Chapter 5: The Order's Reaction

Reincarnation Confusion

That same night…

Aurora stormed down the halls of Malfoy Manor, uncaring as she startled the paintings and one unfortunate house elf with her uncontrolled aura.

The last time she had been so utterly enraged by something that her power hung around her like an angry cloud was shortly after she had regained her memories the first time, in her past life.

She inwardly cursed Hojo yet again. Although she never had any proof that it had been the insane scientist that took her away from Harry in their past lives.

That began the downward spiral into insanity that later branded Harry as a monster to most people, who knew nothing of what he had endured.

It had been a miracle that he had been able to care about another being at all, much less feel a complex emotion like love. Yet, he had loved her anyway despite the odds.

She had cherished that love for the miracle it was. But Hojo just had to stick his nose where it didn't belong, and as a result Harry went insane and she had lost several years worth of memories.

Though her love for Harry had remained, even with her memories of meeting and falling in love with him seemingly erased, she had never been able to bring herself to love another. She had also never truly bought into the propaganda that the media had been spouting about him back then, unlike most people she knew. Even recently, she never really bought into the Daily Prophet's slander of their Boy Who Lived.

It had been funny watching Harry's solicitor tear the Daily Profit apart verbally and threaten Rita Skeeter into silence after the first article came out that summer. They hadn't printed anything even remotely derogatory about Harry since then.

Some part of her had known there was more to the story.

Oh how she had raged internally when she had finally remembered about a year after Harry, or rather, Sephiroth, had been killed for the final time, mourning for what she had lost. The only thing that had stopped her from completely losing her temper right then and there were the identical twin girls who had been present. They looked at her with curiosity and concern, as her fury radiated around her.

That was the thing that she had been the most angry about, that Harry would never get the chance to know their daughters.

She had always wondered why she would sometimes get a pang in her heart when she would look at her daughters, her precious little miracles that had survived the odds much like their father.

The assassination attempt had nearly cost both her and her daughters their lives. That was also how she had found out she was pregnant when she woke from the coma two weeks after being pulled out of the rubble that had been the hotel she was staying in.

She had been shocked and scared and followed the doctor's directions to the letter, since she had been 2 months pregnant when the assassination attempt happened.

Shortly after being discharged from the hospital, she had gotten the urge to travel to the old Centra capital by the sea.

Her family were some of the few who retained more than the bare basics of their people's history.

The nurse assigned to her case insisted on coming with her when she had learned of her intent to travel. Rose Williams had become a dear friend, she wouldn't have been able to get through her pregnancy or raise her daughters without her. She had named the stubborn, tenacious woman the godmother of her twins.

That woman hadn't been afraid of roughing it in the wilds with little to no modern comforts in order to see to the health of her charge. Poppy Pomfrey, the school Mediwitch, reminded Aurora of her good friend greatly.

The Centra had been nomadic thanks to their duties to the planet thus they had few permanent settlements. What they had instead were a multitude of sacred places scattered all over the world that served as safe havens where they could rest on their journeys.

Elysian had been the only true Centra city where the children who were too young to travel and the elderly too old resided.

Something had told her that she would need the protection obscurity offered, so she settled in the forgotten city to give birth to and raise her babies. And six and half months later she had welcomed identical twin girls into the world. They looked like their father with heads of pin straight silver hair. The only thing they had gotten from their mother were their golden eyes.

Rose's reaction to learning that she was a Centra and where they were going had been priceless, causing the woman to become fiercely protective of her and her girls.

As soon as she had gotten her wits about her after the onslaught of memories, she had packed up all of their belongings and informed Rose that they were heading for Midgar, and that had been that. She had kept her emotions in check all through the journey to Midgar, distracting herself by telling her girls and Rose stories about the man she had fallen in love with.

Rose had been shocked that she had not only been in love with the infamous Silver General, but that they had been secretly engaged as well.

He had proposed right before that fateful event that had cost her her memories, but to her surprise she had not lost her engagement ring. She had worn it until she had died and had been buried wearing it.

The girls had been eager to finally learn about their father, though they were children at the time, so she hadn't told them any of the nightmarish details until they had been much older.

Her tales of their father's prowess in battle would lead to the elder of the twins, Vineah, joining Shinra's military and becoming a general, following in his footsteps.

Luckily, they didn't make the same mistakes with her and she had quite the successful career. Although only a few people in Shinra knew of her parentage.

The second twin, Elastia, would go on to become a freelance monster hunter and explorer, who would discover many of the old Centra sacred places that had been forgotten.

