Hibbing, Minnesota

Third Person POV

A young boy is watching TV in his bedroom. He hears a noise outside and looks out the window. A man is walking in a parking lot with two bags of garbage in his hands. The man throws the bags into a dumpster and starts walking back to his car. He hears the same screeching noise and stops. He gets down on his knees and looks under the car. He sees something that horrifies him, although the audience does not see it, and stands up quickly. An invisible force pulls him back to the ground, on his stomach. He is dragged under the car, screaming, until he is gone. The boy looks frightened and shuts the curtains.

Living Room, Day

Lorelai POV

Dean, Sam, Lai, and I are dressed as sheriffs. We are talking to the boy and his mother.

"I know you're just doing your job, but the police have been here all week already. I don't see why we have to go through this again. The more he tells the story, the more he believes it's true." Mrs. McKay tells us.

"Mrs. McKay, we know you spoke with the local authorities." Sam tells Mrs. McKay.

"But, uh, this seems like a matter for the state police, so…." Dean says.

"And we might be able to ease his mind." I tell her.

"Don't worry about how crazy it sounds, Evan. You just tell us what you saw." Sam tells Evan.

"I was up late, watching TV. When I heard this weird noise." Evan tells us.

"What did it sound like?" Sam asks Evan.

"It sounded like…. a monster." Evan tells us. Dean and Sam exchange a look and I shush Evan, comforting him.

"Tell the officers what you were watching on TV." Mrs. McKay tells Evan.

"Godzilla Vs. Mothra." Evan says. Dean smiles.

"That's my favorite Godzilla movie. It's so much better than the original, huh?" Dean asks excitedly.

"Totally." Evan tells Dean.

"Yeah." Dean says. Dean nods towards Sam. "He likes the remake." Dean tells Evan.

"Yuck!" Evan says. Sam glares at Dean and clears his throat. Dean stops.

"Evan, did you see what this thing was?" Sam asks Evan

"No. But I saw it grab Mr. Jenkins. It pulled him underneath the car." Evan tells us.

"Then what?" I ask.

"It took him away. I heard the monster leaving. It made this really scary sound." Evan tells me.

"What did it sound like, Evan?" Laila asks Evan.

"Like this…whining growl." Evan tells us. Sam, Dean, Laila, and I exchange another look.

"Thanks for your time." Sam tells Evan.

Inside Kugel's Keg, Night

Dean POV

May 22, 2006

Sam is having a beer at a table, looking at research. I am nearby, throwing darts.

"So, local police have now ruled out foul play. Apparently, there are worse signs of a struggle." Sam tells me.

"Well, they could be right, it could just be a kidnapping. Maybe this isn't our kind of gig." I tell Sam.

"Yeah, maybe not. Except for this—Dad marked the area, Dean." Sam tells me. I go over to the table and looks at our father's journal. "Possible hunting grounds of a phantom attacker." Sam says.

"Why would he even do that?" I ask.

"Well, he found a lot of local folklore about a dark figure that comes out at night. Grabs people, then vanishes. He found this too—this county has more missing persons per capital than anywhere else in the state." Sam tells me.

"That is weird." I tell Sam.

"Yeah." Sam says.

"Don't phantom attackers usually snatch people from their beds? Jenkins was taken from a parking lot." I tell Sam.

"Well, there are all kinds. You know, Spring Heeled Jacks, phantom gassers. They take people anywhere, anytime. Look, Dean, I don't know if this is our kind of gig either." Sam tells me.

"Yeah, you're right, we should ask around more tomorrow." I tell Sam.

"Right." Sam says. He takes out his wallet. "I saw a motel about five miles back, probably where Lai and Lore are with the babies." he tells me.

"Whoa, whoa, easy. Let's have another round." I tell him.

"We should get an early start." Sam tells me

"Yeah, you really know how to have fun, don't you, Grandma?" I ask. Sam smiles. "Alright, I'll meet you outside, I gotta take a leak." I tell Sam. I grab my coat and head to the bathroom. Sam gathers his research and leaves.

Outside Kugel's Keg

Sam POV

I am walking back to the car. I hear a noise and stop. I place the journal on the hood of the car and take out a flashlight from my coat pocket. I turn it on and look around, then bend down to look under the car. I see a cat, which hisses at me then runs away.

