it out of. It's homemade." Dean boasts. Dean grins.

"Yeah, I can see that." Sam says and I smack him upside the head.

Dean's grin disappears. Dean runs the EMF meter over a piece of the wreckage with yellow dust on it and gets an audible spike. "Check out the emergency door handle." Dean tells us. Dean scratches at the yellow dust and gets some on his hand. "What is this stuff?" Dean asks us.

"One way to find out." Sam tells Dean. Sam scrapes some of the yellow dust off into a bag.

Security Desk of Storage Warehouse

Two Agents in black suits approach the security desk and show their badges.

"Homeland Security? What, one team of you guys isn't enough?" the Security Guard asks the Agents.

"What are you talking about?" one Agent asked.

"Two of your buddies went inside not five minutes ago." the Security Guard tells the Agents.

The second Agent looks at the first.

Storage Warehouse

The Agents and several Security Guards bust in, guns drawn, and search. Sam, Dean, Lore, and I hear them coming. The Agents and Guards see nothing.

Storage Warehouse

Sam, Dean, Lore, and I peer around a corner and walk out casually. An alarm blares, and they run to the gated exit. Pulling off his suit jacket, Dean throws it over the barbed wire at the top of the fence, and they climb over. He grabs the jacket.

"Well, these monkey suits do come in handy." Dean says.

Dean runs off and Sam, Lore, and I follow.

Third Person POV

December 5, 2005

Airport – Day

Chuck is sitting nervously in a chair. His Copilot is giving him a pep talk.

"Listen, Chuck. It's like getting back on a horse. Only in this case, a little twin engine. Not even a horse, more like a pony. I'll be right there with you too. Anytime you feel like you don't want the wheel, I'll take over. Look, Chuck, we don't have to do this today. I'm not trying to rush you." the copilot tells Chuck.

"No, the...the waiting is worse." Chuck tells the copilot.

The Copilot glances over his shoulder. "Okay, they're filling up the tank. Then we go." the copilot says.

The Copilot gets up and leaves. Chuck takes a drink of coffee. Behind him, a cloud of black particles exits a vent and rushes into Chuck's eyes.

Laila POV

Jerry's Office

Jerry looks at the yellow stuff through a microscope; what the microscope sees is replicated on a screen. "Huh. This stuff is covered in sulfur." Jerry tells us.

"You're sure?" Sam asks Jerry.

"Take a look for yourself." Jerry tells Sam.

Banging sounds from outside the office.

"You effin' piece of crap..." a man tells a piece of machinery

"If you fellows and ladies will excuse me, I have an idiot to fire." Jerry tells us.

As Jerry leaves, Dean goes over and looks into the microscope.

"Hey. Einstein. Yeah, you. What the heck you doing? Put the wrench down—" Jerry tells the man.

"Hmm. You know, there's not too many things that leave behind a sulfuric residue." Dean says.

"Demonic possession?" Sam asks Dean.

"It would explain how a mortal man would have the strength to open up an emergency hatch." Dean tells us.

"If the guy was possessed, it's possible." Sam says.

"This goes way beyond floating over a bed or barfing pea soup. I mean it's one thing to possess a person, but to use them to take down an entire airplane?" Dean asks, skeptical.

"You ever heard of something like this before?" Sam asks Dean.

"Never." Dean tells Sam.

Third Person POV

Airport Tarmac

The Copilot is waiting by a small plane; Chuck, looking cheerful and relaxed, approaches.

"I'm ready. Let's do this." Chuck tells the Copilot

The Copilot, confused, laughs and follows Chuck to the plane.

Plane in Flight

"How are you feeling?" the Copilot asks Chuck.

"I feel great." Chuck tells the Copilot.

"You'll be back flying jumbos before you know it." the Copilot tells Chuck.

"I hope so. How long we been up?" Chuck asks the Copilot

"Uh...almost forty minutes." the Copilot says.

"Wow. Time really does fly." Chuck says. Chuck suddenly dives the plane towards the ground.

