WHAT HAPPENED THAT NIGHT

Mary runs up the stairs and into Sam's nursery.

John gives baby Sam to Dean.

"Take your brother outside as fast as you can! Now, Dean, go!" John tells Dean.

Dean runs downstairs with Sam. John looks back.

WHAT THEY WITNESSED

Mary burns on the ceiling.

"Mary! No!" John screams.

John watches the nursery burn, Mary with it.

SENT TWO BROTHERS AND LATER, THEIR YOUNGER TWIN SISTERS

December 24th, 1989

Maternal Unit, Hospital

Two couples this day were giving birth two sets of twins. John had remarried to a woman, Angel Gianna Winchester nee Williams (Mary look alike) for a short time and then Bobby Singer and his wife, Karen were there, John was expecting girls, Bobby and Karen, sons.

John's wife of two years delivered the twins but she was a tiny thing and didn't survive the birth. John named his daughters Laila Melek Winchester (Willow Shields FC) and Lorelai Freyja Winchester (Sierra McCormick FC). Bobby's wife, Karen Singer had sons they named Hadraniel Seraphiel Singer (Timothee Chalamet FC) and Raziel Harahel Singer (Nick Jonas FC). They would grow and learn to hunt with their brothers for the Winchester sisters and with Ellen and Jo for the Singer boys' years after their mom die.

On Sylvania Bridge, Dean, Sam, Lore and I turn to face the onlookers.

In Sam's apartment, Dean speaks to Sam, Lore, Jess and I.

"Dad's on a hunting trip." Deano says.

Outside Contance's house, Dean and Lore fire through the Impala's window at Constance.

In Sam's bedroom, Sam pulls out his curved knife.

In Sam's apartment, Dean speaks to Sam, Jess, Lore and I.

"And he hasn't been home in a few days." Dean tells us Winchesters.

ON A QUEST FOR ANSWERS 22 YEARS LATER FOR THE BROTHERS, 16 FOR THE SISTERS

In the stairwell from Sam's apartment, Sam speaks to Dean.

"I swore I was done hunting." Sam told Dean.

In the Impala, Constance tries to rip Sam's heart out.

"I can't do this without you." Dean says.

Blood drips on his forehead and he flinches, opens his eyes, and gasps in horror. Jess is pinned to the ceiling, bleeding.

"No!" Sam cries out.

Sam finishes loading a shotgun and tosses it in the trunk.

"We've got work to do." Sam tells us.

In the Jericho County sheriff's office, the Sheriff throws down John's journal.

"This is Dad's single—" Dean starts to say. Dean holds Dad's journal out to Sam. "—most valuable possession—everything he knows about every evil thing is in here. And he's passed it on to us. I think he wants us to—" Dean continues on. "—pick up where he left off." Dean says.

Sam pulls Dean inside the motel room.

"You know, saving people." Dean says.

Sam, Dean, Lei and I guard Haley and Ben.

"Hunting things." Dean says.

Dean talks to Sam. "The family business." Dean says.

"No. I gotta find Jessica's killer." Sam tells Dean.

Sam approaches Jess's grave.

"It's the only thing I can think about." Sam tells Dean

Dean talks to Sam, both leaning on the Impala.

"Sam, Lore, Lei, you know we're gonna find Dad, right?" Dean asks us

Sam nods. "Yeah. I know." Sam says.

Third Person POV

Toledo, Ohio

Shoemaker Living Room – Night

Three girls are laughing, gathered around a table with candles. The candlelight is the only light.

"Okay, your turn, truth or dare?" the first girl asks.

"Truth." Lily says.

"Do you want to make out with Benji Swartz?" the first girl asks.

Girl 2 laughs.

"Dare." Lily changes it.

"Okay, lame. You have to...say "Bloody Mary" in the bathroom." the first girl says.

"Is that the best you can come up with?" Lily asks the first girl.

"Who's Bloody Mary?" the second girl asks.

"She's this witch." the first girl says.

"I heard she was a lady killed in a car crash." Lily says.

"It doesn't matter who she is. Point is, if you say her name three times in the bathroom mirror, she appears...and scratches your eyes out!" the first girl says.

Lily and the second girl jump.

"So why would anyone say it?" the second girl asks.

"Because it isn't real." Lily says. Lily gets up, and the first girl hands her a candle.

"No turning on the lights and remember...three times." the first girl says

Bathroom

Lily opens the bathroom door. She looks at the shadows on the wall, then closes the door and puts the candle down in front of the mirror.

"Bloody Mary. This is so stupid. Bloody Mary." Lily says.

The candle flickers. Lily looks at it. A long pause. "Bloody Mary." Lily says.

A pause. A loud noise. Lily shrieks. Pounding on the door.

Hallway

Lily opens the door to find Girls 1 and 2, laughing.

"Scared ya." the first girl says.

"You guys are jerks." Lily says.

"Lily." Steven says.

Lily looks up to the top of the stairs, where she sees her father, Steven Shoemaker.

"Do you mind keeping it down?" Steven asks Lily.

"Sorry, Daddy." Lily tells her dad.

"Sorry, Mr. Shoemaker." the other girls say.

Steven heads upstairs. He passes several mirrors; each has Bloody Mary.

Upstairs Bathroom

Steven takes some pills out of the bathroom medicine cabinet and closes the cabinet, revealing another mirror. He pops the pills in his mouth, then looks closer at the mirror, noticing some scratches under his eye.

December 20, 2005

Living Room – Day

Lily and both girls are giggling together.

"You so like him!" the second girl says.

Donna, Lily's older sister, comes in the front door.

