Author's note: Finally! After so many weeks of studying nonstop, I can at last write on this site again! Man, if I see another fraction or triangle, I think I'm gonna be sick. This chapter takes place between race 6 and 7 of the Magical World Grand Prix and will show how Logan and Aline became friends after the whole Heartless ordeal.
###
Destiny the whale shark happily floated across Animal Kingdom, heading towards her boyfriend's home for some hang out time. The last race of the Magical World Grand Prix took place the day before, leaving the participants with an entire week of free time before the next race. She would use that time to see how her little owl was doing and try to have as much fun as possible with him before next week.
About midway through to her destination, Destiny looked up at the sky to spot a rather odd animal rarely seen in Animal Kingdom; a snowy owl. It didn't even take her two seconds to figure out who it was. "Logan! Hey, where are you going? Wait up!" She ran (well, floated) after her boyfriend, as he didn't hear him. Why was he in a little snowy owl form instead of the giant one he always used in battle?
Eventually, Logan landed on the ground at the kingdom's entrance. Destiny was about to call for him, only to stop when she realized he was meeting up with another person. A girl. Curiosity setting in, the whale shark hid behind a corner to look at the situation unfolding. The mysterious girl had black hair with blue and pink streaks in it. Her eyes were of a beautiful purple, and her dress consisted of a pink jacket and fancy skirt of the same color.
"Wait a minute...," Destiny mumbled, giving a deep analyzing look at the girl before gasping. "I know her! She's that cat girl we fought in the Sorcerer's Arena Tournament! What's Logan doing with her?"
"Hey, what's up, Destiny?" The aquatic creature turned around to see a snow-white-skinned and red-haired girl wearing a yellow robe with a ball of fire floating above her head between two golden horns. It was Hekapoo from Star vs The Forces of Evil.
"Oh, hi, Hekapoo," Destiny quickly greeted her friend before looking back at the scene. "Sorry, but now's not exactly the best time to chat."
"Why? What's going on?" the member of the Magic High Commission asked as she walked over to Destiny. "Hey, is that your boyfriend over there?"
"Yeah. And he's talking to a girl whom we aren't exactly on good terms with, from what I know," Destiny explained without looking away. Suddenly, the two of them stopped discussing and turned into their animal forms, owl for Logan and cat for Aline, before heading out of Animal Kingdom. "Oh no! They're leaving!"
Hekapoo took out her dimensional scissors and grinned. "Wanna follow them?"
"You bet I wanna!"
Using the dimensional scissors, the two girls crossed portals to sneakily follow Logan and Aline. They eventually arrived at Disney Springs, where the two of them returned to their human forms and started walking around while chatting. Destiny and Hekapoo couldn't hear what they were saying though.
"I swear, if she brainwashed Logan, I will...," Destiny grumbled under her breath.
"You think that's why he's hanging out with her? If you want, I can capture and drag him by force to Mewni to do a scan for any brainwashing spell and see if we can cure it," Hekapoo offered, clearly excited at the idea of knocking someone out.
"No, let's keep that option on hold for now," Destiny declined, not wanting to hurt her boyfriend for no reason. The duo followed Logan and Aline in silence for a while until they came across a huge crowd in the middle of one of Disney Springs' many shopping districts. They inevitably lost sight of their targets in spite of their best efforts.
"Argh! Starfish and barnacles!" Destiny exclaimed in frustration. "We lost them! Now, we're never going to find the answer!"
"The answer to what?" asked Logan, who just appeared next to his girlfriend.
"The answer to why you're hanging out with a girl you clearly stated not liking every time we met between two races," Destiny replied, still with her annoyed tone. A few seconds passed before she widened her eyes and took realization of who just talked to her. "L-Logan?! Huh... hi?"
Logan crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. "Can I know why you and Hekapoo are following me like secret agents chasing a criminal?"
The group retreated to a calmer place in order to have their little conversation. After doing proper introductions, Destiny explained everything to Logan and Aline.
