Ray's heart was racing, head spinning around to look for Bulk and Skull, standing by the exits and hurrying people out. People were screaming, running in all directions, and stampeding in panic toward the door as the Byte-Bots slowly encircled the shattered window.

The foot soldiers would be on them any second, which meant any second, all hell was about to break loose. And once they got inside, the civilians would be ripe for the picking. The others had to be on their way, but he had no idea how long it would take. They needed to keep them busy.

He looked to Johnny, sharing knowing a look before they rose to stand before the gaping wall, nodding a look back at Blake and Kira.

"You guys better get out of here," he warned.

"What about you guys?" Blake demanded as eyes flicked to Kira.

"We'll distract them," stated Johnny, "We'll be right behind you."

But already that plan was looking moot. Even in the time they'd spent debating the Byte-Bots had reached the café, flooding through entrances just as Bulk and Skull got the last of the civilians out.

Now, they were surrounded. And Blake and Kira were still with them. They just had to hope they could keep them safe until the cavalry arrived.

But to Ray's surprise, neither Kira nor Blake seemed alarmed, the former shrugging as he shifted into a strikingly strong fighting stance. "It looks like we're fighting our way out then."

No time left to worry.

"Yeah," Reay related. "Looks like."

And then the Byte-Bots descended.

They surged inside, bursting through the openings to force themselves between the group and isolate the four. Avoiding a blow, Ray dived and rolled, spinning up into a kick that cracked into the jaw of the nearest Bot. It staggered back, but others were already filling the spot. Time for the high ground.

He jumped onto the counter, kicking two Byte-Bots in the face as the rest scrambled to reach him. One climbed up; sword held high for the strike. With nowhere to run, Ray thought fast, kicking up a serving tray to flip into his hands. The plastic tray collided with the blow, battering the Byte-Bot back as Ray spun it around and smacked it across the face plate.

"Sorry," he warned. "You're going to need to a reservation."

Armed with his makeshift shield, his feet danced on the counter, parrying another blow dropping down and sweeping his leg to trip the ankles. As he rose, he caught one leaping upwards in the corner of his vision.

All too easy.

He tossed the tray, spinning it through the air to knock back the flying Byte-Bot. As the attack clotheslined the robots from the sky, Ray launched himself from the bar, flipping over the assaulting robots as red beams flashed from his eyes. The blasts pierced the chests, crashing the bots backward as he landed and skidded over a table. Then, with a gap finally forced between the numbers, he rushed deeper into the cafe in a desperate hope to help the others.

Johnny didn't need it. When the Byte-Blots split them, he'd made for the table, skidding over the surface to put some distance between him and his pursuers. With a second to spare, he planted his hand on the chair, levering himself upward into a full spinning kick. His heel struck the Byte-Bots, slamming it to the ground as Johnny kept up the momentum and reefed up the seat.

Now armed, the chair swung around, cracking under a Byte-Bots leg's and toppling it to the ground. "Here for an order?" he asked. "Let me find a table!"

He flipped the chair around, legs facing outwards as he jabbed it forward. It caught the Byte-Bot square in the chest, trapping it between the wooden prongs. Johnny pushed put and down, smashing the robot into the table. With nowhere to move, the foot-soldier collided into the edge, the entire surface flipping and smacking the back of the as Johnny pulled it downwards.

But already there was one coming from behind him. Johnny spun, letting the Byte-Bot glide past as he flipped the chair around to plant it the right way around. With the Byte-Bot still flailing, he kicked outward, sending the seat crashing into the Byte-Bots behind and soaring into another table.

But he barely had a chance to breathe when suddenly one lunged behind him. It came from nowhere, lunging from the swirling chaos to grab him by the neck and force him into the wall. As Johnny struggled, the robot slammed him into the wall and hoisted him up against the plaster.

It wasn't there long.

A wave of force crashed outward, the Byte-Bot slammed aside like a deer on a train crossing. Johnny dropped, clutching his neck to see Jake standing at the entrance, hand outstretched.

"Doc says there are Byte-Bots nearby," he relayed.

"You think?"

Seeing the gap in the Byte-Bots, Ray rushed to his friends in hopes of making a plan.

"We're like fish in a barrel here!" he told them. "We need to get Blake and Kira out of here before…"

But he couldn't even finish his sentence. As the words came out, his eyes drifted to the two civilians. They weren't just fine; they were kicking but!