"Hey, geek. You guys having fun?" Donna asks Lily

"You're out past curfew." Lily says.

"Thanks, Dad." Donna says. Donna goes upstairs.

Upstairs Hallway – Night

A pool of blood coming out from under the bathroom door. Donna rounds the corner and sees it, stops, then starts forward more slowly. She hesitantly pushes open the bathroom door, revealing a great deal more blood. Donna screams.

Sam POV

December 31, 2005

Dream Sequence

Stanford Apartment – Night

The entire scene is tinted blue.

I lie on the bed, eyes closed. Jess is on the ceiling. Blood drips on my forehead. I open my eyes and sees her.

"Why, Sam? Why, Sam?" Jess asks me.

"No!" I shout.

Jess bursts into flame. "Why, Sam? Why, Sam?" Jess asks.

Lore POV

Impala – Day

"Sam, wake up." Dean tells Sam.

Sam wakes, confused. He sits up and looks around. He's sitting shotgun in the Impala, which is parked in front of a large building. "I take it I was having a nightmare." Sam says.

"Yeah, another one." Dean tells Sam.

"Hey, at least I got some sleep." Sam tells Dean.

"You know, sooner or later we're gonna have to talk about this." Dean says.

"Are we here?" Sam asks Dean.

"Yup. Welcome to Toledo, Ohio." Dean says.

Sam picks up a newspaper with Steven Shoemaker's obituary circled.

SHOEMAKER, Steven
The Shoemaker family is sad to announce the sudden death of their beloved husband and father Steven Shoemaker. Steven was 46. A short service will be held on Wednesday, December 31 at 2:00 p.m. at the Toledo [...] and cherish you [...] Your [...]

"So, what do you think really happened to this guy?" Sam asks Dean.

"That's what we're gonna find out." Dean tells us. "Let's go." Dean says, and I am ready to follow.

Dean, Sam, Laila, and I get out of the car and head up to the building.

Morgue

Hospital – Day

Sam, Dean, Laila and I head into room 144, marked Morgue.

There are two desks. The empty one has a nameplate that says Dr. D. Feiklowicz. The other one has the Morgue Technician.

"Hey." the Morgue tech says.

"Hey." Dean says

"Yo." I say.

"Hey" Laila says.

"Can I help you?" the morgue tech asks us.

"Yeah. We're the, uh...med students." Dean tells the Morgue tech.

"Sorry?" the Morgue tech asks.

"Oh, Doctor—" Dean starts to say. Dean stumbles over the name. "—Figlavitch didn't tell you?" Dean finishes the sentence as he asks the Morgue tech all innocently. "We talked to him on the phone. He, uh, we're from Ohio State." Dean tells the MT (morgue tech). "He's supposed to show us the Shoemaker corpse. It's for our paper." Dean says.

"Well, I'm sorry, he's at lunch." the MT says.

"Oh well he said, uh—"Dean says. "—oh, well, you know, it doesn't matter. You don't mind just showing us the body, do you?" Dean asks.

"Sorry, I can't." the MT says. "Doc will be back in an hour. You can wait for him if you want." the MT says.

"An hour? Ooh. We gotta be heading back to Columbus by then." Dean tells the MT. Dean looks at Sam, Laila, and I.

"Yeah." Sam says.

"Yep." Laila says.

"Ditto." I say.

"Uh, look, man, this paper's like half our grade, so if you don't mind helping us out—" Dean tells the MT

"Uh, look, man...no." the MT says.

Dean laughs a little. Dean turns around and mumbles. "I'm gonna hit him in his face I swear." Dean tells us.

Sam hits Dean on the arm, I elbow him in the stomach, and Laila smacks him upside the head. He steps in front of Dean and opens his wallet and pulls out some twenties. He lays a few of them, at least five, down on the Morgue Tech's desk. The Morgue Tech picks up the money.

"Follow me." the MT says. The Morgue Tech gets up and leaves. Dean grabs Sam when Sam tries to follow.

"Dude, I earned that money." Dean complains.

"You won it in a poker game." Sam says.

"How is that earning it?" Laila asks Dean.

"Cuz, me and Lei earn money without gambling." I say.

"Yeah. And shut up you two." Dean says.

Sam, Laila, and I follow the Morgue Tech.

Morgue

"Now the newspaper said his daughter found him. She said his eyes were bleeding." Sam says.

The Morgue Tech pulls back the sheet over Steven's face.

"More than that. They practically liquefied." the MT says.

"Any sign of a struggle? Maybe somebody did it to him?" Dean asks the MT.

"Nope. Besides the daughter, he was all alone." the MT says.

"What's the official cause of death?" Sam asks the MT

"Ah, Doc's not sure. He's thinking massive stroke, maybe an aneurysm? Something burst up in there, that's for sure." the MT says.

"What do you mean?" Sam asks the MT.

"Intense cerebral bleeding. This guy had more blood in his skull than anyone I've ever seen." the MT says.

"The eyes, what would cause something like that?" Sam asks.

"Capillaries can burst. See a lot of bloodshot eyes with stroke victims." the MT says.

"Yeah? You ever see exploding eyeballs?" Dean asks the MT and I wack him over the head.

"That's a first for me, but hey, I'm not the doctor." the MT says.

"Hey, think we could take a look at that police report? You know for, uh...our paper." Dean says.

"I'm not really supposed to show you that." the MT says.

Sam, annoyed, pulls out his wallet.

Hospital

Sam, Dean, Laila, and I are walking down stairs.

"Might not be one of ours. Might just be some freak medical thing." Sam says.

