Chapter 16- 'Hello to Hell and Farewell to Misrepresentation'

Tourists were everywhere and loving Luxor with their photography of the great Temple of Karnak. Odion parked the car with Luanne still asleep and Marik out of the car with a black tank top. No far from here is his Headquarters. The heat was getting to Luanne so she bumped her elbow in the process of nature's rude awakening. Odion asked, "Are you okay Luanne?" she groaned.

"Where are we? Where is Wati? I need to go back to Cairo, I don't want him to join you guys! Take me back, take me back!" Luanne was screaming inside of the car and banging the door. Odion calmed her down but she ended up sobbing a little. Marik could hear her.

"We're are in Karnak, Luanne. Mr Khait's arrangements are Marik's plan so I do not know for certain what he has arranged or what you have discussed." Odion said. That silenced Luanne, as she should not put it upon Odion.

"We can talk if you ever need to Luanne." Odion said empathetically. She nodded and took a deep breath. Marik opened the door and out comes Luanne attempting to wrestle with him but his strength was greater and he pinned her to the ground out from the car. "Rise and shine Luanne!" He tried to lighten the mood for Luanne.

"Oh, so you want to rehearse our little drama again, little Luanne?" He grinned with his snide question.

"Why do you want my brother as your Rare Hunter? He has done nothing wrong, I was the one responsible… no actually it's just you, you creep!" For the first time Luanne was about to show her lament of fear in front of Marik. He enjoyed it; he has the power to bend her to his will. She was quiet for a while as she gathered some sand with her fingertips.

"This pathetic brother of yours isn't employed so, I thought he make a good asset of mine-" Tiny grains of sand flew into his eyes. "-In you dream!" He heard Luanne screamed. And he yelped. He didn't expect her to go so far into throwing sand at him. Marik stood up to find Odion coming out with a bottle of water he was about drink with. His eyes stung so much. Luanne hid behind Odion as he snatched the water from Odion's hands.

"You pay for that dearly, you wench!" Marik sneered gravely. He tried to wash off the sand out of his eyes but it stung too much. Odion wanted to help but Marik pushed his servant's hand away. "I'll do it myself." Marik sat on one of the temple stones trying to wash his eyes. Odion went and bought some more bottles of water. Luanne just stood there but something came over her. She walked towards Marik and took the bottle of water and assisted Marik. Marik was confused who it was at the first place but saw the petit tan hands brushing of his face as the sand came out. The other bandage hands from the dog bite were holding the bottle. She got a pink handkerchief from her pocket. It was embroidered with " Ecclesiastes 1:18 for SaNuLu " with intricate patterns and a blue hamsa in yellow dove and a ring of flowers. Marik took it and dabbed his eyes and it smelled like jasmine and lavender.

"Thanks…" Marik said quietly, he gave was about to hand her handkerchief back and as she took it, he grabbed her wrist. "Pull that foolish stunt again, I will send your brother straight to the Shadow Realm without granting him a rank in my Rare Hunters." He hissed as he stood up and brushed pass her. He took the handkerchief with him.

Odion and Marik were saying something and she was waiting for them. Although this is the first time coming to Karnak, Luxor and it would be nice to start writing about travel some time. Why is Odion not certain about Marik's decision? He did ask her to meet Marik from the beginning.

"Master Marik, we have captured the Feisal Household, they will be in special accompaniment by the duelists who tried to resist us." A young boy with four other casual boys bowed slightly in the public place. One was Ray from last night, Inas, Hassan who was holding his camera and snapping the Karnak temple, Carlton Rima and Halima Ghada.

"Is that supposed to happen, little Bryn? I was thinking along the lines of redirecting the shipment. Is that also implemented?" Marik sighed as he looked down at the younger teenager.

The younger boy laughed awkwardly. "I was in a hurry but I managed to list the task of the things our team implemented. So the thing is, it's not just shipment, we hijacked some of Industrial Illusions Cargo by the lower ranking men of ours from my lead…?" Bryn scratched his head after handing a piece of scrap paper of other things they have done.

