Chapter 18- The Epiphany of Faith will Shatter Part I
That Girl had been in the kitchen all day trying to scribe after writing Bryn's short story, he hands was freezing cold and looking at all the pages compiled, she dropped he pen. Alone as no one was there, the place was musty and lack natural lighting. The afternoon was eerie, so she looked at her phone to check the news. Her father was signing more policies as a direct response to the Egyptian welfare. It has been a while since she went to New York and sat with the United Nations. As Luanne browsed through, she had too much to write… U.S. Government trying to intervene on Slavery, her father being pressured to hand his seat to his own senate and worse being stuck with a Secret Society that plays and steal cards. She chuckled about the fact people feared this this organisation that is based on a kind of religion.
"You've written a hefty amount, Luanne. Do you not ever rest?" Marik sat beside her. Luanne switched off her phone and sighed. Luanne saw Marik holding two plates of pumpkin pies.
"I wanted to ask about Bryn's life, how has his culture changed from an employer's perspective." Luanne was straightforward about it.
Marik rolled his eyes, "You're as annoying as Rita Skeeter, and can't you just switch off your mind for a moment? In fact your sister called Wati. I have a suspicion that it is something urgent but I rejected the call." Marik started chowing down on his food.
"If it is urgent, it is excusable…" Luanne glanced at Marik. Marik was contemplating on angering her but she was like Bryn, switching off trivial situations and laugh at the circumstances.
"Do you want to know what it is about at least?" Marik smirked knowing that it will shock her.
"She is barely home, why should I care?" Luanne sucked her fork and reading through her note.
"Oh, I think you will care and you do care. My Millennium Rod says so." Marik mused.
"Nope, not going to care…" Luanne kept reading.
"You are one interesting girl with a ratchet weave of a nest. It's no wonder you have no friends." Smirking at her, he senses insecurity. She has a lot of low self esteem when she was younger, when she was placed with burden of plentiful. She raffled her own hair.
"Oh this hair, I like my hair so no one can come close to me." She narrowed her irises and smirked.
"Am I mistaken you wanted to be lonely?" Marik leaned forward. "Girls that dislike hanging around crowds are adamantly introverted and yet Odion says you are extroverted. What confusion and misrepresentation of you as a journalist.
"Okay, if you're an expert in representation of accuracy, who should I dress, behave or amenities I have to display in you 'honorable presence'. He was getting to her.
"Well you are starting so sound rather cynical. A dawdling wind pipe who is uncertain who I am and to what purpose I have for you… "
"We have a contract and I have submitted myself to the Shadows. Need I say more? Honestly I don't care what supernatural obligations you have bestowed upon me. Just don't treat girls like they are your object." She points the pen at Marik as though she was scolding him.
"You really want to know why things are the way they are in this Underground society. You have become quite a feminist there, Luanne. Is it because of Bryn's story about how I happen to capture Carissa?" He plucked the pen off of Luanne's hand.
"A feminist, yes but you barely respect girls by your haughty action towards-"
"You mean this overpowering hand towards less desirable people?" Marik's demeanor suddenly changed as he smirked, gripping her chin locked tight. "You will never successfully analyse me before analyzing the fact that you have a glitch in your soul. Odion didn't tell you that having me around you to decipher me, I would be the one that dismantles your mind." Marik hissed, he was intimidating Luanne.
"A boy that uses force to get his way wants will not get what he wants." Luanne calmly uttered, "I remember you saying to me we are not some kind of dandy friends, on my term, you will have to earn it too." She gawked, "Por favor, tome su ego fuera de la cocina. Just go find a lady to display your egotistical misogyny away from your kitchen."
"You can't tell me what to do." Marik gripped harder.
"Ooh, too late… I just did. Where is your Millennium Rod?" Luanne curiously asked as Marik panicked and let go of her.
Marik smirked and stood up. "Well you are the first for not giving my Millennium Item a pitiful nickname, it's in my Throne Room."
