We came to a holt in front of large oak wooden door, I glanced up at Emmett wondering why we had stopped,

"so this is my room" Emmett said looking sort of awkward placing one of his hands behind his head rubbing his head, I smiled in response,

"well, it's about time, you have seen and been in room how knows how many times" I joked to him, he smiled and pushed open the door, the light escaped from the room to reveal a large, open plan room which I could only imagine was at least three times the size of my room, I took a few steps into the room and glanced around, the floor the ceiling windows covered the entirety of the back wall, the view was spectacular, the room faced the garden and could see the stream and the forest which faded into the Olympic Mountain range, this was a view I could only dream of, I glanced round the room to see a large black sofa in front of a marbled fire place with one of the biggest televisions mounted on the wall I had ever seen,

"big enough tv?" I joked to him as I turned to look at him, he stood still in the doorway just watching me, a grin came over his face,

"got to have somewhere to play my games" he jokily said to me, I smiled and turned back to look around the rest of the room, I saw a few books and CD scattered on some shelves along the opposite wall to the sofa, suddenly I was confused and turned to face him,

"erm, this might be a stupid question but . . . no bed?" I asked trying not to make myself sound stupid, he laughed,

"don't sleep" was Emmett's simply answer, I looked appalled,

"don't sleep? That is the worst, I can't imagine anything worse" I said honestly, he laughed and shook his head,

"only you Lil" he muttered and walked towards me, I looked at him confused, he came to a stop in front of me and took my hands in his own, the cool sensation brought me comfort,

"you find out vampires exist, are currently standing in a room all alone with someone who feeds off blood and the worst thing is no sleep?" he asked mocking me, I pouted,

"hey! People like me need beauty sleep, you wouldn't want to see me with no sleep" I said seriously, he just stared into my eyes,

"you really have no idea do you" Emmett muttered, I looked up at him confused, I bit my lip lightly, he growled, a low sound in the back of his throat, his lips curled back over his perfect teeth. His body shifted suddenly, half-crouched, tensed like a lion about to pounce. I didn't see him leap at me, it was much too fast. I found myself suddenly airborne, and then we crashed onto the sofa, All the while, his huge muscular arms formed an iron cage of protection around me, I was barely jostled. But I still was gasping as I tried to right myself.

I glared at him in jest, but saw his jaw relaxed as he grinned at me, his eyes bright with humour,

"Liliana, you are the most beautiful" Emmett said and placed a stray kiss on the left side on my neck,

"exquisite" another kiss was placed on the right side on my neck, I gulped my nerves and excitement all rolling into one,

"stunning women I have ever met" Emmett whispered my mouth hovering over my lips, I couldn't help myself and pushed myself forward to close the small distance between us.

Our lips moved in sync, everything else in the world disappeared, in my mind the only people in the world at this minute were me and Emmett, I couldn't help the small moan that escaped my lips, which caused an animal like growl to escape Emmett and suddenly I was pinned beneath him, our lips fighting for dominance, suddenly Emmett pulled back,

"we need to stop" Emmett almost growled as he then placed his forehead against mine, I was confused was I not good? Did I do something wrong

"if we don't, I wont be able to… control myself" Emmett said quietly to me, I blushed and tried to hide my blush by turning my face away from him,

"don't. . . I want to see them beautiful eyes" Emmett muttered, I looked back at him, my blush only intensifying,
"Can we come in?" a soft voice sounded from the hall, suddenly the gravity of what just happened hit, every vampire in this house just heard everything that had just happened between me and Emmett, I struggled to free myself, but Emmett merely readjusted me so that I was somewhat more conventionally seated on his lap, Emmett chuckling in my ear,

"come on in Alice" Emmett said, I glanced to see Alice slowly open the door and I saw her grinning with excitement and Jasper stood behind her in the doorway, my cheeks burned from embarrassment, but Emmett seemed at ease, Alice seemed to find nothing unusual in our embrace; she walked, in fact almost danced, her movements
were so graceful and came to a stop in the centre of the room, where she folded herself sinuously onto the floor.
Jasper, however, paused at the door, his expression unreadable, I suddenly remembered he could feel every emotion radiating from everyone,

"It sounded like you were having Liliana for lunch, and we came to see if you would share," Alice announced, I knew that she was joking but that still didn't stop me from stiffening for an instant, until I realized Emmett was laughing, I glanced round to see him grinning, whether at her comment or my response, I couldn't tell.
"Sorry, closed party, and I definitely don't want to share" he replied, his arms holding me recklessly close, I blushed again and gave a small smile,
"Actually" Jasper said, smiling himself as he walked into the room,