"Bryn, you didn't use our software, did you…?" Marik rolled his eyes. He crossed his arms as he checked the entire task accomplished.

"That software is outdated and I needed one that won't need us to conceal our algorithms. I also thought the past tracking took time for us to conceal our tracks. Umm, Master Marik, where did you put me… guitar?" Bryn said shyly but Marik glared at him.

"By the Sphinx statue of the duel simulating chamber… It is as though you planned it all well and done it swiftly. Although, why did you take the bus and then hitched to Deir El Bahari? You also took 2 extra hours plowing for a local farm! You have escorts waiting for you, you fool!" The other Rare Hunters laughed at the young lackey as Marik got peeved at Bryn.

"Yeah, that was unintentional… but I commissioned my work to get extra cash from the farmer." Bryn twiddled his thumbs, as he was nervous. Marik scowled at his young lackey, no employer fancies hearing their employee working elsewhere.

"It's no wonder you couldn't join us for last night's siege, a girl did your job for you." Odion informed Bryn.

"Actually I honestly do not know complex coding so that wasn't my job to begin with Sir Odion." Bryn addressed the Second in Command under Master Marik. Marik chuckled thinking back on the siege, only Luanne knew how to hack using complex coding.

"Lastly… this one is to frame the current Governorates Administration. We wanted to ensure that hand over of their administrations and documents if we succeed." Bryn said in a more serious tone. Luanne heard 'frame the current Governate' and turned their way. Marik glanced at Luanne even if she was far away and quickly turned back to Bryn, as Bryn handed over a thin file. "Bianca has forced her father to cooperate I think." Bryn felt that his report was complete.

"Hmm, That is outstanding work my Rare Hunter. I shall follow this up in the meeting tonight. Odion, lets have breakfast now." Marik finalized the brief meeting as he handed the file to Odion.

The two men walked towards Luanne who was attempting to take last photos of the Karnak Temple. Marik still peeved about the sand incident grabbed Luanne's elbow and turned her around. "You haven't been to Karnak before? Oh that's right, you don't travel much!" Marik was a little aggressive Luanne decided to not say a word.

"Marik, the car is this way…" Odion said as he pointed to the car and he and Luanne were heading towards the Temple. Luanne didn't feel like saying anything and walked towards Odion to the car. All of the car trip, she sat in front with Odion and Marik in his usual spot. Odion turned on the music just to drown out the awkward silence. 'Everyone Goes your Way' by Ella Eyre. "Great timing…" Luanne thought cynically.

"El Shahaby Restaurant please, Odion." Marik said as definitely listening to the music.

"As you wish Master Marik." Odion replied.

"You know, you sure are ill mannered for a daughter of a politician. I hope Wati is not going to be ill tempered as you. Well, actually…" He chuckled to himself "He was rather a vulgar fool who came home intoxicated. I'd say he'd be no exception coming from the Khaits." Luanne just listened, Marik wanted to see if he could rile her up.

Odion was trying to get Luanne's attention. As she glanced at him and he glanced back, mouthing 'talk to him' pointedly at the Egyptian Blonde sitting at the back. She shook her head, 'he's crazy' as she mouthed back.

"Who is crazy, may I ask, little Luanne?" Marik asked half menacingly as he observed their discreet interaction with the help of his Millennium Rod. Still no word from her as she was trying her best to seep through Marik's travesty.

"If you two are going to continue your secret liaisons, it isn't going to work as I have ways of acquiring the information I need." Marik pointed his Millennium Rod at Luanne as it was glowing.

"Master Marik wishes to speak to you Luanne, please don't test his patience." Odion pulled the breaks and shut the engine as they are in front of the restaurant.