When she reached Midgar, Aurora had immediately bullied her way into an audience with Rufus, who had taken his father's place as the president of Shinra by this point. She would have found their reactions to her being alive humorous if she hadn't been so pissed.

She had demanded answers, though she knew she would not like them, needing to know what had happened to everyone she had held dear.

That conversation had nearly shattered her.

Upon seeing the broken expression on her face after explanations were given, in a surprising act of care and intuition for the normally very serious, closed off man, Tseng gently led her to a VR training room and let her destroy monsters to her heart's content.

Tseng had been one of the few people who realized she had more than just the standard Shinra training that all employees were required to have. Though even he had not realized that she was just as deadly as any of the First Class SOLDIERs had been.

This was because, like the Firsts, she had a high concentration of Mako running through her body. When she was little, she had fallen off a cliff while traveling with her parents, sustaining numerous life threatening injuries before finally landing in a pool of natural Mako. It quickly healed her body while she unknowingly absorbed a great deal of it into her own system.

She should not have survived her encounter with raw mako at such a young age yet she had and she had never been able to figure out the reason.

She had treasured the gobsmacked looks on Tseng and Rufus' faces at the skill and power she displayed that day until she died, and even now she still did.

She had become an unofficial TURK for being able to hide that fact from them for so long. The TURKS had been elite spies and assassins, and it wasn't easy to hide anything from them. That she had managed to hide something so monumental from them for so long had earned their eternal respect.

When her grief and rage finally subsided (and the VR training room was quite thoroughly destroyed and in need of repair) she had asked Rufus what she could do to help and had thrown herself into restoring their shattered world.

Though she always made time for her daughters, and Rufus and quite a few of the TURKS had become something like uncles and aunts to her girls much to her amusement, at least her girls would never be without backup. Their overprotective aunts and uncles were master spies/assassins after all, and they'd always have someone to spar with who could take the hits when their mother was busy.

They had even met their grandfather Vincent Valentine a few times, and the former TURK had been the one to teach Elastia all about monsters and their weaknesses. Aiding her greatly in her career as a monster hunter later in life.

Her girls had fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your point of view, inherited both of their parents' supernatural strength, speed, stamina, and healing factor. As well as their enormous magical potential.

Back to the present, Aurora couldn't believe Severus had let his mouth run away with him like that. He was a teacher and a double agent for crying out loud. Both required one to choose their words carefully. The moment anything to do with Harry Potter came up, his brain to mouth filter seemed to have taken a vacation and he came down with a case of open mouth insert foot syndrome.

She knew he had a justifiable reason for his hatred of James Potter. The man had been a huge git, an arrogant self absorbed brat and an all around bully when he had been in school. That did not justify Severus transfering the animosity he felt for the former Potter patriarch to his son, who was nothing like his father had been.

He had gone out of his way to make Harry's school life hell which he didn't need on top of the abuse the Dursleys heaped on him, as well as his little misadventures that happened every school year.

The only reason Harry had tolerated such treatment from Severus after regaining his memories was for the sake of keeping their cover, so no one realized something had changed. She knew, now that their secret was out in the open, that Harry would no longer tolerate the disrespect. (Except in school where it was expected of them to be at each other's throats).

If Severus didn't watch himself and shape up, he would be spending a lot of time as an ice cube or pranked to death by the prankster twins and she wasn't talking about Fred and George. She was talking about Fred and Ron.

Yeah George had mellowed out a lot since regaining his memories as the TURK known as Rude. While he participated in pranks occasionally, even if only as a sounding board for ideas, he left the pranking mostly up to Fred and Ron.

George had been Fred's partner in the TURKS in the past, and was a very quiet individual who kept to himself and was one of the only people who could get Fred to behave. Ron had been always full of energy and pulling pranks right alongside Fred and giving everyone headaches with his seemingly endless energy and enthusiasm.

She chuckled a bit at that, always having enjoyed the chaos they brought, unless it made her job harder. Then she wanted to strangle them like everyone else.

They learned very quickly to leave her out of their pranks after the tongue lashing she had given them. It was the one and only time she had been caught in one of their pranks.

But, sometimes, things needed a good shake up. Otherwise life was boring and repetitive.

Aurora looked up at a knock on her door, and moments later Draco walked in. He had a worried look on his face upon noticing her contemplative mood. He had probably guessed where her thoughts had gone thanks to Severus' words earlier. Which was proven with the words he spoke next.

"You okay sis?"

She would never lie to him about something like this so she replied

"No, I'm not okay. Severus made me remember things I would rather forget."

