Plot

Picking up from the previous night's episode in the Batcave, Batman's attempts to contact Robin are met with futility; alerted by Alfred Pennyworth about Aunt Harriet's having a fit on noticing their beds weren't slept in, Batman tells him to put her at ease by saying they're spending the night at his uncle's house. Meanwhile, the Riddler's "operation" on Robin involved only the making of a plastic surgery cast from Robin's masked face, used to make a perfect "Robin" disguise for Molly. After enticing Batman with a couple of clues, Riddler and Molly (as Robin) lead Batman on a chase outside the abandoned turtle mill at Orleans Cove before their Rolls-Royce is damaged by the Batray. The Riddler makes his escape as Molly tricks Batman into taking her into the Batcave. However, on the way, Batman spots the defect in the mask caused by the straws they gave Robin through which to breathe and discreetly disables Molly's gun. An unmasked Molly, after making an unsuccessful attempt to shoot Batman, tries to escape; Batman chases her to the top of the atomic pile (used to power the Batmobile), where she lets go of Batman's hand and falls to her death.

Batman rescues the true Robin and tells him that Molly is dead, but the Riddler manages to escape to the Moldavian Pavilion, where a gathering will honor the famous Mammoth of Moldavia, which is stuffed with used, yet priceless Moldavian postage stamps. The Riddler plans to steal the mammoth, and so he drenches the pavilion with nitrous oxide, dresses in a green and pink tuxedo costume and elephant mask which conceals his gas mask, and entertains the guests with a few jokes until everyone has fallen unconscious from laughter. The Riddler and the Mole Hill mob blast a hole through the floor and make ready to steal the priceless pachyderm when Batman and Robin leap out from inside the elephant and subdue the mob, whilst The Riddler runs for the man hole and leaps into it. Batman leaps after him, and Riddler shoots at him, misses, and hits a tank of noxious oxide causing it to explode, but not before Batman takes cover. The Riddler's body isn't recovered, so it's assumable he will live to plague Gotham City another day, but not if Batman and Robin can help it.

Cast

Adam West as Bruce Wayne / Batman: An multibillionaire who moonlights as a crime-fighting vigilante.

Burt Ward as Dick Grayson / Robin: Bruce's ward, protége, and sidekick who often uses his intelligence to solve the problem of the episode.

Neil Hamilton as Commissioner Gordon: The commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department and Batman's most trusted ally on the police force.

Alan Napier as Alfred Pennyworth: Bruce's loyal butler who has raised him since his parents' deaths.

Frank Gorshin as Edward Nigma / Riddler: An supervillain who uses hints shaped in the form of riddles to give hints about his next crime.

"So, are we still doing me?" 1960s-Bruce asked.

"Yes." Alex confirmed.

The episode starts with a Batman title card with a purple background. Below, some white text is visible, reading "In Color".

Narrator: In the previous Bat adventure… we saw a prime minister's exploding cake… with a puzzling message from that rascal the Riddler. The Dynamic Duo… pinned the Riddler's ears back, but he tricked them… with a million-dollar lawsuit against Batman. Glee for the Riddler. Gloom for Batman. But then a fresh clue… which led Batman into a batusi trap… which laid him low. And then Robin got it in the arm. The Riddler had it made. Gotham City was aghast. Robin seemed utterly doomed, but, wait, the worst… is yet to come…

The animated intro from last episode occurs.

"Why do we need to know all of this? We literally saw it!" Schaumerverse-Dick said.

"It's a recap." Peter-199999 explained.

A gold text appears in the middle of the screen reading "Smack in the Middle", followed by "Special Guest: Jill St. John as Molly", "Special Guest Villain: Frank Gorshin as The Riddler", "Written by: Lorenzo Semper, Jr.", and "Directed by: Robert Butler".

Narrator: Comes the dawn… a bright shining dawn over stately Wayne Manor. But in the depths of the secret Batcave, no birds sing.

