Author's note: This chapter takes place right after the fifth race of TheDragonSaver's 'Magical World Grand Prix' story.

###

The fifth race of the Magical World Grand Prix just came to an end. The participating teams took a little break in Duckburg before it was time for them to move on to the next race. Logan's team was currently enjoying a little snack outside a restaurant in the Financial District.

"Mmm! This is really good!" Scott exclaimed after taking a sip of a smoothie. "I think I'm gonna talk about this restaurant to my boss. Maybe he'll want to make a deal with it."

"This city is very beautiful," Dastan remarked while looking at the animal-habited city around him. "The climate is a lot lighter than in my country. Glad we got the chance to do a race here."

"Yeah, but it would've been a lot better if we had actually ended up first instead of third... again," Logan remarked while looking down at his sandwich with a bitter expression. "I just don't understand what went wrong; we got a strong start, remained ahead for most of the race, I thought all my time playing Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin would've allowed me to win that pitstop challenge, and Della's knowledge of the place should've given us an advantage too. So what went wrong?"

Scott gave his friend a shrug. "What do you want, dude? We can't win all the time. But, hey, look at the bright side; we're now in third position, tied with that cat girl you don't like. Besides, there are still enough races left for us to turn things around."

Logan looked up from his sandwich and at the superhero with a smile. "Yeah, I guess you're right about that." He then looked at Della, taking note that she didn't seem really happy. "What's wrong, Della? You look even more down than I am. Is something bothering you?"

"What?" The female duck snapped back to reality and looked at the young man. "Oh, don't worry, it's nothing, Logan. I was just... thinking about a discussion I had with Gabriel before the last race."

"You discussed with Gabriel? About what?" Logan asked, rising a curious eyebrow.

"Well... We were talking about the race with the others when the conversation turned towards my parenting skills. I claimed that I was better than Buck in the parenting department."

"Buck? Chicken Little's father?"

"Yes. Gabriel didn't take kindly to that statement. He defended Buck, saying he had a lot to deal with by raising a son after losing his wife and having Chicken Little cause a panic in his town."

Logan nodded throughout his friend's explanations. "And that's why you feel down?"

"No. Actually, it's because he made a correct statement after defending Buck by calling out my own parenting skills - more precisely, what I did during the second season of my show."

"What? The episode where you decided to put your foot down on Louie after the whole time travel thing?" Logan asked, a shocked expression starting to form on his face. "He called you a bad parent for that?"

"No, no, no, not at all!" Della quickly stopped him from misunderstanding. "He just said I still have a lot to learn in the parenting department, that's all. And he's right; I still need more time before having the right to judge other parents..."

Logan just stared at his duck companion for a moment before his face twisted into a frown. He stood up from his chair and started walking away without even finishing his sandwich. "Where are you going?" Dastan asked.

"I'm gonna give the Dream Keeper a piece of my mind," Logan responded.

"Logan, wait, don't be mad!" Della called. But the young man was already gone.

###

Logan walked around Duckburg for a while, looking for Gabriel. He eventually found him at the Financial District's beach, talking with Lena. Of what, he wasn't sure.

"Hey, Gabriel, Lena," he announced his arrival.

The two avians turned to look at him. "Oh, hey, Logan. Didn't see you there," Gabriel said.

"What's up, kid?" Lena asked with crossing her arms.

This response caused Logan to give a glance at the duck. "'Kid'? Would you stop calling me that? I'm older than you, for the record!"

Lena just rolled her eyes, a grin forming on her beak. "I seriously doubt that, considering I was born in the Shadow Realm fifteen years before the start of the series, making me older than I look... kid."

Logan looked up at the sky and started counting on his fingers. "Fifteen years before the show... But then that still makes you a teenager while I'm an adult..." He then shook his head, realizing he was moving away from the topic. "Anyway, do you mind if I burrow Gabriel for a sec'? I'd like to have a little discussion with him."

"No problems. I was going to hang out with Webby and Violet anyway. See ya later, boys." And with that, the teenage duck walked away, leaving the two friends alone.

"So? What did you want to talk about?" Gabriel asked.

Logan gave a serious look and crossed his arms. "Della told me you made a little comment about her parenting skills before the race?"

Seeing the serious expression on his friend's face, the Dream Keeper stopped smiling. "Huh... Yes, sort of, why?"

"That wasn't necessary. I'd appreciate that you avoid doing displaced remarks like this to my friends, please," Logan said with a low but firm tone.

"Logan, I wasn't insulting her or anything - I didn't say she's a bad mother. All I said was that she still has a lot to learn and-"

"Yeah, yeah, I know; Della already told me," Logan interrupted his friend. "What I'm not okay with is the argument in question. Della didn't deserve to be sandbagged just for showing tough love to her son after he misbehaved, okay?"