Kira cart-wheeled right into the middle of a group, arms windmilling over her head to bat the blows and form a perfect block. In a fluid motion, she spun the bot around, flipping it into its back as she rolled onto the table. Her leg kicked out, cracking into a Byte-Bot before spinning into a dodge that let another slam into the surface.

Two more were coming from the sides, but Kira was already moving. She dropped, legs extending into splits as she swung out her hands to crack them in the stomach. As her ankles collided with their legs, she twisted upright, dropping the two cronies to the floor as she snapped to her feet and eagerly lunged right at the next.

Beside her, Blake was doing just as well, every move and strike the hallmark of a trained martial artist. Block, strike, spin, kick. Return to form. Repeat.

Two Byte-Bots tried a twin strike, a pair of punches surging in for his face. Blake just caught them effortlessly, yanking them inwards and crossing their arms to slam their faces together. As the two staggered from the smacking, another came from the flank. Way too slow. With the hands as a fulcrum, Blake twisted between the three, throwing his two captured robots into their ally. Then he flipped backward, handspringing back into his stance.

"Your table, sir," he offered, kicking out into the circular stall to send it flying into a robot. The surging table took out the Byte-Bot at the knees, slamming the chest forward as its buddies rushed to get around it.

But for all their efforts, there were just too many.

For every Byte-Bots they took down, more were rushing in to take their place. Any chance of getting to the doors, or even the gaping hole in the wall, was impossible.

"We can't keep doing this," Jake, snapping back-to-back with Ray. "There are too many of them."

Ray knew he was right and there was only one play they could make to even the odds. But Blake and Kira were complications; with two civilians in the room, it made it too risky, even if one was family.

But if they kept this up any longer, it wouldn't matter who did and didn't know their secret.

"We need to finish this fast," Ray agreed, snapping up his Morpher in a signal to the others.

Seeing the device, Johnny paused, sending a panicked look between Ray and his sister. But then, ducking beneath another blow and kicking the Byte-Bot backward, he nodded.

They were out of time, and out of options.

"Kira," he warned. "We're going to create an opening, and no matter what happens we need you guys to take it!"

"Johnny, what are you talking about?" Kira demanded.

"Just… trust me, okay?"

Then he whipped up his own Black Morpher, standing in line with Ray and Jake.

"Ready?" called the Red Ranger.

"Ready!"

"Data Squad! Digitize!"

The room was filled with light, Ranger suits snapping to their limbs as the weapons formed in their hands. The visors slid in place, and all three lunged into the thick of it. Back-to-back, the three moved like blades of a blender, carving through the byte-Bot ranks as they slowly made for the opening caused by the crash.

"Kira!" Johnny yelled, "Now!"

But they never got the chance. Seeing the Ranger's momentary distraction, the Byte-Bots piled on. They rushed the three morphed warriors, grabbing at all sides and closing the gap before Kira and Blake could take it. The weight of the robots was immense, grabbing all the limbs so none of the boys could fight back. Straining from beneath the pile, Ray shot a glance out to Kira and Blake, hoping that at least they'd been able to get away.

But they were still there, and neither looked at all horrified at what they watching.

Instead, Kira stepped forward, fists scrunched tight as she threw her head forward and unleashed an ear-piercing scream. The sound rippled through the air, space folding around waves accented by yellow energy as they crashed into the robots and blasted them off the Rangers.

Taking their hands from their ears, the three Rangers stared in disbelief.

"Kira?" Johnny stammered. "What… what was that?"

"You always said I had a powerful voice," Kira admitted. Then she moved, side-stepping an ambushing Byte-Bot to grab its shoulder and judo-flip it onto the table.

Grinning, Blake stepped back up beside her. "I think it's time we lent a hand,"

"I think you're right," Kira agreed. They raised their wrists, and the boys' eyes bulged as their sleeved pulled up to reveal a pair of strange devices.

Morphers.

Blake's was the shape of a navy stag beetle, while the bracelet on Kira's wrist flared before revealing her own, a yellow plate shaped like a pterodactyl's head cast over the body.

"Ready?" Kira asked him.

"Ready!"

"No way," Johnny gasped.

The two moved, almost in unison; Blake raised his hand with two fingers pointing to the sky before snapping them down on the activator above the beetle wings. Beside him, Kira wound up, swinging her arms to slam her hand on the button as she bellowed her morphing cry.