"Riiight you tell yourself that Sammy." Laila says.

"Stubborn mule." I say.

"How many times in Dad's long and varied career has it actually been a freak medical thing and not some sign of an awful supernatural death?" Dean asks Sammy.

"Uh, almost never." Sam says, while glaring at me and Laila.

"Exactly." Dean tells Sammy.

"All right let's go talk to the daughter." Sam says.

Shoemaker House

Dean, Sam, Laila, and I walk into the funeral. There is a picture of Steven Shoemaker on the desk. The attendees are all men in black suits and women in black dresses, except Dean and Sam, as Laila and I came prepared.

"Feel like we're underdressed." Dean tells Sam.

"You think? We told you to wear a monkey suit!" I tell Dean.

We keep walking through the house towards the back.

Laila POV

Shoemaker Backyard

A man points Dean, Sam, Lore and I towards Donna and Lily Shoemaker, who are with their friends Jill and Charlie.

"You must be Donna, right?" Dean asks Donna.

"Yeah." Donna says.

"Hi, uh—we're really sorry." Sam tells Donna.

"Thank you." Donna says.

"I'm Sam, this is Dean, this is Lorelai, and Laila. We worked with your dad." Sam tells Donna

Donna looks at Charlie, then back at Sam, Dean, Laila, and I.

"You did?" Donna asks us.

"Yeah. This whole thing. I mean, a stroke." Dean tells Donna.

"I don't think she really wants to talk about this right now." Charlie tells Dean.

"It's okay. I'm okay." Donna tells Charlie.

"Were there any symptoms? Dizziness? Migraines?" Dean asks Donna.

"No." Donna says.

Lily turns around. "That's because it wasn't a stroke." Lily tells us.

"Lily, don't say that." Donna tells Lily.

"What?" Sam asks them.

"I'm sorry, she's just upset." Donna tells us.

"No, it happened because of me." Lily says.

"Sweetie, it didn't." Donna tells Lily.

"Lily." Sam says. Sam gets down on eye level with Lily. "Why would you say something like that?" Sam asks Lils.

"Right before he died, I said it." Lily says.

"You said what?" Sam asks Lily as I hold her hand.

"Bloody Mary, three times in the bathroom mirror." Lily tells us.

A pause.

"She took his eyes, that's what she does." Lily says

"That's not why Dad died. This isn't your fault." Donna tells Lily.

"I think your sister's right, Lily. There's no way it could have been Bloody Mary. Your dad didn't say it, did he?" Dean asks Lily.

"No, I don't think so." Lily says.

Upstairs Hallway

Sam, Dean, Lore, and I are seen in a mirror approaching it, then rounding the corner, I love our reflections.

Upstairs Bathroom

Sam pushes the door open. There is still some dried blood on the floor. "The Bloody Mary legend...Dad ever find any evidence that it was a real thing?" Sam asks Dean.

"Not that I know of." Dean tells Sam. Dean walks into the bathroom and Sam stoops to the floor and touches the dried blood.

"I mean, everywhere else all over the country, kids will play Bloody Mary, and as far as we know, nobody dies from it." Sam says.

"Yeah, well, maybe everywhere it's just a story, but here it's actually happening." Dean tells Sam.

"The place where the legend began?" Sam asks Dean.

Dean shrugs and opens the medicine cabinet.

"But according to the legend, the person who says B—" Sam almost says and I whack him for it. Sam looks at the medicine cabinet mirror, which now faces him, and closes it. "The person who says you know what gets it. But here—" Sam says.

"Shoemaker gets it instead, yeah." Dean says.

"Right." Sam says.

"Never heard anything like that before. Still, the guy did die right in front of the mirror, and the daughter's right. The way the legend goes, you know who scratches your eyes out." Dean tells us.

"It's worth checking in to." Sam tells Dean.

Upstairs Hallway

A woman visible from knees down approaches.

Bathroom

Sam, Dean, Lorelai, and I leave the bathroom.

Upstairs Hallway

"What are you doing up here?" Charlie asks us.

"We—we, had to go to the bathroom." Dean fibs.

"Come up with a better lie De." I tell Dean.

"Who are you?" Charlie asks us.

"Like we said downstairs, we worked with Donna's dad." Dean tells Charlie.

"He was a day trader or something. He worked by himself." Charlie says.

"Well, he asked me to paint a portrait of his daughters. So I took up the job. He paid me a week before he died." I tell Charlie.

"No, I know, I meant—" Dean starts to say.

"And all those weird questions downstairs, what was that? So, you tell me what's going on, or I start screaming. And Laila, they'll love it." Charlie says.

"All right, all right. We think something happened to Donna's dad." Sam tells Charlie.

"Yeah, a stroke." Charlie tells Sam.

"That's not a sign of a typical stroke. We think it might be something else." Sam tells Charlie.

"Like what?" Charlie asks Sam.

"Honestly? We don't know yet. But we don't want it to happen to anyone else. That's the truth." Sam tells Charlie

"So, if you're gonna scream, go right ahead." Dean tells her.

"Who are you, cops?" Charlie asks us, well more like Dean and Sam.

Sam looks over his shoulder at Dean.

"Something like that." Dean tells Charlie.

"I'll tell you what. Here." Sam says. Sam reaches into his pocket, pulls out a paper and pen, and starts writing down his cell number. "If you think of anything, you or your friends notice anything strange, out of the ordinary...just give us a call." Sam tells Charlie. Sam hands her the paper as Sam, Dean, Lore, and I walk down the hallway.