Gabriel frowned, not liking how his friend used the term 'sandbagging'. "You're not seriously telling me you agree with her decision? Locking away your child with a killer robot while going on a vacation to the one place in the world he likes is petty and unnecessary. Not even counting the fact that she left him defenseless. Did you forget that Louie could have been hurt or injured by Scrooge's greatest villains?"

Logan scoffed at this and placed his hands behind his head in a not-so-relaxed way. "And you? Did you forget that Louie almost caused the entire Duck and McDuck family to be broken apart forever because he preferred committing time heists rather than go on adventures with the rest of his family? In my book, that's not exactly the kind of action that deserves to be rewarded with vacations. Did you want Della to take him to a Chuck E. Cheese while they were at it?"

The raven rolled his eyes, starting to get annoyed at his friend's behavior. "He apologized for his actions at the end of the episode and learned from his mistake!"

Logan turned his head to the side a bit and let out what sounded like a snarky chuckle. "I apologize for the dry criticism, Gabriel, but you're a fool if you think apologizing is enough to make up for all of your mistakes. Actions have consequences, I know this better than most people."

Gabriel felt a bit hurt, getting called a fool by his friend. "I'm not saying the opposite, Logan. But just because actions have consequences doesn't mean the consequences must put your family in danger!"

"Would you knock it off? It's not like Della could know that all of Scrooge's nemesis were going to unify and launch a raid on the McDuck Manor that day. You do know it's one of Glomgold's ideas we're talking about here, right?"

Gabriel opened his beak to talk... but then closed it and chuckled. "Yeah, you're right about that. But still, even if Glomgold didn't come with his crew, the killer robot could have hurt Louie at one point or another."

"Yeah, I admit that might have been a bit over the top," Logan admitted, looking at the ground with his hands still behind his head. A little chuckle then escaped his mouth, which didn't go unnoticed by the raven.

"What's funny?"

"Nothing, it's just... I realized this is the second time you and I have been disagreeing and arguing on something. The first time, by some sort of coincidence, was also about the Chicken Little movie, which you liked, and I didn't."

Gabriel also chuckled, remembering that detail. "Yeah, you know that I'm against all the hate the early 2000s Disney movies are receiving, Chicken Little the most. I enjoy an entertaining 'bad' movie way more than a boring 'good' one. I don't know if you understand what I mean?"

Logan laughed a bit. "Dude, you're talking to a guy who enjoyed the Star Wars Prequels and didn't enjoy the Star Wars Sequels."

This comment made the two friends share a good laugh together. Once it died down, an awkward silence settled between them. "Listen, Logan, I wasn't trying to upset you nor Della. I just hate people bashing on Buck for being a so-called 'bad father' when he had to raise a son despite losing his wife and dealing with the stress of his son of causing trouble in his town. That's a lot to deal with, you know?"

Logan's smile disappeared in almost a second. "So much to deal with that you have to abandon your kid when he needs you the most?"

If Logan wanted to annoy Gabriel, he succeeded. "My gosh, you're condescending, Logan! Buck has been improving a lot as a father since the movie's release, is that too much asked of you to give him a chance?" He rubbed his eyes. "Listen, I know you've been under a lot of stress since your match against-"

"Don't mention his name," Logan dryly cut him off. He turned around and started waking away with his hands in his pockets. "In fact, don't talk to my team again for the remaining of the competition."

As Logan walked away, Gabriel closed his eyes and sighed.

Author's note: A tense chapter, wasn't it? After seeing the last chapter in DS's 'Magical World Grand Prix', I imagined Logan learning about Gabriel's comment to Della and deciding to confront him about it. Ultimately, I came to the conclusion that this is exactly what he would do, to keep him in-character.

Now, to make things clear, I didn't write this chapter because I disagree with DS and want to trash talk him. It's just that I have a different opinion on the whole Della Duck and Buck's parenting skills debate, and liked the idea of having Logan voice his thoughts. Now that I think about it, I believe it's the first time two members of the Disney Defenders (Gabriel, Rachel, Silver, Adam, Logan, Toren, etc) get into an actual argument of such proportions. Like, actually fighting for a disagreement instead of just arguing for a comedic detail.

This isn't intended to be a one-sided argument, either; both guys have valid points in this whole affair. Before you point it out in the reviews, I won't deny that Logan can be arrogant and condescending by moment - that's just part of who he is. Will this confrontation have long term effects? This depends on TheDragonSaver; this chapter takes place during his story, after all.