"Whoa!" I say. I see the animal and laugh at myself. I get up, shaking my head, then wait by the car. There's a view from under the car and focuses on my feet unknown to me.

Minutes later

Dean POV

I come out of the bar and walk to the car. I see that Sam is missing but notice the journal on the hood. I open the car door and check to see if Sam is inside, but he isn't there. I look around, confused.

Later

A group of people come out of the bar. I walk up to a biker and his girlfriend, who are clearly drunk.

"Hey, you guys been outside, around here in the last hour or so?" I ask them. They shake their heads and walk away. "Sam!" I shout. I look around frantically. "Sammy!" I shout. I turn around and notice a surveillance camera on top of a streetlight. I walk into the middle of the deserted road and looks around. "Sam.' I say.

Sheriff's Department

Laila POV

A deputy, Kathleen, is looking at Dean's fake ID. I wait as I hold Henry and Prim and Lore is holding Cate and Liam. Dean is holding Vicki and Joan, and Harry is holding Evan, while Razi is holding Alex.

"So, what can we do for you, Officer Winchester?" Kathleen asks.

"I'm working a missing persons." Dean tells Kat.

"I didn't know the Jenkins case was being covered by the state police." Kat tells us.

"Oh, no. No, there's someone else. Actually, it's my brother. We were havin' a few last night at this bar down by the highway. And I haven't seen him since." Dean tells Kat.

"Does your brother have a drinking problem?" Kat asks.

"Sam? Two beers and he's doin' karaoke." Dean says. Kathleen smiles. "No, he wasn't drunk. He was taken. And not only from me and our sisters, but his children as well." Dean says Kathleen looks stunned then nods and sits down at her computer. Dean follows her and sits also.

"Alright. What's his name?" Kat asks.

"Winchester. Sam Winchester." Dean tells Kat.

"Like the rifle?" Kathy asks.

"Like the rifle." Deano tells her. Kathleen types Sam's name in the computer and brings up his police record. She observes the page, then clicks on Caleb's link and brings up his record.

"Samuel Winchester. So, you know that his cousin, Caleb Winchester, died in St. Louis. And, uh, was suspected of murder." Kat says. Dean tries to look nonchalant.

"Yeah, Caleb. Kind of the black sheep of the family. But we don't bring him up as he tried to murder Sam and Laila." Dean says.

"Oh, sorry." Kathy says. She types something else and brings up more search results on the computer. "Well, he's not showing up in any current field reports." Kathy says.

"Oh, I already have a lead. I saw a surveillance camera by the highway." Dean tells Kathleen.

"Uh-huh. The county traffic cam?" Kathleen asks.

"Right. Yeah. I'm thinking the camera picked up whatever took him. Or, whoever." Dean asks.

"Please help us?" I ask Kathy, holding Henry and Prim.

"Please? The kids need their father/uncle/brother." Lorelai tells Kathy, holding Cate and Liam.

"Well, I have access to the traffic cam footage down at the county works department, but—well, anyhow, let's do this the right way." Kathleen says, seeing us ready to cry. She stands up and gets some paperwork from a filing cabinet. "Why don't you fill out a missing person's report and sit tight over here?" Kathy asks Dean. She hands him a clipboard.

"Officer, look, uh, he's family. I kind of—I kind of look out for the kid. You gotta let me go with you." Dean tells Kathy.

"I'm sorry, I can't do that." Kathy tells us.

"Well, tell me something. Your county has its fair share of missing persons. Any of 'em come back?" Dean asks Kathy.

Kathleen looks sad.

"Sam's my responsibility. Just like Lorelai and Laila are my responsibilities. And he's comin' back. I'm bringin' him back." Dean tells her. She stares at him.

Unknown location

Sam POV

I am asleep in a cage. I jerk awake and observe my surroundings. I rattle the bars of the cage. I look around and notices Jenkins asleep in a cage next to mine.

Outside County Works Department

Hadraniel Singer POV

Dean is sitting on a bench outside, with Raziel, Lorelai, and Laila and I. Kathleen comes behind us, holding printouts of the camera footage.

"Dean." Kathy calls Dean. He sees her and stands up. And we stand up after him. "I think we've got something." Kathleen tells us. She hands us the printouts and we look through them. "These traffic cams take an image every three seconds, as part of the Amber Alert program. These images were all taken around the time that your cousin, Sam, disappeared." Kathy tells us.