"Okay, so, if I understand correctly, you saw me meeting with Aline earlier and assumed she must've brainwashed me or something. Therefore, you decided to spy on us?" Logan summed up the whole story. "Is that it?"
"Pretty much, yeah," Hekapoo nonchalantly replied while resting against a wall.
"Sorry about all of this, Logan. It's just... Every time we spent time together between two races, you wouldn't stop rambling about how Sprig betrayed you for this 'cat girl' and how you were pissed off that your friends accepted her so easily after she acted like an antagonist during the Sorcerer's Arena Tournament. So, seeing you meeting up with her and acting like friends felt... odd," Destiny explained.
"You really were that upset?" Aline asked, crossing her arms and giving a sharp look at Logan.
Logan gave a nervous smile and rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah... Sorry about that..." He looked back at Destiny. "But really, Destiny, everything's fine between Aline and me, now. I know I said a lot of things before, but things have happened in the last race, and I'm not mad at her anymore. To ensure there's no more hard feelings between us, I promised to spend the week with her. We're supposed to do a movie marathon together today, but Aline prefers to start it later, this evening. So, we decided to hang around one of Disney's kingdoms until then. It turned out to be Disney Springs."
"Oh... Okay, everything's clear now," Destiny recognized with sheepishly rubbing the back of her head with her fin.
Logan took his girlfriend's fins with his hands. "Destiny, I truly appreciate your concern for me, but if you were worried, you could've just approached and ask me what was going on."
"Sorry about that." Destiny kissed her boyfriend on the lips. While Aline's eyes lit up from the adorableness of the scene, Hekapoo simply rolled her eyes and chuckled a bit. Once the kiss ended, Destiny looked at Aline. "Sorry for thinking you were still a villain, Aline."
"It's okay, Destiny," Aline assured with affectionately patting the whale shark on the head. "I'm really happy to meet you in an official manner, and not in the middle of a tournament."
At that moment, Hekapoo let out a loud yawn that the three others noticed. "Alright, that's cute and all, but if you're done with the sad reconciliation stuff, I'd like to get to the fun part."
Logan tilted his head to the side and crossed his arms, not getting the red-haired girl's point. "The fun part? What do you mean by that?"
Hekapoo chuckled a bit harder, almost sinisterly. "Oh, poor little boy, you still haven't realized? Look all around you."
Confused, Logan, Destiny and Aline did as Hekapoo said and looked around them. But there wasn't much to see except the walkers who passed by and the numerous shops across the place. While Logan couldn't figure out what Hekapoo meant, Destiny and Aline apparently did, as they exchanged wide smiles and looked back at him. The young man frowned as a bad feeling started growing in his guts. Then, his situation hit him like a pile of bricks, making him widen his eyes.
He was stuck in Disney Springs, one of the best shopping place in the world, with three girls...
"You finally got it," Hekapoo deduced with a grin as she got off the wall. "It's shopping time!"
"Yeah!" Destiny and Aline beamed in unison. Before Logan could do anything, the three girls headed toward the closest shop, forcefully dragging him with them.
"Somebody, please, save me!" the young boy mentally begged with his eyes closed.
"Alright! It's time for our movie marathon!" Aline beamed as she and Logan strolled down Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom, where the sun had already started setting down on the horizon. She was carrying a few bags on her arms. "Aren't you excited, Logan?"
"Yeah... Excited to sit down and not move for hours," Logan grumbled with a frown. He was carrying a few of the bags that belonged to his cat-loving friend. "I'm never gonna go shopping with girls ever again..."
"Aww, relax. It wasn't that bad, was it?"
"Easy for you to say; you didn't have to carry tens of bags all at once for hours!" Logan spat back, stretching his aching arms.
"But you looked like a real gentleman doing such a favor to a group of young women," Aline mused. "Plus, didn't you say you practiced pro wrestling? If that's the case, lifting piles of clothes should be cake for you."
