A/N: Thank you for the wait. It's been a while, and work, well, work. It never gets better. Mine got worst with the arrival of a new female, unmarried, micromanaging superior. Too much on my mind, so it'll take a while for me to update. I'll write whenever I can alright?

So recently I've watched an anime movie that I have been waiting for so long. Belle (2021). Lovely, lovely anime. I kept rewatching them. So lovely. I love all of the songs so, I was listening to it while I write so I incorporated it into here.

For this chapter, the song I'm using is titled Uta Yo by Kaho Nakamura as Belle.

Happy Reading~

Stay safe out there.

To Inumaki, the lovely boy with gorgeous amethyst eyes.

48. Gales of Song, The Golden Veil

Reverse Cursed Technique under her Veil. This should work. Just need a bit more Cursed Energy to make it work. Remembering the technique on imagining her positive cursed energy flowing from her stomach to her lungs and out through her voice from Gojo-sensei, Maguro again imagined pouring the Reverse Cursed Technique she has learnt from Ieiri-sensei into her voice instead of out on her palms.

Back to the time when she has healed Inumaki with her technique for the first time, standing so close to him as she pulled down the zipper to his high collar, revealing his lovely visage.

Looking down at Inumaki, Mguro touches his cold face. She needs to be quick about this.

No more waiting around for anyone else to save her. This time, let her be the one to have their backs.

Maguro takes a deep breath and hum out a song she had in her head to guide her on making the barrier for them. This… Maguro prayed hard. Please, let this work. Let this work!

"Maguro…" Inumaki whispered to her in his mind. She immediately looked at him. Smiling weakly, Inumaki thought about how much he liked it when he can get her immediate attention just by calling her name. Before he regrets it, he wanted her to know it before anything worst happens.

Of how much…

"I love you," Inumaki finishes his thought to her, palming her face gently in his hand. "Very…much…do you know that?"

Looking down at Inumaki safely held in her arms, she nodded her head and hugged him tightly. The bad feeling, she had felt it in her gut before the competition starts. It really has happened. Inumaki, her beloved, has gotten so hurt. A tear fell from her eyes. She just wants him to be safe.

"I know, Toge-kun, hold on," Maguro whispered into his ears. "I…I got you. Just hold on. Just a while more."

For the sake of everyone, she'll have to try this.

La lala, La lala lala

Dear song, guide me!

She started with a simple tune. Almost immediately, she could feel the positive cursed energy starting to well up within her, pooling in her stomach and her heart as her Will helped gather the energy around.

I want to see a world

Where this tiny melody runs throughout

Every morning, I wake up and search

As she continues singing, the energy that gathers around her becomes stronger. Coupled with her will to save everyone within this cursed veil, the energy started to feel warm, a sign that what she is gathering around her is a positive energy.

Positive energy from her own soul. This could drain her, but this situation gives her no choice to think otherwise.

Saving them comes first, more so Inumaki Toge.

He means the world to her. And even if it means she would have to use up all her cursed energy, power, and life, she would.

Just to keep him safe.

All because he is her most favourite person in the world.

I don't want to imagine

A future without you. I don't want to

Pulling herself away from him, Maguro held his face in her hand and leaned her forehead against his. From her voice, she willed the Reverse Cursed Technique out to the barrier, combining it to weave a net of Veiled Reverse Cursed Energy around her. The veil of golden net glows and grow rapidly in waves of nettings around both of them, ready to be cast out into the skies.

But you're already gone, and I don't know what's right

Everyone seems to be doing well except for me

She lost her entire family to a Special Grade Cursed Spirit. She wasn't about to lose Inumaki Toge to the spirit too. She's tired of losing people she loves. She will be staying by his side no matter what.

Yet, tomorrow will still come…

Sitting up straight with him in her arms, she controlled the strength of her Casting out the veil. Weaving the Reverse Cursed Technique around it, Maguro gathered in her stomach the chi and energy requires for her to cast them out in a wide area to protect her friends so she could heal them. The curse and the power overflows from her in a warm protective cocoon and enveloping her in a soft golden glow.

Dear song, guide me!

Lifting her hand up to point up to the sky, she releases the cursed energy she amasses around her and Inumaki's body by opening her palm, pushing all of it out of her being by casting it out with her voice

The barrier net with the weaved Reverse Cursed Technique soared to the sky in a bright golden glow, her voice and words brings it to widen in the skies around the building, protecting the humans staying in the barrier. It formed a dome of golden net around them on the roof, widening as she continues to pour positive cursed energy into it. She wanted to heal them all, and with this barrier, she hoped that she will be able to filter out the cursed veil's energy and heal Inumaki and the rest.

I hate it. Everyone, are you happy?

Is there someone you love?

As her thoughts ran in her head, golden drops of honey-like substance dripped down from the barrier like rain. It dripped onto an old scar Maguro had on the back of her hand. As it melted into her skin, the scar vanishes. Her eyes widened in surprise.

This liquid, Maguro thought to herself. This liquid…they heal.

She remembered then what Akihiko had told her earlier about the four tails manifested out in the realm. It was according to the abilities she has mastered. This liquid is gold in colour, and it heals.

Was this the Golden Veil?

She shakes her head. Save them first. Questions later.

Bringing her hand down, Maguro again gathered the energy around her body in her hand and throw it up to the barrier, where it then rained harder from the amount of cursed power it was fed to. She smiled. They're saved.

When I'm alone like this, I get so anxious

Dear song, guide me

I don't care what happens anymore

Holding her hand palms up in a cup motion, Maguro gathered the golden liquid in her palm to feed to Inumaki. When it was decently full, Maguro brings it to his lips.

But Inumaki had closed his eyes.

Her heart wrenches painfully. No, no, Toge-kun? Toge-kun! Don't sleep yet!

The golden liquid flowed uselessly down his chin as blood dribbled down from the corner of his mouth. His throat must have brought him so much pain that he collapses from it. Biting her lips, Maguro looked down at the liquid on her hand and the Inumaki in her arms.

He is injured internally. He needs to ingest this liquid for him to heal.

That's it then, Maguro thought, bringing her palm to her mouth, and drinking up the golden liquid. He must drink it to heal.

Tilting his head up, the barrier caster held his handsome face in her palms carefully and leaned down, kissing him under the shower of golden rain.

Dear song, stay by my side

Dear love, come closer to me