"This really isn't what I'm looking for." Deano tells Kathy.

"Just wait, wait—next one." Kat tells Deano. He turns the page, and we see an image of a rusty truck driving. "This one was taken right after Sam left the bar. Look at the back end of that thing. Now, look at the plates." Kathleen says. Dean turns another page, and we see a close-up image of the truck's license plates.

"Oh, the plates look new. It's probably stolen." Dean says.

"So, whoever's driving that rust bucket must be involved." Kathy says.

A beat-up van drives by. Its engine is whining loudly. "Hear that engine?" Dean asks Kat.

"Yeah." Kathleen tells Dean.

"Kind of a whining growl, isn't it?" Dean asks.

"Sure." Kathy say.

Dean stares at the van as it drives away. "I'll be damned." Dean says.

Unknown location

Sam POV

I am trying to kick down the door of my cage, but I fail. Jenkins groans and wakes up. I rush over to talk to him through the bars of our cages.

"You're alive." I tell Jenkins. Jenkins groans again. "Hey, are you okay?" I ask.

"Does it look like I'm doin' okay?" Jenkins asks

"Where are we?" I ask.

"I don't know. The country, I think. Smells like the country." Jenkins says.

"You're Alvin Jenkins, aren't you?" I ask.

"Yeah." Jenkins says. I sigh.

"I was lookin' for ya." I tell him.

"Oh, yeah?" Jenkins asks.

"Yeah." I tell Jenkins.

"Well, no offense, but this is a piss-poor rescue." Jenkins tells me.

"Well, my brother and sisters are out there right now, too. They're lookin' for us. So—" I start to say.

"So, they're not gonna find us. We're in the middle of nowhere." Jenkins tells me. He nods towards the door leading into the building. "Waiting for them to come back and do God-knows-what to us." Jenkins says.

"What are they? Have you seen them?" I ask.

"What are you talking about?" Jenkins asks.

"Whatever's got us, what'd they look like?" I ask.

"See for yourself." Jenkins tells me. The door to the building opens and two men wearing black coats and hats walk in. One man walks over to Jenkins' cage and kicks the side of it. Jenkins moves back into the corner. The other man goes to a panel of buttons attached to a pole in the middle of the room. He inserts a key into the panel and twists it. Jenkins' cage unlocks. The men enter. "Leave me alone! Don't you take me, leave me alone!" Jenkins tells the men. The men place a plate of food in front of Jenkins. They leave the cage and walk over to the panel. One of the men twists the key again and removes it, which locks the cage. They leave, and Jenkins devours his food.

"I'll be damned. They're just people." I say to myself.

"Yeah. What'd you expect?" Jenkins asks.

"How often do they feed you?" I ask Jenkins.

"Once a day. And they use that thing over there to open the cage." Jenkins tells me and he points to the panel.

"And that's the only time you see 'em?" I ask.

"So far. But I'm waitin'." Jenkins tells me.

"Waitin' for what?" I ask.

"Ned Beatty time, man." he tells me.

"I think that's the least of your worries right now." I tell Jenkins.

"Oh, yeah?" Jenkins asks.

"Yeah." I say.

"What do you think they want, then?" Jenkins asks. I reach through the top of my cage and grab a long metal wire stretching from the top of the pole to the ground. I try to pull it down.

"Depends on who they are." I tell him.

"They're a bunch of psycho hillbilly rednecks, if you ask me. Lookin' for love in all the wrong places." Jenins says. I continue to pull on the wire. It gradually starts to detach from the pole.

Sheriff's car

Dean POV

Kathleen is driving and I am riding shotgun.

"Okay, the next traffic cam is fifty miles from here, and the pickup didn't pass that one, so…." Kathleen tells me, pointing to a passing traffic camera.

"So, it must've pulled off somewhere. I didn't see any other roads here." I tell Kathleen, Harry, Laila, Lore, and Razi following us in their cars.

"Well, a lot of these backwoods' properties have their own private roads." Kathleen tells me.

"Great." I say, annoyed. I stare out the window. New information comes up on Kathleen's computer. She clicks the highlighted item and brings up a page about my fake police ID, cuz I still aint a cop. She reads it and looks concerned.

"So, Dean." Kathleen says. I turn to look at her.

"Yeah?" I ask.