He winced in sympathy, especially since he had also recalled things this night that he would rather forget.

"But I will be eventually."

"That's about what I thought."

He ran a hand through his gloden blonde hair, a nervous tick that he only allowed himself to show around his closest friends.

Aurora quickly changed the subject.

"How did the rest of the interrogation go after I left?"

He gave a humorless laugh at that

"I told them about the abuse Harry suffered though I didn't go into detail, and about your relationship with him. Then and now. Though I didn't outright tell them you and Harry were courting again."

She shot him an amused look.

"I'll admit, Harry's life thus far is much too similar to his previous one for comfort."

He ignored the furious sound she made at the reminder. Revenge on the Dursleys was rightfully Harry's, and they would not take that away from him. If he needed any help, they'd be there though. The gloves would come off and they would do what they could to make those hateful people's lives miserable for the mistreatment of one of their own.

"I also mentioned your daughters and made a parting comment that will hopefully get Sev thinking, and stop him from making a fool of himself in the future."

"As much as he would deserve it for spewing such vitriol, we really cannot afford him spending too much time as an ice block or barbeque."

She sighed, tempted to shock Severus into next week with lightning for his earlier comments, but agreed with her brother's statement.

Severus, despite his often caustic demeanor with people he didn't care about, was one of the best potion's masters in the world.

As for the mention of her daughters they would have found out about them eventually so she just shrugged and told Draco exactly that.

He sighed in relief, glad he had not overstepped his bounds with her. The twins were a slightly sore subject where his sister was concerned.

"I see. We still have a lot to cover of course, but you got a couple of the more sensitive subjects out of the way, which is good. Although, you probably traumatized our poor parents and godfather with them."

Draco grimaced. A lot of things in their past lives had been unpleasant to say the least, and the things he had mentioned tonight were more so than most.

"I think all we can do for them at this point is reassure them that it's in the past, and while we will never forget what we went through, we try our best not to let it affect our present."

"You're right. No matter how much I don't like it, I hate causing pain to those precious to us."

"Neither do I sis. Neither do I."

In the Potions Professor's Quarters at Hogwarts…

Severus stared pensively into the fire, alone in chambers.

He'd lost his customary blank mask and grimaced openly as he contemplated the mess he had made of the conversation that had taken place tonight. His thoughtless words where Potter was concerned. His goddaughter had every right to be pissed at him, and he was quite upset with himself too.

While he might not have liked being berated like a misbehaving child by his own goddaughter, it was the wake up call he needed to finally see how poorly he had been treating Pott- no, Harry all these years.

The boy had not deserved his prejudiced attitude towards him. He had turned a blind eye when his Slytherin students ruined his potions, and ignored the bullying behavior some of his snakes displayed.

Harry, from what he had seen, was actually a very quiet person by nature. He did not feel the need to fill the air with meaningless chatter, only replying when someone spoke directly to him. Oh he wasn't mute, he just didn't speak unless he felt it was necessary, and when he did it was concise and clear.

He also remembered how excited Harry had seemed in his very first potions lesson, up until he decided to humiliate the boy in front of the entire class by asking questions that weren't even in the first year textbook. He had promptly lost any enthusiasm he had for the class after that.

Harry was actually very good at potions, most likely inheriting that skill from his mother, who could have been a Potions Mistress if she had not lost her life before she could complete her mastery.

His father had been abysmal at potions by comparison, from what he recalled of his old nemesis. It was a miracle the man had passed NEWTS potions with a high enough grade to become an Auror.

The only reason most of Harry's potions went south was because one of his snakes had added an ingredient that made it explode or made it useless.

He seemed to have inherited skills in equal measure from both parents, if the raving of his colleagues was to be believed. Being skilled at potions and charms like his mother, and transfiguration and defense like his father. He wouldn't be surprised if the boy was an animagus already, much like his father had been.

Come to think of it, he wouldn't be surprised if most of the reincarnations, if not all of them were animagi. It would have been a useful skill for them to have and they certainly were not stupid.

They would not have passed up such an advantage, since Animagi were hard to spot when transformed, unless you were a transfiguration master like Minerva, and even then they had to be actively looking in order to spot it.

The only reason Severus had treated Potter like he did was because he was a physical reminder that Harry could have been his son, had he not screwed up his relationship with Lily in their fifth year. That, and that he had lost her to his hated nemesis. He would regret never reconciling with Lily or telling her how he felt for the rest of his life.

He would also regret not recognizing the abuse Harry suffered sooner, too blinded by his hatred of the boy's father.