"Thank you Odion, now shall we go in?" Marik lowers his Millennium Rod and opens the door glaring at Luanne before shutting the door. Luanne nodded. As they came in, the restaurant was filled with cane chairs and brought out a home-like atmosphere. The waiters knew who they were and immediately allowed Marik to be seated at the best exclusive place as possible. Luanne walked slow and as further as possible.

"Excuse me, do you have any nearby grocery markets around here." Luanne asked a waitress.

"Ragab Sons madam, only 15 minutes walk from here, Google map is the way to go." Luanne took her phone out and continued following Odion. She ran a bit just to close the distance to the rooftop with colorful exotic cushions. The waiters brought two Shisha pipes to the table and the Carte. Luanne sat opposite Marik but Odion shifted the pipes.

"Sorry I need to move the pipes." Odion said making her to sit where he originally intended, next to Marik who was smirking.

The waiter came and Odion told him to bring their usual food for both Marik and himself.. Luanne wasn't famishing so she just sat there looking at the morning sky.

"You did not order your food, Luanne?" Marik lit the shisha as he was wondering from her lack of activity.

"I'm not famished as all." Luanne said simply. Still anxious for her brother she can't show it. She refuses for this boy to employ him and probably the first mistake was to agree to the contract.

The Waiter came back mysteriously without any sign from Marik of Odion. It was Marik who called him back with his Millennium Rod. The waiter handed Marik the Carte again and he dropped it in front of Luanne carelessly. She sighed and opened the cover.

"What do you want?" Marik asked. Luanne sighed and tilted her head. She shut the Carte and retuned to the Waiter. "Just Orange Juice please." She feigned her cheerfulness.

Marik snatch the Carte from the Waiter, "Hold on!" Marik growled and look at the Carte. He pointed to the Vegetable Curry and the Lentil Soup. "Those will do, for the girl" He gave the Carte back to the Waiter and lay on the seats, enjoying his Shisha. Luanne never fancied those as the chemicals are thought to be harmful, as one would develop lung cancer with style. "I'd much blow simple soapy bubbles or a harmonica".

"Our little Luanne would much rather play with a harmonica and blow bubbles then blow this." Marik mocked. He smirked again as Odion sighed and just shook his head. Luanne just looked at Marik with disgust; he used the Millennium Rod on her again.

"I think it's safe to not use to the toxic chemicals Marik." Odion said.

"I know, well Odion I'm sure you wouldn't want an infantile opinion to ruin our Shisha moment." Marik glared at Luanne again. When Odion said nothing he continued to a new topic.

"I think Ishizu still have it that night, she had the Guards aid her and therefore, Obelisk the Tormentor wasn't deported or hidden elsewhere. I could feel the divine presence either way. Sister came out for fear as she was able to predict our move…" Marik concluded holding his Millennium Rod in front of him.

"Should we continue monitoring her moves?" Odion asked

"Since are here in Luxor and she is still in Cairo, no. I know she will be looking for the two I possess. I also want to defy the odds of replicating some genuine cards. Sell them as we speak counterfeits with the new ones we have received. After all, I have Ray's girlfriend, as he likes to put it spy on Ishizu. She is an archaeologist in training." Marik puffed rings of smoke and so did Odion. The food came and Luanne was still trying to sit apart from Marik.

"Funny, you barely know the fraudulent law of this country. And one of the consequences in fraudulence is to rescind and deal or contract." Luanne stood up and with her hand on her hips" Marik and Odion looked at her with their distained mockery.

"And?" Marik 'tsked' smugly before blowing on the Shisha.

This made Luanne flinch, "One would sue in the tort of deceit for damages to compensate for any loss cause by relying on the fraudulent misinterpretation. If word comes out about your heinous crimes, you will be in trouble." She pointed at Marik.

Marik snickered and pointed to Odion too in a mocking manner. "What about Odion who has 'accomplices', he is also under my management, who also appointed someone like…" Marik placed the pipe down and he stood up and closed in on her and with one his hand flicked Luanne's forehead. "You…"

"Ow!" She rubbed her forehead and looked at Marik who looked pointed at her obvious error, he was serious now. "Before examining my errors of legality with your adherent views of law, remember what initiated you to sign your own blood to me."