Luanne smirked, "If I had a glass of water, I would repeat our little drama but, I'm going to let you transform me into the journalist you want me to be."
"You mean no paper, to pen, conforming to my dress code and accepting the fact I own your brother as the Head of the Rare Hunters and you're susceptible in being controlled what you write or even become in my communications department? As long as you aid Odion, I own you from inside out and that includes the delectable contract that you signed still in my grasp." Marik emitted his trademark chuckle.
"So you have a habit of contextualize how much lives you own. I guess recent events have boosted your confidence too. You are starting to make sense. I can describe you as a conceited man in my private observation with a conservative misogynistic perspective. Why don't you visit your family bound in slavery? Do you not have parents to save from your arbitrary quest of care illegal trading?" Luanne slowly watched Marik's attempt to shield his personal life as he growled.
"You need a make over… lose the glasses… wear darker clothes… stop writing for once and look around this place. I am a feminist too. I have employed women and not everyone will know this. You on the other hand, you are a Coptic Christian and I am not, probably a Kemetism Pagan as I haven't thought of a title in this modern context. It's rooted from an ancient practice and it's prophecy is selfish on serving a King that controls Ka…You will be persecuted because of your father's profile. What harm would it be to convert to my belief?" Marik continued.
"Uh… say that again…? I don't know what you mean, I'm not losing my faith to some criminal organisation." Luanne scowled.
"Never mind… I would drop the goody two shoes part if you… know that my Shadow power have completely and utterly know the magnificence of my powers. You'd work for me and you will have your contract soon for payment. And you will receive Indoctrination by the time you know everything about my organisation." Marik later held her hand.
"No games of conversion please… JUST NO!" Luanne said in a warning voice. He snatched her hand back.
" Just watch… I will make you into a completely different person." Marik mused. "Oh… yes I will… I will make you think like me, transform completely to someone with my taste of class…"
"You're pushing my boundaries as an individual! You said you would never objectify women and yet you sent Bianca to temp me…" Luanne huffed.
"That's the nature of the 'Blood and Soul' contract and your allegiance to me with the Shadows." Marik shrugged.
Luanne sighed, "The Bible to me is not a 'good book' to be read lightly. It is God breathed, the word of truth and salvation. You still have my handkerchief you crazy card thief… but you can keep it." Luanne gawked and sighed as she decided the point of generosity.
"Oh, why thank you… It is a nicer prophecy of salvation but one thing… the controversial dogma you Christians hold is weak and feeble. You mean your Jesus Christ, the dead God…that died on the cross, saved you. I have a prophecy like that and I am against it!" Marik sighed as he held back a growl. He won't share what he truly believes unless he was certain her agendas are clean.
"He resurrected and my faith is sufficient… and insulting my faith isn't going to change the fact you hold a dogmatic faith as yours. What is the matter?" Luanne finally smiled as she glanced at Marik.
"Of all questions about my faith, it isn't about the doctrine itself but the religious obligation of slavery… what does your 'Holy' book say about that?" Marik finally asked.
"That you will be free from the slavery of sin and…" Luanne tried to explain by Marik shuts his ears and smirks.
"Don't preach to me… blah blah blah… BLAH BLAH BLAH…" Marik was mocking her. He enjoyed making fun of her so he glanced at her with the utmost cynical expression.
"BUT YOU JUST ASKED ME A QUESTION!" Luanne was outraged.
Then two Rare Hunters arrived to seize her… "HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
"I know… but I'm not interested in a weak religion such as yours…Time for you make over!" Marik chuckled as he did plan that to tease her.
"WHAT!" She blasted. Marik followed his Rare Hunters to a hall that led to a bathroom.
"Like what you see? This is your punishment of being too boring and too upright…" Marik said sarcastically. He knew it wasn't a real punishment as it was to loosen her up with privileges.
There were hair straighteners make up set, manicure sets and all that she wouldn't have thought existed in a Secret Criminal Organisation. She found it odd that they weren't slaves; they were Bryn, Carissa, Jun Yoon, Erin and Bailey standing with magazines, fashion magazines stuck on the clipboard.
