A/n: Thank you to everyone who read and reviewed the previous chapter, I bet you weren't expecting something so soon! This one is based on a suggestion by Cutetyhil, where Tyson shows off his jealous/over-protective side. It is kind of tiny compared to the previous chapter, but I hope you enjoy it Simy!

Also my recent rewatch of the Japanese dub had made me realise that nobody really talks about how violent Tyson is? Rei announces he's leaving the team and Tyson grabs his collar ready to punch some sense into him. In one episode he ties Daichi to a pillar and tapes his mouth shut and leaves him there for an entire day! Yeah, the Champion has some issues we need to address.

Summary: Tyson overhears a not-so-decent conversation about his girlfriend and decides to teach a lesson to the perpetrators.

Tale 06

"Why him?"

It was a question he'd heard people around them ask Hilary quite often once they entered high school. To the whole school the fact that Hilary was dating Tyson always seemed unbelievable and people often suspected it to be a joke or a prank. Not that Tyson was bothered much by it, he hadn't ever been the type to care about what other people thought of him and that wasn't about to change now. It did bother Hilary however, whenever a junior would pop up next to her and reconfirm with her whether she really was dating Tyson or not and conversations like these would always leave her fuming and him laughing.

According to Chief, the disbelief over Tyson and Hilary's relationship mostly stemmed from the fact that Hilary was a model student and ranked at the top of their school and was well liked by teachers and students alike, while Tyson was associated more with delinquency and was generally feared because of his Beyblading background. Tyson hadn't actually done anything to achieve this reputation, it was just a result of misunderstandings and rumours based on half truths spread across by the few who had witnessed some of his more intense battles in the past.

While Hilary viewed this as a nuisance and the constant scrutiny over their relationship by the student body drove her mad on many occasions, Tyson on the other hand actually found it all quite amusing. It showed him a side of Hilary that he wasn't used to just yet. Her being on the extreme defensive, listing out all his best qualities at the drop of a hat, talking about him like he was all that mattered to her, boosted Tyson's confidence and gave him the kind of adrenaline rush that even a good bey-battle hadn't ever been able to.

But more than anything, he felt reassured of the fact that he didn't need to be insecure about their relationship at all. His friends teased him tirelessly about how Hilary was way out of his league and that he should be forever grateful, which Tyson was, but at the beginning these comments did make him worry just a little bit. Worry about whether a day would come when Hilary would also see that indeed she could do better than him and leave him behind without a second thought.

And then the fact that they were in a relationship spread across their school like wildfire and Tyson witnessed first hand just how much Hilary cherished him, wiping any thoughts or insecurities of her dumping him in the future from his mind immediately. It also made him realise that he'd never have to feel jealous because clearly his girlfriend was into him and him alone. He was arrogantly proud of this, showing off in front of Mariah that Hilary hanging out with any of the other guys never bothered him the way Rei keeping in touch with Salima bothered the pink-haired girl. This did however, earn him a few slaps and punches from not only Mariah and Rei but also Hilary and Salima on many occasions.

So it was a bit confusing for him, when he dropped by the town library during their summer holidays on Hilary's request, to see some guys from his school huddled around one of the larger tables openly ogling at his unsuspecting girlfriend. His fists clenched instantly at the sight, he felt his blood boil with the intention of immediately heading over to the table and punching their faces into oblivion. Starting a fight and punching someone had always been Tyson's favourite method of resolving problems, but recently Kai had been teaching him tricks to control his anger, teaching him how to assess the situation and react accordingly.

The blue haired teen decided to take a few deep breaths and gradually managed to unclench his fists. He lifted his hands to his cap, turning it around to fix it into the correct position, instead of his usual backward style. It shaded his face enough for him to not be recognised immediately. The thought of him wearing the hat correctly in itself being a perfect disguise for him almost made Tyson laugh out loud, but he stopped himself in time and reminded himself that he needed to be discreet. And the only way to be discreet in a library was to be absolutely silent.

He crept up quietly behind the group of boys, taking a seat on the adjacent table, with his back turned towards them. He picked up a book that had been lying in front of him, probably left behind by the previous occupant of the seat, and decided to flip through it to keep up the pretence. His ears however, were sharply tuned into whatever was being discussed on the table behind him.

"I've known Tachibana san since Elementary school and honestly she never looked this pretty back then."

Tyson rolled his eyes, Hilary had been the only girl who'd ever caught his eye when they were kids, this boy clearly had poor eyesight as a kid.

"I love how smart she is! Look at her now, picking up all the English novels and not the Japanese translated versions!"

She wasn't just good at English, she'd already mastered Chinese and was well on her way to become fluent in Russian under Kai and Tala's tutelage.

"And she's so fierce, I mean can you imagine being scolded by her? I'd honestly be a little turned on."

Tyson smiled smugly, he was one of the lucky few she cared enough about to really get furious with. And although he didn't want to count himself in the same category as the other boy, their fights had started to turn into make-out sessions recently because Tyson couldn't control himself.

"And to think all of this is wasted on that idiot."