Sam POV

Library

Laila, Lore, Dean and I walk into a library, rather dark for the time of day.

"All right, say Bloody Mary really is haunting this town. There's gonna be some sort of proof—Like a local woman who died nasty." Dean tells us.

"Yeah, but a legend this widespread it's hard. I mean, there's like 50 versions of who she actually is. One story says she's a witch, another says she's a mutilated bride, there's a lot more." I say as we walk into the actual library.

"All right so what are we supposed to be looking for?" Dean asks me.

"Every version's got a few things in common. It's always a woman named Mary, and she always dies right in front of a mirror. So, we've gotta search local newspapers—public records as far back as they go. See if we can find a Mary who fits the bill." I tell Dean.

"Well that sounds annoying." Dean says.

"No, it won't be so bad, as long as we..." I start to say. I look at the computers which all say "Out of Order" on them. "*chuckles* I take it back. This will be very annoying." I speak.

Third Person POV

Car

Donna's friend driving in a car talking on her cell phone.

"I'm not sure. They were cops or detectives or something." Charlie tells Jill.

The phone conversation is between DONNA's friend and another girl who was at the funeral named Jill. Jill is in her room taking off her sweater.

Jill's Room

Jill is in her room taking off her sweater.

"Whoever they were, they were cute." Jill says.

Car

"Jill." Charlie says.

Jill's Room

"You didn't think so?" Jill asks.

Car

"Yeah, okay they were cute. Still, do you think something happened to Donna's dad?" Charlie asks Jill.

Jill's Room

"Maybe Lily was right. Maybe Bloody Mary got him." Jill says.

Car

"Ha ha, very funny." Charlie says.

Jill's Room

"Wait, I'm sorry. Was that fear I hear in your voice?" Jill asks Charlie.

Car

"No." Charlie says.

Jill's Room

"Charlie, I'm walking to the bathroom mirror right now." Jill tells Charlie.

Car

"Jill, quit it." Charlie tells Jill

Jill's Room

Jill goes to her bathroom mirror. "Oh no, I can't help myself. I'm gonna say it. Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary." Jill says.

Car

There is a silence on the phone. "Jill?" Charlie says then hears Jill scream. "Jill!?" Charlie says.

Jill's Room

Jill starts laughing. "You're such a freak, I'll call you tomorrow." Jill tells Charlie. They hang up the phone and Jill goes to her closet to finish getting changed. She opens the door, and on the inside, there is a mirror, it's seen Bloody Mary is in there. She closes the closet door and goes to sit down at her vanity, where of course there is another mirror. It's seen Bloody Mary as she takes her earrings out, and then her reflection again when Jill walks in front of her TV screen. Jill goes back in the bathroom to wash her face, but as she bends down to wash, her reflection in the mirror stays standing. She looks up and sees her reflection looking at her as if it were another person. Jill starts panicking as the reflection in the mirror starts oozing blood out of its eyes. She reaches up and feels blood on her own face.

"You did it. You killed that boy." the reflection says.

Jill falls down after seemingly being strangled to death as her reflection in the mirror watches her.

January 1, 2006

Sam POV

I have the dream again. The flames sucked up into Jessica's body, I hear "Why Sam?" and I wake up.

"Why'd you let me fall asleep?" I ask Dean.

"Cause I'm an awesome brother. So, what did you dream about?" Dean asks me.

"Lollipops and candy canes." I tell him.

"Yeah, sure." Dean says.

"Did you find anything?" I ask my siblings.

"Oh, besides a whole new level of frustration?" Dean asks me. I sit up. "No. I've looked at everything. A few local women, a Laura and a Catherine committed suicide in front of a mirror, and a giant mirror fell on a guy named Dave, but uh, no Mary." Dean says.

I fall back on the bed. "Maybe we just haven't found it yet." I speak.

"I've also been searching for strange deaths in the area, you know...eyeball bleeding, that sort of thing. There's nothing. Whatever's happening here, maybe it just ain't Mary." Dean tells me.

My cell phone rings. I answer it.

"Hello?" I ask. A look of concern comes across my face.

Park Bench

Charlie is sitting on the park bench, and Dean is sitting on the back of it, Lore and Lei and Lei at the arms of it, and I am standing there. Charlie is crying. "And they found her on the bathroom floor. And her—her eyes. They were gone." Charlie tells us.

"I'm sorry." I tell Charlie.

"And she said it." Charlie tells us. Dean looks up at me. "I heard her say it. But it couldn't be because of that. I'm insane, right?" Charlie asks us.

"No, you're not insane." Dean tells Charlie.

"Oh God, that makes me feel so much worse.' Charlie tells Dean.

"Look. We think something's happening here. Something that can't be explained." I tell Charlie while Lore and Laila comfort Charlie.

"And we're gonna stop it but we could use your help." Dean tells Charlie.

Jill's House

Charlie goes into Jill's room and locks the door. She then goes over to the window and opens it, where Dean, Lorelai, Laila, and I are waiting to enter. I enter first and Dean throws me a duffel bag, followed by Dean Lorelai, and Laila. I set it on the bed and start going through it.

"What did you tell Jill's mom?" I ask Charlie.

"Just that I needed some time alone with Jill's pictures and things." Charlie tells us. I pull something out of the bag and Dean shuts the curtains. "I hate lying to her." Charlie says.

"Trust us, this is for the greater good. Hit the lights." Dean tells Charlie.

Charlie goes over to turn off the lights. "What are you guys looking for?" Charlie asks us.

"We'll let you know as soon as we find it." Dean tells Charlie.