"I ran your badge number. It's routine when we're working a case with state police. For accounting purposes and what have you." Kathleen tells me.

"Mmhmm." I say, kinda worried as yeah, I used my real name but nothing more.

"And, uh, they just got back to me." Kat tells me. She pulls the car over to the side of the road. 'It says here your badge was a retired one and unless you are the great granddad of yourself, you're supposed to be dead." Kat says. I look surprised. "And there's an old picture of you." she tells me. She turns the computer to me. I see a picture of a Winchester man but yeah, not related to us.

"I lost my badge, and my great granddads was there." I say and chuckle. "And I got my looks from him I see." I say. Kathleen takes off her seatbelt. Dang, thought she would fall for it.

"Okay, would you step out of the car, please?" Kathleen asks.

"Look, look, look." I say. She stops. "If you wanna arrest me, that's fine. I'll cooperate, I swear. But, first, please let me find Sam." I tell her.

"I don't even know who you are. Or if this Sam person is missing." Kat tells me.

"Look into my eyes and tell me if I'm lying about this." I tell her.

"Identity theft? You're impersonating an officer." Kat tells me.

"Look, here's the thing. When we were young, I pretty much pulled him from a fire. And ever since then, I've felt responsible for him. Like it's my job to keep him safe. I'm just afraid if we don't find him fast—please." I tell her. My voice breaks. "He's my family." I tell her.

"I'm sorry. You've given me no choice. I have to take you in." Kathleen tells me. She glances at her visor. Her eye catches a photo of her and another man, smiling. She looks sad and sighs. "After we find Sam Winchester." Kathleen tells me. She fastens her seatbelt. I look confused.

Unknown location

Sam POV

I am still trying to pull the metal coil from the beam.

"What's your name, again?" Jenkins asks me.

"It's Sam." I tell him.

"Why don't you give it up, Sammy, there's no way out." Jenkins tells me.

"Don't…. call me…. Sammy!" I tell him. I groan and finally tear the coil down. A small piece of metal falls on the floor also.

"What is it?" Jenkins asks. I pick it up and look at it.

"It's a bracket." I tell him.

"Well, thank God, a bracket. Now we've got 'em, huh?" Jenkins tells me. Suddenly, Jenkins' cage unlocks itself and opens. "Must've been a short." Jenkins tells me. He climbs out of the cage. "Maybe you knocked somethin' loose." Jenkins tells me.

"I think you should get back in there, Jenkins." I say.

"What?" Jenkins asks.

"This isn't right." I tell him.

"Don't you wanna get out of here?" Jenkins asks.

"Yeah. But that was too easy." I tell Jenkins.

"Look, I'm gonna get out of here, and I'm gonna send help, okay, don't worry." Jenkins tells me.

"No, I'm serious. Jenkins—this might be a trap." I tell him.

"Bye, Sammy." Jenkins says. He pushes open the door and leaves.

"Jenkins!" I say. On the other side of the door, Jenkins is in another room similar to the one he just left. He finds an exit and leaves. In the other room, Jenkins' cage slams shut.

Outside

Jenkins POV

I am walking around the outside of a rundown house. I find a knife on the ground and picks it up. I look up to the sky.

"Thank you." I say. I start running into the woods.

Woods

I continue walking. I hear a noise and raise my knife, then start to run in the rain. Before long, a man in camouflage jumps in front of me and knocks me down with a long knife. I fall to the ground but sticks my own knife in the man's leg. The man stumbles, allowing me to get up and run away. I reach a clearing. I look around, lost. Suddenly, another camouflaged man appears and puts his knife through my leg, then removes it. The second camouflaged man appears, and they both point their knives at me, which I am on the ground. I am able to get up and run away. The men watch him and laugh. I keep running, but trip over a thin wire on the ground. The men catch up to me and raise their knives.

Unknown location

Sam POV

I can hear Jenkins screaming.

Street

Laila POV

Dean and Kathleen are walking back to the car, while Harry, Lore, Razi, and I are headed to our cars, holding cups of coffee.

"Hey, Officer? Look, I don't mean to press my luck." Dean says.

"Your luck is so pressed." Kathleen says.

"Right. I was wondering—why are you helping me out, anyway? Why don't you just lock me up?" Dean asks Kat.