"What are you doing?" the copilot asks Chuck.

Chuck elbows the Copilot in the face. Chuck's eyes are black.

Road

A tractor is trundling by as the plane suddenly appears, crashing into a telephone pole and then the ground.

Laila POV

Motel Room

December 6, 2005

Dean, Sam, Lore, and I are in full research mode, with images and articles taped to the walls and strewn across the beds, and Sam is looking at something on the computer, after he had to get images of him and a guy, well drawings of him and a guy off of his computer. Dean is reading something on one bed while sitting on the other, after he had to get the wet paint off Baby and clean her. Bobby comes in, apparently Harry and Razi want to help on the hunt and, they keep freaking out every ten seconds.

"So, every religion in every world culture has the concept of demons and demonic possession, right? I mean Christian, Native American, Hindu, you name it." Sam tells us

"Yeah, but none of them describe anything like this." Dean tells Sam.

"Well, that's not exactly true. You see according to Japanese beliefs, certain demons are behind certain disasters, both natural and man-made. One causes earthquakes, another causes disease." Sam tells Dean.

"And this one causes plane crashes?" Dean asks Sam. Dean gets up. "All right, so, what? We have a demon that's evolved with the times and found a way to ratchet up the body count?" Dean asks Sam.

"Yeah. You know, who knows how many planes it's brought down before this one?" Sam asks.

Dean snorts, turning away.

"What?" Sammy asks Dean.

"I don't know, man. This isn't our normal gig. I mean, demons, they don't want anything, just death and destruction for its own sake. This is big. And I wish Dad was here."

"Yeah. Me too." Sam says.

"Me third." Lore says.

"Me fourth." I say.

Dean's phone rings and he answers it.

"Hello?" Dean asks.

"Dean, it's Jerry." Jerry tells Dean.

"Oh, hey, Jerry." Dean tells Jerry.

"My pilot friend...Chuck Lambert is dead." Jerry tells Dean.

"Wha—Jerry, I'm sorry. What happened?" Dean asks.

"He and his buddy went up in a small twin about an hour ago. The plane went down." Jerry tells Dean.

"Where'd this happen?" Dean asks Jerry.

"About sixty miles west of here, near Nazareth." Jerry tells Dean.

"I'll try to ignore the irony in that." Dean tells Jerry.

"I'm sorry?" Jerry asks Dean.

"Nothing. Jerry, hang in there, all right? We'll catch up with you soon." Dean tells Jerry. Dean hangs up.

"Another crash?" Sam asks Dean.

"Yeah. Let's go." Dean says.

"Where?" Sam asks Dean.

"Nazareth." Dean tells us.

Road

The 1967 Impala, 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS, and 2004 Ford Mustang Mach 1, drive past a road sign reading NAZARETH 3. Black smoke is visible in the near distance.

Jerry's Office

Jerry is again looking through a microscope.

"Sulfur?" Dean asks Jerry.

Jerry nods.

"Well, that's great. All right, that's two plane crashes involving Chuck Lambert. This demon sounds like it was after him." Dean says.

"With all due respect to Chuck, if that's the case, that would be the good news." Sam tells us and I growl.

"What's the bad news?" Dean asks Sam.

"Chuck's plane went down exactly forty minutes into flight. And get this, so did flight 2485." Sam tells Dean.

"Forty minutes? What does that mean?" Jerry asks Sam.

"It's biblical numerology. You know Noah's ark, it rained for forty days. The number means death." Dean tells Jerry.

"I went back, and there have been six plane crashes over the last decade that all went down exactly forty minutes in." Sam tells us.

"Any survivors?" Dean asks Sam.

"No. Or not until now, at least, not until flight 2485, for some reason. On the cockpit voice recorder, remember what the EVP said?" Sam asked Dean

"No survivors." Dean says. Dean thinks. "It's going after all the survivors. It's trying to finish the job." Dean says.