Batman: Robin, repeat, your homing transmitter. Turn it on, boy.

The telephone rings.

Batman: Yes.

The scene transitions to upstairs in stately Wayne Manor.

Alfred Pennyworth: It's Mrs. Cooper sir. She's noticed your bed weren't slept in. She's having a fit.

The scene transitions back to the Batcave.

Batman: Tell her that Dick and I are spending the night at my uncle's house.

"You're lying again." Schaumerverse-Dick noted.

Batman: That should put her at ease.

The scene transitions back to Wayne Manor.

Alfred: Very good, sir.

In the Batcave, Batman hangs up the telephone. Meanwhile, at the Riddler's lair, he prepares to torture Robin.

Riddler: I must say, this youth's face makes an excellent impression.

Molly, Riddler's partner, chuckles.

Molly: You sure are a card, Riddler.

Everybody from the 1980s or later looked confused.

"A card is a person regarded as odd or amusing." 1960s-Dick explained.

Everybody nodded.

Riddler laughs.

Riddler: Yes, my pretty.

"That was a Wizard of Oz reference." Peter-199999 said.

Riddler: In this little game, I am the ace of trump. Make a positive from instant compound X… then get into your outfit while I bait the Bat-Trap.

Molly leaves, as Riddler unstraps the restrained Robin, before he sprays something on Robin.

Robin: Where am I? Where is…? Robin wakes up. Riddler?

Riddler: Mm-hm.

Robin gets off the operating table.

Robin: You fiend. What's the meaning of this? Where's Batman?

Riddler: Hanging.

"That was a lie." 1960s-Dick pointed out.

Robin: What?

Riddler: Hanging by his phone, I hope.

Riddler gives Robin a phone dial.

Riddler: Call him. Get him through police headquarters on that famous hotline. I wish to pose him another amusing problem.

Robin: You flipped your lid. Do you think I'm going to help you in some rotten criminal scheme?

"What's he planning?" Schmauerverse-Dick asked.

"You'll see." 1960s-Dick said.

The Riddler starts laughing hysterically.

Riddler: You're scared. You're really scared that I'll outwit your Batman yet again, all right.

Riddler laughs hysterically again.

Robin: It'll be a cold day in August when we're scared of you, Riddler.

"It's August?" Peter-199999 asked.

"Yeah."

Robin: Give me that telephone.

Robin calls Commissioner Gordon. On the other line, Gordon answers.

Robin: Commissioner, this is Robin.

Gordon: Robin, where are you? We tried to signal. Are you all right?

Robin (we see him on the other side of the line): Can you plug me into the hotline?

Gordon: Yes, of course. Hold on. Gordon uses the phone and records a message. Operator, plug 03 into the Batline and trace it, record it.

At the Batcave, the Batphone beeps and Batman answers it.

Batman: Yes.

Robin (via phone): Batman, it's Robin.

Batman: Robin, old chum, where are you?

At the Riddler's hideout, he starts laughing and answers the phone.

Riddler: Ho, ho. Ha, ha. Remember me, old chum?

The scene transitions back to the Batcave.

Batman: You jolly devil.

"He's the Devil?" Deadpool asked. "I've met worst than him."

Batman: Harm one hair on that boy's head-

The scene transitions back to the Riddler's lair.

Riddler: Riddle me twice, Batman. What kind of pins are used in soup?

"Terrapins." Schaumer-Dick answered.

Robin: Terrapins, Batman.

The scene transitions back to the Batcave.

Batman: Right.

The scene transitions back to the Riddler's lair.

Riddler: Very good.

"Duh." Schaumerverse-Dick said.

Riddler: What was Joan of Arc made of?

"She's a maid, right? Of New Orleans?" Schaumerverse-Dick answered.

Robin: Joan of Arc was…

Batman: Maid of Orleans.

Riddler: That's where you'll find him. Happy hunting.