"My brother, Riley, disappeared three years ago. A lot like Sam. We searched for him, but—nothing. I know what it's like to feel responsible for someone, and for them—Come on. Let's keep at it." Kat tells Dean. She gets in the cop car.

"At least Bobby is watching the kids." I say.

Edge of the forest

Kathleen, Dean, Harry, Razi, Lore, and I are driving by.

"Wait, wait, wait—pull over here. Pull over." Dean tells Kat. They pull over and get out of the car, then walk towards the forest. "It's the first turn-off I've seen so far." Dean says.

"You stay here, I'll check it out." Kathleen tells Dean.

"No way." Dean tells Kat.

"Hey." Kat says. They stop walking. "You're a civilian. And a felon, I think. I'm not taking you with me." Kathleen tells Dean.

"You're not goin' without me." Dean says. Kathleen sighs.

"Alright. You promise you won't get involved? You'll let me handle it?" Kathleen asks.

"Yeah, I promise." Dean tells her.

"Shake on it." Kat says. She extends her hand. Dean shakes it. While they are shaking hands, Kathleen places a set of handcuffs on Dean's arm.

"Oh, come on." Dean says and Lore and I bust out laughing.

Car

Kat POV

I handcuff Dean to the door handle and starts walking away.

"This is ridiculous. Kathleen, I really think you're gonna need my help." Dean tells me.

"I'll manage. Thank you." I tell Dean. I lock the door and walk away.

"I gotta start carrying paper clips." Dean says, unknown to me.

Road

I am walking. I pass a rundown barn, along with several wagon wheels strewn along the grass. I walk further and sees a dilapidated house. I make my way to the front porch and climb up the stairs.

"Hello? Anybody home?" I ask. I knock on the door. A young girl, Missy, comes outside, covered in dirt and filth. She is unwashed and has long, uncombed hair. "Hi. Who are you?" I ask the girl. The girl comes closer and examines my badge.

"Who are you?" the girl asks.

"I'm, uh, I'm Kathleen. I'm a deputy. What's your name?" I tell the girl.

"Missy." Missy tells me.

"Missy. That's a pretty name. Missy, is your mom home?" I ask her.

"She's dead." Missy tells me.

"I'm sorry. What about your dad?" I ask. Missy shakes her head. "No? Can I come in for a minute?" I ask. Missy shakes her head again and starts moving towards the door. "I just want you to look at a picture." I tell Missy. I take a picture of Sam from my coat pocket and shows it to Missy. "Have you seen that guy? Look at that picture." I tell her. Missy looks up and sees something behind me. She smiles wickedly. "What?" I ask.

"That's gonna hurt." Missy tells me. I turn around and sees a tall, equally unwashed man, Pa Bender, standing beside her. He hits her in the head with a shovel, and she falls to the ground, unconscious.

"Missy, sweetheart, go tell your brothers I wanna see 'em." Pa Bender tells Missy.

"Yes, Daddy." Missy tells Pa. She walks away.

Car

Dean POV

I am looking around for something to unlock the handcuffs. I finally notice the antenna of the car and reach for it, but I am too far away. I hear the screech of the pickup truck.

"Oh, son of a bitch." I curse. I stretch further.

Woods

Third Person POV

The pickup truck is driving.

Car

Dean POV

I am still reaching for the antenna.

Woods

Third Person POV

Jared and Lee Bender unlock a gate and start walking.

Car

Dean POV

I finally grab the antenna and begin to unscrew it.

Woods

Third Person POV

Jared and Lee are still walking.

Car

The antenna comes loose and falls to the ground. Dean picks it up and begins unlocking the handcuffs. Jared and Lee reach a clearing and see the car. They laugh. Dean is gone.

"Well, I've never seen him so angry before." Lee tells Jared.

"Well, Lee, never been followed by the police before." Jared tells Lee. Lee, who now has Kathleen's keys, unlocks the car door and gets in.

Barn

Kathleen POV

I am in a cage. I am wearing a dirty white T-shirt, and my hair is down. I wake up and groan, massaging my head.

"You alright?" Someone asks me.

"Are you Sam Winchester?" I ask him when I see his face and realize he fits Sam's looks to a t.

"Yeah." Sam says.

"Your, uh, your brother's looking for you and your twin sisters." I speak.

"Thank God. Where is he?" Sam asks, relieved.