Impala – Night

Dean is driving. Sam is on the phone. Rush's "Working Man" plays, and Lore and I are pouting as they made us ride with them, yet again.

"Really? Well, thank you for taking our survey, and if you do plan to fly, please don't forget your friends at United Britannia Airlines. Thanks." Sam says. Sam hangs up. "All right. That takes care of Blaine Sanderson and Dennis Holloway. They're not flying anytime soon." Sam tells us.

'So, our only wildcard is the flight attendant Amanda Walker." Dean says.

"Right. Her sister Karen said her flight leaves Indianapolis at eight pm. It's her first night back on the job." Sam tells Dean.

Well, I get up at seven, yeah
And I go to work at nine

"That sounds like just our luck." Dean says.

"Dean, this is a five-hour drive, man, even with you behind the wheel." Sam tells Dean.

I got no time for livin' yeah
I'm working all the time

"Call Amanda's cellphone again, see if we can't head her off at the pass." Dean tells Sam.

It seems to me
I could live my life

"I already left her three voice messages. She must have turned her cellphone off." Sam says.

A lot better than I think I am

"God, we're never gonna make it." Sam tells us.

"We'll make it." Dean tells Sam.

I guess that's why they call me
They call me the working man

Airport

Dean, Sam, Lore, Harry, Razi, and I rush into the airport and check the Departure board.

Well, they call me the working man
I guess that's what I am

"Right there. They're boarding in thirty minutes." Sam tells us.

"Okay. We still have some cards to play. We need to find a phone." Dean tells Sam. Dean picks up a courtesy phone.

"Airport Services." the voice says.

"Hi. Gate thirteen." Dean says.

"Who are you calling, sir?" the voice asks.

"I'm trying to contact an Amanda Walker. She's a flight attendant on flight, um...flight 4-2-4." Dean says.

Third Person POV

Airport, Gate 13

"Amanda Walker, Amanda Walker, you have a phone call. White courtesy phone, gate thirteen." the PA voice says.

Amanda approaches the gate, hearing the announcement. She picks up the phone.

Lore POV

Airport

"Come on." Dean says

"This is Amanda Walker." Amanda says.

"Miss Walker. Hi, this is Dr. James Hetfield from St. Francis Memorial Hospital. We have a Karen Walker here." Dean tells Amanda.

"Karen?" Amanda says, over the phone.

"Nothing serious, just a minor car accident, but she was injured, so—" Dean tells Amanda.

"Wa—wait, that's impossible. I just got off the phone with her." Amanda tells Dean.

Dean pauses. "You what?" Dean asks Amanda.

"Five minutes ago. She's at her house, cramming for a final. Who is this?" Amanda asks Dean.

"Uh, well...there must be some mistake." Dean says.

"And how would you even know I was here?" Amanda asks Dean.

Sam goes around Dean to try to hear what's going on.

"Is this one of Vince's friends?" Amanda asks Dean.

"Guilty as charged." Dean says.

"Wow. This is unbelievable." Amanda tells Dean.

"He's really sorry." Dean tells Amanda.

"Well, you tell him to mind his own business and stay out of my life, okay?" Amanda tells Dean.

"Yes, but...he really needs to see you tonight, so—" Dean says.

"No, I'm sorry. It's too late." Amanda says.

"Don't be like that. Come on. The guy's a mess. Really. It's pathetic." Dean tells Amanda.

"Really?" Amanda asks Dean.

"Oh, yeah." Dean says.

"Look, I've got to go. Um...tell him to call me when I land." Amanda says. Amanda hangs up.

"No, no. Wait, Amanda. Amanda!" Dean says.

Amanda heads for the plane, greeting coworkers. "How are you? Hey, Bob." Amanda says.

The black cloud comes out of a vent, then goes back in.

Airport Check-In Area

"Damn it! So close." Dean says.

"Hey! We're going to save her." Laila says

"Trust in everything we know and everything we feel." I say.

"Thank you for flying United Britannia Airlines." the intercom voice says.