Robin: Don't fall for it, Batman it sounds too easy. I'll get out of this the same way I got in.

Riddler knocks out Robinwith sleeping gas.

Batman: Robin. Robin. Robin!

Riddler hangs up the phone.

"Is this a normal occurrence?" Schaumerverse-Dick asked.

"Yes." 1960s-Dick said.

Schaumerverse-Dick nodded.

Batman puts the Batphone down.

Batman: Terrapins, Orleans. Of course, the old Turtle Mill at Orleans Cove.

"There's reason why they called you 'the world's greatest detective', huh?" DCEU-Clark asked.

1960s-Bruce nodded.

Batman runs to the Batmobile and drives out of the mobile. Meanwhile, at the Riddler's sewer lair, we see Molly walk in, wearing Robin's costume.

Molly: Riddler, you fiend.

Riddler: Fantastic, pretty lady.

She puts on an head of Robin, which looks exactly like the original, as Riddler smiles.

Riddler: Uncanny.

Riddler laughs. He takes off Robin's belt off.

Riddler: Put on the belt. On to the Bat-hunt.

"Well, this is creepy." Schaumerverse-Dick said.

"Even more creepy than you singing in the shower that one time?" Schaumerverse-Barbara questioned.

"That was one time!" Schaumerverse-Dick defended himself.

"Robin" leaves, as Riddler laughs hysterically, before joining her. Meanwhile, Batman is driving in the Batmobile, passing a sign that reads "Orleans Cove: 6 miles", where "Robin" and Riddler are watching Batman through binoculars.

Riddler: Turn on the homing transmitter.

"Robin" pushes a button on "his" belt.

"Robin": Done.

As the Batmobile drives, "Robin" and Riddler drift to the left, avoiding being seen by the Batmobile.

"They're clever." Schaumerverse-Dick said.

"Like Ivy?" Schaumerverse-Barbara asked. [1]

"You won't let me live that down, will you?" Schaumerverse-Dick asked.

"No, I won't." Barbara smiled.

They took off in a car, following Batman, as his "Detect-a-Scope" went off, causing Batman to smile as "Robin" was close.

Batman: Hold on, old pal. I'm coming to get you.

Batman and Riddler pass each other, as Batman sees "Robin". Batman pulls an "Emergency Bat-Turn Lever", as parachutes shoot out of the Batmobile's engine. As he is driving, he pushes a "Parachute Jettison Button", before turning right. The scene transitions to Riddler's car, as we see "Robin" looking behind "him" to see Batman behind them.

"Robin": I don't believe it. It didn't happen.

"They tried to trick you?" Schaumerverse-Bruce asked.

"Yeah." 1960s-Robin said.

Riddler: Shut up. Tighten seatbelt, on crash helmet. He'll give us the Bat-Ray any moment now.

"Do you guys have to call everything 'bat'?" Forrestfire101/Forrestfire1001/AubreyStudios82 Robin asked. [2]

"Shut up, Robin and watch the TV show." Forrestfire101/Forrestfire1001/AubreyStudios82 Bruce said.

"Ok." Robin said dejectedly, as everyone glared at Forrestfire101 Bruce.

Batman keeps driving, as "Robin" and Riddler wear "crash" helmets to prevent the "Bat-Ray". Riddler drives down the road as "Batman 1960s Intro" begins playing, with Batman pressing a button reading "Bat-Ray Projector", which fails and instead conks the ignition.

Riddler: Perfect. The Bat-Ray's conked our ignition. Hold tight, here we go.

Riddler scoots on the brakes, causing the car to crash, as Riddler and "Robin" escape, unharmed, while the car burns, as Riddler sees Batman, forcing "Robin" to crouch below Riddler, "scared" to remain cover, and Riddler laughs hysterically, before escaping, as Batman and the Batmobile stop at a halt, and Batman approaches "Robin".

Batman: Robin. Robin.

"Robin" appears mute.

Batman: What's he done to you?