"Hey Luanne! I thought you ought to know, out mission is to make you look good!" Bryn whizzed. Marik knew this was too amusing. He sat by her as he watched his loyal Rare Hunters
"Okay…" Luanne shrugged.
"No glasses because we have contact lenses for you." Bailey took her spectacles off.
"Let's trim her brows! And followed by a facial… and make up!" Carissa said
"Let's get rid of her lioness hair…" Yun Yoon said.
"We're sorry to torture you Luanne but you're going to look beautiful today!" Bryn hugged her. Marik smirked concealing his laugh; he wanted this to be a ploy of deception.
After three hours of being transformed, her hair was permanently straightened, as she was different… Her face was contrasted with Carissa's artistic skills. She knew this was going to be nice gesture but she looks like a real model.
Marik glanced at her, "I think you do realize this is now my new Project. Luanne the tainted soul with a glitch to your… oh so wondrous religion.
"You sounded like Glinda…" Luanne chortled.
"Hey Glinda is blond too! The white witch right?" Bryn pointed at his Boss and laughed in exchange for a scowl. "Elfie… now that we're friends, I'm going to make you my next project."
"Popular…" Luanne snickered.
"Now where is your gratitude?" Marik pouted.
"Thank you… and honestly… you mad it a mission for your Rare Hunters?"
"Yes… now that you are done, would you like to observe more of this organisation or have some fresh air with Wati?" Marik leaned towards her; he couldn't help admire her looks. He glanced at Bryn as Bryn was waiting for a hi-five. Marik did so and Bryn giggled.
"So we passed the mission right?" Bryn asked. "We had to cosmetic classes for you Lu… pretty fun but I'd rather stick to gastronomy." He watched as his friends left.
Meanwhile Marik was with a group of failed in obtaining the cards. He was obviously immersed in darkness; Marik felt a second being holding his heart like ecstasy as he sent a soul from the group of five. That night, there was no Odion around. Marik had a throbbing head as anger takes over. It was clouding rationalism until Bryn and Luanne walked passed the meeting.
"THAT'S RIGHT, YOU ALL ARE ALL FOOLS! SUFFER THE INEVITABLE!" Marik yelled as he learnt of his rare Hunter's incompetence.
"We're really sorry… we are…" A Rare Hunter pleaded. Marik chuckled watching the man squirm as he used his Millennium Rod on them.
"Yeah… Buddhism is the same…Dalai Lama once said, "Whatever the question, love is the answer." Bryn pointed. "Like if you think about it, all religions does teach love and when you love anything works out."
"I love One Corinthians 13 from the Bible. Most importantly in John 3:16, 'For God so loved the world, He gave his one and begotten Son and whoever believes in Him will never dies." Luanne smiled.
"Yikes… that's pretty cool! Sounds like a true promise. Hey you know… your brother is settling well with the new ranks…." Marik's anger subsided and the other being… whatever it was disappeared. Even after sending the five to the Shadow Realm, being around Bryn and Luanne secretly gave him the peace the way Odion would. The toll of meddling with the Shadows hurts have him strength.
"Well it is the only way to recognize love through a higher being. Are you guys associated with like the 'Illuminati' by any chance?" Luanne asked a provocative question that made Bryn burst into laughter.
"WHAT?! That's the most random question I've ever heard! No… L-O-L!" Bryn kept laughing. "We are just a criminal secret society, not associated to the World Bourgeoisies.
"I see…" Luanne giggled.
"Hey do you have Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook or Twitter?" Luanne pulled out her phone.
"Yup, we have out lives too...I have everything! Let's see if I can add you now. My username is ' theredcloverswynny'." As Bryn showed Luanne his Instagram page with Bryn in his social life outside of Rare Hunters and one of Marik covering his face and one scowling. Another was sticking his middle finger at the camera and one as though he was yelling at Bryn for taking that very photo... typical. Luanne couldn't stop laughing as the hall was echoed with their voices.