He should have realized the moment he learned who the boy had been placed with that his home life had been hell. After all, Tuney, as was his and Lily's nickname for her sister, would not have treated Harry well at all. Prissy Petunia had always been jealous of Lily, ever since she learned that she would not be able to attend Hogwarts with her.

He remembered quite well how Petunia's jealousy had grown over the years, and how she had eventually started calling him and Lily freaks of nature. No, Harry had more than likely been treated like filth by his 'family'.

He sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose tiredly. He would take Draco's advice and apologize to both Aurora and Harry the next time he saw them. He would also try to truly get to know Harry, rather than assume he was anything like his father.

No matter how much it burned his pride to admit it, he was in the wrong and he needed to hold out the metaphorical olive branch. Hopefully Harry would be willing to take it.

Besides, they would likely need to work together on occasion now that it looked like they were going to be allies, and he had no illusions that his Lord would not accept the alliance with the reincarnates. He would rather not contemplate what Voldemort would do to him if the alliance fell apart because he couldn't suck up his pride.

Perhaps he could teach Harry a few protection spells, some of the spells he had created and potions he could weaponize. Occlumency came to mind if he didn't already know it.

In the meantime, he would prepare for the Order meeting that had been called tonight. He really did not want to speak of the confrontation that had happened yesterday (again) but, needs must, so he would have to suffer the Order's babbling (such was the life of a spy).

He would definitely bring a vial or two of headache relief potion with him. Dealing with the Order had always been headache inducing (even before his Lord's return). They were so incompetent most of the time it wasn't even funny.

He swore they would lose their heads if they weren't attached to their bodies.

At Number 12 Grimmauld Place…

Bill and Charlie Weasley stood uncomfortably in one corner or the room, watching the other members of the Order wearily. They honestly didn't want to be there, but their father had asked. That's right, their father not their mother. In all honesty they had never understood why their father had married their mother. The two just didn't fit at all.

Molly was controlling, opinionated and demanding and Arthur was understanding, supportive and incredibly kind, never trying to stop his children from doing what they loved. Instead he encouraged them to do whatever their heart chose as a career.

Even going so far as to give them aid where he could, whether that be pointing out books to study or advice on how to to attain their chosen careers. Including who to speak to so they would get the courses in school they needed to pass in order to attain said careers.

Molly on the other hand, if she didn't approve of what you wanted to do, or had done, you would hear about it along with everyone else around you. Usually via the annoyance that was the howler, or just her banshee screeching.

With the twins, she did not approve of their love of pranks and jokes or their desire to open up a joke shop when they graduated, simply because she thought they wouldn't make much money selling pranks. She was so hung up on her children having 'successful' careers that made lots of money (as a result of them being poor) that she failed to see she was hurting her children by stifling their efforts.

She always complained about how the twins' pranks were a waste of time. Going so far as to throw out ones the twins had worked hard on, forcing them to start over.

Then there was the way she spoiled and coddled the youngest siblings. If it wasn't for Ron's friendship with Harry and Harmione, Bill and Charlie were afraid their youngest brother would have stayed a spoiled brat.

Thankfully, he had grown up some in the last year, no thanks to that damn tournament. He was still trying to figure out how the triwizard tournament was reinstated. It had been discontinued for a reason.

Ginny was a lost cause thanks to their mother filling her head with stories of a white knight in shining armor coming to sweep her off her feet. The girl was convinced she was going to be Missus Harry Potter, and woe betide anyone who said differently.

Their sister had their mother's temperament, and could do a very accurate impression of one of her famous rants when she was truly vexed by something.

The eldest Weasley sons knew that she would be very displeased when she finally realized that Harry saw her as a sister and nothing more.

He felt sorry for whatever girl Harry decided to date, having to put up with Ginny, and hoped that whoever it was would be good at dodging, counterspells and potions.

She was far more cunning than she let on, and they wouldn't put it past her to try and get a 'rival' for Harry's affections out of the way by spelling or potioning her in order to do so.

They were brought out of their musings by the arrival of Headmaster Dumbledore, signaling the beginning of the meeting.

Charlie mentally winced at the Headmaster's choice in robes. The man must seriously be color blind to wear such garish robes and think it was a good idea. Neon yellow and acid green stripes really weren't a good combination, and way too bright if he was trying to be stealthy, although somewhat tame for the Headmaster considering there were normally moving objects such as shooting stars as well as the garish colors.