"Robin" gestures at his arm and his neck.

Batman: I get it. The swine's dope has affected your vocal cords.

"What's dope?" some of the 1980s and younger kids asked. [3]

"It's marjiuana." Tony said.

"Oh."

"Robin" nods.

Batman: Take it easy, old fellow. Don't try to talk. We'll have you fixed up in no time at all.

Batman lifts up "Robin" and puts him in the Batmobile, before getting in the Batmobile and driving away. The scene transitions to Batman driving along the road, turning right to enter the Batcave, before parking the car.

Batman: Don't move, I'll get the universal drug antidote.

"You have that?" Forrestfire-Robin asked.

1960s-Bruce nodded.

"Robin": Reach, Batman. "Robin" breaks "his" cover, revealing "himself" to be Molly, who holds Batman at gunpoint.

Batman: Well, Molly, I was wondering when you'd get around to that?

"You knew?" 1960s-Dick asked.

"I'm Batman. World's greatest detective." 1960s-Bruce pointed out.

Molly: What? You mean, you saw through my disguise?

Batman: A criminal always makes one mistake, Molly. Those straws you gave Robin to breathe through. I spotted the defect in the mask instantly.

Molly takes her mask off.

Batman: That was the one hole in your plan.

Everybody clapped.

Molly: But there are gonna be some holes in you, Batman.

She clicks the gun, which doesn't shoot out bullets.

Batman: Foolish girl. You were so bent on your murderous scheme, you failed to notice… in the Batmobile, I burned off your revolver's firing pin… with a hidden Bat-Laser beam.

"Wow, you saw that coming." 1960s-Dick said.

"Of course I did." 1960s-Bruce said.

Molly drops her gun and runs and climbs on top of a pole.

Batman: Molly. Molly, stop. You're climbing into the Batmobile's nuclear power source.

"You own nuclear energy?" Forrestfire-Robin asked.

"In the 1960s, gas was replaced with nuclear substance as it was considered cheaper than refined oil." 1960s-Bruce explained. [4]

"Oh." Forrestfire-Robin nodded.

Molly nearly trips into a nearby hole, which is the Batmobile's nuclear energy.

Molly: Help! Help!

Batman: Stay where you are, Molly. Don't move a muscle. I'll come and get you.

He takes an item out of his utility belt, an Batarang, as he goes to rescue Molly who freaks out.

Batman: Wait, Molly. Molly, don't panic.

Molly panics.

Batman: Reach, Molly.

Molly tries to, but can't.

Molly: I can't. I'm too scared.

Molly starts to slip.

Molly: I'm slipping. Oh, Batman!

She falls into the reactor, which kills her, which emits smoke.

Batman: Poor deluded girl. If only she'd have let me save her.

"It was her mistake. Don't blame yourself for it, Bruce." Schaumerverse-Dick advised 1960s-Bruce.

1960s-Bruce nodded.

Batman: What a terrible way to go-go.

The scene transitions to the "Gotham City Police Headquarters", where inside, Batman, along with Chief O'Hara and Gordon, is listening to a recording of the call from earlier.

Robin (in recording): Don't fall for it, Batman. It sounds too easy. I'll get out of this myself the same way I got in.

The recording ends.

Gordon: Hopeless. Broke off before we could make the trace.

"At least you found." 1960s-Dick said.

"Indeed I did, old chum." 1960s-Bruce said.

O'Hara: It's not even a good recording. All those devilish rumbling noises.

Batman: You're wrong, chief, those noises are our salvation.

Gordon: What? Those noises?

Batman: Subway trains, commissioner.

"So you were in the sewer? Gross." Forrestfire-Robin exclaimed.

"Indeed it was." 1960s-Dick said.

Batman: Quick, get me a timing on this tape and a complete set of subway schedules. The Batmobile will do the rest.

Gordon: Right.

Batman, O'Hara, and Gordon get to work, while Batman uses the schedule on a "Mobile Crime Computer" to find Robin.