"Selfie time! Bryn took a picture of Luanne and him and posted them on social media". It wrote, 'Meeting Khait in my work costume'. Bryn was holding a peace sign and Luanne smiling sweetly.
"Anyone who wishes to fail me again will find themselves in eternal torment…"He growled in annoyance of 'love' being a forbidden dialogue in his Ranks or the fact that his organisation is associated independently which was not entirely true. He power walked, out to check the two chatting. Ironically he just wanted to join them or perhaps take them out.
"Bryn and Lu… what are the best of spending an afternoon away from my morbid fortress?" Marik leaned on the wall. The underground was boring when one stays there for too long.
"Master Marik! W-what happen to that team just then?" Bryn was shocked, as they were lying on the ground lifeless.
"They lost Drillago again… and a few other valuable rare cards." Marik growled as he held his Millennium Rod tightly. "You two… come with me." He walked pass them to the parking lot.
"Are we doing what normal teenagers do?" Bryn asked.
"Are you thinking of clubbing?" Luanne asked.
"Master hates clubbing without alcohol…" Bryn whispered.
"I am a high tea person… I drink alcohol only on occasions." Luanne said.
"There is a night market though…" Bryn informed.
"Not clubbing… not high tea… not shopping… nor a mission… just a walk around the Temple of Karnak…" Marik said quietly. He went in the car and started the engine. He took Luanne by her hand and led her to the car. Luanne sat in front 'shotgun' seat and Bryn sat at the back. Marik was wearing a grey midriff and beige cargo pants.
"Oh… is it me or is the underground getting hotter by winter?" Bryn asked and realized it was kind of awkward that he is a third wheel.
Marik drove out, "You're not a third wheel Bryn… there is only us and her…" Marik smirked as he read Bryn's mind.
"What do you mean?" Bryn asked. Marik drove faster and faster.
"On the topic of love… I believe it is coherently just a feeling and it is not a divine power as God and even the Pharaoh doesn't understand love. They only produce slavery. My point is, no ruler can love, as they are selfish. Have you read in your Bible that he is a jealous God?" Marik asked cynically.
"That depends on one's interpretation and my interpretation is that he is a Holy and unblemished God and his jealous is due to human's being non-submissive to him as a ruler." Marik looked though his mirror and furrowed his eyebrow at Luanne's answer…
"Wrong…" He jerked the stirring wheel and back again.
"Agh! Master Marik, don't do that!" Bryn's heart skipped as he hugged Marik's seat.
"OH MY GOD! ARE, YOU CRAZY!" Luanne yelled and Marik laughed maniacally.
"How about… the cross… the cursed symbol of the pagan Rome. Why has it remained a symbol of the Christians?" Marik asked again in a dead serious and deadly manner. His laugh was quickly composed.
"It is a symbol of the Resurrection." Luanne said.
"WRONG AGAIN!" Marik jerked his wheel, which almost collided with the other side of the oncoming traffic and Luanne quickly pulled it back but Marik knew it though so he slapped her hand away. Bryn ended up hugging Marik.
"There is no proof that, the first 300 years after Christ's crucifixion, those claiming to be Christians used the cross in worship."
"Like you were there…?" Luanne gawked
"You could kind of say that… with my education that is… In the fourth century, however, pagan Emperor Constantine became a convert to apostate Christianity and promoted the cross as its symbol…Master Marik told me that…" Marik smirked as Bryn remembered those points." It is concluded that in both pre-Christian and non-Christian cultures. Various other authorities have linked the cross with nature worship and pagan phallic rites- you have to slow down because I just ate, Master Marik."
"DON'T YOU DARE, VOMIT IN THE CAR BRYN!" Marik stopped the car with the emergency break and Bryn opened the door and out comes his early dinner. Marik opened his door and rolled his eyes and walked to Bryn with his arms crossed. Twilight was pleasant as Luanne glanced at the sky. Luanne hated their discussion. 'Why do I feel uneasy about this Karnak stay…?" she thought. She glanced at the pair. Marik was lecturing his lackey about something as Bryn was vomiting.