"Alice says there's going to be a real storm tonight, and Lucas wants to play ball. Are you game?" he enquired, stopping beside Alice and placing a hand on his shoulder, the words were all common enough, but the context confused me. I gathered that Alice was a bit more reliable than the weatherman, though. Emmett eyes lit up, but he hesitated suddenly,
"Of course you should bring Liliana, Edward is bringing Bella" Alice chirped. I thought I saw Jasper throw a quick glance at her.
"Do you want to go?" Emmett asked me, excited, his expression vivid, I couldn't disappoint such a face,
"Sure, but umm, where are we going?" I asked trying not to sound stupid,
"We have to wait for thunder to play ball, you'll see why," Emmett said grinning, I nodded
"Will I need an umbrella?" I asked not wanting to ruin my hair, all three laughed aloud, I felt a bit embarrassed for second,
"Will she?" Jasper asked Alice.
"No, The storm will hit over town. It should be dry enough in the clearing." She was positive and sounded certain, I nodded,
"Good, then." The enthusiasm in Jasper's voice was catching, naturally. I found myself eager, rather than scared stiff.
"Let's go see if Carlisle will come." Alice bounded up and to the door in a fashion that would break any ballerina's heart.
"Like you don't know," Jasper teased, and they were swiftly on their way,

"don't have too much fun Emmett" Jasper teased and managed to inconspicuously close the door behind them, I blushed as Emmett grinned,

"Vampires like baseball?" I asked with humour in my voice,
"It's the American pastime" he said with mock solemnity,

"can I play?" I asked not wanting to intrude, he shook his head,

"not a chance, you can watch" he said with a serious tone, not really understanding I wanted to change to subject,

"can I be your cheerleader then?" I asked smiling, he laughed,

"every day babe" he grinned and kissed the top of my head.

The grey clouds were now overcast and was beginning to drizzle as Emmett drove me home, I smiled as I watched the rain drop down the window, I saw as we turned onto our street the all too familiar sight of the weather Ford that was parked on the driveway, Emmett almost growled, I looked confused until I spotted them, standing under the front porch was Jacob Black and Billy sat in his wheelchair, I noticed Bella just getting out of her truck, I turned to Emmett to see his eyes had gone completely black, I reached over and placed my hand over his,

"let me deal with this" I muttered quietly, Emmett didn't look at me as he parked the car, I glanced to see that Billy's face was impassive as stone, glaring towards the jeep and Jacob stared down, his expression mortified, and Bella stood awkwardly at the side,
"This is crossing the line, he has come to warn Charlie" Emmett's low voice was furious, I felt so relieved that dad wasn't home yet.

"hey Em, it's fine I'll deal with this okay, I'll see you later?" I said calmly looking at him, Emmett just nodded, answering Billy's gaze through the rain with narrowed eyes.

"be careful please Lil, the child has no idea about any of it" Emmett said still in a low voice, I bridled a little at the word child,

"Jacob is not that much younger than I am," I reminded him, he looked at me then, his anger abruptly fading

"Oh, I know," he assured me with a grin, I sighed and put my hand on the door handle.

"please be careful, I'll be back around dusk to pick you up" Emmett said, I gave him a small smile,

"okay, I'll see you later" I said softly, he smiled the crooked smile that I loved. "I'll be back soon," he promised, his eyes flickered back to the porch, and then he leaned in to swiftly kiss me just under the edge of my jaw, my heart lurched frantically, and I, too, glanced toward the porch. Billy's face was no longer impassive, and his hands clutched at the armrests of his chair.
"can't wait" I grinned as I opened the door and stepped out into the rain.
I could feel his eyes on my back as I half-ran through the light sprinkle toward the porch.

As I reached the porch, Bella was stood playing with the edge of her jacket, she was never good with confrontation,

"Hey, Billy. Hi, Jacob, dad's gone for the day, I hope you haven't been waiting long" I greeted them as cheerfully as I could manage, while grabbing the key and unlocking the door,
"Yes, Bella was just saying, I just wanted to bring this up" Billy said in a subdued tone. His black eyes were now piercing, as he indicated to a brown paper sack resting in his lap.
"Thanks" I said, though I had no idea what it could be,

"Why don't you come in for a minute and dry off?" I offered as I tried to pretend to be oblivious to his intense scrutiny as I pushed open the door, and waved them in ahead of me, then pushing Bella inside,
"Here, let me take that" I offered, turning to shut the door. I allowed myself one last glance at Emmett, he was waiting, perfectly still, his eyes solemn, I turned back to them
"You'll want to put it in the fridge" Billy noted as he handed me the package. "It's some of Harry Clearwater's homemade fish fry, Charlie's favourite. The fridge keeps it drier." He shrugged, I nodded
"Thanks, I think Bella is running out of new ways to fix fish, and he's bound to bring home more tonight " I repeated, but with feeling this time,
"Fishing again?" Billy asked with a subtle gleam in his eye,

"Down at the usual spot? Maybe I'll run by and see him" he challenged me, oh two could play at that game,
"No," I Bella quickly lied,

"He was headed someplace new… but I have no idea where." Bella said, my face went hard, Bella was awful at lying,

"let some new spot apparently, Bella? Why don't you call mom? I know we said we would both but I'll stay and entertain our guests" I said with a sickly smile, Bella almost looked relieved, she wished them bye and almost ran up the stairs, if anything could make this fail, Bella was the number one on that list, Billy stared at me with a changed expression,
"Jake, why don't you go get that new picture of Rebecca out of the car? I'll leave that for Charlie, too" he said, still watching my every move obvious to Jake,