O'Hara: Mother of mercy. What's it doing now?

Batman: Checking with the main computer in the Batcave. Automatic radio link.

In the Batcave, the result is pinged in the "U.S. and Canada Crime Computer", before transitioning back to Batman, O'Hara, and Gordon by the Batcave.

Batman: The answer should be back any second now.

The answer pings, and Batman takes the address.

Batman (reading the address): "10th Street Line, Coolidge Square Station." Commissioner, phone ahead, have them clear the platforms.

Gordon: Right.

The scene transitions, where Batman is already at Coolidge Square.

Police Officer: Hi, Batman.

Batman: Hi.

Batman heads to a nearby wall, detecting a part of the wall with the "Bat-Gauge", where Riddler has Robin kept. Batman takes a zap gun and shoots a piece of the wall he was detecting with, causing a little spark.

Riddler: Molly should have been back by now with Batman's scalp.

1960s-Riddler looked down, ashamed and upset that she was dead and he never knew.

Riddler: I wonder what went awry.

Robin: You went awry Riddler, years ago. Don't you know that crime never pays?

Lego Mr. Fantastic grinned, remembering his conversation with Lego Doctor Octopus back in 2013.

Riddler: Ho-ho-ho. Ho-ho-ho! Hey, hey, hey!

The piece of wall explodes, emitting smoke.

Robin: Holy smoke!

Everybody laughed.

Batman: Surrender, you rat.

Riddler tries to escape, only for Batman to catch him with a Batarang. Riddler touches a button, which reveals a sheet of bulletproof glass.

Batman: What's that?

Robin: Holy showcase. A sheet of bulletproof glass.

Batman tries to catch Riddler, but fails due to the bulletproof glass. Batman pounds on the glass, as Riddler laughs hysterically. Batman kicks a box, which reveals a cinderblock that Batman throws at the bulletproof glass, which doesn't break. Riddler leaves his question mark logo, as he and his henchmen laugh hysterically and leave. The scene cuts to black. In the next scene, Batman releases the bound Robin.

Robin: Batman, listen. Don't look so blue. Their final caper's set for tonight. And I know what it is.

Batman: What, you know?

"It's a miracle you did that without getting caught." Forrestfire-Nightwing said.

1960s-Dick nodded.

Looking at his outfit, 1960s-Dick asked, "Who are you supposed to be?"

"Nightwing. I'm you in the future."

Comics-Nightwing nodded.

Robin: I played possum. I heard the Riddler making up some tricky clues. Listen, how many sides has a circle?

"Two." Schaumerverse-Dick answered.

Robin: Answer, two. Inside and outside, right?

Batman: Right.

Robin: Here's the second one. What president of the United States wore the biggest hat?

"The one with the biggest head." Schaumerverse-Dick answer.

Batman ponders the question.

Robin: It's easy, Batman. The one with the biggest head.

Batman: Of course.

Robin: Don't you see what they mean? "Biggest head", that's gotta be the famous skyscraper head office… of the Gotham City National Bank. The Riddler's gonna go inside and cart the loot outside.

Batman: Well, well, we've come a long way from the prime minister's exploding cake. Or have we? Nice listening, Robin.

Robin: Oh, gee, it was nothing, Batman. Well, what are waiting for?

"This is not how we defeated our Riddler. But you'll have to wait and see." Val Kilmer-Bruce said.

Robin: Let's call Commissioner Gordon and wrap this up.

Batman and Robin leave. The scene transitions, showing two police cars driving towards the Gotham City National Bank.

Narrator: And, now, even as the fearless minions of the law… converge on the head office of the Gotham City National Bank…

We see the Riddler's gang breaking into somewhere.

Narrator: …miles away, the Riddler and his gang… are about to come up under the Moldavian Pavilion… at the Gotham City's World Fair. Holy red snapper, has Batman goofed?

