As the moon rise from its slumber, the Hooligan Tribe receives some visitors that came from Hiccup and his friends who were now resting while watching the bonfire, Astrid, Fishleg, Roar and Stoick were eyeing Hiccup who sitting beside Frode whose sharpening his sword. The people were watching and busy tending their guests from behind as some of them saw the chief's son sitting with his friends who resting with their instruments that looks so new and foreign to them. The blonde valkyrie mustered her courage to ask Hiccup, suddenly they heard a sound of rattling chains from the distance. Stoick, Astrid, and the tribe bemused at the sound of the rattling chains, after that, the strangers start playing their respective instruments, and Hiccup starts to sing.
Bellows of pain
And scraping of chains
The echoes they taunt and deceive me
Oceans of blame
And rivers of shame
The fury it never leaves me.
Grief in the snow
The winter of woe
Has come here to judge and bereave me
Lock up the rage
It rattles the cage
The fury it never leaves me.
They hum, earning the spectators to listen to this strange, catchy music that they never heard before. Stoick and Astrid were puzzled about the meaning of the song as they performed.
Always within
To lurk in the skin
The wounds ever aching so deeply
Try as I may
To hide it away
The fury it never leaves me.
Long I've suffered the hunger
Long I've silenced the cry
Long I've fled from the thunder
To ascend
Still I try
To carry the pain
To keep it contained till the end.
As they hum again, this attracts the villagers more. They come in all directions to listen to this wonderful song. Unlike Stoick and Astrid, even Fishlegs realized the meaning of the song.
Pour out the anger and hide it away
Lest it spill to the blameless and lead them to pain
In the steel and the rags I will cover the shame
So the innocent need not be judged in my name.
Pour out the anger and hide it away
Lest it spill to the blameless and lead them to pain
In the steel and the rags I will cover the shame
So the innocent need not be judged in my name.
Long I've suffered the hunger
Long I've silenced the cry
Long I've fled from the thunder
To ascend
Still I try
To carry the pain
To keep it contained till the end.
They start synchronizing their parts creating the song's final ending.
Bellows of pain
And scraping of chains
The echoes they taunt and deceive me
Oceans of blame
And rivers of shame
The fury it never leaves me.
As they finished the song, the Hooligans cheered once again, and they were delighted to hear it again. Hiccup and the others sat idly, staring at the cracking of fire on the bonfire with solemn expressions that were written on their faces. Stoick saw this, and he calmed his people down. When the people suddenly calm themselves, they heard chains rattling nonstop as Hiccup stands up and walks toward the bonfire.
Frode and the others stand up as they saw Hiccup walking, as Hiccup finally stands face to face with his friends, his tribes, his bullies, the girl that he loves, her boyfriend, and most of all his father.
Hiccup take a deep breath and start his speech.
"Strangers from distant lands, friends of old. You've been summoned here to answer the threat of the Floki's Empire of Piracy that plagues our beloved Midgard in three generations, it's time for us to fight back and cleanse this disease for our Midgard FOREVER!" His friends shouted as their spirits rustled up as Hiccup's words entered their hearts and warrior spirits.
This surprise Stoick and his people with the sudden confidence he shows in front of the people, they even think about the boy who was a scrawny, weak, and fragile wee lad who turned into a man who fought his own wars, with the fearless and unwavering spirit of a viking(warrior), Stoick look at his son in pride and joy. Hiccup continued.
"My friends, I thank you for coming here today. Even though, this will be our last meeting before the battle with the pirates, I just wanted to know. Without you guys, I don't know where I am today, thank you for everything". He kneeled before them, Stoick watched his son as he delivered his speech to his men, he kneeled in front of them in such Un-Viking way. He was not prepared for what happened next, Hiccup's men bowed one by one as they called him in such titles.
"My lord".
"My liege".
"Sir Hiccup".
"Chief Haddock".
"The United One".
"The Wise".
"Our Friend".
"Our Chief".
"Our Dearest Brother".
This surprised to Hiccup as he saw his friends kneel one by one for him as they said their titles to him, the auburn teen was shaking as he cannot control his character.
"Where did these titles come from? H-How did I deserve those?" He asked in a shaky tone as he felt his eyes getting watery and Ulf replied in a smile.