A light chuckle escaped his lips. He stood up quietly, making sure to not catch anyone's attention. He pulled his hat backwards into its original position, as he sauntered towards where Hilary was standing between two shelves, having trouble choosing a single book out of all the available options. Just as he took his place behind her, she stretched her hand towards the top shelf in an attempt to get the book that had caught her eye only for her hand to fall short as she wasn't tall enough. Tyson interjected immediately, taking the book off the shelf as she spun around to face him.

"Tyson! I didn't think you'd show." She beamed up at him, her cheeks quickly turned red as she noticed the distance between them, or rather the lack of it.

He grinned at her in response, handing the book over to her which she accepted gladly, hugging it to her chest with both her hands. All Tyson wanted to do was take a look at the shocked expressions the boys from earlier would probably be displaying right now, but he reminded himself that the lesson still hadn't been taught yet. His grin turned into a cocky smirk as he shifted closer to the brunette, who instinctively took a step back, pinning herself against the shelf in the process. Confusion then excitement flashed through her eyes as Tyson lifted both his hands and rested them against the shelf on both her sides, blocking her escape routes completely.

"Tyson, what are you-" He pressed his lips against hers before she could even finish the sentence.

What Tyson had been expecting was Hilary pulling apart immediately and smacking his head with the thick book in her hand and reprimanding him for pulling a stunt like this at the library. What he hadn't been expecting was Hilary dropping the book on their feet to put her arms around his neck and pulling him deeper into her.

Many thoughts ran through Tyson's mind as neither him nor Hilary made any attempt to pull back from the kiss. He was amazed by the intensity of her reciprocation because he knew how much she hated public displays of affection, some times she'd even be too shy to hold hands in front of his Grandpa which irked Tyson to no extent. But here she was, in a place she referred to as her sanctuary, allowing him to slip his tongue into her mouth as casually as if they were cooped up in her room when her parents weren't home. Or maybe being in the library and doing something risky like this was what was turning her on, making Tyson contemplate whether he should put the library in between him being sweaty after a run and him winning a match on his things that turned Hilary on was a good spot to make out in though, that much Tyson had figured out when he had hatched this plan, he made a mental note to inform Hilary of this later, that with the way they were positioned, the only ones who could see them were the three boys who had been leering at her earlier, so she'd be more convinced to repeat these actions in the future as well.

Although the thought of the lesson being taught successfully did cross Tyson's mind a while ago, the taste of Hilary's strawberry flavoured lip gloss and the scent of her vanilla perfume had completely consumed him, making him forget all about the original plan. And it was only when the two teens realised that they needed to breathe did they finally break the kiss, gasping heavily, lips still tingling from the sensation of the other's touch.

Tyson pulled his hands back to his side and with his smirk growing wider, he finally looked at the boys from earlier and triumphed at the sight of them staring at the whole scene with their mouths hanging open and eyes bulging wide. The minute the boys realised that Tyson was staring directly at them, they shot up from their seats and started scrambling to get their belongings in order so they could leave before Tyson could approach them. But the World Champion was faster than they could've ever imagined and within seconds he was at their table, a cold smile playing on his lips. The boys froze in their tracks completely, fear dominating their faces as Tyson eyed all three of them warily, before his eyes landed on the open notebook lying in the middle.

He calmly reached out for the notebook, picking it up he tore a single page from it and dropped the notebook back onto the table. After making sure that he had the full attention of the three imbeciles, he began to crumple the paper with both his hands till it turned into a tiny crushed ball. The boys were silently watching his every move carefully and he even heard their loud, anxious gulps multiple times. Tyson could feel Hilary watching him intently too and not wanting to drag this on any longer, he dropped the ball on top of the notebook.Placing his palms on top of the table, he leaned in closer with his icy smile growing wider as he spoke through gritted teeth.

"Next time I see you hovering around my girlfriend, I will do to your head what I did to that piece of paper."

"Was that really necessary?"

Tyson passed a sheepish smile to Hilary next to him, as they continued their slow stroll back to her house, hand in hand, fingers entwined ever so tightly.

"Well they needed to know their place, Hils." Tyson replied confidently, knowing Hilary would roll her eyes at this and she did.

"They're going to spread more rumours about your temper now," she sighed wearily, resting her head against his shoulder and Tyson felt slightly guilty. He hadn't meant to make her worry about him, he just wanted to scare the idiots off.

"In my defence, I handled it pretty maturely. I mean there was no punching or kicking involved so that's worth noting." Tyson attempted to lighten the mood and thankfully it worked as Hilary giggled in response.

"No argument there. Do tell Kai all about it, he loves to gloat to Rei about how he's the only one who can get through to you." Hilary laughed, the sound of which instantly made Tyson feel warm and giddy.

"And I'd consider myself crazy for actually finding what you did kind of cute, but I think I already crossed that line when I fell for you." Her laugh turned into soft a chuckle as she playfully punched his shoulder with her free hand.

"Buckle up then Hilary, because everything I do is laced with the ulterior motive to get you to think I'm cute." Tyson grinned wolfishly at her. The blue haired teen had already realised that the boys from earlier weren't the only ones who'd been taught a lesson today.

Tyson had learned that he needed to go to the library more often.