"BRYN! THAT WASN'T PART OF THE PLAN YOU FOOL!" Marik was very obsessive compulsive about the things he had plan with Bryn… whatever that was.
"Sorry… your meeting was waaaaaaay toooooo loooooong and was waaaaaaaay tooooooo famished so I couldn't wait for you, Master Marik…" Bryn pouted, the eleven-year-old Bryn never changed, even if he is now thirteen now. "You know you went through red lights and you have exceed the speed limit?"
"So...?"
"There were cameras around and they are going to charge you for traffic offences." Bryn said.
"Oh, you didn't bring your laptop…" Marik realised Bryn wasn't using his hacking to change the law.
"You said it wasn't a mission so I took your word for it. Odion is going to freak out!" Bryn laughed.
"If you tell him, the fines that are directly billed to me will be taken from your pay check…" Marik warned him.
"So are we back to the Karnak plan?" Bryn asked.
Marik nodded, as he looked straight at Luanne who was resting her eyes. She was definitely prettier with make up and straightened hair. She then picked up her phone and received a call from her sister.
"This is Luanne…" Luanne said. Her expression changed as she learnt about something quite shocking. Marik quieted Bryn and telepathically eavesdropped.
"Is that why you haven't been home? Were you fornicating with men and raising a two-year-old daughter unbeknownst to us? We are your family Nubit… You have to tell mum or I will have to. She I a psychologist… she will understand…"
"Well… we're learning something new about the Middle Crown…" Marik chuckled as he retained his smug scheming expression for the politician's daughter.
"Okay… on second thought I'm really hungry now Master…" Bryn laughed.
"Lets find out where her sister lives… She is after all an affair the Khaits will not handle well if they are exposed. If we don't indoctrinate her and get her parents to yield their government legacy to us… we expose her family too." Marik whispered to Bryn. Bryn giggled as he was planning mischief with his Master.
"I like how you think Master Marik… you are so crafty and awesome…" Bryn smirked, imitating his Master's smirk. Although he still looks cute as he doesn't have the cold lavender orbs.
"I know… Odion must know of this plan… if she releases valuable information about us, we will make her pay… it's just like our usual undercover work." Marik smirked.
"Oh Master Marik… you' re too funny when we're outside of Rare Hunter missions… placing me in Elite have made our Undercover seem more like a backpacker's camping trip at times." Bryn nudged his Master.
"Ah… what was that quote again… 'Keep your friends close but your enemies closer' by Sun Tzu" Marik smirked, by now Luanne was wondering why they are taking so long outside the car.
"It's also in 'The Godfather II, Master Marik…" Bryn sighed.
"Keep Luanne close as usual…" Marik agreed.
"Where is Carissa?" Marik asked him.
"Could she come along to Spain? I'll miss her pretty badly…" Bryn pouted.
"You guys are taking so long, are you guys still going to the temple?" Luanne opened the car door. This confused Bryn and so he furrowed his eyes. Marik was also lost with the variety of questions.
"Carissa may come along… not Erin." Marik gritted his teeth as the thought of a sweet brat in his midst.
"Are we still heading to the Temple?" Luanne asked.
"Yes we are… Carissa will become the third wheel!" Marik swiftly replied.
"Nah, her and I are in a wheel, which means… you're a third wheel." Bryn grinned. Marik rolled his eyes.
"That will also come out of your pay check…" Marik chuckled.
Marik placed both hands on Bryn's shoulders and they both went in the car and Marik started the engine again. Bryn was glad Carissa was coming to this undercover mission. There were still some tourists, which Marik hated encountering for they will ask for photography at times.
Bryn opened the door and greeted his pastel haired girlfriend. "She is the Leader of the Valkyria Mages…" Marik informed Luanne. He eyes Bryn carrying her as she kisses Bryn.
"Are they a dangerous organisation?" Luanne asked.
"No."