"Sure, but there still are limits..." Logan dragged his gaze on the floor as his cheeks started turning red. "And did you girls really had to tease me with your choices of dress across your little shopping session?"
A loud giggle escaped Aline's mouth. It was true that, lost in their fun, she, Destiny and Hekapoo didn't miss a chance to tease the poor boy by constantly asking him what he thought of whatever dress or outfit they tried, always taking beauty poses for emphasis. As if that wasn't enough, they always made sure that all the by passers understood he was with all three of them. The worst part of that torture definitely was when they reached a swimsuit shop. Hekapoo didn't stop being cruel with Logan by trying all sorts of swimsuits for him, even when she didn't plan to buy them, all of this while knowing fully well that he already had a girlfriend. Speaking of which, as if seeing Destiny trying on beautiful one-piece swimsuits wasn't flustering as it was, Hekapoo convinced her to try two-pieces suits. In these moments, Logan's head turned red like a tomato
"Anyway, are we getting at your place soon? My arms and legs are killing me," Logan demanded.
"Don't worry, we should arrive in the next minutes," Alien assured him.
And, surely enough, the duo arrived at Aline's residence shortly after. An elegant brownstone townhouse located on the residence side of Main Street. While the outside was impressive, it was nothing compared to the inside. The whole interior was painted in blue and pink, with fancy French furniture decorating the whole place. While not as big as a manor, it still looked worthy of a princess' residence.
"You can drop the bags where you want; I'll pull them away later," Aline instructed as she went to pull her bags down on the kitchen's table before going in the living room and setting Disney+.
"Wow, that's an amazing residence you got here, Aline," Logan remarked, looking all around in awe after pulling his bags next to Aline's in the kitchen. "Definitely more fancy than my own house."
"Yeah. I took inspiration from my former residence with my parents when came the time to decorate my new home," Aline explained while running through Disney+, looking for the movies they planned to watch for their marathon.
"Your parents were fans of European architecture?" Logan asked as he dropped the bags (with joy), finally able to rest after an intense day.
"You can say that again. My mother was a prima ballerina. She made her debut in the role of Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty Ballet," Aline explained.
"What's The Sleeping Beauty Ballet?" Logan asked.
"It's a piece of theater based on La Belle au bois dormant, the original title of The Sleeping Beauty. It's also one of the most famous ballets ever created."
"Oh, okay. Sorry, but I've never really been into ballet; I'm more of a movie, TV show and video game kind of guy."
Aline rolled her eyes at this. "Bien sûr que non. Le ballet est une discipline que seuls ceux qui apprécient l'art peuvent aimer. Ce n'est visiblement pas ton cas."
Logan frowned and crossed his arms. "Pour ton information, sache que j'apprécie beaucoup l'art sous certaines formes. Ce n'est peut-être pas le ballet, mais certaines oeuvres qui ont une place spéciale dans mon coeur sont des merveilles qui n'ont jamais vieilli."
Aline's eyes widened to their limit. "Y-You speak French?"
A grin formed on Logan's face. "Of course. I come from Quebec, a region in Canada, remember? The people there are called French-Canadians because we speak both French and English."
"Really? That's cool."
Logan turned his head and spotted a picture lying on a small table next to the couch. It showed a man and woman wearing fancy clothes - they almost looked like those noble people you saw on big drawings in castles. "Who are they?" he asked whilst looking at the photo.
"My parents. Lucia and Cecelia," Aline answered.
"What was your father doing in life?"
"He was a theater critic. My mom met him during the production of The Sleeping Beauty Ballet." A sad expression formed on Aline's face. "I haven't seen them for a very long time..."
Logan nodded. "Yeah, I don't know your full story, but Gabriel told me you aren't on the best of terms with your parents, right?"
Aline picked up the photo and sighed. "My father always favored my mom more than me. I always did everything they told me to do and more, burst myself to live up to their expectations - to my mom's reputation. All I ever wanted in exchange was for them to love me... for who I am... But they never did. That's how I ended up becoming the bad girl you've faced in the Sorcerer's Arena. I'm sorry about that, by the way."