"I, uh—I cuffed him to my car." I speak. Sam sighs. The door opens and Dean enters, but Sam and I do not know it is him. Dean observes the barn, disgusted. He sees Sam in his cage.

"Sam?" Dean asks. Sam smiles. "Are you hurt?" Dean asks. "Where'd Harry and the others get to?" Dean asks himself.

"No, I am not hurt, and why are you asking me?" Sam asks.

"Damn, it's good to see you." Dean tells Sam.

"How did you get out of the cuffs?" I ask. Dean turns around and sees me.

"Oh, I know a trick or two." Dean tells me. I stare at him, confused. "Alright." Dean says as he moves to the door of the cage and sees the locks. "Oh, these locks look like they're gonna be a bitch." Dean tells himself.

"Well, there's some kind of automatic control right there." Sam tells Dean as he points to the control panel.

"Have you seen 'em?" Dean asks.

"Yeah. Dude, they're just people." Sam tells Dean.

"And they jumped you? Must be gettin' a little rusty there, kiddo." Dean says. He walks over to the control panel and starts trying different buttons. "What do they want?" Dean asks.

"I don't know. They let Jenkins go, but that was some sort of trap. It doesn't make any sense to me." Sam says.

"Well, that's the point. You know, with our usual playmates, there's rules, there's patterns. But with people, they're just crazy." Dean says.

"See anything else out there?" Sam asks.

"Uh, he has about a dozen junked cars hidden out back. Plates from all over, so I'm thinkin' when they take someone, they take their car, too." Dean says.

"Did you see a black Mustang out there? About ten years old?" I ask Dean.

"Yeah, actually, I did." Dean tells me. I get a sad look. "Your brother's?" Dean asks. I nod.) "I'm sorry." Dean tells me. He pauses. "Let's get you guys out of here, then we'll take care of those bastards." Dean tells us. He points to the control panel. "This thing takes a key. Key?" Dean says, then asks.

"I don't know." Sam says.

"Alright, I better go find it." Dean tells us. He goes to leave.

"Hey." Sam says. Dean stops and turns around. "Be careful." Sam tells Dean.

"Yeah." Dean says. He leaves.

Inside – House

Dean POV

I am in another dark room. I turn on my flashlight and starts to look around. The room is filled with shelves of jars and bottles, which contain various body parts. I look at a container filled with an unrecognizable item.

"Yikes." I say. I keep searching the room and comes across a wall full of Polaroid pictures. Each photo shows Jared and Lee standing next to a dead body. He notices a picture of them holding Jenkins' corpse. "I'll say it again—demons I get. People are crazy." I say to myself. I move to a flight of stairs and climb them.

Upstairs

Pa Bender is in the kitchen, butchering something. I come upstairs and looks around the living room. A record is playing in the background. I bump into a windchime.

"What the -" I start to say. The windchime is made of bones.

I see a wooden pole leaning against the wall and picks it up. I lean against the wall and make my way toward the kitchen. I notice a small tray filled with keys, on a nearby table. I take a peek inside the kitchen. Pa turns around to pick up another tool, and I turn away. I move towards the tray of keys and start to pick it up when I notice a jar full of teeth. I examine it, disgusted, then hears the floor creak behind me. I set the jar down and turn around quickly. Missy is standing before him.

"Shh. It's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you." I tell her. She holds up a knife.

"I know." she says. She sticks the knife into my jacket, pinning me against the wall. "Daddy!" she yells.

"Jeez!" I say and see a glimpse of Harry, Lore, Razi, and Laila.

"Daddy!" the girl's scream distracts me. I remove the knife. Jared and Lee come downstairs. "Daddy!" the girl banshee wails. Jared grabs me under my arms. Lee walks towards us, but I jump up and kick him. Jared throws me into the wall, causing the knife to fall to the floor. Lee runs towards me, but I grab him first and push him to the ground. I then punch Jared but I am thrown into the wall again by Lee. All three of us stand up.

"I'm gonna kick your ass first." I say, pointing at Jared. "Then yours." I say, pointing at Lee. Pa comes up behind me and hits me over the head with a pan. I fall to the floor, unconscious.

Living room

Lorelai POV

The Benders are crowded around Dean, who is sitting in a chair, with his hands tied behind his back. He wakes up, groaning.

"Come on. Let us hunt him." Lee tells his father.

