Chapter Eleven
Later…
Matt was finishing giving his information to the team as Alan and Larry were listening to the conversation and they both wondered what they could even do to help out with the investigation, though Alan himself disliked some of the celeb cases, like this one, that the FBI gets involved in.
He wasn't too familiar with the Lauers, though he had heard some of Aria's music, which he found to interesting and only saw one of Jake's movies, the title which he couldn't recall, something along the lines of The Deceiver and he found the movie interesting, though he mainly just remembered the one liners and a couple of the car chases.
'I should check out his other movies sometime.' Alan thought as he turned to look at Larry, who looked vaguely distracted but he still couldn't tell
"What's on your mind?" Alan asked
Larry smiled as he turned to face Alan.
"Megan and I are having coffee this Saturday, time permitting, though I believe we shall be able to do so."
This made Alan smile, as he could tell that Megan and Larry seemed to like each other and was glad that they seemed to be moving forward and he wanted his friend to be happy.
"Good for you, hope you two enjoy yourselves." He said as he turned to see that Don was still talking with Matt and just sighed, hoping that this whole thing would be over sooner or later.
Charlie was listening to the whole conversation and was a little concerned about the newest variables, especially the latest victims, actors Jason and Laura Kirkman, making him wonder if anyone else could be a victim of their stalker and, if so, how many of them?
He sighed as he grabbed his notebook, knowing that he is going to have to work on a new way to account for the newly surfaced victims and learn their patterns, which he was already having a difficult time with the Lauers on that end.
'This one really feels strange too.' He thought to himself, as he knew that high-profile people don't have much privacy, something he knew from experience when he was at Princeton and didn't have much with his fellow mathematicians when he had published papers.
He shook his head, knowing he needed to focus on the case and he could tell Don was now finding himself under pressure from Merrick, and soon, the press to solve this case and he needed to do what he could to help.
'I'm going to have a talk with Merrick after this to let Don have a vacation, he definitely has earned one.' He thought to himself
Don was relieved when Matt finally finished, as now he can gather his thoughts more on the case and go talk to the Kirkmans and see how their case compares.
It made him internally groan, as he had heard of their reputations of being incredibly stuck up and refusing to associate themselves with the more "common folk", among other things that he had heard rumors about and he was not looking forward to having someone interview them.
He thought of Colby and David, while he knew they were still working on their issues, they were still agents and knew how to do their jobs.
He just hoped it would be the right call.