"Sorry about what? That was a match; you were supposed to do everything to beat me. We both gave our all in this match, but that day, you and your friends were the better team," Logan explained. His expression softened a lot. "If you want to know, I do understand you on a certain level. I, too, disappointed people I cared about before, and they never forgave me for it. There's not a single day when I'm not afraid of doing it again and losing all my friends like Gabriel and Rachel. That's why I always do my best to try and live up to my position as a Dream Defender."
"Really? I didn't know that," Aline said with sympathy in her voice.
"Aline, I sincerely apologize for the way I treated you during the race. I was in a dark place, but that doesn't mean I should've been rude with you nor Gabriel. Do you think you can forgive me one of these days?"
"Of course, silly. That's the reason we're having this movie marathon, remember?" Aline mused with elbowing the young boy in the shoulder. "Speaking of which, we came here to bond and have fun together, didn't we? So let's stop dwelling on our sad pasts and get this amazing marathon started!"
"Yeah, you're right!" Logan agreed with a smile. Aline was about to leave for the kitchen to get them some snacks when the doorbell rang. "I wonder who it could be at this hour?"
The young boy walked over to the door and opened. He did not expect to see a young Jaquin from Avalor with topaz fur that had turquoise spots and feathers, and gray eyes. He had a rainbow scarf wrapped around his neck and glasses resting on the tip of his adorable dark brown nose. "Greetings, everybody and everyone!"
"T-Toren?!" Logan exclaimed, surprised to see his fellow Dream Defender and friend.
"Hey, Logan!" The Jaquin jumped to affectionately nuzzle his friend. "Been a while since we last got to hang out together, right?"
"Sure has been! Why are you here? And why did bring all of... this?" Logan asked, designing the many items his animal friend was currently holding in his paws and wings: a bag of popcorn, goblets of soda, a wide selection of sweets and Pringles, a dash of nachos with cheese, Neapolitan ice cream, and even bags of different tea flavors.
"Well... Aline said she wanted to do a movie marathon themed after animal movies with you, right? It just so happens that I adore these movies!" Toren explained. "So... I was hoping I could join you in it?"
"Toren!" Aline exclaimed upon seeing her Jaquin friend at the door and went to hug him. "Of course you can join us. The more, the merrier! Come in!"
"Cool!" Toren happily entered the Brownstone and hopped on the living room's couch with all of his snacks. Logan and Aline joined him. "So? What movies did you plan to watch for the marathon?"
"For now, we planned to watch the following in the same order: The Aristocats, Oliver & Company, Zootopia and Rio," Aline explained.
"That sounds fun! Can we add Dinosaur, Finding Nemo, the Air Buddies and Bambi II as well?" Toren asked, looking like a child demanding sweets from his mother.
"I don't see why not," Aline responded with a nod.
"Hey, if we're watching Finding Nemo, we have to watch Finding Dory as well; my girlfriend's in it!" Logan exclaimed. "While we're at it, why don't we watch the new Chip 'n Dale movie as well?"
"Good idea; I've been wanting to watch his one as well," Aline said, with Toren nodding in agreement.
"Alright! All set? Let's get this started!" Logan exclaimed with falling back in the couch.
"Not so fast! Aren't you forgetting something?" Aline asked with crossing her arms.
Logan tilted his head in confusion... before understanding what she meant. "Right... Go ahead." He opened his arms and closed his eyes, letting Aline throw her spell at him. He tuned into his little snowy owl form, while she turned into her cat one.
"Wow, Logan, you're so adorable!" Toren exclaimed and hugged the little bird. Aline giggled amusingly at this sight, whilst Logan just gave a grumpy expression (but still blushed a bit). With that out of the way, the three friends could finally begin their marathon, starting with The Aristocats.
Before the movie could begin, the Disney+ app displayed a warning message: "This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together."