"Where is it?" Jacob asked, his voice morose. I glanced at him, but he was staring at the floor, his eyebrows pulling together,
"I think I saw it in the trunk, you may have to dig for it " Billy said, Jacob nodded and then slouched back out into the rain.
Billy and I faced each other in silence, sort of sizing each other up, after a few seconds, the quiet started to feel awkward, so I turned and headed to the kitchen. I could hear his wet wheels squeak against the linoleum as he followed.
I shoved the bag onto the crowded top shelf of the fridge, and spun around to confront him. His deeply lined face was unreadable,
"dad won't be back for a long time" My voice was almost rude, Billy nodded in agreement, but said nothing, he was really pushing my buttons,
"Thanks again for the fish fry," I hinted, he continued nodding. I sighed and folded my arms across my chest. He seemed to sense that I had given up on small talk.

"Liliana" he said, and then he hesitated. I waited staring directly at him,
"Liliana" he said again,

"Charlie is one of my best friends" he finished, I nodded
"Yes, of course" I replied crossing my own arms now and leaning against the counter,
"I noticed you and your sister have been spending time with the Cullen boys" He spoke each word carefully in his rumbling voice.
"Yes, I believe we have" I repeated curtly, his eyes narrowed,

"Maybe it's none of my business, but I don't think that is such a good idea" he said simply, my anger soared,
"You're right, It is none of your business" I said quite sharply, he raised his greying eyebrows at my tone,

"You probably don't know this, but the Cullen family has an unpleasant reputation on the reservation" He said putting his hands together on his lap,
"Actually, I did know that," I informed him in a hard voice, this surprised him, the shock evident on his face,

"But that reputation couldn't be deserved, could it? Because the Cullens never set foot on the reservation, do they?" I could see that my less than subtle reminder of the agreement that both bound and protected his tribe pulled him up short,
"That's true," he acceded, his eyes guarded. "You seem… well informed about the Cullens. More informed than I expected" he challenged me, I stared him down,

"Maybe even better informed than you are" I threw right back at him, he pursed his thick lips as he considered that,

"Maybe." he allowed, but his eyes were shrewd,

"Is Charlie as well informed?" He asked with a raised eye, he had found the weak chink in my Armor, I took a moment,
"Charlie likes the Cullens a lot" I hedged. He clearly understood my evasion. His expression was unhappy, but unsurprised.
"It's not my business, but it may be Charlie's, you are his daughters" he said with an unlaying tone, I took a deep breathe,
"Though it would be my business, again, whether or not I think that it's dad's business, right? I mean I am his daughter as you pointed out" I stated, he thought about it while the rain picked up against the roof, the only sound breaking the silence.
"Yes," he finally surrendered. "I guess that's your business, too." He said, I sighed with relief,

"Well that's settled then, thanks, Billy" I replied, trying not to smile to myself,
"Just think about what you're doing, Liliana" he urged, I nodded,
"Okay" I agreed quickly, he frowned.

"What I meant to say was, don't do what you're doing" he said, I was about to lose my temper when I looked into his eyes, and saw them filled with nothing but concern for me, and there was nothing I could say.
Just then the front door banged loudly, and I jumped at the sound.
"There's no picture anywhere in that car." Jacob's complaining voice reached us before he did. The shoulders of his shirt were stained with the rain, his hair dripping, when he rounded the corner.
"Hmm, I guess I left it at home " Billy grunted, suddenly detached, spinning his chair around to face his son.
"Great" Jacob rolled his eyes dramatically."
"Well, Liliana, tell Charlie" Billy paused before continuing,

"that we stopped by, I mean" he said, leaving the double meaning in the air, I nodded,
"I will" I said confidently, Jacob was surprised.

"Are we leaving already?" Jacob asked looking around,
"Charlie's gonna be out late," Billy explained as he rolled himself past Jacob.
"Oh." Jacob looked disappointed. "Well, I guess I'll see you later, then, bye Liliana" Jacob said, I gave him a friendly smile,
"Sure, see you both later" I agreed as I walked to the door, following them,
"Take care," Billy warned me. I didn't answer.
Jacob helped his father out the door. I waved briefly and then shut the door before they were gone.
I stood in the hallway for a minute, listening to the sound of their car as it backed out and drove away. I stayed where I was, trying to process everything that just happened,

"thank god you were there, I don't know what I would have done" Bella's voice said from behind me, I jumped and spun around,

"Jesus Bella!" I shouted, startled by her,

"sorry" she said apologetically,

"sorry that was just. . . a lot, did Edward leave okay?" I asked knowing he was hiding out in her truck, she nodded,

"yep as soon as we were inside, I need your help" she said playing with the edge of her top, I glanced curiously at her,

"how do I tell Charlie, that my boyfriend is Edward Cullen?" she asked smiling, I grinned and linked her arm,

"without giving him a heart attack? I have no clue" I said laughing and grinning.