"Yeah, this one's a fighter. Sure would be fun to hunt." Jared says. Pa laughs.

"Oh, you gotta be kiddin' me. That's what this is about? You - you yahoos hunt people?" Dean asks them and I whistle to the others, rescue time.

"You ever killed before?" Pa asks Dean.

"Wh-" Dean starts to say and laughs. "Well, that depends on what you mean." Dean says.

"I've hunted all my life. Just like my father, his before him. I've hunted deer and bear—I even got a cougar once. Oh boy. But the best hunt is human. Oh, there's nothin' like it. Holdin' their life in your hands. Seein' the fear in their eyes just before they go dark. Makes you feel powerful alive." Pa says.

"You're a sick puppy." Dean tells Pa.

"We give 'em a weapon. Give 'em a fightin' chance. It's kind of like our tradition passed down, father to son. Of course, only one or two a year. Never enough to bring the law down, we never been that sloppy." Pa tells Dean.

Laila and Razi went to the barn.

"Yeah, well, don't sell yourself short. You're plenty sloppy." Dean tells Pa.

"And about to die." I say.

"So, what, you with that pretty cop?" Pa asks. Missy looks up at her brother with a smile. "Are you a cop?" Pa asks, then gets ready to take Harry and I on.

"If I tell you, you promise not to make me into an ashtray?" Dean asks.

Pa looks angry. Lee walks over and punches Dean. "Only reason I don't let my boys take you right here and now is that there's somethin' I need to know." Pa tells Dean, looking at me, with my angelic smile. Alright it's shark like. He walks to the fireplace and takes a hot poker.

"Yeah, how 'bout it's not nice to marry your sister?" Dean says, I snort at that.

"Tell me—any of the cops gonna come lookin' for you?" Pa asks.

"Oh, eat me. No, no, no, wait, wait, wait—you actually might." Dean says. Jared walks over to Dean and holds his head in place.

"You think this is funny? You brought this down on my family. Alright, you wanna play games? We'll play some games. Looks like we're gonna have a hunt tonight after all, boys." Pa tells his sons. "And you get to pick the animal. The boy or the cop?" Pa tells Dean.

"Okay, wait, wait—look, nobody's comin' for me, alright? It's just us." Dean says.

"You don't choose, I will." Pa tells Dean. He places the hot poker on Dean's shirt. Dean screams in pain. Pa removes the poker. I go to rush at him only to see guns aimed at me.

"Ah, you son of a bitch!" Dean tells Pa.

Pa places the poker barely an inch from Dean's eye. "Next time, I'll take an eye." Pa tells Dean and I snarl.

"Alright, the guy, the guy! Take the guy!" Dean says. Jared lets go of Dean's head, and Pa moves the poker. He takes a key from around his neck and hands it to Lee.

"Lee, go do it. Don't let him out, though. Shoot him in the cage." Pa tells Lee. Lee walks to the door.

"What? I thought you said you were gonna hunt him. You were gonna give him a chance." Dean says.

"Lee, when you're done with the boy—shoot the bitch, too." Pa tells Lee. Lee nods and leaves, with his rifle. "Better clean this mess up before any more cops come runnin' out here." Pa says. Dean looks scared.

Barn

Sam POV

Lee enters and walks over to the control panel. He inserts the key and twists it.

"What are you doing?" I ask the guy. The door to my cage unlocks and Lee walks towards me. I notice the bracket on the floor and grab it. Lee opens the cage door and aims his gun.

"Hey!" Kat shouts.

Living Room

Dean POV

The three Benders, Lore, Harry, and I can hear a gunshot.

"You hurt my brother, I'll kill you, I swear. I'll kill you all. I will kill you all!" Lore, Harry, and I say. Pa stands up and walks towards the open front door.

"Lee!" Pa yells.

Barn

Sam POV

Lee and I are both out of the cage. I am on top of Lee. I grab the gun and hits Lee in the face with it three times. Lee collapses on the floor. I try to fire the gun, but it does not work.

"Damn." I say.

Living Room

Dean POV

"Lee!" Pa shouts. Lee does not respond. Pa turns to us. "Jared, you come with me. Missy, you watch him now." Pa tells the others. Jared grabs two rifles, hands one to Pa, and they both leave. Missy remains next to me, holding a knife dangerously close to my eye.