"I'm really glad they added those messages in their old movies instead of just removing their content or simply ignoring them," Aline commented.
"Yeah. It would've been easy to try and hide the studio's past mistakes, but it's very mature to acknowledge and even learn from them," Logan added with a nod.
The Aristocats finally started with the opening title sequence that included the song from Maurice Chevalier. "Can you guys understand all the French words he's singing?" Toren asked his friends, who both nodded a yes.
"Say, Logan, have you ever seen this movie before or is it your first time?" Aline asked.
"It's not my first time; I used to watch this movie on VHS a lot when I was a toddler. I think I saw it as many times as The Lion King... Can't say I really remember the songs, though," Logan admitted with rubbing the back of his head.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the part where Madame Adelaide Bonfamille does her will, stating she leaves her fortune to her cats whilst Edgar, her butler, hears everything and is disappointed. After swallowing some licorice, Logan scratched the side of his head. "Huh, am I the only one who finds it weird that she's leaving her whole fortune to her pets rather than the man who devoted his life to her? It almost makes me feel bad for him... And he's supposed to be the villain."
"Yeah, as a kid, I had no problem with it because the cats were good while the butler was evil. But now, I kinda understand where he comes from," Aline admitted with a little chuckle.
"But didn't it occur to him that someone would need to take care of the Aristocats once their owner was dead?" Toren asked. "Like, they would've gotten the fortune, but he still would've been in control of the residence as the only human, right? His whole scheme was kinda pointless."
The three kittens were wrestling with one another until their mother, Duchess, came to stop them. When accused by her brothers of starting the confrontation, Marie responded with: "Ladies do not start fights, but they can finish them."
"Ha! That's my favorite line!" Aline exclaimed. "You tell 'em, girl!"
As the kittens played together, Logan couldn't help but let out a sigh. "You know, guys, it feels weird seeing those little kids playing together like this and thinking that, right now, their actors are older than us..."
Fast-forward, we get to the part where Toulouse practices painting and Marie sings while Berlioz plays the piano. Toren couldn't help but chuckle at Toulouse's funny painting of Mr. Edgar. "Is it because of this scene that you wanted to start drawing, Logan?" he jokingly asked.
"Not exactly. Drawing and painting aren't the same thing, Toren."
After sedating the cats with sleeping pills, Edgar the butler took them away on his motorcycle. "Hey, he kidnapped those poor cats! He's a catnapper!" Logan exclaimed. Aline and Toren gave him gazes saying 'seriously?'. "... What? I can crack a joke when I want to."
Still in the same scene, Edgar got in trouble with Napoleon and Lafayette the dogs. All three friends laughed a lot during that scene. "Okay, can we just agree on the fact that these two are the best characters in the hole movie?" Toren asked.
"I agree," Aline said with wiping a tar away. "Pat Butram and George Linsey were perfect in these roles. I don't know who they're gonna cast for the live action version, but there's no way they're gonna be able to outperform those legends."
This statement caught Logan's attention. "They're gonna make a live action version of this movie?"
"Yup; they announced it in January, this year," Toren confirmed. "It's supposed to be directed by a guy named Will Gluck."
After saving Marie from drowning, Thomas O'Malley received some 'swimming lessons' from the geese sisters Abigail and Amelia, who realized he could not swim and dragged him back to safety. "Oh, mesdemoiselles, thank you so much for saving Monsieur O'Malley," Duchess told them.
"Yeah, after nearly drowning him, you bunch of maniacs," Logan sarcastically said.
Soon enough, the Aristocats and O'Malley arrived to the room where the latter's friends were hanging around, and they began to sing their song. "Alright! I love that song!" Aline beamed and started singing the song.
(Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat - Floyd Huddleston and Al Rinker)
Aline:
Everybody wants to be a cat,
Because a cat's the only cat
Who knows where it's at
Aline sang and hopped onto the living room's table while moving in rhythm with the song, Toren having to move the snacks away so that they wouldn't be knocked off. The Jaquin also hopped on the table and joined in the song and dance.