"I know my Uncle was in the Vakyria Mages meeting as a senate…" Luanne remembered how her family would talk about secret meetings.
"We control Valkyria Mages." Marik smirked. "That was my answer about our association with other criminal syndicates. We need not, to be associated with World Bourgeoisies…." I'm working towards that path myself… Marik thought to himself. The cold glint in his lavender orbs gave Carissa the chills. She was afraid of Marik and avoided eye contact.
Bryn led Carissa to the car as Marik smiled at them. He got out of the car and so did Luanne. Bryn acknowledged that his Master wanted them to tag along so that it will make his task much easier. Luanne was slightly chilled by the sudden gust of wind, awakening her joints in her fingers. She hid them under her pocket. Marik then took her hand to the archaeological site, as this was the place he will be testing fraudulent cards. A throne was hidden at the peak of the temple and he smirked thinking about who he will be his Guinea Pig in duplicating the 'Egyptian God Card: The Winged Dragon of Ra.'
"You will look like Abbey if you have a bob…" Bryn commented on Luanne's new hairstyle.
"Why thank you… I was thinking the thing we have discussed Marik… about how love can be just a feeling." Luanne began.
Marik tsked, "You were thinking…? What a surprise!" Marik cynically said.
"Marik… I wanted to say that everyone has loved once beyond feelings. Have you loved someone and showed mercy upon them?" Luanne furrowed her eyebrow.
"You're asking me a question as though I am not capable of human affections. I am a human… I do respect only to those who mutually respect me!" Marik almost shouted. Bryn gawked but said nothing. Marik had never reacted to anyone's challenge and openly confessed something in a same level.
"Master Marik is like parring with Luanne? Like you just blurted out an egalitarian side of you Master Marik…" Marik sighed.
"Apart from being an obnoxious ruling Leader of the Rare Hunters… I have to babysit you Bryn since your were eleven years old…" Marik flicked his lackey's forehead.
Slowly the dust conquered the Temple and all four of them sat together. Bryn took out his phone and Carissa sat behind him. She was afraid of Marik after all this time.
"So is this temple the oldest monument in this province? And… how are pyramids built?" Luanne asked. Marik turned to her… amused about the idea of his religion being questioned.
"Luanne… Lu Lu… silly little Luanna! I think Egyptology isn't your field of study. The good little girl that you are well not understood the esoteric as you are ignorant of the exoteric". Marik chuckled making Luanne agitated. Bryn was also silent as his Master grabbed her chin.
"You will see that it was our religion that brought the Judeo-Christian their beliefs. It was though the slavery of Yahweh's pathetic civilisation that brought fundamental power. Moses ran like a coward to his land… he couldn't even face the Pharaoh who was his brother." Marik mocked her as he scanned her face. He grabbed her wrist and tightened it. She was afraid… she couldn't answer that. Remembering Exodus was purely a socio-cultural dispute in religion.
Then Luanne sighed… "The power of God was stronger than slavery as the Pharaoh's magician failed countless times." Bryn whispered to Carissa as they walked away.
"And so your Bible says because Jesus loves you…? Ipu‑wer, they say, describes the anarchy in Egypt at the end of the third millennium B.C.E. and has no bearing or conclusive evidence on the biblical story… " Smirking as he knew where to refute her claims.
"I on the other hand… am an academic and I know about 600,000 people suggest that approximately two million Hebrews left Egypt is it possible that such a vast emigration left no trace in Egyptian sources? The biblical narrative, they point out, is full contradictions concerning the topography and the sequence of events–a feature typical of folktales, not of historical texts." Marik chuckled, looking down at her as though her belief system was felony.
Afraid of where this was going, Luanne bit her lips and slowly shook her head. He looked at her incredulously and smirked. "I just nailed you to your cross, My Dear…. That's okay… I'm much more superior than the myth you believe." Cackling at her almost submissive form.
"Hey myth and believe rhymes!" Bryn grinned. "Yeah I'm all for that Ancient Religion…" Bryn giggled to Carissa.