"Thunder Storm! Ranger Form!"

"Dino Thunder! Power Up!"

Light burst from their wrists, encasing the pair in yellow and blue. As the light faded, the duo had changed; Blake in a deep blue Ranger suit, engravings of the same stag beetle on his helmet, shoulders protected by black pads that topped his silver sleeves. Kira's was more simple; yellow from top to bottom and lined with white diamonds. At the center of her chest was a golden emblem, a claw print cast into a shining circle.

"Ninja Storm!" Blake called. "Navy Thunder!"

"Dino Thunder!" Kira added. "Ptera Power!"

They spun around, striking the next wave of Byte-bots before flipping back to join the other three Rangers.

"Surprise," Kira laughed as her brother continued to stare.

"Okay," Johnny decided, "You have some explaining to do when this is over."

"Right back at you!"

"Guys," Blake warned, "can we finish this family reunion later?"

Ray couldn't help but agree. Even with their surge in power, they were still pinned down. They needed to get out of the Shak, fast. If they could even hold that long.

"He's right," Ray agreed. "Form a line and look for a break. If we hold strong together, then we'll all get out of there."

"No one gets inside the circle," Kira nodded. "Got it."

The Rangers moved together as the next wave hit, feet gliding along the floor like a perfectly oiled machine and striking through the gaps as their teammates moved. Blake snapped out the Thunder Staff, twirling it overhead as he and Johnny used their reach to strike hard and early. Numbers culled, it was time for the sword and axe, Ray and Jake surging hard to ensure that dropping Byte-Bots stayed down. Then, petra-grips twirling, Kira ducked and weaved between the four, weapons sparking off the stragglers to leave a pile of parts at their feet.

Finally, it felt like they were getting ahead.

"Get ready to blast them!" Blake warned, staff snapping around to form a hexagonal disk.

No sooner had he said it, and the Byte-Bots by the hole opened fire, clearly tired of engaging close. The disk hummed to life, filling with light blue energy as the lasers collided. The rounds ricocheted, bounding in all directions as some rebounded into their origins.

"Now!"

Byte-Bots flailing from the returned assault, the other four Rangers spun around with pistols raised. Modem and Thundermax blasters hounded, air filling with laser fire as the shot exploded on target, booming into a giant blast that shattered the Byte-Bots in all directions. Smoking limbs clattered to the ground as the makeshift team lunged for the gap.

The remaining bots grasped at them, desperate to keep them contained, but they weren't enough, and free at last, the five Rangers burst from the wreckage of the Shak and out onto the open street.

But Ray knew in an instant that they were far from done. If they'd been so determined to keep them inside, he didn't need to guess what was waiting for them out.

"Out of the frying pan…" he muttered as his feet skidded into a landing to see what awaited them. Every Byte-Bot that had been waiting to rush inside now stood around them. They'd gone from fighting batches to all of them at once. "Hold tight guys. We're not out of this yet."

But the Byte-Bots didn't engage. Instead, they stood there, unnervingly staring at the Rangers in awaiting. Never a good sign. As Ray and the others braced themselves, the Byte-Bots to their right began to part; and it wasn't to let them go.

In the opening stood a warrior, clad in jet-black armor. His helmet was curved, like a twisted tear-drop with light-blue hew, and in his hands was a large shield and a long blue blade.

"Zeltrax," Kira growled beneath her helmet.

"Crazy ex-boyfriend?" asked Johnny casually.

"He wishes."

The robot stepped forward, his blade extending as he pointed it directly at the Dino Thunder Ranger.

"It's good to see you, Yellow Ranger," Zeltrax snarled, his voice deep and metallic. "I have much to repay you from our last encounter. You will be the first to fall on the path to my master's reign."

"Look we save the reunions for later?" Ray taunted, "Some of us have places to be."

"The only place you're going," said the cyborg, "Is whatever world is beyond this one."

"I couldn't agree more, Zeltrax."

The other voice came from the opposite end, Rangers whipping around to see another part of the horde, and with it another warrior.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me." Blake groaned beside them.

This one was garbed in robes above his armor, a jagged sword strapped to his back. His head was shaped into the body of a shark, a metal mask visible between the rows of teeth. Standing before the ranks of Byte-Bots, he glared at the Rangers with an equal mix of menace and glee.

"Vexacus," Zeltrax said with amusement. "How nice of you to join us."