"Ever since you set foot on our land, I know that there's something in you that was waiting to be released, to be unleashed within you. Alas, it's happening between my eyes and the others as well, you deserve this. No one can achieve these great deeds and achievements you have right now, no one will ever do these things as you do. I cannot ask Hiccup, my greatest friend and brother, I love you with all my heart. Please, as a brother earn this glory, you deserve this, I know you deserve these praises of us." He said as he bows his head the others except the Hooligan people and Stoick were stunned and amazed at Ulf's words and the other's approvals. The sudden guilt panged over their hearts as they saw Hiccup suddenly sobbing as he placed his hands on his face, they didn't prepare for what happened next.
They watch Hiccup remove his armor and kneeled, his head bowed as he reached his head to the ground, placing his hands in a flat position on top of his head (He did the Dogeza the Japanese bow).
When Ulf and the others peek their eyes and are shocked to see Hiccup bow in deep respect with awe and gratitude, they were stunned by what they have seen. They saw Hiccup as he raises his head, tears continue flowing down his cheeks. He got up, pick his armor, and went toward the woods. Leaving them dumbfounded and curious about what happened next.
Ulf and the others recovered themselves and they were going to follow him until Snotlout berated his cousin again which enraged them so much, Snotlout laughed and start insulting Hiccup.
"HAHAHAHAHA! Never in my life to see a once again useless face! Such a crybaby, WEAK! Glad I am strong and never cried once in a lifetime." HE puffed, and he felt many eyes were on him and he never expected that his life was on the line.
The Hooligans and the Chief saw Ulf and the others stand up, their eyes set on Snotlout like prey waiting to slaughter. Stoick was enraged to hear his idiotic nephew, Astrid however, trying her best to calm herself as her arms gripped so hard. Wanting to kill the useless and idiotic Snotlout, but not until they heard Ulf's words that they totally agreed on.
"WHAT DO YOU SAY? SAY IT AGAIN!" He shouted as his friends swiftly grabbed Snotlout's arms and dragged him out from the spectator's place Snotlout was now in the hands of Hiccup's friends.
Stoick was about to step in along with his brother Spitelout, they were blocked by Ulf's people in anger and stoic expressions.
"Don't FUCKING INTERVENE CHIEF HADDOCK, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO INSULT OUR CHIEF!" Ulf shouted and his people let out a war cry.
"HOOOO!". Earning the Hooligans walked backward as Stoick continue to watch yet, Spitelout retorted.
"WHAT THE HEL ARE YOU DOING BASTARD! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S MESSING WITH!" Ulf shot a glare to Spitelout as he was about to hit his son, he turns his attention to Snotlout and punched at his face, the black hair teen let out a scream as he continued beating up by Ulf and his friends, Spitelout throws insults as he continues watching his son getting ganged up by a group of strangers that happened to be Hiccup's people.
"WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING BEATING UP A CHILD! SUCH SLANDER, CHILDISH AND STUPID!" This halt them and Spitelout saw their eyes set on him, he was about to get help from his brother. It shocked him as he saw Stoick raise his hands and back away, he cursed under his breath as he saw himself surrounded by Ulf's friend they were caught off once again by Snotlout.
"W-what i-is so spe-special a-about t-that u-u-u-use-useless c-c-cous-sin o-o-of m-mine" he asked as he struggled to stand up Ulf and the two stared at the beaten teen, stand in front of him. When Snotlout look up and was terrified as he saw Ulf and the two men's eyes burning in anger and controlling themselves.
Ulf replied "That useless was Hiccup the Great, he isn't useless like you, spoiled like you, pampered like you, arrogant like you, hell he even most humbles person like you. He went Hel and back, he commands people like a father, an uncle, a leader who possesses great strength and a mighty Viking but no. He possesses more than that, compassion, understanding, humility, loyal, and most of all faithful to the ones who treasured him and accept for who they are, despite their bad past. That kind of trait has shown in Hiccup's attitude and his character, whether he is alive, or dead, he alone is worth more than a hundred worms like you, you should always be grateful to him, you little brat. Even you, you fucking bastard of an uncle." The others immediately encircle Spitlout as he was about to escape, one of Ulf's men punched Spitelout. One of them continues, and another, and another, until Spitelout's face can't recognize anymore.
Stoick and the rest soon realized that they threw the greatest chief that Midgard has ever seen, it was too late for them to make up for Hiccup. Time will tell, now they call it a day and they are ready for what kind of tomorrow they are going to face that will change everything.