Luanne looked at Odion who was just starting his mean and looked back at Marik and nodded. She was silenced for good; Marik also started consuming his meal. She was famished and she finally succumbs to having a meal with him again.

Moments later, she had at least forgotten about Wati for now. Perhaps it isn't a bad job for him as she saw early, the younger boy who was so casually working for Marik. What was his name again? Brian? Barry? Marik and Odion had gone to a meeting leaving her to walk around the top part of the restaurant. She took of the bandage from the dog bite. Just a scar and a pretty one left by the almighty Samson. She smiled and she went back to the table.

The Shisha, she wiped the part Marik put his mouth on. Should she try it? No… maybe just once. She sucked on it and instantly coughed dramatically and found the remaining of the orange juice to be a relief. She reaches for her handkerchief but she realized Marik still has it. "Shit!' she managed to say it as smoke escaped from her mouth.

Luanne was disgusted about something and trying to find something to cleanse her mouth with. She ran to the interior of the restaurant with exclusive rooms. Marik and a few Rare Hunters for a brief meeting and he spotted her she was coughing and dashing through the hall and half squirming. "Oh my God! Eeew… What the hell? I need more Orange Juice!" and more coughs.

The Rare Hunters just starred at each other as Marik was in the middle of speaking lost the train of thoughts of what he needed to address. He gazed at Odion who was still listening. "Sir, you were on the topic of Blackmail the Defense Force for more weapons." Odion said did not dare to look at Marik.

"I know!" Marik snapped, "Now as I was saying… Suspend the Governorates' trades if they refuse cooperation."

Luanne wasn't looking until she bumped into someone. It was the boy from earlier. "Oh bummer, you got me and me butt hard." The Eurasian boy said.

"I'm sorry, my sincerely apologies." Luanne said.

"You were going like almost 20km per hour or something. Ah you were the fancy intelligent girl who accompanies Master Marik with a special contract he had mentioned. Me name's Bryn.. uh are you okay?" Luanne was coughing.

"Orange Joo-" Luanne had her mouth cupped and coughing out the smoke incessantly.

"Oh, yeah sure, from here right because I have-"

"Ragab Sons!" Luanne managed to squeeze the name of the place.

"Yeah alright." Bryn took her to his Bicycle and they went straight to the supermarket and oh cause she went for some grocery shopping. She changed her mind with the Orange Juice and got water and chewing gum and simple ingredients for her lunch.

"Are you better, was it the Shisha?" Bryn asked concern about her.

"Yeah, nasty stuff." Luanne sighed, "I'm better not and hell I'm never going to touch another crap like that."

"I hate those too. They will fuck up me lungs quite literally."

Both came back to find Marik and Odion outside the restaurant with two other Rare Hunters Luanne have never met. Definitely bother are the same age as Bryn. He was walking rather slowly towards Marik and with a nervous look. He was biting his lips and a sweet grin as he approached Marik who was crossing his arm. Luanne could empathise the boy.

"You missed this meeting for a stranger Bryn. I'm not surprised. And Luanne, I think we should agree harmonicas and bubbles area safer option for your delicate lungs." Smirking at both, least he gets angry for he wanted Bryn to encompass on a journey again.

"Did I mention I played an Ocarina too?" Luanne chuckled and Marik was handed a harmonica from Odion. Luanne rolled her eyes as both Marik and Odion laughed.

"Don't get ahead of yourself, just enjoy. This is a courtesy from us." Marik for one glance looked younger when he grinned. He was being nice for once.

"Sorry Master Marik… I had to take her to buy something." Bryn bowed lower than before.

"You were already late for this meeting and yet you did an unnecessary puritan deed. Bailey and Jun Yoon will fill in the details." He looked down smugly.

Bryn looked up and relaxed and Marik gave him something small box in return and whispered. "Take this to Ishizu." A cruel smirk laced along his mouth.

