72. Off You Go
A little itch. That's all Inumaki felt in his throat. Nothing that he hadn't handled before.
Inumaki closed the window and latched it on properly, watching Nishimiya Momo's retreating figure walking robotically back towards the guest dorm. The power of his words from the Snake and Fang cursed marks are commanding enough on someone like Nishimiya Momo, and he's confident that she will never again come bother them with her unnecessary need for attention. The night is still early too, so she probably won't bump into anyone else on her way back to the guest's dorm.
He sighed in regret at her small back gradually being engulfed in darkness.
Damn this girl.
He pulled the curtains close. But then decided to pull them aside after a brief pause and give the area outside his window a quick perimeter check. There were no more humans around. Just his garden- no, wait!
His shiny stones. There was a nice line surrounding the plants he has planted, and all of them are stones handpicked by the river. There is a few of them missing, breaking the line surrounding the plants.
Everyone in Tokyo Jujutsu High knew that is his area, and he's taking care of it daily. No other people pass by this area often, and there's no Kyoto students interested to take this path because there's nothing much to see here.
Except Nishimiya Momo.
Fuckin dammit. Must be her.
When he saw her at the window, Inumaki was just one second away from telling her to get out of his sight, but stopped himself just right before he speaks.
A conversation from Maki and Nobara had reminded him of a possibility…
That the Witch of Kyoto "should just give up on him. I mean, wasn't it obvious enough how much Toge likes Maguro with how much he dotes on his Tuna? Nobody gets any sweet treats from him except Maguro."
"But she's probably just stubborn," Nobara had yapped on, with Itadori nodding his head along with the conversation whilst having his hand deep inside a bag of chips. "The poor witch probably just realize Inumaki-senpai's good looks. I mean, any babies Inumaki-senpai chooses to have with his woman of choice would be gorgeous."
"Senpai's taken though," Itadori joined in the conversation, his eyes looking inside the bag of chips, lulled by the free gift advertised on the front cover of the bag of chips. "The witch will give up. Senpai's totally out of Maguro-senpai's league."
And in that split second, he changes his mind.
"Go back to your dorm," Inumaki had said. The command was immediate. Her body turned around as she trudged slowly towards the guest dorm, but she protested still.
Loudly.
Inumaki clicked his tongue. This is getting messy.
"No! This isn't fair! You- You were supposed to be single!" she exclaimed, tears streaming down her eyes. "Tsukigami Maguro! You aren't supposed to be here! You aren't supposed to be with him!" she exclaimed. Inumaki caught Maguro closing her ears with both her hands, crouching down on the floor as she tries not to let this situation gets to her.
Maguro didn't deserve this. Not any mess, not any trouble.
Nothing should disturb his Tuna.
Biting his lips, he decided then - that Nishimiya Momo will never be able to remember tonight.
She doesn't have that right.
"You will not remember anything tonight," he added his cursed words. The power of his words surges towards the Witch without mercy, wrapping it around her and forced her mind to black out. "Never remember what you have seen, hear or smell tonight. Forget your damn crush on me and leave Maguro and I alone."
With that said, the command sinks in, and Nishimiya's eyes went blank.
Off you go now, Nishimiya Momo, he had thought.
It was on the spur of the moment that he had demanded the Kyoto Tech's Third Year to forget what she had saw, forget this nonsense she has been pulling around with him and Maguro, and to go back to her room immediately. The Cursed Words command settles onto her regardless of her tears, protest and screaming. And seconds later, her face blanked out.
Nishimiya is just a Grade 2 Sorcerer. Inumaki, being a Semi-Grade 1 Sorcerer, overpowers her in ways she can never achieve.
She couldn't do anything else but obey him.
After all, who could deny the Cursed Speech User's Words?
He felt a light tug of his shirt behind him. He turned to find his Maguro shyly looking down on the floor with pursed lips, her eyebrows slanted together in a miserable look.
Inumaki smiled. His girlfriend can be so cute at times.
"I'm sorry, Toge-kun," Maguro mumbled shyly, her face reddened up when the thought of their time together was interrupted by her being so surprised at Nishimiya's presence outside the window. She had scared her. It was a disturbing sight to see someone standing there, and to imagine if they were to have taken off their clothes…
Imagine that her Inumaki had pulled down his pants…
Her eyes widened in shameless horror.
Holy crap. Nishimiya could have taken pictures of Inumaki's bum.
She'd be damned if some other girls were to see his butt first before she did.
Inumaki smiled and gently grasped her hand, placing it on his chest, where his heart lay beating beneath and pulling her thoughts back to him. "Whatever for? It wasn't even your fault. I'm glad, by the way. I definitely don't fancy a spectator watching us like that. It's creepy, isn't it?"
Maguro nodded her head, feeling hopeless in their endeavour to be alone for longer than even half an hour. She looked up at him, bit her lips, and sighed sadly. She really wanted him. Inumaki sensed her disappointment and wrapped his arms around her gently.
"Seems like our plans to be together tends to get interrupted when we're here at school," he chuckled, rocking Maguro from side to side in hopes to lighten her mood. He sighed dramatically and continued, "Looks like there's no other choice but that then."
That caught her attention.
That?
What's 'that'?
At this point, she'd be willing to take up anything. Closet, bathroom, forest – heck, even sauna if it gets her to be alone with him.
She just didn't want to regret anything.
"Hmm?" Maguro looked up, seemingly unbothered by her own thoughts. Inumaki is smiling down at her softly and lightly ran his thumb across her cheeks lovingly. They're so smooth and soft, like mochi. "What other choices do we have?"
Taking a deep breath and hummed, Inumaki kisses her forehead gently and pulled her to his bed. Sitting on it himself, he pulled her into his lap and held her like a babe. He really liked to hold her in his arms. Maguro is someone he cherishes a lot. To hold her in his arms appeases the sense of unease he tends to feel when he is away from her.
To know that she is safe in his arms is what puts him at ease, especially after the recent attack this morning. Like Maguro, he didn't want to regret anything too.
"Tomorrow would be the last event for the exchange program," Inumaki started, patting her thigh rhythmically like how one would soothe a hurt and sad baby. He can feel from their bond that she is disappointed with how things turn out, and a little embarrassed that this sort of interruption kept happening between them. Gently grasping her chin to look up at him, he leaned in and brushed his nose against hers to hopefully divert her attention back to him. When she squeaked and recoiled shyly like a tortoise, he smiled. Mission accomplished.
"Since it is the last event, this would mean that Summer Holiday would commence right after the event ends. We can all go home for a week."
He felt Maguro stiffens in his arms. He knew where her thoughts just went to. Summer Holiday and home – these two might have great meaning for Maguro, but now, she had no one waiting for her at home. Not wanting her to misunderstand the reason why he brings this topic up, he quickly held her hand up to his lips and kisses the back of her fingers.
He had been wanting to ask her about this, but he didn't know how exactly he could ask her. He contemplated just telling her on the day the summer holiday starts, maybe just ask her to pack a few essentials and follow him back home, but felt that it would be disrespectful of her if he were to tell her as a last-minute resort. As if she wasn't important.
As if she wasn't family already.
Looking up at her through his lashes, Inumaki spoke to her through his thoughts.
"Maguro," he started in a serious tone. "If you would do me the honour of accepting my invitation, would you come home with me for the summer holidays?"