He really had to work hard to occlude his mind in order to keep the reaction from being a physical one as well. He was thankful that Occlumency was required for his job as a curse breaker at Gringotts.

"Good evening my friends, and welcome." Albus said in his trademark grandfatherly voice.

Bill had to mentally snort at the thought of the manipulative old man being anyone's grandfather.

"I apologize for the abrupt meeting but a situation came up that needed immediate addressing. As all of you know Lord Voldmort returned at the end of last year."

Everyone flinched at the uttering of the Dark Lord's name.

"He, and by extension the Dark, have lost a great deal of power in the thirteen years since his defeat. Which means they need to gather support before they can begin a new reign of terror."

Everyone except him and Charlie, as well as Professor Snape and Auror Moody, had terrified looks on their faces at the possibility of another war. Professor Snape was blank faced, and you couldn't really tell Moody's expression.

Bill himself was skeptical, they had heard from their brother that Harry had made no mention of Voldemort being back. He had only mentioned that someone dressed like a Death Eater was rumored to had kidnapped him during the third task via portkey, and he managed to escape from him via the same portkey and a great deal of luck.

The headmaster continued after a moment.

"We received information that a meeting took place last evening, between Dark supporters, and decided to set an ambush."

"Everything went smoothly at first. We had set up anti-apparition and Anti-Portkey wards so the Death Eaters, and what appeared to be Voldemort himself, couldn't escape."

"I myself took the initiative and began the battle with a cutting curse at who I believed to be Voldemort, when a blur came between him and my spell."

Low murmurs filled the room. The Headmaster was no slouch, and Charlie had seen how fast the man could cast spells once. Whatever it was, it had to have been moving incredibly fast in order to intercept a spell from the Headmaster.

"The blur was in truth a heavily cloaked person, from whom I was too far away to identify any features beyond the sword they wielded. It was a silver longsword with a midnight blue edge, a crimson red jewel in the hilt and winglike protrusions on either side."

"It was this sword that deflected my spell, redirecting it into a building."

'Wow'

Bill thought in amazement. That sword must really be something in order to deflect a spell of the caliber the Headmaster could dish out. He would make a note to see what his Goblin employers would have to say about this. They were the likeliest to know anything about such a valuable and powerful weapon.

"Instead of fighting this unknown, I decided it would be better to retreat, since I did not know what else this person might have been capable of."

Some shared worried looks but could see the logic in the Headmaster's decision.

"While I am not entirely certain, there is a good chance that this person was not human, and likely to join the Dark. We should be prepared to face them, and others like them. To do so, I suggest we find out what they are so we might be able to exploit any weakness they might have."

"In the meantime we will continue guarding the prophecy and gathering any information we can on the Dark's movements. The Dark Lord will not make the same mistake, and will no doubt want to know the rest of the prophecy."

They all agreed on that. As much of a hassle as it was to guard the Department of Mysteries where the Prophecy was held, it was the intelligent thing to do. While the Dark Lord was considered insane, he was still one of the most brilliant and powerful wizards alive and, for that reason, should not be underestimated.

"Does anyone have anything more to add before this meeting is adjourned?"

"Severus perhaps." Moody said.

Everyone turned to the potions master for an answer.

"I don't have anything more to add to this meeting Headmaster" He said in an emotionless voice.

"My associates in the Dark are being uncharacteristically tight lipped at the moment, and if we want to get any useful information out of them we must be patient."

The old man frowned a bit at that, still brooding over the fact that they did not have definitive proof that the Dark Lord was back beyond there being more movement in the Dark families than usual. Harry refused to admit that Voldemort was back, and his Lord had altered the mark upon Severus' and the other Death Eaters' forearms to reflect that the Dark Lord still had not returned.

It had amused Severus greatly when the old coot had asked to see his mark and was disappointed to see it was back to being dull after it had steadily been darkening all year. So the old man was forced to consider that something had gone wrong and the Dark Lord had not fully returned once more.

He most likely assumed his Lord was possessing someone again, as he had Quirrell. Most likely Peter Pettigrew, as he was present at the resurrection.

For now the old man could not do much without showing either the Minister or the Head of DMLE definitive proof that the Dark Lord had returned. Since his Lord didn't plan on revealing himself anytime soon, the old man just made himself look like a crazy old fool.

He knew for a fact that Rita Skeeter was having the time of her life running a smear campaign against the headmaster.

Though she wasn't getting far with her smear campaign against Harry Potter after that first article came out, thanks to a solicitor burning her ass on his behalf. He wondered if one of the reincarnations had some dirt on her that caused her to back off so swiftly.