"All right, it's time for plan B. We're getting on that plane." Sam tells us.

"Whoa, whoa, now just hold on a second." Dean tells Sam. Dean is wide-eyed.

"Dean, that plane is leaving with over a hundred passengers on board, and if we're right, that plane is gonna crash." Sam tells Dean.

"I know." Dean tells Sam.

"Okay. So, we're getting on the plane, we need to find that demon and exorcise it. I'll get the tickets. You get whatever you can out of the trunk. Whatever that will make it through the security. Meet me back here in five minutes." Sam tells Dean.

Dean just looks at him anxiously.

"Are you okay?" Sam asks Dean.

"No, not really." Den tells Sam.

"What? What's wrong? " Sam asks Dean.

"Well, I kind of have this problem with, uh..." Dean says.

"Flying?" Sam asks Dean.

"It's never really been an issue until now." Dean tells Sam.

"You're joking, right?" Sam asks Dean.

"Do I look like I'm joking? Why do you think I drive everywhere, Sam?" Dean asks Sam.

"All right. Uh, I'll go." Sam says.

"What?" Dean asks Sam.

"I'll do this one with Razi, Harry, Lore and Laila. But you and I are usually a team." Sam says.

"What are you, nuts? You said it yourself, the plane's gonna crash." Dean says.

"Hey! I resent that!'' I speak.

"Yeah we've been hunting since e were five thank you!" Laila says.

"We know how to handle ourselves thank you!" Harry says, with Razi agreeing.

"Dean, we can do it all together, or I can do this one without you. I'm not seeing a third option, here." Sam says.

"Come on! Really? Man..." Dean says.

Plane

"Flight attendants, please cross-check doors before departure." the voice on the intercom says.

Dean, in the aisle seat, is anxiously reading the safety card.

"Just try to relax.'' Sam tells Dean

"Just try to shut up." Dean tells Sam.

The plane takes off, with Dean jumping at every rumble and sound. Sam smirks and I whack him over the head for that.

Plane in Flight

Dean is leaning back, humming to himself. Sam looks over.

"You're humming Metallica?" Sam asks Dean.

"Calms me down." Dean tells Sam.

"Look, man, I get you're nervous, all right? But you got to stay focused." Sam tells Dean.

"Okay." Dean says.

"I mean, we got thirty-two minutes and counting to track this thing down, or whoever it's possessing, anyway, and perform a full-on exorcism." Sam tells Dean

"Yeah, on a crowded plane. That's gonna be easy." Dean says.

"Just take it one step at a time, all right? Now, who is it possessing?" Sam asks Dean.

"It's usually gonna be somebody with some sort of weakness, you know, a chink in the armor that the demon can worm through. Somebody with an addiction or some sort of emotional distress." Dean tells Sam.

"Well, this is Amanda's first flight after the crash. If I were her, I'd be pretty messed up." Sam says.

"Mm-hm." Dean says. Dean turns to a Flight Attendant, who is not Amanda. "Excuse me. Are you Amanda?" Dean asks the Attendant.

"No, I'm not." she says.

"Oh, my mistake." Dean says.

"Mm-hm." the attendant says.

Dean looks to the back of the plane to Amanda. "All right, well, that's got to be Amanda back there, so I'll go talk to her, and, uh, I'll get a read on her mental state." Dean says.

"What if she's already possessed?" Sam asks Dean.

"There's ways to test that." Dean tells Sam. Dean goes into his bag and comes out with a Virgin Mary-shaped bottle of water. "I brought holy water." Dean says.

"No." Sam tells Dean. Sam snatches the bottle and tucks it inside his hoodie. "I think we can go more subtle. If she's possessed, she'll flinch at the name of God." Sam tells Dean.

"Oh. Nice." Dean says. Dean turns to go.

"Hey." Sam says.

"What?" Dean asks Sam.

"Say it in Latin." Sam tells Dean.

"I know." Dean says. Dean leaves again.

"Okay. Hey!" Sam says.