Marik let go of her and traced his hands to her lip. "Our game will continue… but I assure you Miss Khait… whatever you stand for in love is weak."
"However like Martin Luthur… I will never recant my beliefs…" She thought to herself, no tear should drop. Bryn came by and tapped Marik on his shoulder…
"On the topic of weak… I have a weak stomach for motion sickness and I seriously trust my stomach… So… Luanne let's look around the place as it is your first time." Bryn was holding Carissa's hand and now Luanne's as his Lackey decided on his moral to remove her from his Master for a while. Marik gritted his teeth.
They were back at a restaurant and Bryn let Luanne cry on his shoulder if she wanted to but she didn't. It was only a hug but she knew not to show it. Carissa also comforted Luanne, whereas Marik sat alone. He had to finally plan for Madrid.
"Hey, if you ever go to Canada… I'll show you around Toronto. My Sister loves Animals but she lives in England at them moment. Euston Road… The busy front of traffic…" Bryn remember Marik wanted him to suss out something.
"My family live in Cairo… just the thought of going to England will be exciting. My sister, well she doesn't live with us either…" Luanne sighed.
"Oh… Marik also has a sister and he barely talks about her. Do you like talking about your sister?" Bryn asked.
"I haven's seen her for two years to talk about her. The one time I saw her was a few days ago before the conference. I lost that bond with her." Luanne said disgruntledly.
"I see… then I believe reconciliation is a good way to mend them." Bryn smiled. "Sometimes I lash out on my sister for not calling me but later I have to apologize and issue solved."
"You see this is my sister's message today and that's where we can't see past our differences. She is too reckless with men." Luanne showed Bryn the message.
"You know Bianca…. She has a bit of a queer feeling towards women. Miss Hill loved rolling the dice with sexuality as she believes in gender fluidity. Just watch out for her though." Bryn warned. He used his phone to hack Luanne's phone secretly and there he now possesses Nubit's number and sends it directly to Marik.
Bryn then walks to Marik and leans on the older teenager's shoulder. "Wow, you're pretty harsh about religion…" Bryn sighed, as he was familiar with Marik like an older brother. He glanced at the places Marik had written. He had been there before with Marik countless times. Most of the Rare Hunters were rendered into the Shadow Realm when ongoing failures were set before his Master.
"And you're doing very well as my little agent… well done…" Marik commended him. Marik scrolled his phone of collective illegal data.
"I tried… Luanne is a sweet girl you know… just being cruel takes a toll on my energy." Bryn sighed and Marik patted his head.
"You want energy? Help me finish my salad. I never said undercover jobs are smooth sailing." Marik figured Bryn was playing devil's advocate.
"I love chilling with you when you're not being cruel." He saw Luanne talking to Carissa and smiled as his girlfriend's icy pink eyes validate her agency to aid Marik as she winked at Bryn.
"We'll be heading to Spain tomorrow and remember our tour is a secret. He will return today and everything will be under his command." Marik assured Bryn.
Luanne realized her phone was signaling BWHRH but she ignored it. "She reminds me of Joan of Arc, the woman who is tough. Just wondering why do you break every girls you see."
"Feminism is a joke to me sometimes Bryn. Her ideals and politics is only a persona, like a fortress that will collapse when the foundation is chipped overtime. One simply cannot live without a cornerstone, as the wise words of the foiled scripture Ephesians 2:19 has written. I'm not ignorant about that belief Bryn. I just know that it is flawed and Luanne will see it for what it is. Desensitizing takes time like your hacking of technology… I hack minds…" Marik stared at her. "I have to say, she is no typical pretty little fool." Marik smirked.
"And I'm a your handsome little geek… so this means you will treat me with a nice trip to the Shadow Realm right?" Bryn smiled.
"How about taking my Millennium Rod a little more seriously." Marik flicked his fingers at Bryn's forehead again. Finally he realized he will manage an alteration of her mind if there was one labyrinth that he had not been opened, that was the one dimension he will access for her to surrender her life to him: The fore mind.