I have a digital camera ready, and hand it to Dean. "Hey, night vision." I speak. Dean turns on the night vision for him. "Perfect." I say.

The digital camera is aimed at Dean.

"Do I look like Paris Hilton?" Dean asks me.

I walk away with the camera. I open Jill's closet door and begins filming around the mirror.

"So, I don't get it. I mean...the first victim didn't summon Mary, and the second victim did. How's she choosing them?" I ask.

"Beats me." Dean says.

I close the closet door.

"I want to know why Jill said it in the first place." Dean says.

"It's just a joke." Charlie says.

"Yeah, well somebody's gonna say it again, it's just a matter of time." Dean says.

I am in the bathroom filming around the mirror when I stop and sees trickles of something running out from behind the mirror.

"Hey." I say. Dean and Charlie turn to look at me. "There's a black light in the trunk, right?" I ask.

I have carried the mirror out to Jill's bed and lay it on the bed upside down. Dean throws me a black light. I peel off the brown paper that is on the back of the mirror. I shine the black light over the back of the mirror and we see a handprint, and the words "Gary Bryman."

"Gary Bryman?" Charlie asks.

"You know who that is?" I ask Charlie.

"No." Charlie tells me.

January 2, 2006

Lorelai POV

Park Bench

We're outside, again on a bench. Dean and Charlie are sitting on it, and Sam comes up behind them. I'm listening to an Ava Max song with one earphone.

Do you ever feel like a misfit?
Everything inside you is dark and twisted
Oh, but it's okay to be different
'Cause baby, so am I (so am I, so am I, so am I-I-I-I)

Can you hear the whispers all across the room?
You feel her eyes all over you like cheap perfume
You're beautiful, but misunderstood
So why you tryna be just like the neighborhood?

I can see ya, I know what you're feelin'
So let me tell you 'bout my little secret
I'm a little crazy underneath this
Underneath this

Do you ever feel like a misfit?
Everything inside you is dark and twisted
Oh, but it's okay to be different
'Cause baby, so am I (so am I, so am I, so am I)
Do you ever feel like an outcast?
You don't have to fit into the format
Oh, but it's okay to be different
'Cause baby, so am I (so am I, so am I, so am I-I-I-I)

Oh, so dress up fancy like Sid and Nancy (yeah)
Walking killer queen, gotta keep 'em guessin'
So, baby, come pass me a lighter
We're gonna leave 'em on fire
We're the sinners and the blessings

I can see ya, I know what you're feelin'
So let me tell you 'bout my little secret
I'm a little crazy underneath this
Underneath this, oh

Do you ever feel like a misfit?
Everything inside you is dark and twisted
Oh, but it's okay to be different
'Cause baby, so am I (so am I, so am I, so am I)
Do you ever feel like an outcast?
You don't have to fit into the format
Oh, but it's okay to be different
'Cause baby, so am I (so am I, so am I, so am I-I-I-I)

You're king and you're queen
You're strong, then you're weak
You're bound but so free
(Ah, ah, ah)
So come and join me
And call me Harley
And we'll make 'em scream

Do you ever feel like a misfit?
Everything inside you is dark and twisted
Oh, but it's okay to be different
'Cause baby, so am I (so am I, so am I, so am I)
Do you ever feel like an outcast?
You don't have to fit into the format
Oh, but it's okay to be different
'Cause baby, so am I (so am I, so am I, so am I-I-I-I)

"So, Gary Bryman was an 8-year-old boy. Two years ago, he was killed in a hit and run. The car was described as a black Toyota Camry. But nobody got the plates or saw the driver." Sam tells us.

"Oh my God." Charlie says.

"What?" Sam asks Charlie

"Jill drove that car." Charlie says.

"We need to get back to your friend Donna's house." Dean tells Charlie.

Donna's House

We're in the bathroom of Donna's house. Sam and Dean are hunched over the back of the mirror with a black light. There is a handprint on it, and the words "Linda Shoemaker".

"Linda Shoemaker." Sam says.

"So either his wife, another daughter, or a sister." I say.

"I'm going with wife." Laila says.

Downstairs

"Why are you asking me this?" Donna asks us.

"Look, we're sorry, but it's important." Sam tells Donna.

"Yeah. Linda's my mom okay? She overdosed on sleeping pills, it was an accident, and that's it. I think you should leave." Donna says.

"Now Donna, just listen." Dean starts to say.

"Get out of my house!" Donna says and she runs upstairs.

"Oh my God. Do you really think her dad could've killed her mom?" Charlie asks us.

"Maybe." Sam tells Charlie.

"I think I should stick around." Charlie says.

"All right. Whatever you do, don't—" Dean starts to tell Charlie

"Believe me, I won't say it." Charlie says.

1/3/06

Library

Dean, Laila, and I are at computers and Sam looking at some things posted on a bulletin board.

"Wait, wait, wait, you're doing a nationwide search?" Sam asks Dean.

"Yep. The NCIC, the FBI database—at this point any Mary who died in front of a mirror is good enough for me." Dean says

"But if she's haunting the town, she should have died in the town." Sam says.

"I'm telling you there's nothing local, I've checked. So, unless you got a better idea—" Dean tells Sam.

"The way Mary's choosing her victims, it seems like there's a pattern." Sam tells Dean.

"I know, I was thinking the same thing." Dean says.

"With mister Shoemaker and Jill's hit and run." Sam tells us.

"Both had secrets where people died." Dean tells Sam.

"Right. I mean there's a lot of folklore about mirrors-that they reveal all your lies, all your secrets, that they're a true reflection of your soul, which is why it's bad luck to break them." Sam tells Dean.