"What?!" Dean asks Sam.

"Uh, in Latin, it's "Christo". " Sam tells Dean.

"Dude, I know! I'm not an idiot!" Dean tells Sam. Dean makes his way to the back of the plane, thumping a seat once after the plane shakes.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your first officer speaking..." the Copilot says.

Amanda is fussing with the drink cart and napkins.

"Hi." Dean says, all the while me and Laila sneak the intercom thing and start singing.

"I surrender all to you

"Bow down and worship Him,
Worship Him

Bow down and worship Him,
Enter in
Oh, enter in
Bow down and worship Him,
Worship Him
Oh, worship Him
Bow down and worship Him,
Enter in

Bow down and worship Him,
Enter in
Oh, enter in
Consuming fire
Sweet perfume
His awesome presence fills this room
This is holy ground
This is holy ground
This is holy ground
So come and bow down"
I sing.

"Hi. Can I help you with something?" Amanda asks looking at us, smiling.

"Oh, no. I'm just a bit of an uneasy flier. It makes me feel better to walk around a little bit." Dean says.

"Oh, it happens to the best of us." Amanda tells Dean.

"Of course, you being a stewardess, I guess flying comes easy to you. " Dean says.

Amanda laughs. "You'd be surprised." Amanda tells Dean.

"Really? You're a nervous flier?" Dean asks Amanda.

"Yeah, maybe, little bit." Amanda says.

"How is it that, being a stewardess, you're scared to fly?" Dean asks Amanda.

"Kind of a long story." Amanda says.

"Right. I'm sorry for asking." Dean tells Amanda.

"It's okay." Amanda says.

"You ever consider other employment?" Dean asks Amanda.

"No. Look, everybody's scared of something. I just, uh...I'm not gonna let it hold me back." Amanda says.

"Huh." Dean says.

"So..." Amanda says.

"Christo." Dean says quietly.

"I'm sorry. Did you say something?" Amanda asks Dean

Dean hesitates and I step on his foot for cover.

"Christo?" Dean says, then glares at me, I smile sweetly

"I—I didn't, I didn't... know your sister was stepping on your foot." Amanda says.

"Yeah, it's nothing. Never mind." Dean says. Dean returns to his seat Laila returns to hers and I return to mine.

"Okay." Amanda says.

"All right, well, she's got to be the most well-adjusted person on the planet." Dean tells Sam.

"You said "Christo"?" Sam asks Dean.

"Yeah." Dean says.

"And?" Sam asks Dean.

"There's no demon in her. There's no demon getting in her." Dean tells Sam.

"So, if it's on the plane, it can be anyone. Anywhere." Sam says.

The plane shakes.

"Come on! That can't be normal!" Dean says.

"Hey, hey, it's just a little turbulence." Sam tells Dean.

"Sam, this plane is going to crash, okay? So quit treating me like I'm friggin' four." Dean tells Sam.

"You need to calm down." Sam says.

"Well, I'm sorry I can't." Dean tells Sam.

"Yes, you can." Sam tells Dean.

"Dude, stow the touchy-feely, self-help yoga crap, it's not helping." Dean tells Sam.

"Listen, if you're panicked, you're wide open to demonic possession, so you need to calm yourself down. Right now." Sam tells Dean.

Dean takes a long, slow breath.

"Good. Now, I found an exorcism in here that I think is gonna work. The Rituale Romanum." Sam tells Dean

"What do we have to do?" Dean asks Sam.

"It's two parts. The first part expels the demon from the victim's body. It makes it manifest, which actually makes it more powerful." Sam tells Dean.

"More powerful?" Dean asks.

"Yeah." Sam says.

"How?" Dean asks Sam.

"Well, it doesn't need to possess someone anymore. It can just wreak havoc on its own." Sam says.

"Oh. And why is that a good thing?" Dean asks Sam.

"Well, because the second part sends the bastard back to hell once and for all." Sam tells Dean.