He was surprised back then that the young man had made such a smart move, but now that he knew the boy was a reincarnation, and by the sounds of it had not been anywhere near an idiot in his past life. It made far more sense.

Watching the Headmaster's reaction to that particular move on the young man's part had been highly amusing and he wondered how Harry would handle the interrogation that he was likely to receive from the Headmaster when he was brought to Headquarters later that summer.

He would be sure to be there to watch the show. It was bound to one of the funniest things he had ever witnessed in his entire life.

The Headmaster sighed before bringing the meeting to an end

"Since there is no more information to impart, this meeting is over. Molly, I would like to discuss arrangements for the children's stay here." The Weasley matriarch nodded as the rest of the Order began filling out.

Something about the way the Headmaster said that last bit didn't sit well with the eldest Weasley brothers, so they remained in the shadows outside the kitchen doorway to listen in. Bill noticed the privacy wards that went up the second the last person had exited the kitchen.

Carefully, with the delicacy that made him one of Gringotts' best curse breakers, he used his wand and opened a hole in the wards, without letting their caster know they had been breached, large enough for them to eavesdrop.

As soon as they could hear what was actually being spoken of between the Headmaster and their mother, identical looks of horror crossed their faces. They knew their mother was controlling but they had never imagined that she would go this far.

"Is the potion ready Molly?"

The Headmaster enquired.

"Yes Headmaster"

"And Ginevra knows what to do?" Another affirmative reply.

"Good, the boy needs to be guided carefully if he is to fulfill his destiny for the Greater Good. He seems to have grown far too independent of late, and needs to be carefully monitored."

"The love potion you brewed for Ginevra will allow her to keep a tight leash on the boy."

The two spying on the conversation had no illusions about who the Headmaster was speaking of.

"And what of Sirius?"

"The ungrateful mutt keeps complaining about being cooped up" She said with a disdainful sniff.

"It's either he's kept cooped up here or be dementor food the moment someone catches wind of his presence. I don't know what's so hard to understand about the situation."

"Now Molly, I know Sirius can be a handful but, you must remember that he is a Gryffindor through and through. A man of action can't stand being forced to sit back and do nothing."

Their mother remained silent but they could imagine the derisive look that was most likely on her face.

"I leave things in your capable hands to get this place shipshape for the Order's use." Was the Headmaster's parting remark.

They heard the floo flare to life and knew the Headmaster had gone. They were just about to leave, since the Headmaster had taken his wards with him, when they heard their mother begin to speak to herself in the now empty room.

"Honestly I wish he would just get rid of the rabid dog already. It's bad enough he allows that flea-bitten werewolf into the Order. He just had to allow a Black in as well."

She huffed irritatedly.

"The only good Black is a dead one in my opinion. They are all insane, and as Dark as they come."

The brothers weren't surprised by this. After the talk they had just heard, they were starting to realize they didn't really know their mother at all, if she was capable of aiding in the potioning of someone against their will. They didn't think they could be anymore shocked until they heard the next words out of their mother's mouth.

"At least I have practice making love potions, I have been potioning Arthur for years. A little love potion and some fertility potion for the both of us and he was forced to marry me, the gullible, naive fool that he is."

"It's unfortunate I ended up dirt poor, otherwise I would have picked someone else. Oh well, it won't matter much longer. Soon Ginny will be married to Harry, and she'll have access to the Potter fortune. I will finally have the fortune I should have had all along."

Bill and Charlie hurried away from the door, not wanting to hear anymore of their mother's sick twisted plans.

Everything made a horrible amount of sense now. Their mother had been poisoning their father for years.

One thing was for certain, they would be informing their father immediately and would ensure his system was flushed of the love potion his mother had been dosing him with. Charlie would bring a pensieve and show his father the memories of listening to his mother talk about what she had done if it came to it.

They'd need to get him away from the Burrow and to someplace where neither Molly nor Dumbledore would think to look for him.

Charlie and his brother shared looks of determination. No matter what, their father would soon be free of their mother, and with luck, would find someone worthy of the love they knew their father was full of.

He could certainly do better than their harpy of a mother that was for sure.

They would also tell Ron to warn Harry so he would not suffer the same fate. Unbeknownst to the two eldest Weasley siblings, Harry had already prepared for the eventuality that someone would try to dose him with a love potion, if not for his fame then his fortune. Most likely both. It was always good to have forewarning of such things though.

Next Chapter: The meeting with Voldamort and his Inner Circle continues and they get a surprising demonstration that leaves them speechless.