"Oh, I stand corrected, you didn't figure it out." Forrestfire-Robin said.

At the Moldavian Pavilion, music starts playing, where a party starts.

Party Guest: But it's utterly fabulous, Your Excellency. It's simply too much.

Moldavian Prime Minister: It's famous Mammoth of Moldavia, dear lady. Found in ice many centuries ago. Worshipped by the peoples of my country. Notice priceless jewels in eyes and elsewhere. This is stuffed exclusively with used postage stamps… from ancient kingdom of Moldavia. Very cheap stuffing then… but now worth unspeakable fortune… to stamp collectors.

"That's impressive." 1960s-Bruce noted.

1960s-Dick nodded.

The party guest part on her glasses, as the Riddler's gang put "Nitrous oxide: Laughing gas" in the air vents, as Riddler arrived.

Riddler's Gang Member #1: All hooked up, chief.

Riddler and his gang put on gas masks.

Riddler: The air vent to the pavilion. Ha-ha-ha!

Riddler unplugs the nitrous gas.

Riddler (referring to the fans): Turn them on.

The gang turn on the fans, releasing the gas to the party guests. Riddler and his gang then starting escaping via a vent pipe.

Riddler: Wait for my signal.

Riddler starts laughing hysterically, escaping via the air vent.

Riddler: Good evening, my friends, one and all.

"Well, that wasn't very friendly." 1960s-Dick said.

"Indeed." 1960s-Bruce said.

Riddler: Ha, ha! Hello, hello, hello.

He eyes the mammoth. The Molvaldian Prime Minister speaks something foreign.

Prime Minister: What is that?

Party Guest: It appears to be a vulgar, low comedian.

Riddler: Has anybody seen my friend Kersh?

Prime Minister: "Kersh" who?

Riddler: Gesundheit.

The guests laugh.

Party Guest: Oh, I say, "Kersh who? Gesundheit." Oh, that's delightful.

She starts laughing, as does everybody else.

Riddler: Did you hear about Greta Garbo? She dreamed one night she sprinkled six boxes of grass seed in her hair… and woke up, moaning, "I want to be a lawn".

The guests start laughing.

"The laughing gas." Nightwing pointed out.

Party Guest: I can't bear it, darling.

She starts laughing again.

Prime Minister: I defy you to stop this one.

Everybody starts laughing, causing them to pass out.

Riddler: Easy, my friend.

"Nobody's your friend, Riddler." 1960s-Bruce said.

Riddler laughs hysterically and shoots a flare in the air.

Riddler's Gang Member #2: That's the signal!

They blow up the ground with dynamite, as Riddler laughs hysterically. The gang members use a ladder to escape the hole.

Riddler's Gang Member #3: Quickly boys, quick. Move quickly, quick.

Riddler's Gang Member #4: That's it, move those cops out of the way.

Riddler: Get your cables set. Bring your hoist and bring that mammoth to the hole.

"Why couldn't you do stand-up comedy, Riddler, instead of being a murderer and felon? You'd be good at it. You and Joker." 1960s-Bruce said. [5]

Riddler: Faster, faster, faster. We can't wait all night.

Batman and Robin break through the glass, wearing "Bat-Masks".

Batman: This joke's on you, Riddler.

Robin: When's a donkey spelled with one letter?

"When it's 'u'." Schaumerverse-Dick answered.

Robin: When it's "u".

Riddler: A Trojan mammoth? Oh!

Batman: Thought we were at the bank, huh?

Robin: We sent them there as a ruse. I had your clues wrong, but Batman solved them.

Batman: The biggest head, the fabulous Mammoth of Moldavia… with jewels on the outside and priceless postage stamps inside.

Riddler: Get them, boys. Get them, or it's curtains.

"Not a chance." 1960s-Bruce said.