Toren:
Tell me, everybody's pickin' up on that feline beat
'Cause everything else is obsolete
A square with a horn makes you wish you weren't born
The two friends pressed their backs while dancing and singing the next part.
Aline and Toren:
Every time he plays
But with a square in the act
You can set music back
For that part, the two feline friends turned around and pressed the tips of their tails to form a square, making Logan chuckle in amusement.
Aline and Toren:
To the cave man days, cha-cha-ba-dum-bo-day
I've heard some corny birds who who tried to sing
Still a cat's the only cat who knows how to swing
Aline gave a little grin in Logan's direction, the young owl understanding that it was a challenge to join in the dance. He decided to take it on and joined his two friends on the dance floor.
Logan:
Who wants to dig a long-haired gig or stuff like that?
When everybody wants to be a cat
A square with a horn makes you wish you weren't born
Logan swung his wings in elegant moves, whilst Toren hopped onto a piano decorating the living room and played the notes, just like in the movie.
Toren:
Every time he plays
Oh, a rinky-tinky-tinky
With a square in the act you can set music back
To the cave man days
Aline hopped on the piano as well and mimicked Marie's dance moves from the scene.
Aline:
Oh, a rinky-tinky-tinky
Aline and Toren:
Yes, everybody wants to be a cat
Because a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at
Aline, Logan and Toren:
When playin' jazz you always has a welcome mat
'Cause everybody digs a swinging cat
As the other instruments came in and the tempo kicked up a notch, Aline decided to join Logan on the living room table, giving him a teasing, almost seducing grin while still dancing. Understanding this was an invitation, Logan returned the grin. He approached the lady feline and the two of them started sharing a dance whilst Toren watched with an excited smile. At one point, Aline offered her paw, Logan grabbing it with his wing and making her spin before she performed a graceful moonsault over his head.
Simian cat (in the movie):
Shanghai, Hong Kong, Egg Foo Yong
Fortune cookies always wrong
The three friends frowned a bit at this part, but still kept following the beat. Aline wrapped her paws around Logan's fluffy neck whilst he placed his wings on her hips for the next part.
Logan, Aline and Toren:
Everybody, everybody, everybody wants to be a cat
Hallelujah!
Everybody, everybody, everybody wants to be a cat
Everybody, everybody, everybody wants to be a cat
Everybody, everybody
Everybody, everybody, everybody wants to be a cat
Hallelujah!
As the song came to an end, Aline fell backward, Logan holding her with a wing around her back. The two of them panted in exhaustion, Aline grinning whilst Logan realized what just happened. He helped her back up and blushed.
"You're a pretty good dancer, mon ami," the feline girl remarked with a little giggle.
Logan went red in the face. "Please, guys, don't tell Destiny I danced with another girl..."
After the Aristocats and their friends defeated Edgar, the butler found himself sent to Timbuktu, Africa. "Adiós mi amigo! Hope you like hot temperatures and giraffes!" Toren said with a wave of his paw.
Then came the ending with O'Malley becoming a member of the family and everybody singing a reprise of 'Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat'. When 'The End' appeared, all three friends clapped together out of respect for the work they had just witnessed.
"I'll never grow tired of this film," Aline happily sighed. "What did you think, Logan?"
"I liked it. It might not have the same comeback power as other Disney films I love like The Lion King, but it's still very charming," Logan explained. "The one point I still struggle to get over is the madam giving away her fortune to her cats. Before you point it out, I know that we have cat friends who are very intelligent, but in the context of this movie, they're just pet cats who have no idea how economy works. Look, I know she loves her cats, but there still are limits."
"There's also the episodic nature of the film. While it's not something we usually see in most Disney movies, I like how it gives the film a lighter tone and stakes. Edgar wasn't exactly that memorable of an antagonist, especially when compared to other villains of the time like Jafar or Ursulla. Another detail is the secondary characters; while they were fun and had personality, they felt a bit disconnected from the main storyline."
