After the proposal, things became a whirlwind. Lasalle and Percy each called their mothers, both of them overcome with joy. Both Celia and Greta agreed to help with the planning. The couple had settled on wanting to get married in New Orleans as that was their home and where their love story began.

They invited everyone to the ceremony - friends, family, colleagues. Pride even offered up his bar for the ceremony/reception. Walter Wolfman and his band offered to play the reception for free as a gift to the newlyweds. Sonja had wanted a princess ballgown style dress with a corset. She wanted to wear her hair down as she knew it was Lasalle's favorite. She chose a blue garter that matched his eyes.

Christopher, as always, wanted a black tux with a blue vest. He settled on a vest that matched Sonja's garter. The tux was tailored to fit him like a second skin. He got to have some input on the flowers, white roses with blue carnations and baby's breath. But most importantly, his mother said they needed a theme. Christopher settled on something he liked even if it made no sense to anyone but Percy. He chose "Two Mice, One Cheese" and Sonja laughed when she heard it. Her laugh was the sweetest sound in the world to him.

They had wanted their entire NCIS family to be involved in the wedding. Percy had even managed to get Brody to agree to come. It meant the world to her that Brody would be in attendance. It was Brody who first called Lasalle a "work husband" for Sonja. Now he was going to be her actual husband.

Their first disagreement about the ceremony came when it was time to chose Lasalle's best man. Naturally he wanted Pride.

"King has been my mentor and friend for more than a decade. Of course he will say yes to me," Chris said, one evening while Sonja tended to Caden.

"You think you have a monopoly on Pride or something Country Mouse?"

"No but I would bet the farm, he would say yes to me."

"I think you're wrong."

"Fine, you ask him and we'll see who he picks," Chris said, taking their son from her and feeding him a bottle.

"Great. I'll do just that in the morning. You'll watch Caden?"

"Sure."

"I love you Country Mouse."

"I love you City Mouse."

The next morning, Sonja went to the office. She wanted to catch Pride before everyone else came in for the day. She got there early and found him in the kitchen, making coffee.

"Hey Pride."

"Morning Sonja. Coffee?"

"Sure, thanks." Sonja sat at the counter as he placed a cup in front of her.

"Something on your mind?" he asked.

"Well, Chris and I had a disagreement last night."

"Wedding issues?"

"Kind of."

"Well lay it on me. Maybe I can help."

"I hope so. Well what it boils down to is that Chris was going to ask you to be his best man."

"Well, I would be honored."

"There's more to it than that."

"Oh?"

"You know my dad took off when I was younger and I was never that close to my stepdad. Plus there's the fact he died several years ago. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I was hoping you would walk me down the aisle and give me away."

Pride just looked at the petite woman in front of him. He had watched her blossom from a lone wolf into a team player over the years. When he first met her as an ATF agent, alone and undercover, he never could have imagined that she would turn into one of the best agents he ever had.

"I would be greatly honored to give you away Sonja."

"You would?"

"Of course!"

"Thanks Pride. Chris was so sure you would say no because of the bond you guys have."

"Christopher is a very special part of my life. He's like the son I never had. But nothing brought me greater joy in life than the day I walked Laurel down the aisle. To have everyone watch as I passed my little girl off to become a married woman. It was as much my day as it was hers and I would be so proud to do the same with you."

"That means so much to me Pride. Its because of you that Lasalle and I even got a chance to get here today."

"Well, not technically. You were the one to go snooping in our files to see if we could take on another agent."

"But you could've said no. Instead, you brought me into the team and gave us a chance to become who we are."

"It was destiny. I could see it, that you both belonged together. I think we all could."

"Well Brody did call him my work husband. Did we tell you she's agreed to come to the ceremony?"

"Brody's coming? That's great!"

"Yeah. To think we might not have gotten here with what was in those emails."

"Emails?"

"The Ethan Beck case, when all those negative emails got sent to us. I saw one that Lasalle had sent you saying he didn't think I was a good fit for the team. I was so mad and so hurt by that."

"That night got everyone on edge."

"I think it was the email that Gregorio sent Isler that got to me more."

"What did that one say?"

"That she thought Lasalle and I were cartel imbeds and that we were sleeping together."

"Were you at that point?"

"No! I even said ew!"

"And now you're getting married and have a baby."

"Guess we kind of did things out of order."

"You did everything in the order that worked for you both. Not everyone follows the same playbook."

"I suppose so. At least I get to tell him that I won," Sonja said with a smile.

"So if I'm giving you away, who's gonna be the best man?"

"Shit."