Batman and Robin fought off the gang, with a sound effect reading "Crunch!" and another reading "Zlonk", "Klonk!", "Boom!", "Kapow". One of them grabs Robin's cape and punches him. The graphic reads "Ouch!". One of the gang members hits Batman with a vase. The graphic reads "Whamm!". The gang members hold Batman down, as Riddler hits him and Robin helps him outfight the gang. Two graphics are seen reading, "Zap!" and "Kapow!", respectively. Another one reads "Urkkkku!" and another one reads "Zok!". Robin hits one of the guys and the graphic reads "Biff!". Batman chases after Riddler as Robin knocks down with another graphic reading "Zzzzzwap!".

Robin: The Riddler, watch it. He's running for the rat hole.

Batman chases after Riddler.

Riddler: Back, Batman, back.

Riddler shoots a gun, which hits the nitrous gas.

Batman: If this gas ignites, it'll blow you to kingdom come, you venal viper.

Batman runs up a ladder, with Robin grabbing a hold of Batman, as the gas explodes. The scene transitions to Wayne Manor, where we see Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth, and Dick Grayson engaged in a conversation.

Alfred: Case dismissed, sir?

Dick: You mean the Riddler's lawsuit against Batman?

Alfred: Precisely, Master Dick. According to the report on the wireless, the plantiff, heh, failed to appear.

Bruce: I wonder.

Dick: Got him, Bryce. The blast of that laughing gas, it must've got him.

"Don't be so sure." Comics-Bruce said.

"Why not?" 1960s-Dick asked.

"Joker has 'died' like 30 times. And everytime he comes back again." Comics-Bruce said. [6]

Bruce: Who knows, Dick? The police never found a body. The prince of puzzlers may well have escaped underground… to baffle us another.

Dick: That means we failed.

Bruce: No, Dick, no. Don't say that. The Molehill Mob in jail, the Mammoth of Moldavia saved. If it hadn't been for us, the theft of that behemoth could've led to an ugly international incident.

Dick: When you put it that way, Bruce, yes, I see you're right.

Bruce: I have only one regret in the whole affair. One thing that makes me heartsick.

We see Bruce is thinking about Molly.

"Ew!" all the Talias exclaimed.

Dick: Molly? You kind of liked her, didn't you?

Bruce: If only I could've helped her somehow.

"Don't feel bad about it, there was nothing you could do, Bruce." Comics-Nightwing said.

Bruce: Weaned her from that tragic alliance with the underworld which led to…

Dick's Aunt Harriet Cooper comes in, carrying a tea tray.

Harriet: Dear me, Bruce… I hope you're not speaking of any youn lady we know. I mean, the thought of Dick being exposed to any criminal element is…

Bruce: Rest at ease, Aunt Harriet… The young lady won't trouble us. She's merely someone I passed like a ship in the night… now vanished like a puff of smoke.

Aunt Harriet leaves.

Bruce: Dick, like some help with that algebra?

Dick smiles.

Dick: Sure would, Bruce.

Credits roll. End of episode.

Well, that's the chapter.

Comment below any nicknames for the different characters instead of their reality designation or universe name.

[1] A reference to the events of Batman and Robin (1997). I like to think Barbara teases Dick about it, because of their status as a couple.

[2] I noticed, every single weapon is called a 'bat' (Bat-Tumbler, Batmobile, Batarang, Batwing, etc…, even Robin's weapons) so I added this reference because I think Robin would question this.

[3] In the 1960s, dope was an synonym for marjiuana.

[4] In the 1960s and 1970s, cars were fueled with nuclear energy instead of refined oil because it was "cheaper, cleaner, and easier to use", but after Chernobyl and 3 Mile Island, cars' main fueling system was changed back to refined oil.

[5] A reference to Joker (2019), where his alternate counterpart was an failed stand-up comedian. This was one of his multiple transformations into the Joker we all know and love. I think the Riddler would be a good stand-up comedian, too.

[6] A reference to Batman #1, Death in the Family, etc… Joker does tend to "die" a lot, doesn't he?