"Right, right. So maybe if you've got a secret, I mean like a really nasty one where someone died, then Mary sees it, and punishes you for it." Dean says.

"Whether you're the one that summoned her or not." Sam says.

"Take a look at this." Dean tells a picture of a woman lying by a mirror in a puddle of blood. Dean prints out another picture and hands it to Sam. The picture is of a handprint and the letters "Tre"

"Looks like the same handprint." Sam says.

"Her name was Mary Worthington—an unsolved murder in Fort Wayne, Indiana." Dean tells us.

Detective Agency

Fort Wayne, Indiana

"I was on the job for 35 years-detective for most of that. Now everybody packs it in with a few loose ends, but the Mary Worthington murder—that one still gets me." a detective says.

"What exactly happened?" Dean asks the Detective

"You boys said you were reporters?" the Detective asks Sam and Dean.

"We know Mary was 19, lived by herself. We know she won a few local beauty contests, dreamt of getting out of Indiana, being an actress. And we know the night of March 29th someone broke into her apartment and murdered her, cut out her eyes with a knife." Sam tells the Detective

"That's right." the Detective says.

"See sir, when we asked you what happened, we wanted to know what you think happened." Sam says.

The detective pulling some files out of a file cabinet

"Technically I'm not supposed to have a copy of this." the detective says. He opens a file to the picture Sam, Dean, Laila, and I found on the computer. "Now see that there? T-R-E?" the detective asks us.

"Yeah." Dean says.

"Yep." Laila says.

"Uh huh." I say.

"I think Mary was trying to spell out the name of her killer." the Detective says.

"You know who it was?" Sam asks.

"Not for sure. But there was a local man, a surgeon-Trevor Sampson." the detective says. He pulls out a picture of a man. "And I think he cut her up good." the detective tells us.

"Now why would he do something like that?" Sam asks.

"Her diary mentioned a man that she was seeing. She called him by his initial, "T". Well, her last entry, she was gonna tell "T"'s wife about their affair." the detective says.

"Yeah, but how do you know it was Sampson who killed her?" Dean asks the Detective

"It's hard to say, but the way her eyes were cut out...it was almost professional." the Detective says.

"But you could never prove it?" Dean asks.

"No. No prints, no witnesses. He was meticulous." the Detective tells us.

"Is he still alive?" Dean asks the Detective.

"Nope." the Detective says as he sits down and sighs "If you ask me, Mary spent her last living moments trying to expose this guy's secret. But she never could." the Detective says.

"Where's she buried?" Sam asks the Detective.

"She wasn't. She was cremated." the detective says.

"What about that mirror?" Dean asks, nodding at the one in the picture. "It's not in some evidence lockup somewhere, is it?" Dean asks the Detective

"Ah, no. It was returned to Mary's family a long time ago." the detective says.

"You have the names of her family by any chance?" Sam asks.

Third Person POV

School

You see the inside of a girl's bathroom at a school where Donna and Charlie are walking in.

"I mean, you bring these strangers into my house and they ask me things like that?" Donna asks Charlie.

"They were only trying to help. Please, Donna, you have to believe me." Charlie tells Donna.

"What? About Bloody Mary?" Donna asks Charlie. Of course, they have now stopped in front of the mirror.

"Please, I know it sounds crazy—" Charlie says.

"Crazy doesn't even begin to cover it. I mean it's one thing for my sister to believe this crap, she's 12. But you?" Donna asks Charlie.

"Think about the way your dad died, okay? And the way Jill died." Charlie tells Donna.

"Okay so" she turns to face the mirror "Bloody Mary." Donna says.

"No!" Charlie says.

"Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary." Donna says. She turns back to face Charlie "See? Nothing happened." Donna tells Charlie.

"Why would you do that?" Charlie asks Donna.

"Oh my God. There really is something wrong with you." Donna tells Charlie.

School Hallway

Charlie is walking down past some windows into the classroom, and we see Bloody Mary in one of them.

Physics/Science class

"Elements that lose electrons become positive ions, which are smaller than other atoms of the same element." the teacher says. Charlie opens up her compact. "Therefore, the ionic radius is smaller than the atomic radius." the teacher says. Charlie sees Bloody Mary in the corner and screams. The class freaks out as she starts running around the room. "Charlie!" the Teacher calls Charlie. She sees the reflection of Mary in the window of the door, picks up a stool, and throws it through the window. "Charlie!" the teacher says. The teacher catches Charlie. "Charlie stop it! What's wrong!? Just calm down." the teacher tells Charlie. Charlie sees Mary in the reflection of the teacher's glasses.

"Aah! Let me go!" Charlie tells the teacher.

"Charlie!" the teacher calls after Charlie as she runs out of the room.

Lore POV

Impala

Dean is driving down the road. Sam is on his cell phone. Laila's drawing, and I am reading. Yeah, I read too.

"Oh really? Ah that's too bad Mr. Worthington. I would have paid a lot for that mirror. Okay, well maybe next time. All right, thanks." Sam tells Mr. Worthington and then hangs up.

"So?" Dean asks Sam.

"So that was Mary's brother. The mirror was in the family for years, until he sold it one week ago to a store called Estate Antiques. A store in Toledo." Sam tells Dean.

"So, wherever the mirror goes, that's where Mary goes?" Dean asks Sam.

"Her spirit's definitely tied up with it somehow." Sam says.

"Isn't there an old superstition that says mirrors can capture spirits?" Dean asks Sam.

"Yeah, there is. Yeah, when someone would die in a house people would cover up the mirrors so the ghost wouldn't get trapped." Sam tells us.