"Wouldn't miss it for the world," he laughed. "You see, I too have a bone to pick with the Navy Ranger, per our last encounter."

"You guys are just great at making friends," Johnny grumbled.

"You should see the ones that aren't here," Kira quipped back.

But was the only brevity they were getting; without any other warning, the two warriors raised their weapons and charged.

Attacked on two fronts, the Rangers split, charging at their foes head-on.

Ray charged straight in; Power Sword poised for a frontal approach. Not good enough. He'd hoped Vexacus would dodge, stumbling off balance to give Ray a real opening, but the bounty hunter didn't budge. He parried, side-stepping and flinging Ray backward with a heavy, countering strike. Jake had swept around, hoping to hit Vexacus with his back turned, and instead, the two Rangers collided. With younger Rangers out of the way, Vexacus made straight for Blake, eager to enact his vengeance.

Over on the edge, Johnny and Kira were left to battle Zeltrax alone.

"This seems familiar," the cyborg chuckled as he stared down the Black and Yellow Ranger. "But I can assure you, this battle will have a different outcome."

The two engaged, Johnny, jabbing in hard with his staff to keep the Cyborg at bay. Zeltax shifted back, batting the low blowback with his sword and smashing Johnny's helmet with his shield as Kira closed in for the kill. Free of his first opponent, Zeltrax swung to block. Her grips sparked off the shield, the black-armored warrior spinning to deliver a powerful kick to her chest and send her reeling. She hit the ground and tumbled, Johnny rushing to his sister's side.

"Nice try!" Zeltrax chuckled, unleashing a barrage of lasers from his helmet. The rounds scattered across the grounding, bursting into blooming explosions. Too far back and exposed, Johnny and Kira were sent hurling across the street, hitting the ground hard with smoke steaming from their suits.

From the edge, Ray cried to help, knowing he was too far away. And right now, he still had a more pressing problem. Blake was holding his own but tired from fighting the waves of Byte-Bots, and Vexacus was starting to gain the advantage. Sword and staff clashed as each one struck for every opening, old enemies twirling around each other as their weapons collided strike after strike.

Then Blake swung through empty air; Vexacus stepping aside having seen the blow coming. With his weapon now free, he struck at the opening, gleefully slicing across Blake's chest with wicked intent. Sparks burst from the suit, Navy Ranger flying as the bounty hunter sauntered over him and loomed.

"I have waited a long time for this day," he snarled, raising his sword to finish the job.

But the blow never landed.

The air was filled with a roaring engine, gears grinding as all heads turned in surprise. Then to everyone's amazement, a motorcycle launched from behind the Byte-Bots.

The rider, clad in a red-striped jacket, flipped off the saddle, soaring through the air as his bike rocketed toward Vexacus. As the shark-helmet warrior dived aside, the rider twisted their body, changing direction and snapping out their leg to kick Zeltrax square in the chest.

He flipped off, landing in front of Johnny and Kira as the cyborg stumbled backward. He pulled off the helmet, revealing a young man with olive skin, grinning at the Rangers.

"Heard about a commotion happening downtown," he said. "Good to know I'm in the right place."

Then, before anyone could say anything else, he snapped out his hand to reveal a burned-chrome flip phone. The screen folded out, unfolding further to form a point with a red tip, his thumb dancing across the pad to punch numbers while barely looking down.

"Too late to join the party?" he asked before pulling the phone across his chest. "Magical Source! Mystic Force!"

Red lightning charged from the tip as he reefed up the device, a large red circle appearing above. The sigil snapped downward, engulfing the man's body and showering it with light. When it faded, standing in his place was a red-suited warrior, helm's visor shaped in the silhouette of a phoenix and a short cape billowing behind him.

"Forceful as fire!" he cried, snapping into a fighting pose. "Mystic Force, Red Ranger!"

Then he raised his sword, red energy swirling around his body as it moved toward the blade's tip. "Power of the Phoenix!"

As we swiped, the energy pulsed out like a wave, striking Vexacus across the chest and exploding. The blast hurled him backward, sending him reeling back into the surrounding Byte Bots as the Red Mystic Ranger rushed to Blake's side. Seizing their chance, Jake and Ray lunged forward, Modem Blasters firing at Zeltrax in a wild barrage. The cyborg snarled as he stumbled back, giving Johnny and Kira the chance to recover and regroup with the team.