"The main cast, however, was truly likeable. O'Malley was basically like Baloo as a cat, but with a more cheeky and charming attitude. Duchess was also a great protagonist; in most movies like this, the hero always ignores or rejects people they meet in favor of returning home as fast as possible, but Duchess is always polite with the characters she and the kittens meet while also making it clear they want to return home. While her romance with O'Malley might not be too different from the Lady and the Tramp's, I still like it for what it is. And, of course, the kitties were very adorable. I like how the producers took the time to give them their own design and personality, instead of taking the easy way and simply giving them slightly different appearances with no difference in terms of attitude. But the strongest point was the music - I'm not gonna forget that number for a long time."
"Wow, that's a huge critique you just did there, Lo-Lo," Toren remarked with a grin. "Hope you're not planning on giving one for each film, or it'll never end."
"Come on, let's start the next film before he decides to go on a rent, just as he promised me not to," Aline said with getting the next film ready. She giggled a bit. "I can't wait for all three of us to sing Dodger's song..."
The week of fun flew by and, before they realized it, the time came for Logan and Aline to part ways and get ready for the next race. The two friends (in their human forms) walked out of Aline's residence, the cat lady accompanying the owl boy to the entrance.
"Thanks again for accepting my offer, Logan. This week was a lot of fun," Aline gratefully said just after Logan crossed the entrance door and turned to look at her.
"The feeling is mutual, Aline. I don't think I've ever sang and danced that much in the span of a week. My favorites were 'Why Should I Care?' and 'Hot Wings' with Toren. Maybe he and I should think about doing a duo performance one of these days," Logan mused.
"Count me in! I'll be the third wheel of our tricycle!" Aline declared, the two friends sharing a good laugh together. "Say, maybe we could hang out some more after today's race. What do you say we go do some shopping in the other districts of Disney Springs?"
"Forget this!" Logan immediately declined. "I'm not going to do any shopping with a girl for the next five years, minimum."
"Yeah, I already knew it; I just wanted to tease you," Aline giggled. "But seriously, there's other stuff we could do together. We could discuss our favorite pieces of art when given the chance, Fluffy."
"That would be a good idea... And stop calling me 'Fluffy', please!" Logan demanded. 'Fluffy' was the nickname Aline affectionately gave him during their week of fun together.
"Why does that bother you so much? Snowy owls are known for their fluffy feathers that keep them warm in winter."
"Maybe... but how are my friends supposed to take me seriously if I let one of my former rivals call me 'Fluffy' all around? It almost sounds like you see me as a pet, and I'm okay with it," Logan explained, crossing his arms while looking at the ground with a flustered expression.
"Sure... You should go home and see if Destiny's there before the race."
"Good idea. You promise not to tell her about our many dances together, right?"
"Of course. Take care now... Fluffy."
"STOP CALLING ME THAT!" Logan exclaimed, but Aline had already closed the door.
Author's note: Logan and Aline's week of hanging out is done, and Toren even joined in the fun. Hope I did a good job at developing their friendship and that alexc1209 is satisfied with the way I used her OC.
Toren joining the movie marathon happened because AvalorianJaquin posted a review on my latest chapter where he made a simulation of Toren packing lots of snacks in hopes of convincing Logan and Aline to let him join them. You know how much I like our little Jaquin friend and since I enjoy interacting with the readers, I couldn't refuse. As for the chapter itself, I originally planned to show the trio's reactions to every movie of the marathon... but that would've taken an eternity, and I would've been forced to write them singing and dancing to plenty of songs. You know what they say: "Don't abuse good things."
Since I'm done with my year of school, I should have more free time and be able to update this more often. Not too much though, as TheDragonSaver's 'Magical World Grand Prix' story is still going on, and I don't want to accidentally add elements that would ruin his plans. That being said, if you have any story idea for Logan and his friends, don't hesitate: I'm always open to suggestions! Just make sure it doesn't imply Logan going shopping with girls XD!