"First things first, we got to find it." Dean walks slowly up the aisle with his EMF meter, getting odd looks but no readings. Sam suddenly claps him on the shoulder, and he jumps. "Ah! Don't do that." Dean tells Sam.

"Anything?" Sam asks Dean.

"No, nothing. How much time we got?" Dean asks Sam.

"Fifteen minutes. Maybe we missed somebody." Sam tells Dean.

"Maybe the thing's just not on the plane." Dean says.

"You believe that?" Sam asks Dean.

"Well, I will if you will." Dean tells looks down as the EMF meter spikes.

The Copilot exits the bathroom and heads towards the cockpit.

"What? What is it?" Sam asks Dean.

"Christo." Dean says, and for some reason all my hairs are on end.

The Copilot turns slowly to face them. His eyes are black. The Copilot goes into the cockpit. Dean looks at Sam.

Sam, Dean, Laila, Harry, Razi, and I head to the back of the plane towards Amanda.

"She's not gonna believe this." Sam tells us.

"Twelve minutes, dude." Dean tells Sam.

"Oh, hi. Flight's not too bumpy for you, I hope." Amanda tells Dean.

"Actually, that's kind of what we need to talk to you about." Dean tells Amanda.

Sam closes the curtain.

"Um, okay. What can I do for you?" Amanda asks us.

"All right, this is gonna sound nuts, but we just don't have time for the whole "the truth is out there" speech right now." Dean tells Amanda.

"All right, look, we know you were on flight 2485." Sam says.

Amanda's smile disappears. "Who are you guys?" Amanda asks us.

"Now, we've spoken to some of the other survivors. We know something brought down that plane and it wasn't a mechanical failure." Sam tells Amanda.

"We need your help because we need to stop it from happening again. Here. Now." Dean tells Amanda.

"I'm sorry, I—I'm very busy. I have to go back—" Amanda says.

She tries to brush past Dean, who stops her.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a second. I'm not gonna hurt you, okay? But listen to me, uh...The pilot in 2485, Chuck Lambert. He's dead." Dean tells Amanda.

"Wait. What? What, Chuck is dead?" Amanda asks Dean.

"He died in a plane crash. Now, that's two plane crashes in two months. That doesn't strike you as strange?" Dean asks Amanda.

"I—" Amanda goes to say.

"Look, there was something wrong with 2485. Now maybe you sensed it, maybe you didn't. But there's something wrong with this flight, too." Sam says.

"Amanda, you have to believe us." Dean says.

"On...on 2485, there was this man. He...had these eyes." Amanda tells us.

"Yes. That's exactly what we're talking about." Sam says.

"I don't understand, what are you asking me to do?" Amanda asks us.

"Okay. The copilot, we need you to bring him back here." Dean tells Amanda.

"Why? What does he have to do with anything?" Amanda asks Dean.

"Don't have time to explain. We just need to talk to him. Okay?" Dean says.

"How am I supposed to go in the cockpit and get the copilot—" Amanda starts to ask.

"Do whatever it takes. Tell him there's something broken back here, whatever will get him out of that cockpit." Sam tells her.

"Do you know that I could lose my job if you—" Amanda starts to say.

"Okay, well you're gonna lose a lot more if you don't help us out." Dean tells Amanda.

Amanda hesitates. "Okay." Amanda says. Amanda leaves and goes to the cockpit. She knocks on the door and says something inaudible to the copilot, who follows her back.

Sam pulls out the holy water. Dean pulls out Dad's journal and hands it to Sam, who opens it.

"Yeah, what's the problem?" the Copilot asks.

Dean punches him in the face, knocking him down. He pins him down and puts duct tape over his mouth.

"Wait. What are you doing? You said you were just gonna talk to him." Amanda tells Dean.

"We are gonna talk to him." Dean says. Dean splashes holy water on his skin, which sizzles.

"Oh, my god. What's wrong with him?" Amanda asks us.

"Look. We need you calm. We need you outside the curtain." Sam tells Amanda.