Marik was alone at least he needed to be as Odion and Luanne drove to Museums. He didn't care an ounce for the girls who just cause his eye to irritate with sand. He had to admit, there were girls that have done worse things to him but she was self-controlled. He reached from his pocket, the handkerchief He didn't return it intentionally, if something sentimental as a handkerchief is taken makes her anxious, her family will too. He strolled along the Nile River and the afternoon was semi enjoyable. He used to love the world until the night a spirit named Shadi assassinated his father by the will of the Pharaoh. Every part of him wants this world to cower before him.

Suddenly a group of men, a gang of four held their weapons, gathering Marik. "Well. Well. Well if isn't a child with jewelry. We want your money kid, nothing personally." One man said. Marik stopped and smirked. It was clear he was their victim.

"Hey boss we found a blonde kid." Another man came turned to a middle age man who looks like he is a mafia godfather.

"Dis is it boys, get 'em for me." The boss said.

"Then when we get blonde we get good food aye perhaps I can take his gold stick there?" Another man snickered. As they were about to strike Marik, he immobilized them still using the power of the Shadows with his Millennium Rod.

|"I do not think it is prudent of you to make me a victim. I am the prey who is a predator. Before you lay hands on anyone fools, how much do you get paid?" I will give you an offer your impoverished boss can't even afford."| Simply though their mind, Marik looked at them as though he was admiring statues, statues he could taunt. He chuckled pacing around the sandy coast of the Nile River.

|"If you three serve me, I will provide more than staples to your stomach. "It will be wealth that you pathetic boss is incapable of offering. All you have to do is dispose of you boss. When you're done, follow me."| He released the three and the three feared his powers. They looked to their boss and both nodded to one another and seized their boss like Marik ordered them to. They began a punching spree and Marik welcomed him to the Shadow Realm They tossed his lifeless body to the river.

Marik laughed as they came to him and he applauds them, as they kneeled to him.

"Excellent work… I like how you chose a better option than that old fool. Meet me in the Temple of Karnak if you want your induction."

"W-What is you name sir?" A man asked

"From today, I am you Master and you may address me as Master Marik. I seek various things and your skills interest me. Firstly you will stay obedient to me, as you're now my Rare Hunters or Ghouls if you prefer that simplicity of a name. Secondly, bring me Duel Monster Cards and if you do not know how to duel, we will be glad to aid you in the lesson on dueling. Thirdly, if you fail or void our agreement, you will be severely punished like you petty former boss."

"Yes Master Marik." The three bowed.

Soon, Odion and Luanne drove to meet Marik who seemed to have gathered more disciples. Odion got a few things before heading down. Luanne stayed in the car as the Sunset prostrated before the horizon. Marik gave them the induction. They walked towards the car. Luanne got off the car to dusk sand from her shoes and Marik grinned at her.

"Miss me?" Marik grabbed her wrist; Luanne panicked and screamed at his sudden movement.

"Not. Really." Luanne glared at him narrowly.

"Oh, my dear you have hurt me. Come sit with me then." He said with a feigned tone.

"Like I have a choice, fine I'll sit with you…" she muttered.

He opened the door for her to enter the back seat and they all went to the place where Marik and his Ghouls reside.

The trio went to a secluded part of the Temple and a tomb that was hidden. Marik led them to a gate, high enough to guard anyone who tries to trespass. Despite spending the day with the two she is still fearful of the place. Odion unlocked the Iron Gate much larger than Luanne's home. They drove into a parking lot and they are decorated with Egyptian statues. There was a staircase that was already lit with touches.

It was very morbid and the evening subdued every light. She got out of the car and realized how strange this place was outside. It was a place she could recognize in the day but in at night it feels like a different place with familiar settings.

"I am probably not welcomed here." She muttered to herself.

Marik turned around, wondering why she was taking small steps. "You ought to know, this place is my home and you are welcome to stay just like the time you invited me in Cairo, so do not fear for we are not strangers." He took her hand, this time gentler.