"So, Mary dies in front of a mirror, and it draws in her spirit." Dean says.

"Yeah, but how could she move through like a hundred different mirrors?" Sam asks Dean.

"I don't know, but if the mirror is the source, I say we find it and smash it." Dean tells Sam.

"Yeah, I don't know, maybe." Sam says. Sam's cell phone rings then. "Hello." Sam says. The look of concern comes across his face again "Charlie?" Sam asks.

Motel

Charlie is sitting on the bed with her head on her knees and Sam, Dean, Laila, and I have all of the curtains drawn shut, and are throwing sheets over the mirrors, or facing them to the wall or floor.

Sam sits next to Charlie "Hey, hey it's ok. Hey, you can open up your eyes Charlie. It's okay, all right?" Sam tells Charlie.

Charlie looks up slowly.

"Now listen. You're gonna stay right here on this bed, and you're not gonna look at glass, or anything else that has a reflection, okay? And as long as you do that, she cannot get you." Sam tells Charlie.

"But I can't keep that up forever. I'm gonna die, aren't I?" Charlie asks Sam.

"No. No. Not anytime soon." Sam says.

Dean sits on the bed too "All right Charlie. We need to know what happened." Dean tells Charlie.

"We were in the bathroom. Donna said it." Charlie says.

"That's not what we're talking about. Something happened, didn't it? In your life...a secret...where someone got hurt. Can you tell us about it?" Dean asks Charlie

"I had this boyfriend. I loved him. But he kind of scared me too, you know? And one night, at his house, we got in this fight. Then I broke up with him, and he got upset, and he said he needed me, and he loved me, and he said "Charlie, if you walk out that door right now, I'm gonna kill myself." And you know what I said? I said "Go ahead." And I left. How could I say that? How could I leave him like that? I just...I didn't believe him, you know? I should have." Charlie says and she puts her face back on her knees and starts crying again.

Impala

Dean is driving in the rain. "You know her boyfriend killing himself, that's not really Charlie's fault." Dean tells Sam.

"You know as well as I do spirits don't exactly see shades of gray, Dean. Charlie had a secret, someone died, that's good enough for Mary." Sam tells Dean.

"I guess." Dean says.

"You know, I've been thinking. It might not be enough to just smash that mirror." Sam tells Dean.

"Why, what do you mean?" Dean asks Sam.

"Well Mary's hard to pin down, right? I mean she moves around from mirror to mirror so who's to say that she's not just gonna keep hiding in them forever? So maybe we should try to pin her down, you know, summon her to her mirror and then smash it." Sam tells Dean.

"Well, how do you know that's going to work?" Dean asks Sam.

"I don't, not for sure." Sam tells Dean.

"Well, who's gonna summon her?" Dean asks Sammy.

"I will. She'll come after me." Sam tells us.

'No. we will." Laila and I say.

"You know what, that's it. And no you won't Laila, nor will you Lorelai." Dean says as he pulls the car over. "This is about Jessica, isn't it? You think that's your dirty little secret that you killed her somehow? Sam, this has got to stop, man. I mean, the nightmares and calling her name out in the middle of the night—it's gonna kill you. Now listen to me—It wasn't your fault. If you wanna blame something, then blame the thing that killed her. Or hell, why don't you take a swing at me? I mean I'm the one that dragged you away from her in the first place." Dean tells Sam.

"I don't blame you." Sam tells Dean.

"Well, you shouldn't blame yourself, because there's nothing you could've done." Dean tells Sam.

"I could've warned her." Sam tells Dean.

"About what? You didn't know what was gonna happen! And besides, all of this isn't a secret, I mean I know all about it. It's not gonna work with Mary anyway." Dean tells Sam.

"No, you don't." Sam says.

"I don't what?" Dean asks Sam.

"You don't know all about it. I haven't told you everything." Sam tells Dean.

"What are you talking about?" Dean asks Sam.

"Well it wouldn't really be a secret if I told you, would it?" Sam asks Dean.

Dean looks surprised "No. I don't like it. It's not gonna happen, forget it." Dean says

"Dean that girl back there is going to die unless we do something about it. And you know what? Who knows how many more people are gonna die after that? Now we're doing this. You've got to let me do this." Sam tells Dean.

I listen to another Ava Max song on my iPod.

Never knew the sting of a stranger
Never felt the words like a razor
But I won't give a damn 'bout it later

All the little digs doesn't matter
Writin' down a brand-new chapter
Where there's only love, never anger

So lonely in your bed
Does breakin' me make you feel good?
Guess you don't understand
What goes around, comes around

Don't ya know that I'm stronger?
Don't ya see me in all black?
Don't ya cry like a baby?
Ha-ha-ha, ha, ha-ha-ha
Who's laughing now?

Know that it's over
Don't ya know I won't call back?
Don't ya cry like a baby?
Ha-ha-ha, ha, ha-ha-ha
Who's laughing now?

You'll never see me blue, never bleedin'
Hope you understand how I'm feelin'
I'm turnin' off my phone like I'm leaving (bye)

Pushed me to the edge, now it's over
Shuttin' off the hate, gettin' closure
This will be the dust when I'm older

So lonely in your bed
Does breakin' me make you feel good?
Guess you don't understand
What goes around, comes around

Don't ya know that I'm stronger?
Don't ya see me in all black?
Don't ya cry like a baby?
Ha-ha-ha, ha, ha-ha-ha
Who's laughing now?