"Thanks for the save," Ray told the newcomer. "The name's Ray."

"Nick," said the other Red Ranger firmly. "Glad to help."

"Don't suppose you've got experience fighting a horde of evil robots?" Jake asked.

Nick turned to the horde, sword spinning in a flourish. "Something like that."

Still, it wasn't good. With six Rangers, they could maybe hold their own against the two warriors. But with all those Byte-Bots…

"You can have all the colorful friends you want," Zeltrax sneered.

"That doesn't make a dent in our numbers against you," agreed Vexacus.

"You sure about that?!"

The voice roared above them as an entire flank of Byte-Bots exploded. Flames pillared into the air, the cyborgs gasping in shock as the foot-soldiers clattered to the ground. Then, through the fire and flames, burst the rest of the Data Rangers.

And they'd brought company.

The two motorcycles opened fire, lasers blasting the ranks of Byte-Bots as behind each rider sat a second Ranger; The Black suited one behind Ben unloading with his pistol while behind Hilary was one garbed in purple, who with a scoop of his hands unleashed a powerful wave of powerful purple energy.

Then came another barrage, this time from Kyle as his ATV burst onto the scene, Damon soaring above on his Jet-Jammer to rain down a hail of laser fire. As the remaining Byte-Bots staggered from the wreckage, the newcomers vaulted from their vehicles to form a line beside their comrades.

"Thought you guys could do with a hand," said Kyle as he looked back at the others.

"Guys," Hilary introduced, "this is Will, the Black Operation Overdrive Ranger, and RJ, the Purple Wolf Ranger of the Jungle Fury Team."

"Welcome aboard," Ray replied. "Sorry about the welcoming party."

"I think it's nice that they came out in droves to greet us," RJ replied.

"Sorry it took so long," Hilary admitted. "Had a situation at the dam to deal with first."

"Besides," Ben added, "it takes time to gather the cavalry."

In examining the scene, Kyle turned his attention to Ray. "What's the play, fearless leader?"

Already around them, the Byte-Bots were recovering, ready and eager for another charge. At the edge, Zeltrax and Vexacus were eagerly staring them down.

"Can you herd them together?" he asked the veterans, "We'll keep the Byte-Bots off you while you guys corral those clowns into place. We can take it from there."

"Right!"

The Rangers scattered, Data Squad immediately vaulting to the edges with their weapons drawn. Way clear, the veterans split off to tackle their nemeses.

"Hey, Zeltrax!" Kira called out, lunging to her old foe for a rematch. "Remember this? Super Dino Mode!"

Thunder cracked against the clear sky as the Yellow Ranger's suit began to glow. Holding her arms back, white spikes burst from diamonds lining her suit, a titanic roar sounding from beneath her helmet. Then, head snapping back down to glare at her old enemy, she moved. And she moved fast.

She lunged into the air, arms spread wide to reveal the wings beneath. She soared overhead, barbs on her feet slicing at the cyborg's armor as swooped around for another strike.

This time Zeltrax was ready, her boots slamming into the shield as she kicked down from the vantage.

"Made you look!"

With the Yellow Ranger applying the pressure, Zeltrax could barely turn as Nick and Damon lunged, magi-staff and Quasar Saber slashing across his back as the duo closed in for a sneak attack.

"Lights of Orion!" Damon called. "Trans-dagger!"

The Green Ranger was shrouded in golden light, armbands and belt flashing to his form as he flipped around his dagger into a crossbow.

"Transblaster!" he cried. "Fire!"

Green bolts of energy fired from the weapon, exploding at Zeltrax's feet as Kira swept in. "Going up?"

Her feet caught around his neck, latching tights as she soared onwards, the cyborg thrashing helplessly in her grip. She didn't have to take him far.

At the other went wide, Blake charged Vexacus head-on, Thunder-Staff poised right for the chest. The shark-headed warrior cackled as he brought down his sword, parrying the blow and pulling the Navy Ranger closer.

"Is that the best you've got?" he sneered. "After all this time, I'd have thought you'd have learned some new tricks."

But Blake's head snapped up, helmet obscuring the grin beneath. "Thought I'd settle for some new friends, instead!"

Vexacus realized the ploy just in time, barely casting Blake aside in time to dodge Will's descending Drive Slammer. As the hammer cratered the ground, Vexacus skidded backward, immediately to see the charge Wolf Ranger coming straight for him.

"Energy strike!"