"Speak of the devil…" She whispered.

"There has been much folklore about secret societies who knew how to conceal their presence amongst the public's eye through magic. You have just entered a barrier, no one can see or hear us inside the shadows." Marik informed her. This boy is taking her to 'hell'.

Cairo

Ishizu was at home in her apartment block collecting mail. There was a parcel, address from MI. She opened the parcel was an old jar ten years ago. She opened the content and was the torn Pixie Knight, an in-tacked Mudora card and a note from her brother. "He used to keep his baby tooth in this." She muttered to herself in lament of him sending something back. There lay a note, "Dear Sister, you are the one creating the differences between us. You are mistaken to send my book to me; and this is a returned favour. If you knew how much destiny is on my side, you wouldn't be slaving for the Pharaoh. If you see pass the Millennium Necklace with its limited power, I am destined. Do not make the wrong choice, Ishizu. I'm warning you! – Marik Ishtar

"No brother, your hatred grows and it is the one creating our difference." She said it and only wished he could hear it. Her tear began to flow, no one in her family have seen her cry.

After settling into a guest room, Luanne quickly locked her door, fear of criminals entering her chamber. The chamber was pretty cozy but only full of ancient artifacts. He definitely wasn't lying about knowing ancient hieroglyphics and many of the wall interiors were limestone. There is yet darkness even the chamber had plenty of candles for her to lit, she had to strain her eyes to get things done. Odion did bring her laptop miraculously to her so she could start writing. She remembered what Odion said in the Museum, "submitting to the one with an unreasonable demand will underline victory in hindsight." After the Museum trip, Marik was more arrogant and he seems to be an expert with his threats.

There was a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" Luanne asked.

"Bianca, Master Marik wished all of us to attend this meeting. I'll catch up later but come now."

"But I barely started…" Luanne sighed and repacked her laptop. She unlocked the door and Bianca came in. Her dark crimson bob hair was shinier that she had remembered the Rare Huntress to be. She had intense eyeliner and lipstick against her pale skin shocked Luanne. Her Indigo Rare Hunters robe shaped her lean figure.

She looked at Luanne smugly, "No time to write? We Rare Hunters have fun every time at work." She showed of whip as she was wearing leather gloves. "Like what you see?"

"Wow you look, well hot. What is it for?" Luanne smiled nervously.

Bianca looked up and down at her. " It's actually a for our flogging punishment. I don't think I have seen it performed here but Master Marik often warns us about betraying the organisation. You're not going to wear that in the meeting." Luanne was wearing her floral hipster dress.

"It's comfortable though, didn't know we have a dress code. I mean not my position at least. I'm an editor and journalist." She smiled and Bianca shook her head. She opens a closet and took a Noir Latex Deep V Neck Sleeveless Long Black Evening Dress.

"Oh no, hell no! I'm not selling my body with the cleavage and have guys look at me in a lingerie." Luanne frowned. She plaited her hair and wore a burgundy hipster hat.

"He's not going to like it but suit yourself. Don't blame me like I didn't warn you. All girls have to wear this if they are meeting formally. I'm the only Huntress at this moment." Bianca sighed.

"I'm no Rare Huntress and nor did he address any formality in my work. I'm helping Marik for free." She walked out of her room.

Bianca still held her clothes in case she changes her mind. Marik was waiting as his Rare Hunters assembled. He wore the attire. The mauve robe hooded with an oculus in front. Chains draped along his chest and his hood. His golden throne with files from Bryn, it was confidential and a trump card for his only Rare Huntress Bianca to yield her father's rights as the National Treasurer to him. She betrayed her family. Soon, Wati who is Luanne's brother will as well. Speaking of Luanne, she is late!

"… aww yeah you know London will be pretty cool…" Luanne came in. "Shh" Bianca said to her.

As she entered all men robed like Gregorian monks starred at her. The Rare Hunters are criminals.