Know that it's over
Don't ya know I won't call back?
Don't ya cry like a baby?
Ha-ha-ha, ha, ha-ha-ha
Who's laughing now?

Ha-ha-ha, ha, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha

Ha-ha-ha, ha, ha-ha-ha
Who's laughing now?

It's comical, hysterical
So ridiculous, think you messed me up

Don't ya know that I'm stronger?
Don't ya see me in all black?
Don't ya cry like a baby? (Oh)
Ha-ha-ha, ha, ha-ha-ha
Who's laughing now?

Know that it's over
Don't ya know I won't call back? (Call back)
Don't ya cry like a baby?
Ha-ha-ha, ha, ha-ha-ha
Who's laughing now?

Dean POV

Shop

Sam is trying to pick the lock on the door. It opens and we see many mirrors are in this shop.

"Well...that's just great." I speak. I pull out the picture of Mary's dead body to look at the mirror. "All right let's start looking." I tell the others.

We all split up and walk around the store and we see a flashing light that seems to be part of an alarm.

"Maybe they've already sold it." I speak.

Sam's flashlight stops on the mirror as does Laila's and Lore's.

"I don't think so." Sam tells me.

I walk over to him and pulls out the picture again to compare. It is the mirror.

"That's it." I say and sigh. "You sure about this?" I ask Sam. Sam hands me the flashlight.

Sam sighs. "Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary." Sam says as he looks at me who gives him an unsure look back. Sam picks up the crowbar "Bloody Mary." Sam says.

I turn to see a light coming through the store.

"I'll go check that out. Stay here, be careful." I speak. Sam readies the crowbar again. "Smash anything that moves." I tell Lore, Laila, and Sam. I crawl away towards the front door. I see a headlight. "Crap." I say. I put the crowbar down and begins to walk to the door.

Inside the Shop

Laila POV

Meanwhile, Sam, Lore and I hear a breath, so we turns to look at a different mirror, when the camera turns back to Mary's we see her in it.

Dean POV

I am now outside facing police.

"Hold it." an officer says.

"Whoa guys, false alarm, I tripped the system." I say.

"Who are you?" the officer asks.

"I'm the boss's kid." I say.

"You're Mister Yamashiro's kid?" the other officer asks.

Laila POV

Inside the Shop

Lore and I see Mary in a different mirror now. Sam sees her there out of the corner of his eye and smashes the mirror with the crowbar. She is in a different one now, and he sees her and smashes that mirror too. He is now back facing her mirror.

"Come on. Come into this one." Sam tells Mary.

Sam looks oddly at his reflection, which has now taken a mind of its own like Jill's. Sam starts having trouble breathing and has a trickle of blood coming out of his eye. He drops the crowbar and grabs his heart.

"It's your fault. You killed her. You killed Jessica." the reflection says.

Dean POV

Outside

"Like I said, I was adopted." I speak.

"Yeah." the officer says.

I am being covered back and front by the two cops. "You know, I just—I really don't have time for this right now." I say. I punch one cop, backhands the other, then punches the cop in front of me again. They are now on the ground.

Laila POV

Inside the Shop

"You never told her the truth—who you really were." the reflection screams. Sam is now falling towards the ground. "But it's more than that, isn't it? Those nightmares you've been having of Jessica dying, screaming, burning—You had them for days before she died. Didn't you!? You were so desperate to ignore them, to believe they were just dreams. How could you ignore them like that? How could you leave her alone to die!? You dreamt it would happen!" the reflection screams as Laila and I are trying to find where the crowbar is.

Dean's crowbar goes through the mirror. Dean bends down to the floor to Sam. "Sam, Sammy!

"It's Sam." Sam says.

"God, are you okay?" Dean asks Sam, in reference to the blood.

"Uh, yeah." Sam says.

"Come on, come on." Dean says. He pulls Sam up. He puts Sam's arm over his neck, and they begin to walk out, until Mary (again, much like Samara coming out of the TV in The Ring comes out of the frame of the mirror. They turn around to see her crawling over the broken glass. Mary walks towards them and they both fall to the ground. They both start bleeding from the face, but Dean, the genius he is reaches up and pulls over a mirror so that Mary is forced to see her own reflection.

"You killed them! All those people! You killed them!" Mary's reflection says.

Mary starts choking to death and melts into a pile of blood. Dean throws down the mirror he held and it shatters.

"Hey Sam?" Dean asks Sam.

"Yeah?" Sam asks. Dean

"This has got to be like...what? 600 years of bad luck?" Dean asks us.

Sam, Lorelai, and I chuckle weakly.

Impala

Sam and Dean are driving in the car with Charlie, Lore, and I in the back. We pull up in front of a house.

"So, this is really over?" Charlie asks us.

Dean nods. "Yeah, it's over." Dean tells Charlie.

"Thank you." Charlie tells us. Dean reaches back to shake her hand, and she gets out of the car.

"Charlie?" Sam calls Charlie. Charlie turns around. "Your boyfriend's death...you really should try to forgive yourself. No matter what you did, you probably couldn't have stopped it. Sometimes bad things just happen." Sam tells Charlie.

Charlie smiles faintly, then turns around to go into the house.

Dean gently hits Sam. "That's good advice." Dean says. We drive off. "Hey Sam?" Dean asks Sam.

"Yeah?" Sam asks Dean.

"Now that this is all over, I want you to tell me what that secret is." Dean says.

"Look...you're my brother and I'd die for you, but there are some things I need to keep to myself." Sam says. Sam looks out the window and sees Jessica in a white dress on the street corner standing next to a light pole, as we turn the corner she disappears behind the pole, and we don't see her again.