Streaks of purple energy burst from RJ's knees and elbows, slicing across Vexacus' body before skidding to a landing on the other side. Sparks flew from the warrior's armor with every strike, micro-shockwaves pulsing out as the limbs connected. Satisfied, RJ flipped back as Vexcaus stumbled in frustration.

"Impudent Ranger!" he cursed, "You'll pay for that!"

"Right back at ya!"

As the light blue energy unleashed from the warrior's blade, Blake lunged in, snapping his staff into a shield to intercept the blast. The bolts rebounded from the surface, zooming back to their owner and colliding with his chest. Vexacus roared as he was hurled backward, unable to see who had been lying in wait. With the perfect hit lined up, Will closed in, the force of his hammer crashing into the bounty hunter to send him flying.

The shark warrior tumbled along the ground, rolling to where Zeltrax had been dropped by the soaring Dino Ranger. As the duo stumbled to their knees, they realized to their horror that their much-lauded numbers had turned against them.

While they'd been occupied with their grudges, the Data Rangers had completely dismantled the Byte-Bots numbers. Now the Cranston City protectors stood before them, armed and ready, new comrades by their side.

With a grin, Ray looked over at his teammates.

"Let's give these two a real Cranston City Welcome," he decided.

"Yeah!"

They snapped into position, Power Weapons slotting together in perfect harmony. Huddled together, the six of them lowered their mighty canon and leveled it at the villains. "Data Blaster, Hyper Mode! Fire!"

The cannon thundered as the round burst from the barrel. Connecting with the pair, it burst into a rocketing ball of fire, after-shock rippling through the air as it slammed the pair of them backward. Two villains flailed as they soared, colliding with a truck that crumpled with the impact.

But despite the blast taking the pair of them down, the duo was not out. Slowly the villains rose, climbing from the wreckage with a growl and stumbling back toward the Rangers. But the blast had not been for nothing; Zeltrax was missing the front of his arm, sparking wires protruding from the parts remaining. Meanwhile, Vexacus was moving with a limp, defiantly stumbling forward as the pair looked up at the force before them.

All twelve Rangers now had their weapons drawn, leveled at the villains.

"You may have won this round, Rangers," Vexacus snarled, "but this is far from over!"

And with that, the air flashed with green, consuming the two warriors and remnants of the Byte-Bot forces to support them all away. A tense quiet hung throughout the air, as the Rangers all looked around to survey the damage. The street was a mess, with ruined vehicles littering the road, building walls peppered by laser fire, and shattered glass splattered across the ground.

But at last, the threat was gone. For now.

Allowing himself a desperate gasp of relief, Ray looked around to check for any wandering eyes. Seeing none, at last, he nodded to the rest of the Rangers to give the all-clear.

"Power Down!" The suits vanished, leaving the exhausted warrior to slump down in their civilian clothing.

"All right!" Will lauded, "We just kicked some monster butt!"

"It might be too early for celebrations, my dude," RJ warned with cautious admission. "The whole secret lies in confusing the enemy so that they cannot fathom the real intent."

While the Overdrive Ranger looked at his new comrade with confusion, beside him Blake merely gave a weary, knowing nod.

Then they heard a sound, clinking glass, and groaning hinges. As Ray whipped around, Bulk and Skull were climbing from the wreckage of the Shak, staring at their ruined establishment.

"Well," Bulk decided, "it needed a renovation anyway."

"Yeah," Skull agreed with a cheeky, excited grin. "Now we have an excuse to let insurance pay for it!"

But beneath the bluster, Ray could see the cost this battle had taken. All the hard work of the dynamic duo now lay in ruins. And for the Rangers, the cost was even greater. The Shak was their home, their sanctuary. And now it was a pile of splinters and shattered glass.

Gideon's force may have retreated, but that strike had done something far more important than claiming a mere victory; it was sending a message.

Nowhere was safe.

And as he looked up at the sky, his teeth ground in frustration as he couldn't help but brace himself for whatever Gideon was planning for next.

"Hey," said a quiet voice next to him.

Ray turned around to that Hilary was standing beside him. Sensing his tension, she tried to place a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"You can relax now," she said. "It's over."

But even her smile couldn't ease his mood, shifting the brooding doubt that welled in his mind. Because she was wrong.

"No," Ray replied, eyes narrowing at the sky, knowing Gideon was above them; watching. "He's only just getting started."