"Well, I don't underst—I don't know—" Amanda starts to say.

"Don't let anybody in, okay? Can you do that? Can you do that? Amanda?" Sam asks Amanda.

"Okay. Okay." Amanda says. Amanda leaves.

"Hurry up, Sam, Lore, Lei. I don't know how much longer Harry, Razi, and, I can hold him." Dean tells us."

"Regna terrae, cantate Deo, psallite Domino—" Sam, Lore and I say.

The Demon screeches as it breaks free briefly and hits them both until Dean, Harry, and Razi manage to subdue him again. Sam, Laila, and I picks up where we left off. The Demon knocks Dean, Razi, and Harry off again and pulls the tape off his mouth. He grabs Sam by the collar.

"I know what happened to your girlfriend! She must have died screaming! Even now, she's burning!" It says.

Dean, Harry, and Razi recovers and hits the Demon as Sam sits there, stunned.

"Sam! Lore! Lei!" Dean tells us.

Sam recovers and we begin reading again. Sam puts the book down and helps Dean pin down the Demon, who kicks the book up the aisle.

"I got him." Sam says.

The Demon exits the Copilot's body and disappears into a vent.

"Where'd it go?" Sam asks.

"It's in the plane. Hurry up. We got to finish it." Dean tells us.

Plane

The plane suddenly dips and heaves violently. Sam struggles to retrieve the book as Dean splays himself against the exit door, screaming.

Sam manages to grab the book and we begin to read the rest of the exorcism. A bright electrical charge runs through the entire plane, which then levels out.

Various people ask if everyone's okay. Amanda sighs in relief. Dean, Harry, and Razi come out from behind the curtain. Sam, Laila and I stand up.

Airport

The passengers from the flight are disembarking to an area milling with uniformed agents (PARAMEDIC, FBI, FAA, etc). The Copilot is seated in a wheelchair with a blanket wrapped around him, being questioned by an FAA Agent.

"Sir, can you tell me what happened?" the FAA Agent asks the Copilot

"I don't know. I was walking through the airport, then it all goes blank. I don't even remember getting on the plane." the Copilot says.

Amanda is being questioned by another agent.

"Anything else?" the FBI Agent asks Amanda.

"No, that's all." Amanda says. She sees Sam, Dean, Laila, Harry, Razi and I standing across the way and mouths "Thank you". We nod.

"Let's get out of here." Dean tells us. Dean, Sam, Harry, Razi, Laila, and I head for the exit. "You okay?" Dean asks Sam.

Sam stops and turns. "Dean, it knew about Jessica." Sam tells Dean.

"Sam, these things, they, they read minds. They lie. All right? That's all it was." Dean says.

"Yeah." Sam says.

"Come on." Dean tells us.

December 7, 2005

Airport – Day

"Nobody knows what you guys did, but I do. A lot of people could have been killed." Jarry tells us. Jerry shakes our hands. "Your dad's gonna be really proud." Jerry tells us.

"We'll see you around, Jerry." Sam says.

Dean begins to head off. "You know, Jerry." Dean says.

"Yeah." Jerry says.

"I meant to ask you, how did you get my cellphone number, anyway? I've only had it for like six months." Dean tells Jerry.

"Your dad gave it to me." Jerry says.

"What?" Sam asks Jerry.

"When did you talk to him?" Dean asks Jerry.

"I mean, I didn't exactly talk to him, but I called his number. His voice message said to give you a call. Thanks again, guys." Jerry says. Jerry leaves.

Airport Access

A plane with a red maple leaf on the tail flies overhead.

"This doesn't make any sense, man. I've called Dad's number like fifty times. It's been out of service." Sam says.

Dean dials a number. As the voice message begins, he turns it so Sam, Laila, and I can hear too.

"This is John Winchester. I can't be reached. If this is an emergency, call my son, Dean. 785-555-0179. He can help." Dad says.

Sam fumes and gets in the car. Dean, Laila, and I follow, and they drive off. Music plays.