Barn

Sam POV

Pa and Jared enter, guns raised, and look around. "Lee! Where are ya? Lee!" Pa shouts. They find Lee unconscious, locked in my cage. "Damn it, Jared, get the lights!" Pa says. Jared moves over to the light switch and pushes it up. The barn remains dark.

"They must have blown the fuses." Jared tells Pa. Pa tries the control panel, but it is broken. They move into another room of the barn. I hide behind a bale of hay. Pa and Jared hear a noise. Jared looks around in one area of the room, while Pa climbs a ladder leading to a balcony. Kathleen moves to a cabinet, unseen, and opens it, but she hears a noise and stops. Jared also hears something. He walks to the cabinet and stands to face it. He fires his rifle several times at the doors, but Kathleen does not come out. Jared opens the cabinet, but finds nothing inside but tools. He looks around the barn, when, suddenly Kathleen falls on top of his back. She wraps her arms around his neck and wrestles with him, before being knocked to the ground. Meanwhile, Pa is chasing after me. He fires his rifle twice, but I escape. While Kathleen is on the ground, Jared aims his gun at her. "You stupid bitch." Jared tells Kat. He gets ready to shoot her, but I enter.

SAM: "Hey!" I shout. Jared turns around and sees me. He fires the gun, but I run away to dodge it. At the same moment, Pa walks in behind me and gets hit with the bullet instead. He falls to the ground. Jared cocks the gun and turns around. I appear behind him and grabs the gun. I hit Jared in the face with the rifle several times, and Jared collapses, unconscious.

Barn

Kathleen POV

Sam places Jared in my cage and closes the door. He walks to the control panel and locks the cage. He makes his way over to me, which I am standing over Pa, with my gun raised.

"I'll watch this one. You go ahead." I tell Sam. Sam stares at me, motionless. "Go ahead." I tell him. Sam leaves.

"You hurt my family, I'm gonna bleed you, bitch." Pa tells me.

"You killed my brother." I tell him tearfully.

'Your brother?" Pa asks. He laughs cruelly. "Now I see." Pa says.

"Just tell me why." I tell him. Pa smiles.

"Because it's fun." Pa tells me. He cackles. I look at him, horrified, and fire the gun.

Outside – House

Laila POV

Dean, Sam, Harry, Razi, Lore, and I walk out the front door and down the porch steps. We meet up with Kathleen, who is leaving the barn.

"Where's the girl?" Kat asks.

"Locked her in a closet. What about the dad?" Dean asks. Kat pauses.

"Shot. Trying to escape." Kathleen says. Allseven of us exchange a look.

Outside – House, Later

Dean, Sam, Harry, Razi, Lore, Kathleen and I are leaving.

"I think the cars at the police station." Dean says. Kathleen is listening to a woman on her walkie-talkie.

"Backup unit en route to your location." the woman tells Kathleen. Kathleen approaches us.

"So, state police and the FBI are gonna be here within the hour. They're gonna wanna talk to you. I suggest that you all be long gone by then." Kat tells us.

"Thanks. Hey, listen, I don't mean to press our luck, but we're kind of in the middle of nowhere. Think we could catch a ride?" Dean asks.

"Start walking. Duck if you see a squad car." Kat says.

"Sounds great to me. Thanks." Sam tells Kat.

"Great dont ask us." I say.

"Listen, uh….I'm sorry about your brother." Dean tells Kat.

"Thank you." Kathleen says. She begins to tear up. "It was really hard not knowing what happened to him. I thought it would be easier once I knew the truth—but it isn't really." Kat says. She pauses. "Anyway, you should go." Kat says. Sam, Dean, Harry, Razi, Lore, and I nod and walk away. Kathleen watches them leave, close to tears.

Road

Dean POV

Sam and I are walking, the others are in their cars.

"Never do that again." I tell Sam.

"Do what?" Sam asks.

"Go missin' like that." I tell him. Sam laughs.

"You were worried about me." Sam says.

"All I'm sayin' is, you vanish like that again, I'm not lookin' for ya." I say.

"Sure, you won't." Sam says.

"I'm not." I say. Sam chuckles.

"So, you got sidelined by a thirteen-year-old girl, huh?" Sam asks.

"Oh, shut up." I say.

"Just sayin', gettin' rusty there, kiddo." Sam tells me.

"Shut up." I say, chuckling. Sam laughs. We continue walking
